ROLEPLAY HQ - diamond-and-lead

I walk through the halls of the Palace, My boots clicking against the floor at my swift pace. My expression is cool and collected as ever, alert as I make my way to meet with my new charge. I finally stand before the grand doors and knock, announcing my presence and awaiting permission to enter "My lady... I'm here as was requested" As I wait for a response, I can't help but look around discreetly, marveling a bit at the fine quality of the Palace.

Jessalyn turned her head to face the door that was knocked upon. She had been informed that a bodyguard would be assigned to her due to her..."unladylike behavior." She got up and walked to the door, opening it herself. "Greetings. As you may know, I'm Jessalyn." She poked her head out of the door, looking to see if any guards were looking. "...I prefer just Jess. Or Lyn. Jessalyn is pretty but a mouthful."

I can't help but let a small smile slip through as I see your demeanor, the height difference between us is going to be quite the humorous sight I can imagine. After you introduce yourself I bow slightly giving my own introduction "Understood, though I hope you don't mind if I call you Lady Lyn in public at least. I am Edward Skellions, your now personal guard and footman." My face is abnormally fierce for most people but those who know me understand it's just how I look. Rising again, my face goes back to being... well.. as neutral as it can be "I look forward to working for you"

She smiled widely to him, sadly she was a bit shorter so she had to look up. "A pleasure to meet you, Edward. And that's fine, I know you have a job to do and all that." "Well, you might regret saying that. I'm a handful, it's why the even assigned a body guard to me in the first place." @Lufftewaffle

I chuckle a bit, my smile returning for just a moment. "Well that's probably why they chose me then. And as I said before, I still look forward to working for you" The smirk disappears as quickly as it was shown. My posture is not as strict as most military men, though I look no less alert or disciplined. I look down at you with a bit of an inquisitive glance "Since I'm to be your guard, will you be heading out at all today, or should I expect to stand outside your room for the time being?" I'm a bit... blunt at times, not rude persay, but very straight to the point. Another holdover from my previous time in the guard.

"Well, I was going to probably head out and explore the gardens a bit. Maybe just take a walk since I've been stuck in here all day." Jess added with a shrug. "Gonna follow me around then?" @Lufftewaffle

"It is my job after all, I'll do my best not to ruin your stroll though" I try to give a more assuring smile. "Though If you'd like some company, I'd be more than happy to provide that as well. As interesting as being a statue that follows you around sounds, I find talking to be a bit more fun" @Loni

Jess smiled widely at the guard and shrugged, wanting to tease him a bit. "Isn't part of your job now to follow me around, hm? Make sure I do not get into any serious trouble?" She would jest, folding her arms across her body with a grin. @Lufftewaffle

I smirk as I hear your teasing, a spark of mischief in my eyes. I bow exaggeratedly my voice like reciting Shakespeare itself with my acting "Oh of course your highness, lady Jessalyn." I hold my chuckles in barely as I give my performance

Jess laughed and shook her head a bit, stepping out to close the door behind her. Her heels lightly clicking against the floor, a faint echo as well. She sighed and jokingly rolled her eyes as she made her way past him. "Come along now. We have a garden to explore!" Jessalyn would beckon him to follow, laughing as butlers and maids give amused looks. @Lufftewaffle

I chuckle lightly before returning to my usual... somewhat cold demeanor as we go through the more populated halls of the castle. I walk just behind yourself, my steps very audible with my boots. I remain somewhat silent as we head to the gardens, though on the inside, I'm rather excited to see more of the grounds @Loni

The princess would wave to everyone as she passed. At least she was friendly with everyone. Once they got outside she hiked up her dress some, carefully walking down the steps. "Okay! Now we get to walk around and see the giant garden and all that. It's pretty neat." @Lufftewaffle

As I pass by the others in the halls, I nod lightly to each of them, showing a bit of respect to all the others which serve the crown that they deserve. Stepping outside I survey the scenery for a moment taking in the beautiful artistry of the garden plots before following you my boots thumping lightly behind yourself

Jessalyn looked back to the guard with a grin, amused by his reserved and cold stature. "Are you this serious alllllll the time?" She would then laugh, making her way along the stone sidewalk to the entrance of the garden. With a beautiful archway, lined with flowers and foliage, leading them into a grand garden that one could only imagine. @Lufftewaffle

after following you around to the gardens proper, I can see there are no people around at the moment. I relax a bit finally giving you the ghost of a smile "only in public, ive got to keep up appearences after all." I give a slight chuckle before I keep up with you, just behind yourself as we head further into the gardens @Loni

"You and me both." The Princess would groan, shaking her head. "Hair this, dress this, makeup, nails, jewels...it's just SO much." Jess grumbled to herself, walking and keeping her arms folded. @Lufftewaffle

"I'm sorry to hear it's so tough for you" I start walking beside you instead of behind, our height difference rather evident "though.. I'll do my best to make it more bearable for you" @Loni

She chuckled a bit and shook her head. "You don't need to worry so much, I promise. My struggles are far different then everyone else's. I just try to stay happy and do whatever that takes. Although that's why I often get into trouble." She smirked, walking around the vast garden, stopping at the rose section. Various different colors of roses grew here, and she plucked a yellow one. @Lufftewaffle

i can't help but smile at the scene, quite a beautiful one if I'm honest. Seeing a lively girl like yourself enjoying herself among the brambled flowers. I lean down for a moment, plucking a white rose with red speckled among the inner petals "I can respect that, I do much the same. though from what ive heard, your sort of 'fun' is a bit more rambunctious than mine" I chuckle deeply next to you @Loni

Jess giggled quietly and watched him pick a rose himself. "Oh yeah. Can I ask you something?" Jessalyn would speak, turning to face her guard with a now almost...mischievous look on her face. "Have you ever left these castle walls without anyone knowing?" @Lufftewaffle

"Well it's not as if I'm constantly under watch like yourself Lynn." I chuckle a bit turning the rose in my hand with my eyes focused on it. "Though, thats not to say I did in my younger years" the corner of my mouth stretches up in a smirk @Loni

She would grin widely at him at chuckle a bit. "Well, you've been appointed to watch me for a reason." Jess then glanced around and turned away from him, starting to run into seemingly just a hedge wall. Though when she got closer to it, it seemed there was a small break in the hedge that she either formed or was there to begin with. Either way, it was masked perfectly by the foliage outside of it, and she slipped through the opening. The other side though, would just be inside the castle walls still. She would look back briefly to see if the guard was following, before running off again along the castle wall, looking for her exit point she always used. @Lufftewaffle

I see you disappear for a moment before finding the break in the foliage. Ducking through the best i can with my large frame, I come out the other side with a twig situated in my hair. Pulling it out, I run to catch up with you keeping pace a bit behind you. My eyes grow sharper but my grin remains as I give chase to the most interesting princess I've ever met. "Right behind you Lynn, and yes.... There was a reason, it's that I won't let you out of my site so easily" @Loni

Lynn hummed in thought and turned to exit through a guards entrance and exit hallway in the wall. Of course the guards passing through weren't too shocked to see the Princess running through, they knew she would be caught regardless. Once she went out the exit she was faced with the outdoors of the castle, and the whole kingdom in her view. She smiled at Edward who was pursuing her, and she kicked off her heels to start trying to run off, if she had enough time. @Lufftewaffle

Despite your own speed I'm also quite the fast runner and I'm quickly gaining on you, the eyes of a predator stalking their prey... perhaps a bit more playful than that but it's still a bit intimidating. Though the smile I have on my face does not falter, my boots clicking on the cobblestone. "You'll have to try harder than that Lady Lynn" As I pass by the same guards they come to attention as I pass by but with grins on their faces at the amusing scene. @Loni

Lynn laughed and faltered on her running eventually, giving up and slowing down to catch her breath. She did make it pretty far but the castle was still in good walking distance. "I...tried...running away in a full dress isn't easy.." @Lufftewaffle

Eventually I catch up to you, slowing down and stopping with a chuckle, my own breath still relatively even. "Hehah. I can see that Lynn, my sister used to say very much the same" I pick up your heels, stowing them into a pouch on my uniform. "I'll keep ahold of these for you, wouldn't want to lose them." @Loni

Jess pouted irritably and folded her arms. "Hmph...soooo...how much is it going to take to like...let you look the other way while I run off?" @Lufftewaffle

Chuckling at the adorable look youre giving me "hmmm, probably a coup?" My smile is warm as I laugh, and tease you, just a bit
