As someone grabbed her hand, she froze, as if her entire body just ceased to live. Carefully, she turned, keeping her gaze downcast as her body faced this other person. A woman, judging by her stature and clothes. Taking a deep breath, someone knocked into her, making her stumble, yet she managed to keep on her feet. Her stomach was rolling as the smoke of the room got thicker, the blasting of voices and music making her head spin. She needed to get out of her, but it wasn't like she could leave this person, who seemed so bent on learning about her. No one took the effort to confront her before, and that in itself made her curious. Biting her lip as she made her decision, she grabbed ahold of the woman's hand, telling her to follow, though her voice was lost to the chatter of the party. No matter, she should have made it clear enough as she turned, hand clasped onto the woman's to pull her along with her.
Outside, Lacey took a deep breath, releasing the woman and pulling her hand away, putting a safe distance of a few feet between them. She had heard what she had said inside, and anxiety now coursed through her. What rumors was she supposed to address, for there could easily be hundreds coursing through the school. She hadn't paid enough attention to keep the gossip straight. She could have sworn for the brief time they were in contact that her skin tingled with electricity, her own magic mingling with another's, but she wrote it off as merely being nervous about someone touching her. "Wh-what do you want?" She asked, voice quiet, and far harsher than she had meant to sound. She was naturally defensive, but when it came to possible rumors, it put her even more on edge. She let her hair cascade into her face, shielding her face from the scrutiny of the other. "If it's nothing...its best we part and not talk about this again."
