ROLEPLAY HQ - infestation

Westbroad was a small American town with a large population. It was ever growing with more people moving in everyday, more buildings being built causing the local economy to boom and thrive. Westbroad had all kinds of establishments in the center of town including fitness centres, shopping centres and more. Not too far from the town was a military camp called camp hope it was small but always seemed to have more guards than it needed. Some people say that the government has been doing experiments in an underground bunker there. Today was different to most over days as the news had been reporting strange going ons on the outer limits of town, people being attacked or going missing casing a joint respond from police and military personnel. The time was around 9 am when Shawn turned on his tv to see the local news report taking about the recent disturbances. He sat in his work shop wearing a brown plaid shirt and a white t-shirt underneath with blue jeans. Shawn felt like something was wrong but he needed to get his shopping in this week so he stood up and walked over to his shutter door opening it, while to door was opening he through about the traffic in town with a frown “can I be bothered “ he spoke to himself a little before walking out the door to his old 69’ mustang. Shawn gets inside his old car and starts the engine, it took a few tries to start up but it eventually fired to life causing him to smile before pulling out of the workshop drive way and getting on the road heading towards the town centre listening to the news on the radio he became more and more concerned. @Quinn Fox

Alea was mid-way through a College degree in Business management. Her spare time spent at the Rock Gym. A hole in the wall from the outside between the commercial businesses... But it felt like home. She sprawled out on the Mats of the gym before her first group was scheduled... a boy scout troop wanted to do team building. She slid down as far as her legs would let her close to a split. By the end of her warm-up that shouldn't feel tense anymore. The owners... Products of the 70s and unwilling to change their ways... were still a cash-only business, they barely had a media presence. She had worked her way up from volunteer to the key holder in a few short years. Hopefully, next month she could build them a Facebook page and Instagram. The artistry behind the gym was beautiful. Walls built out at angles, murals painted from floor to every bit of the ceiling.... She let her eyes wander as she stretched. She'd have to pull the ladder to the office loft before they arrived. Kids touch anything... And if she really needed to get into the office... she could climb. The news never interested her much. Always one bad story after another. Instead, she listened and talked with her friends and coworkers. It may seem like a poor idea, but if it doesn't impact her life in a major way... She didnt really want to worry on it. Alea combed her fingers through her messy blue hair and tied a loose bun up. Her bare feet on the cool cement floor she began the process of unlocking doors and turning on lights and air filters.

while sitting driving down the street Shawn turns off his radio and takes the back roads to get to the store. The store looked empty when I pull up so I park by the front door before walking inside to see no one around causing me to frown almost with an uneasy feeling and with that feeling I decide to turn around and walk back out deciding to try some where else. Shawn swift gets back inside his car before pulling away from the shop driving a little faster than he should be, he engine growled as he went down the empty street and then suddenly the radiator hose blows casing steam and smoke to bellow from the engine. Shawn pulls over to the side of the street luckily making it to the old gym he climbs out and slammed the door hard then he kicks the front fender with a growl!! “ god damn!” He says before taking a few steps back then walking around the to the passenger side door he reaches in to his glove box to take out a pistol from inside tucking it in the back of his pants. Shawn locks the car before walking inside the gym reception “ hello ?” He calls out as the receptionist wasn’t sitting in the chair at the front “ I just broke down and need a ride anyone around ?”

This is my favorite 30 minutes of the day. No one in the gym, music playing low in the phone tucked into my thigh pocket. I free climb (something you are not supposed to do in the building) and check ropes and belay devices for the day. The slam of the heavy metal door pulls my attention and I look at my holds. Twenty feet up near the ceiling... Tilted in a crack? My tow hooks a large yellow hold and I let my arms straighten to lean into view. "Hi, I'll be down in a minute." I flash a bright smile and make sure Im warm and welcoming... Its a small business. Customer service is key. My practiced hands find each well-chalked hold on my way down and I bend my knees as I land on the mats. "Sorry. Its a little hard to hear up by the air units... What can I help with?" I explain, pushing some hair out of my face and leaving some white chalk on my forehead in its place.

I stand across from this woman who looked friendly and wanted to help, maybe it was just customer service or maybe she was just enjoying her job. I clear my throat and then nod “ uuh… yeah sorry I just broke down on the way to the town centre I need some bits from the shops…. I was wondering if you’d be able to help me out “ I pause before noticing the chalk on your forehead causing me to give a small smile, like you had calmed be down from my annoyance with the car “ I can pay you if you need that, I know traffic might be bad “ I say with genuine intent. I place my hands in my jean pockets and then stand looking around the gym turning to face the climbing wall “ huh like climbing ? “ I ask while taking my right hand from my pocket and I place it on the wall “ I haven’t climbed in years “ I add @Quinn Fox

"Unfortunately... Im the only one here for another... Hour." My silicon wristwatch counts doen to a helper with the boy scouts. "If you dont mind waiting... I know the center isnt that far, I dont mind." She offered the best she could. Sure she was the only one here... But Mark wouldnt mind her running out for a few minutes

I turn and smile facing you, I hold out my arm and open my hand “ where are my manner I am Shawn and I wouldn’t mind a lift if you could manage “ I felt like a weight had been lifted “ it’s been a strange day I haven’t seen many people around seems like those stories on the news are getting closer too “ I say while walking over to my front desk which I lean against @Quinn Fox

"I usually roll in pretty early." She glanced up at the few belay devices left. "Mind if I climb and talk? Got a few more safety checks." She thumbed over her shoulder, but turned to face him as he leaned on the desk.

I nod and watch alea climb up the wall doing her safety checks casing me to smile “ you’d hate to see my shop it’s definitely not a safe place for people to be in “ I laugh a little before taking out my phone and see I had no reception “ looks like imma need a lift back too “ I put the phone away as I look back to her climbing down off the wall after doing all her checks “ have you heard from anyone this morning ? “ I asked curiously as it kept playing in my mind, three customers had missed appointments and that wasn’t normal around here. At least not for my shop @Quinn Fox

Aleas fingers dipped into her chalk bag to keep her hands dry while she climbed. Each rope surveyed for damage, each Gri Gri tested. She glanced back down as he asked questions. "Nope. But we dont really open till 11." Alea realized she ignored his question. "Sorry. Im still a little spacy this time of day. My names Alea." She gave a quick wave and stretched to reach a far away hold with her toes.

I smile and then nod while continuing to watch her stretch on the wall it was very captivating for me, I notice that it might be rude or come across perverse so I look down at the ground hoping not to have caused offence. I stand and wait for her to be for her to be done with what she was doing before walk to the wall with a feeling of relaxation washing over me, I felt refreshed in a way “ I do apologise for any inconvenience that I might bring you “ I say leaning against the climbing wall while looking bar the woman climber @Quinn Fox

"Enh. Shit happens." My shoulders shrug as I make my way back down. People watching at the gym is hardly something new. Whether you looking at technique or physique... It didnt much matter. I start pulling safety harnesses out of the closet and setting them in batches of ten beside him at the desk. "Know what's wrong with it? Or did it just quit?" I make conversation.

I smile and then nod looking through the glass door at the old car sitting out the front “ yeah it’s the radiator hose nothing big but I’d need a new part and a screw driver but I have neither so I’d come collect it tomorrow “ I smile and then fold my arms while watching her doing her work “ do you need payment for your help I don’t mind “ I say with glee. Outside a few trucks drive by at speed, the engines growl and the tires bump the ground making noise causing me to get a small flash back to my military service “ odd ….” I say while looking towards the door with a frown “ how long will you need before you can help me out “ I ask hoping it wouldn’t be taken as rude or me being impatient @Quinn Fox

"Mark will be here any minute then I can leave. Cant leave if Im the only one here." I explain again. Setting up paperwork and whatever else I can think of to make the day easier. I know waitings no fun... But the job comes first. Thankfully Mark pulls up in his truck and parks next to my car. "Thats him. Just need a minute to explain." I nodd out the huge bay windows.

I nod and then stand to the side allowing you to do what you needed to do, I watched you moving back and forth in my mind I was thinking about how good looking you where and I was slightly ashamed of thinking it, but I couldn’t help it . I see a man getting out of a truck outside causing me to smile to him as he walks through the door with a backpack over his shoulder he noticed me and nods towards me before walking over to you, asking what was going on today as well as what I was doing. @Quinn Fox

"Hey, nope... Car troubles. Would you be good here for like 20 minutes while I ran him to the shop in town?" In my travels I pass a mirror and notice the chalk, wiping it clean. Everything is pretty much set, after giving me a quick are you sure look out of sight of the customer... I nod. With a shrug, he kicks his shoes off and climbs one of the pillars to the loft. It was common practice to block it from the boy scouts. "Good to go." I slide my neon-painted toes into flip flops and grab my keys. It isn't till Im standing directly next to Shawn that I notice the height difference. I have to cran my neck to make eye contact.

I smile looking down at you I then walk to way other door opening the door for you so that we might get set underway. I wait for you to walk past so that I might close the door behind you “ he seems nice. Are you and him a thing or just college…. “ I pause and then place my hand on the back of my neck “ sorry I don’t indeed offence “ I say while walking with you towards your car “ I do hope the trip doesn’t take to long I’d hate for you to be late for anything “ @Quinn Fox

"I'd hate to be late too." I agree and unlock the car. No... Mark and I arent a thing... But it was a strange ask that I dont care to answer. Just doing my good deed for the day. My car starts and I head down the road.

I sit beside her with a smile before I look out the window at the buildings going past “ hey maybe after I’ve done in town I could swing back around and do some climbing with you, it’s been years but it’s got to be easier without the weight I had to carry last time “ I smile after the question looking over to you sitting in the driving seat. “ Maybe I could show you a thing or too “ I chuckle lightly before leaning back in the seat “ I am okay if you’d rather not I mean we only just me and your being a Good Samaritan “. I look out to the road and see a lot of commotion by the police station but I don’t pay much attention as it wasn’t uncommon for that to happen around here @Quinn Fox

I cant help but chuckle ar the idea. Most guys his size and build say things like that. The lifted at the gym... Or they hiked or whatever... Climbing for the sAke of it? Took more flexibility than Im guessing tall dark and blocky has. "I'll be at the gym till closing." I shrug. If he came in... I could show him a thing or two ... Or actually teach him. That would be cool... Spend time teaching an adult instead of the 40 inbound 6th graders.... "Could always use a climbing buddy." I have learned to keep an open mind... And who knows. This might be someone interested in a membership. I pull into the mechanic's shop and put the car in park. "Good luck Shawn." I hope his fix is easy.... Car problems suck.

I smile and wave to alea as she drops me off “ thank you again I’ll repay you I swear “ a smile crosses my lips as I close the passenger door then I walk back inside my shop before sitting down out the computer to look through my emails, not seeing much other than cancellations and junk mail. I spend most of the day preparing for tomorrows orders getting tools and parts ready for the jobs I day. Other than that I walk around back near the end of my shift and get in the old parts truck I had sitting under an old oak tree. As I get inside the truck I sit for a while thinking about all the happenings going on in the news causing a frown to develop on my face before I start the old C10 pickup truck, it cranked to life with only a few pops and bangs causing me to smile a little. Once I got the truck started I drive it around to the front of the shop over the mud and broken concrete that was once a parking lot for a much bigger shop that used to stand here. While I sit out the front of my shop I think on what I should do now I was about to close, I turn the keys switching the engine off before I hop out of the cab then I walk inside the shop Turing off the lights and equipment that was still running then I had a feeling that I needed to grab my rifle. Just in case. After all the checks had been done around the shop I walk in to my personal quarters with in the shop and I go in to the gun cabinet that hung on the wall close to the door and I take out an old bolt action rifle I had and I also take a box of ammunition from the cabinet. After I sat the gun I walk out to the truck and place it on the gun rack inside the cab and I put the ammunition inside the glove box. In a way it made me feel less like I was in danger @Quinn Fox

Alea's day was about as expected. Screaming crazy boy scouts breaking rules and bringing flashlights into the caves built into the walls. She climbs... Instructs... and day dreams for the day. Its nice out, and her good deed was certainly good to look at... Once the troop is gone her and Mark straighten... Putting things away and opening to the general public.

I start the engine back up in my old truck and then pull away from the workshop Turing the radio on to the local music station of course old rock n roll was playing in this country town. While driving towards the gym I notice a few things out of place, a few abandoned cars among other things but it all seemed rather odd the feeling it made me feel was uncomfortable. After driving a few minutes I pull up in to the gym parking lot and park next to my old 69” mustang. after I had turned the engine off in the truck I slide off my plaid shirt and then hop out of the truck, going straight for the bed of the truck I pull out a few screwdriver and a wrench before walking over to the mustang where I pop the hood and examine the blown hose with a frown “ what even happened “ I say to myself before I start to remove the old hose to replace it with a new hose, it only took a few minutes to replace the hose but I parts and tolls made it that much easier. Once done I turn and face the gym before walking through the front doors to the reception and still no receptionist at the desk, I had a bad feeling that kept growing and growing but I was here to enjoy my self and I would “ hello ?” I call out as I walk in to the gymnasium when I see mark and alea setting everything up “ oh hey “ my voice was more friendly now as I walk over to the two “ uh what’s with the receptionist? “ I ask before looking towards the door I had come through to see the empty desk @Quinn Fox

"Im technically rhe receptionist." I chuckled wiping my hands on my leggings and wandering over. "Decided to come climb?" I ask hopefully. Its always fun to out climb someone. To give them pointers and help.

I felt a relief as you say that you where the receptionist “ oh that’s good I have had a bad feeling all day “ I say as I look up at the wall with a smile “ it’s been a while if I am honest, last time I climbed properly it was in Afghanistan “ I pause and then place my hand against the wall feeling the fake rock against my hand I smiled and then looked back to alea standing watching me “ tell you what I’ll make a deal with you “ I say with a smirk “ if I beat you to the top you let me buy you a drink after your shift, if you win You lose nothing “ @Quinn Fox

"You're not allowed to climb without a line...." I can't help but blush at your forwardness. "How bout we play take away... Winner orders a pizza." My counteroffer was easy. There was a pizzeria next door... And instead of a bar with a stranger... We could have dinner where Im comfortable. Even if it went bad it wouldn't be as bad as it could be. I head toward one of the closest to grab. Roll of neon tape from the shelves. "Just need a waiver and your shoe size." She began setting him up through instructions.

I smile and then take a few steps away from the wall before nodding “ I can do pizza, and I’ll sign whatever you need and my shoe size is a 12 “ I smile as I take off my boots and socks walking back and forth a few times by the wall. I stretch my shoulders, arms and back “ suit me up I think I am ready “. While looking up at the wall I have a slight flashback moment from Afghanistan , a giant cliff handing over the desert was what I could see in my memory it made me smile a little “ oh and chalk I need a chalk bag “ I say snapping out of the day dream and Turing to face alea @Quinn Fox @Quinn Fox

Alea took his paperwork, sliding shoes and a chalk bag across her usually empty desk. "I will still have to keep an rye on climbers... But." She tossed the roll of tape to him. "I assume you know how to play?"

Shawn nods as he gets his climbing shoes on and then steps in to the harness, as he pulls it up and starts to tighten the straps around his thighs and waist. When Shawn was finished he looked over to alea with a smile as he dips his fingers in the chalk bag he then looks at the wall “ you going to let me practice or are we just going for it ?” He asked in a playful manner at this time he wasn’t having the bad feelings he had been having all day, instead he was just focused on winning if he could I mean this was her job after all and he was a mechanic who hadn’t climbed in years @Quinn Fox

"If youre okay with me belaying..." She motioned to their general size difference. She would end up off the ground.... Which disnt bother her... But it bothered some.

Shawn smiles and nods before walking over to alea and looking at the rope he would be using to hold her with, I knew how to belay from past experiences “ I can belay you easy I’m sure that I am much heavier than you anyway “ he said as he picked up the end of the rope he would be losing and then watched for alea to clip her self in so that he could then support her @Quinn Fox

"Oh. Im climbing without a rope." She chuckled. A few steps to his harness to unclip the support line from him. Playful eyebrow raise and she handed him the climbing end. "When you fall... I'll raise off the geound... But its still safe because we'll slow and meet about here." Her hnd guestured to the height just above her head. "And youre definitely going first. Make the climb. Pick your hold." She was full of payful tones... Covered in chalk and happy in her element.

Shawn smirked a little as he places his right hand on the wall and then his left foot before then starting to climb up the wall. Maybe a little shaky at first as he climbs but soon getting in to a rhythm as he extends his reach and uses more complex holds. As Shawn reaches half way he looks back down and smirks at alea “ not bad huh ? “ he said as he started to climb again trying to be as fast as he could he starts getting more and more confident making more difficult reaches and hangs. He had almost made the top of the wall when he slips from his grip and falls suddenly casing him to almost scream out of surprise. As Shawn and alea meet in the a tangle of ropes he smirks at her and winks “ almost… almost “ he says before she had let them both down to the ground causing him to laugh looking up at the wall “ well if you don’t make it to the top I guess no one is buying “ Shawn jested as he wipes the chalk from his fingers @Quinn Fox

Alea yelped as her feet brushed and then left the floor. Her weight slowed his fall abd the ended up bumping into eachother hanging mid air. "Got a little over zealous.... Did you?" She grinned up at him before controlling her descent and then his.

Shawn smiled at alea before he folds his arms and then gestured to the wall “ let’s see if you can do it shall we “ he knew full well should could but he also had a plan maybe he could distract her “ I’ll pay if you make it to the top and I’ll even throw in a tip for the climbing “ Shawn unfolds his arms and then takes the rope from the Harness right before he slips out of the harness @Quinn Fox

Alea yanks on the straps of her harness. It easily slides over her skin-tight leggings. Neck craned in thought as she planned her route and hands steeped in chalk. "Tell me. Does pinapple go on pizza? Your answer-" she grunted and jumped for large movements on the wall. "Matters."

Large graceful movements brought her up the wall with ease.

Shawn almost didn’t hear what she had said as he was looking at her physique with amazement “i uh… yeah I like pineapple on pizza “ he says before trying not to see like he was looking “ alright I have a question… what is the best kind of milk shake ? “ he asked while watching her climb @Quinn Fox

"Awe man. There was such promise. Pineapple.... Does not go on pizza." She chided hanging from her hold to look down at him. She didnt care that he was looking. She certainly had. "chocolate cookie dough... You?" She reached the top and stemmed on some larger holds to look down triumphantly.

Shawn folds his arms and then smiles up at her “ I would have to agree with that and it looks like I am buying h huh “ Shawn walks over to a bench to take off the climbing shoes before putting his socks and boots back on he thought about what to say or do next as he genuinely liked this woman but didn’t know what he should do “ how long do you have left until you want me to take you for pizza “ @Quinn Fox

"Im on shift till eleven... But we can go sit at one of the tables on the other side." She gestured to the cubbies and picnic tables in the other half of the gym.

Shawn smiled and then nods “ yeah.. sure I can do that “ he then stands uk before talking his wallet out of his pocket then he hands alea a fifty dollar note with a smile “ fair is fair “ he said hoping she wouldn’t refuse it @Quinn Fox

She assumed it was for pizza, she yanked her phone out and called Anthonys next door. "Pepperoni okay?" She whispered between nicities. It didnt occour to her that he was trying to tip.

Shawn ticks the money in her hand before walking over to the booths that had been pointed out to him before. As he sits down he watches her following him on the phone “ hey… let me know how much and I’ll give you the money for it now “ he still had his wallet in his hand, it wasn’t anything special just a black worn leather skin with a Sargents badge sown in to it. Shawn waiting while she filled out the order through the phone . @Quinn Fox

"You already did." She still had the bill pinched in her hand as she joined him. "Anyways.... We're gonna have to get you back on the wall... You werent half bad." She compliments. The rank made sense... He had that aura about him. She didnt ask though.

Shawn smiled and then looked across to the wall “ it was a passion a while ago before… well before the world went crazy “ he smiles a little as he then points to the money “ and that is your tip !” He then takes out a little more money and slides it to her “ that is for the pizza, I’m not a materialistic person trust me “ Shawn puts his wallet away before stretching his arms up and behind his head causing him to make a slight growl, he didn’t normally do that kind of exercise so he had a few tight spots on his shoulders from the climbing @Quinn Fox

"Oh." She seemed a little lost at first and leaves the money on the table between them. "Already sore? Might want to switch to flexibility training instead of weights." It was an edcuated guess. She had watched his arms flex as he climbed.

Shawn smiles and then lays his arms down on the table before nodding “ yeah your probably right. Old habits die hard though right ?” Shawn gives alea a smile as he scoots the money across the table before folding his arms over his chest “ so… tell me something about you “ he asked while looking across his eyes meeting hers “ what else do you do apart from climbing ? “ he adds to the question before she could answer as he knew it was a very broad question @Quinn Fox

"I spend way too much time at the animal shelter... And Im in school for business." She scrunched up in her seat. Hands pulling at her toes and stretching. "What about you? What do you do?" Alex fidgeted, tilted and otherwise moved around. Ball of energy

“ me ?… I fix things not just cars but small things like old stuff “ shawn paused as he looked down at his watch “ other than that it would be around this time I would go hunting, I don’t do it for sport I choose to know what I am eating “ shawn looks up across the table with a frown “ I know a lot of people are against it and I understand why. But other than that ? I work out in the workshop I own and travel every few months “ shawn then places his hands on the table, his palms facing up and on his right hand he had a large scar trailing the length of it. @Quinn Fox

Alea couldnt help but chuckle. "Youre a mechanic and your car broke down?" Sje asked. You'd think he'd have a better grasp on his own vehicle.

shawn smiled and laughed as he nods “ you’d think I would know to replace the hose before it blows “ shawn gives a smirk before nodding again “ I know the irony believe me… plus who says it wasn’t meant to happen, I mean I am here now with you because of it “ @Quinn Fox

"Yeah? Mark not your type?" She teased. It could ha e very well been him. She just got there first.

“ mark ? Nah he doesn’t quite have the right attributes I look for “ shawn gives a smirk as he could smell the pizza cooking from next door casing him to smile “ oh man that smells good “ @Quinn Fox

"Anthonys is my go-to. They're pretty fast with service too." She nodded in agreement. "What about the caves? Wanna try that next." She gestured up to the tunnels built into the walls.

shawn looks up at the tunnels causing him to smile as he nods “ looks like fun, I’m sure that it is something that I have only done once “ Shawn paused before looking down at his hands and then rubbing the scar with his thumb “ you seem very active I’m surprised you don’t have a hunky man chasing you around “ Shawn laughs a little @Quinn Fox

"In order to be allowed to go in, you have to forst grt through that." Alea pointed over her shoulder at a heavy box with a triangular cut out in it. "Its the sive of the roof supports. We couldnt cut into them... so thats the smallest space." She explains

shawn nodded as he then looked back at the heavy box before Turing back to face alea when he does he then looks out to the side where the front door was located seeing that time most certainly had past since being in the gym he was enjoying him self, you know what they say about time flying “ hey… what time is it my watch is behind “ he said as he looks back to alea “ I don’t mean that to sound rude it just seems different outside you know ? “ @Quinn Fox

Alea leaned back so she could see the clock on the other side. "Oh wow. Its 7. Anthonys never takes that long." She stood to call them. "I can always go grab it. No big deal." She shrugged.

Shawn looks at Alea with a confused look on his face “ maybe we should go check ? “ he asked while slowly standing up from the table… that feeling he had before was back and stronger than ever “ hey… this is going to sound strange but I’ve had a bad feeling all day, like something really bad was happening and we just didn’t know it… “ shawn paused shaking his head “ I mean it’s probably nothing right ?” He asked as he took out his phone to see a lot of notifications texts and emails from people he knew all over town. Liam frowns deeply as he looks down at the phone reading his messages… they didn’t make sense odd ramblings about getting out of town not stopping to help people, one message stands out among the rest { the head stops them } shawn was well and truly spooked to the point his eyes showed it. @Quinn Fox

Alea was too wrapped up in her own little world to fully watch his shift in demeanor. She was picking up around the gym toward the door while calling next door. "Hey Mark?!" She called out looking around for him. "People are supposed to put these in the bin." She hung up and frowned. "No answer next door Shawn... You wanna head over or should I?" Alea leaned out and looked him over. "You okay?" Her tone softened.

shawn looks from his phone to Alea with a frown still on his face “ I….uh…I don’t know but something is going on “ shawn tries to ring the number the message comes from but nothing casing him to put his phone away “ maybe we should go check together ? “ he was more worried about her safety than anything else. Shawn looks around the room standing still he could see it was more empty than it should be “ what happened to mark I thought he was working over there by the back door ?” Shawn felt a feeling he hadn’t felt in a long time, not since he left the army “ Alea…. "Trash is out the back..." She continued clean up. "I still have to lock up, or wait for him to be here." Alea grabs up a harness and looks him over. "Yeah that kind of feeling sucks." She was hesitant to leave with someone she'd just met. "Everyones got days like that."

Shawn looked towards the back door with a frown before then shaking his head and sitting back across from Alea “ no.. I don’t think you understand “ he says as he shows her the texts he had received about the town he looked straight in to her eyes hoping that she could see what he could “ something bad is happening and we need to leave town now !” His voice was very authoritative when he spoke, not like before. @Quinn Fox

"I agree thats bad." She returned his phone to him and fidgeted in her seat. Nervous glances looking for Mark. This guy had seemed normal enough. The not-date had gone well... But that does not translate well to... 'We are leaving town together' She drew in a deep breath looking around the gym. Why werent there more people...? More witnesses?

shawn take his phone back before putting it away in his jeans pocket. He knew that it all seemed strange him asking her to come with him but then again maybe it was for the best. Shawn sits quietly for a moment “ I could always go check on mark for you and then you can make up your mind weather you want to come with me or not “ shawn had hoped she would see his reasoning “ if something is going on we should go to the police station or one of those military check points “

"I can go find him." She suggested and didnt wait for him to stand. Maybe a little distance between them would help with all the weirdness. Hell Maybe Mark had started kicking people out so we could close early. She started making up tons of reasonable excuses as she crossed over the padded floor toward the propped open back door.

The back of the gym seemed normal as I could until alea sees mark pushing and shoving a man who seemed to be attacking him. After mark is able to push the man away, the man wobbles slightly before falling down the hill behind the gym causing mark to put his hand to his neck groaning in pain “fucker bit me “ he moans while walking back towards alea blood trailing down his shirt and through his fingers. Mark didn’t know how back the wound was as his adrenaline was pumping but as he was a few steps from alea his eyes widened before falling to his knees with a cry of pain “augh this isn’t good “ he mutters out of his panting breath it had only been a few moments since he had been bitten but his skin had changed to a pale white and his eyes had become reddened @Quinn Fox

"What the fuck?" Worry in her voice she rushed to her friends helping hold his neck. "We gotta call 911." Alea ducked into his line of sight, sinking with him. Pale skin only worrying her more. Was her firend going to bleed out before she could get to the phone? "Mark, buddy. Need ya to stay with me." She tried to haul him to his feet. Her attention on the phone at her desk. Main goal keeping her friend alive.

Mark looks up from the ground and shakes his head “ n…no go get help !” He pleads as he crawls over to the wall which he leans against holding his neck by now sirens and gun shots could be heard from around the town… something was happening and it was happening now ! . Shawn heads the gun shots and sirens outside causing him to walk over to the front door seeing cop cars fly down the street caused him to feel in danger “ what the fuck !” He mutters to himself before walking towards the back door in hopes that alea was alright . @Quinn Fox

Alea sprints past him. To the desk to call for help. Blood on her hands but ultimately not worried about that. She brushes past Shawn ignoring him entirely with her sole focus on her friend. He already looked unnaturally pale. Alea picked up the phone to find no tone. Its moments like these she was thankful for their old-school phones. Heavy clicking on the button that hangs up the phone... still no dial tone. "I can't call out." Fear building in her voice.

shawn watches alea sprint past him causing him to frown a little bit then he notices the blood dripping of her hand causing him to instantly walk out the back door where he sees mark blessing on the floor “ oh shit!” He shouts, mark was barely conscious when Shawn kneels down to him “ are you alright buddy ?” Shawn asked. Mark replies with a shake of his head causing Shawn to scoop him up in his arms and then he carries mark through the back door straight to the front desk where he sees alea trying to phone out. Shawn places mark on the desk before looking at alea “ that’s a fucking human bite mark what the hell is going on !” He says before rushing over and grabbing the first aid kit then he takes it back over to mark. Before Shawn could even open the box he sees that mark isn’t breathing anymore causing his eyes to widen but he instantly begins CPR on the man a few minutes go by but nothing casing Shawn to step back a few steps with a frown “ I…I uh “ he was at a loss for words for once he had nothing he could say . @Quinn Fox

"I dont know." Aleas voice high and worried as she continues to try the phone. Glossy eyes watching Shawn try to help her friend as she fumbled for her cellphone hoping that had service. "Why are you stopping?" Her voice cracked as she cane back in cellphone in hand. She knew why one would stop CPR... But disbelieve and shock at the aituation left her tearing up and expecting an answer.

Shawn bows his head and places his hands on the table beside mark with a frown on his face “ I…. I’m sorry he is dead “ shawn takes a few steps back and then looks at his hands covered in blood. After a few minutes he looks up at alea and then to mark before shaking his head “ alea what did you see out there ?” Shawn asked before checking his phone for signal seeing no bars he began to realise he was right things where happening and it was bad @Quinn Fox

"Some guy fuckin bit him." She almost screeched. voice full of fear and Anxiety. "Theres not even a road back there. It's train tracks." Alea shook her head starting to cry and suck in air. "What the fuck?" She shook her head no, eyes locked on her dead friend. "wHYaRENTtHEfCUKinGphONESwORKING?" Alea tossed her phone at the ground in frustration.

looks up at alea before shakes his head “ I think something really bad is happening here and whatever it is we are on our own “, outside gunshots get closer to the gym and more police cars scream down the street ending with screeching tires causing Shawn to walk over to the glass door to peer down the street. Shawn could see a police road block at the end of the street and it seemed like a crowd of people charging at them, maybe twenty people formed this crowed. Suddenly the police open fire on the crowd causing Shawn to recoil away from the door “ what the fuck !” Shawn rushes back to alea when he sees mark sat up his eyes bleeding and his skin now white “alea !! Get away from him !!” @Quinn Fox

Alea trailed along behind him. Jumping at the gunfire and yelping. Wide scared eyes looking between Shawn and what just happened. "You say that-" her words trailed off and she wandered toward her friend as he sat up. "Mark?" Hope in her voice she didnt get to close, having barely registered Shawn yelling with everything going on.

mark slumps over and stumbles as he gets to his feet and for a moment he looks dead at shawn his eyes had no emotion, no humanity. Shawn could see this wasn’t mark anymore so he reaches around behind him and then places his hand on the grip of the glock he had tucked under his shirt. Marks gaze turned to alea before he took a few steps forward reaching out with his left arm, mark then stumbles a few more steps but now with a growl in his throat the steps changed from a walk to a run very quickly. Shawn quickly pull the gun out and pointed it at mark letting of one shot that strikes mark in the top of his head. As mark falls to the ground he hands grips alea’s foot now mark lay motionless Shawn walks over and places his hand on aleas shoulder “ I think I know what’s happening “ he mutters quietly while looking at mark “ im… im sorry for mark “ @Quinn Fox

Alea screeched covering her mouth as her friend dropped for a second time in the last twenty minutes. His words barely registering she ducks out from under his hand. Too much going on to want to be touched. "Why do you have a gun?" She practically shouted hysterically.

Shawn takes a step back from alea before offering her a bow “ please calm down “ he said softly before then looking up at her “ it is for my protection the world is a dangerous place and I… “ shawn paused before looking at mark laying on the floor with his head broken open “ please we need to leave this place it’s not safe look at him “ he points with his free hand hoping so some sort of co operation although he knew it was unlikely @Quinn Fox
