ROLEPLAY HQ - group-work

Chris slumped down onto the table as he got into his classroom, or at least his new classroom. It was his first day of college and to be honest he was feeling kind of let down. He had been hoping for something more exciting, something more filling. Maybe he had watched too many films about college and his expectations had gotten too high. Instead of there being parties on the first day that ended the classes early and drinking there witing, and working, so much work. He was ready to drag himself back to his apartment and pass out on his bed. Now he just had one more class/ It wasn’t a normal one though the classes were all mixed with the other departments. It was to help people to work in groups better. He took a seat down at random not caring that much about who sat next to him before he leaned down resting his head against the wooden table. Trying to rest his tired eyes. He half paid attention to the professor that spoke hearing the man say something about needing to do a presentation on a topic of their choice and that their partners will be the two people closest to them. At the news, he sighed opening his eyes to see who his two partners would be before his eyes widened as he saw two very beautiful women. @Nakachu @gweniee

It was a brand new day and a brand new class that Gwen was attending. In all excitement she was just looking around the class to check her fellow classmates out and figure out about whom she'll bitch and with whom. As she carefully looked at people to check how they behave, a weird talent that she had. She curiously looked on to a girl right next to her. She wasn't aware that Gwen was literally staring at her as she was quite into something she was scribbling in her book. Gwen thought about starting a conversation with her but she was suddenly interrupted by the professor who just announced some BS group presentation and that too with some random people. But there was something that got her excited and made her smile face wide. Partners were supposed to be the two closest ones sitting and that meant a decent looking guy and the girl she set her eyes on already. This was going to be super fun she said to herself.... ofcourse not aloud but in her mind. @JackWhite @Nakachu

Unlike everyone else that had filed into the room, Hannah preferred to keep to herself. She brushed her blond hair behind her ear as she looked around for a spot to sit down. One secluded preferrably, but there was none. The only space that was left was next to a girl and a wall. At least the wall gave her some solitude. She sat down and started to stall out her things. A notebook, tablet and pencase. Even before the teacher started to talk she was scribbling small doodles into the paper. Something that, judging by the page, she did quite often. Because of this she never noticed Gwen's stare and she had not even seen the guy that was on her other side. Only when the teacher spoke did she put her pen down and paid attention. Unlike Gwen she was not excited about the announcement at all. In fact she hated it.. she looked at the two beside her, knowing they became her partners automaticly and could tell she was in trouble.. the girl was beautiful and looked like confidence itself and the guy seemed interested in nothing at all. This was going to be one of those wasn't it? Where she ended up doing all the work. But despite that she waved her hand at them both and forced a smile. Maybe they would surprise her.

Chris saw Gwen before he saw Hannah his gaze checking her out as he got a good look at her. The woman was beautiful with short blonde hair, and she had a smile on her face that made his heart race. His gaze then turned to the other woman who looked like she was just as social as he was. But he found her beautiful he couldn’t deny it. Her hair was longer than the other women's, her features were fair as she gave him a smile that did not seem quite as energetic as the other woman. His eyes scanned along with the two women before he was brought from his thoughts by movement as the shyer looking woman waved making him sit up straighter before he smiled at them. His tiredness was forgotten momentarily as he smiled at them both. “It’s nice to meet you two I’m Chris, Chris Denner.” He greeted the two of them with a soft smile before he leaned back and patted down on the two chairs next to him. “If we’re going to be partners, do you two want to sit closer so that we can discuss things easier?” @gweniee @Nakachu

Gwen waves excitedly looking at the girl next to her who looked like as if she didn't want to be friends with her but had no choice and then she turned towards this guy next to her who was clearly way ahead in his own thoughts. "Hi, I'm Gwen. Reynolds. Nice to meet ya" She introduced herself brushing her short hair behind her ears. She sat down much nearer to Chris's table as they waited for the third person to come soon. She surely was someone who didn't socialize a lot but there was something about her. The innocence maybe. That would be her USP "Hey, c'mon. Let's start it ASAP. Chop chop" Gwen hurled in annoyance as she took her own time to just get up and come to them.

The moment she was called over she stated to gather the things she had stalled out just a few minutes before that. Clumsily keeping them between her arms and the pencase almost calling from her elbow, barely able to catch it. She was just making her way over when the girl already told her to hurry up even if she herself had barely moved. “I’m coming..” she said quickly as she leaned down in an attempt to grab her backpack while still balancing all the things in her arms. She finally made it over to the table where Chris was sitting and just let everything fall from her arms into the desk before she placed them back where they seemed to belong on the table. She then sat down just as Gwen decided to join them as well. “I am Hannah.. Hannah Witlock.” She said to them as they had all told her their names. As social interaction were not her strongest point she opened the notebook and opened a blank page that had not been filled with her many doodles. “So.. what do we wanna do a presentation about?” @JackWhite @gweniee

Chris smiled back at Gwen when he saw how excitedly the woman had waved, turning back to her when he saw how quickly she was sitting near him. She seemed to be social which he was glad about it was going to make talking to her much easier. “It’s great to meet you too Gwen,” he told her watching the women push her hair behind her head before he hummed as she rushed the shy woman. Hoping that he would help her to be more patient he quickly lifted his arm before he set his hand down on her leg, giving her a slight squeeze. “I’m glad that your excited to get this started” He leaned forward when he saw that Hannah was struggling with her stuff about to try and help her before he realised that she was too late. That she had already set her stuff down making him hum. As she sat down, he nodded back to her smiling as she introduced herself. “That’s a pretty name Hannah.” He told her before glancing down as she saw her open up her notebook. “I’m not sure what do you two want to do?” He asked them with a grin before he noticed a package on the desk. “Maybe this is important.” He guessed before opening it up and gently sliding it over to Hannah. @gweniee @Nakachu

Gwen quickly glanced over Hannah. She looked sweet and very simple who just loved to be in her own world. She couldn't stop but stare at her as she starts scribbling on a brand new page in her book. While she was engrossed in her cute little activity, her attention was diverted by Chris as he slid a package towards her. "Umm, you want me to open this?" Gwen looked at chris giving a puzzled look as she picked it up and quickly opened up the package throwing away the packaging aside. "Ohh wow, it's a blindfold" Gwen claimed as a small paper fall on to her lap. She picked it up and started reading it with light murmurs. "Uh-oh it says we got to record human behaviour upon tasting few food items with a blindfold on. Also, we need to guess what exactly the food item is" She says looking at both of them who were eagerly waiting for Gwen to spill the beans about the project. @Nakachu @JackWhite

She was glad that the other two seemed to be taking the stage so she could just sit back and watch. Her hand was already slowly scribbling on her page. Though it wasn't because of what Gwen said but just because she needed something to do with her hands. She only looked up when Gwen talked about a blindfold in the box. "A blindfold?" That seemed like a strange thing to do a project about. She looked up and leaned forward a bit to look at it. When she explained what they needed to do she couldn't help but feel a small bit uncomfortable. That was a lot of trust to put in two people she didn't know. It was one of the few reasons she regretted this school.. the amount of times you had to do group projects was high and often they were very involved, not just writing a paper. "Well that sounds.. doable." Was all she could say. "Guess we would need a list of foods to use then.. maybe like sweet and savory and hot. Different textures and temperatures too.." she said, trying to come at it from a logical standpoint.

Chris nodded back at Gwen when he heard her question smiling back at her softly before he returned his attention to Hannah noticing that the woman seemed to be entirely engrossed in doodling before his attention returned to Hannah as he heard what their project was making him hum. It seemed to be much more fun than the kind of project that he was expecting, he had assumed that they were going to need to write a paper about a foreign country. A taste-testing project sounded much, much more interesting. “It definitely sounds more fun than something like writing a paper about a war or a different country.” He hummed before he nodded in agreement at Hannah’s idea. “We could also do a test where we try different brands to see how our expectations affect the result. Like we could rate Pepsi, coke and a none branded version normally and then we can compare them while blindfolded so we don’t know which is which. “It shouldn’t be too hard to get our hands on a blindfold either, how about we go out for food today and discuss things more over dinner?” He offered the two of them before he sat up straighter. “I think we can go whenever now are either of you hungry? I know a pretty good place that’s nearby.” @Nakachu @gweniee

Gwen was pretty excited about the projet to be very honest. She was also happy with the fact that even Hannah had her own inputs to this whole assignment. There was more thing Gwen needed to get out of her system which she reluctantly did. "Umm, folks. I do have a blindfold with me right here in my bag" She said pointing to her bag and wondering what would they both think about her. Why on the earth would she have a blindfold and that too in a school bag? "I-use it for taking a quick nap while I go from college to home. My place is far" She quickly kind of put a reasoning to it in order to defend her stand looking at their strange look. "So? Let's go. Get some food, sweets, chocolate syrups and get in with the project. Shall we?" Gwen said with some excitement in her voice as she put her free hand on Hannah's shoulder gently. @Nakachu @JackWhite

“That is actually not a bad idea..” she said as she looked up at Chris. She couldn’t help the smile on her face. It had been a long time since she had been in a group that had actually suggested things that they could do and use. “Because everyone has their preference in brand and non-brands, but does it really matter?” She uttered. She was starting to feel a small bit more comfortable with the group. She couldn’t help but knit her eyebrows together a little bit when Gwen took out the blindfold, but she quickly just accepted her explanation. She wasn’t the type to confront others about things like that. The sudden hand on her shoulder made her jump just slightly even if it was so gentle. She just quickly looked up at her and smiled awkwardly. “Okay.. so.” Hannah said bending over her notebook. She started writing down a big list of things that they would need to go. It was a mix between foods that tasted strong and bland, some stuff they could do the brand, non-brand tactic. She also added the chocolate syrup, not entirely sure why but since Gwen had said it she added it anyway. She ripped the page out and then started to stuff the rest back into her bag. “Does one of you have a big fridge that we can use to keep the things in that go bad?” She asked looking around. She herself had only a small dorm room, the fridge barely holding what she needed in it. @JackWhite @gweniee

He tilted his head in surprise when Gwen admitted to them that she already had a blindfold, his brow raising as he wondered why. At her explanation he nodded smiling softly at her. ” That’s convenient.” He mumbled before he pulled himself to his feet at her suggestion to get started. “I’m down that sounds like fun to me.” He told her finding Gwen’s excitement to be infectious as he walked over to the two women not missing the way that Hannah had jumped slightly from Gwen touching her. He hummed when he saw her writing on her notebook, smiling softly at her as he was glad that at least one of them was responsible enough to write notes. “I’ve got a minifridge in my room my roommates kept taking my food so I got one.” “My place isn’t too far from here, and my roommates tend to be pretty quiet so if you two want after we’ve eaten and brought all our stuff, we could head back to my place to discuss things more and maybe even get things started.” He offered before he leaned forward to gently try and take Hannah’s hand into his. “Come on let's get some food I’m starving.” He told them before he gestured with his arm as if to say he could show them both the way. @Nakachu @gweniee

Gwen picked her bag up and started walking towards the door where they got on in a cab toa supermarket for buying the groceries they needed. "So, let's split up. Chris you buy veggies for us? Me and Hannah would get fruits and syrups" She said looking at Hannah who was just lurking around and looking at every other place possible but not towards Gwen. She just hit her with a gentle tap around her lower back to grab her attention with a chuckle. "Hannah, where are you?" She asked. "Did you listen to what I just said?" She frowned upon Hannah who just looked like a terrified kid being scolded by her mother. @Nakachu @JackWhite

When Chris came forward to take her hand she didn’t take it back, even if it was mostly because she did not want to offend him. His hand was warm and big, almost consuming the entirety of hers. She would be lying if she said it was not pleasant. She simply let him lead her along even if she made sure to keep a bit of distance between their bodies. Even in the back of the cab she was closer to the two of them then she would have most likely preferred. To her they were still strangers, even if she liked them so far. She was squeezed in between the two of them as they made their way to the shopping mall that included the supermarket. She was glad when it was time to get out. Once they were out she got easily distracted by all the people around her. It took Gwen’s voice to bring her back around. “Ooh uhm.. yes, fruits!” She said, quickly playing back the thing in her head that she had missed. If Chris agreed with the split up she would move her own way with Gwen. She unfolded the list from her pocket and looked at what she had written down. “We need banana and apples.. maybe some berries? Like strawberries and blueberries.” She started to mutter. Again she was trying to just concentrate on the project as making small talk with Gwen made her feel anxious. @JackWhite @gweniee

Chris smiled as they got out of the cab, feeling Hannah’s hand rest in his before he had released her to get into the cab. When they got up and he heard Gwen suggest for them to split up he nodded in agreement. He didn’t want to separate from the others but he knew that would be the quickest. “That works for me he said with a smile not missing how Gwen had to get Hannah’s attention by touching her lower back, it seemed that she didn’t do all that great with crowds. Just before he split up from them he quickly walked over to them placing a gentle hand on Hannah’s shoulder. “I’m trusting you to take care of her while I’m gone Gwen.” He told the two of them with a playful wink. “we can meet back up to by some chocolates and more general snacks.” He suggested to them release Hannah’s body before he made his way deeper into the store over to the fresh produce section.

Gwen grabbed Hannah's hand and went on towards the fruits section while Hannah was still thinking about fruits to buy. They quickly stopped by the fruits counter. "So? Get that list of ours out and start buying whatever we need" Gwen said looking at Hannah which sounded more like an order to her from Gwen. "And also one more thing" She said as she came closer to Hannah, close enough as if she were gonna kiss that poor girl. "I hope you can figure out which berries are good and which aren't" She chuckled as she turned around in no time to look for some bananas to go with.

She let Gwen take her hand and lead her along even if she followed rather clumsy. When they finally reached the fruits and she let her go she quickly scrambled for her list again, but before she could really focus on it Gwen was right into her face. She almost jumped back, her eyes just a tad wide. The hue on her cheeks slowly changing to a pink as she was unsure how to respond to the sudden closeness of Gwen. Their lips were barely not touching, Gwen’s touch tickling her lips with their warmth. “I hope you can figure out which berries are good and which aren’t.” Was all that was said in the end. Gwen pulled away simply heading over to get some bananas as she left Hannah just standing there. It took her a second to even move again, then a few more to look around her, afraid that people were staring at her. She moved a hand up to brush her hair in front of her face a little bit to hide her burning cheeks before heading over to the berries. Now unsure of what she should even pick she took a pack that had both blueberries, raspberries and strawberries all in one pack. She placed it down in their cart just as Gwen came with the bananas. Just looking up at her again had that blush refresh. What had she thought was going to happen? That Gwen had actually been about to kiss her? Of course not.. she was just being awkward, like she always was. “So.. just apples and.. maybe a mango..” she said in a soft voice that didn’t hold much strength in it at all. @JackWhite @gweniee

Having no one to talk to it didn’t take Chris long to grab enough veg for their group, the few snacks that he had seen that he thought would be good he quickly added to the basket, humming a small tune as he wondered how the others were doing. He was pretty sure that Gwen would be fine, but Hannah seemed much shyer. He found them while they were still picking fruit, making him smile glad that he hadn’t missed them, when he noticed that Hannah’s cheeks seemed to be flushed still his grin quickly grew wider. He wasn’t sure what exactly had left her so flustered but if he had to guess it was Gwen. “Hey I’ve got the vegetables are you two done grabbing the fruit? I think we’ve just got the candy to grab now.” He told them with a small smile when he heard managed to catch up to them. Before he reached with his free hand to try and take Hannah’s free hand in his. “Your face looks a little red are you sure that your feeling well.” He asked her softly his thumb rubbing a gentle pattern against her knuckles. He was pretty sure even as he asked the question that Gwen was responsible for her flushed cheeks and yet he found himself asking just in case. @Nakachu @gweniee
