Music from the stereo blasted through the house, bodies crashing into one another. Drunken party-goers stumbling around, spilling red party cups filled with who knows what. In one corner stood a group in leather jackets, some smoking, others toying with the girls too drunk to care. Bile rose in her throat as her eyes glanced over the crowd, careful to avoid the faces of the people. Her classmates. Well, prior classmates. Graduation. Just hours before they walked down that aisle, collected their diplomas and left the high school for good. For some, it was a chance at a fresh life, the beginning of their college careers. Others it was the end of learning, the start of their jobs in this small town. For her? It was the end of her safety, the start of 24/7 hell. She bit her lip as her emerald green eyes dropped to the floor, her hands clenching onto her arms. The sheer sleeves of her black top offered no warmth, not that she was cold, but it made her feel bare, exposed. Uncomfortable. Why had she come here? She didn't even like people, couldn't look at them without risking their lives. What was she thinking? 'I wanted to be normal. Accepted.' She reminded herself. Even if these people didn't know her, spread rumors about her, avoided her, at least it was better than home. So desperate was she for attention that she'd accept even negative attention to the absolute lack of it from her family. Disowned for five years now, she was a nobody back home. At least here... At least here she was counted as one of the outcasts. She was still someone. As someone bumped into her, she shrank back towards the wall more. It was time to go. There wasn't anything for her here, and as the night went on it would only grow worse. Slipping through the crowd, she headed for the door, her movements flowing as she made her way out. @RoseGardens

The crowd of people here was almost sickening to Jade. She didn’t particularly like many from her school as it was fairly run down. She attempted conversation a few times but most were too far gone to really talk to. And many were handsy having to shove people off her at times. She was finally at her limit. Her friend who invited her was already in a back room with some guy she wanted to get with. She already made sure she was safe but this is her friends house. She sighs as she just wants to go outside and clear her head. The smell of smoke and alcohol too thick for her liking. As she began to exit she noticed her. A girl she had only seen in passing a few times. One that everyone whispered about. She kept her powers hidden and it’s possible this girl does too. Especially with the rumors. She’s never even seen her eyes which was odd. The traces of magic around her were odd as well. She followed the girl watching her exit she follows behind her. Grabbing her hand quickly to stop her. “Hold on I wanted to talk to you. “ she says holding onto her. “I want to know what you are. Is what everyone says true.” She says letting go.

As someone grabbed her hand, she froze, as if her entire body just ceased to live. Carefully, she turned, keeping her gaze downcast as her body faced this other person. A woman, judging by her stature and clothes. Taking a deep breath, someone knocked into her, making her stumble, yet she managed to keep on her feet. Her stomach was rolling as the smoke of the room got thicker, the blasting of voices and music making her head spin. She needed to get out of her, but it wasn't like she could leave this person, who seemed so bent on learning about her. No one took the effort to confront her before, and that in itself made her curious. Biting her lip as she made her decision, she grabbed ahold of the woman's hand, telling her to follow, though her voice was lost to the chatter of the party. No matter, she should have made it clear enough as she turned, hand clasped onto the woman's to pull her along with her. Outside, Lacey took a deep breath, releasing the woman and pulling her hand away, putting a safe distance of a few feet between them. She had heard what she had said inside, and anxiety now coursed through her. What rumors was she supposed to address, for there could easily be hundreds coursing through the school. She hadn't paid enough attention to keep the gossip straight. She could have sworn for the brief time they were in contact that her skin tingled with electricity, her own magic mingling with another's, but she wrote it off as merely being nervous about someone touching her. "Wh-what do you want?" She asked, voice quiet, and far harsher than she had meant to sound. She was naturally defensive, but when it came to possible rumors, it put her even more on edge. She let her hair cascade into her face, shielding her face from the scrutiny of the other. "If it's nothing...its best we part and not talk about this again." @RoseGardens

Jade sighed as she confirmed her suspicions. This girl had magic if she knew or not. She looked back at the house as she took a deep breath letting it out. She let her red leather jacket slide off her shoulders as she brought her hands up. Soon a barrier forming around them. This would conceal them from others and allow for a private conversation. It almost looked like they were standing in a box as she spoke. “I know you have magic you don’t have to lie to me. I promise that’s safe especially since you know I have magic as well. You definitely felt that when I touched you.” She says as she sits down. “Come I just want to talk. You don’t need to worry.” @Kat Nightheart

The formation of the barrier had her gasping, eyes growing wide as she looked around. What in the- no. No no no. She wasn't allowed to interact with those outside of her family. She was the outcast, the hated one. The guard dog they used to threaten others who tried to claim they were more powerful than her family. She wasn't allowed to be around others with magic. What if she messed up, put her family name to shame? Beginning to shake her head, she took a step back, her heartbeat pounding in her chest. This was proof though, she hadn't imagined it. To think, there was another witch in her school this entire time...what would her mother think, the rest of her family think if they found out. She hadn't had a clue until this moment. How foolish could she be? Starting to chew at her lip, she sighed. It was too late to act like this never happened. Without moving any closer, she nodded to the woman. "Fine...then talk." She stated, trying to act bolder than she felt. So many things could go wrong, every worst case scenario flying through her mind. 'Just get through this conversation. That's all you have to do. Answer some questions, and then you can leave. Maybe even get home before mother even finds out I went against her word and mingled with the mundane.' She knew the last part was her being over hopeful. With another magical energy around her, there was no way someone in her family wouldn't find out that she had disobeyed. A shiver ran over her skin at the thought of the punishment to come.
15:37
She shook her head to rid herself of the quickly darkening thoughts. That was enough of that, her focus should be on the fellow witch before her. If she wanted to salvage any sort of reputation she had within her family, she had to think smart about this. "But know that I have questions of my own for you." There was a quiver in her voice, betraying the façade of bravery she was trying to adorn herself in. Damn her fear of others. She tried to ignore it, straightening her posture as she looked towards the woman, her eyes adverted to the side. As long as she refrained from making eye contact, they could both walk away from this encounter safely.

“Oh course this isn’t an interrogation, I simply wanted to meet another person like me.” She says sighing. “Must you be so tense, I’m not trying to get you in trouble.” She says to her. “I promise I have no name, I don’t belong to some family of mages. I was cursed at a young age. I was adopted by someone who taught me how to control my power. But they are dead and have been for a few years now.” She says a pain in her voice. “No one knows I have magic power. It’s linked to the ink on my back not a more common source.” She says. She stands back up giving her a slight glimpse of her tattoos. “I just want to make a friend with someone who understands.”

Hearing the words of the woman, she closed her eyes tightly, nodding slowly. "Right...my apologies.." She seemed to be on the verge of saying more, yet she didn't. Not being the best in any sort of social situation, she was slowly growing awkward. "Even if you have no other aim than to make an ally, I fear to tell you that I am not who you wish to associate with." The way she spoke was stiff, this formal approach what she used when her mother ordered her to interact with other powerful supernatural families. If she wasn't formal, how else did one talk to another? A friend? It was a word which meaning eluded her. Sure, she could use the definition, but having never possessed a friend before, the weight of the word was nothing to her. Her curiosity was piqued as she heard how the magic was linked to the tattoos embedded into the woman's skin. A curse? What type of curse would that be? Her mind began to think, searching for the curses she read about in her free time. More often than not she could be found in the library, delving deep into research of the ancient grimoires her family owned. Though more often she was deep within the Daemone crypts, and looking through the ancient, and more than a little forbidden, texts that were buried alongside her family. Despite her studious nature, she couldn't recall the exact type of curse that granted the victim power via markings. That was certainly something she wanted to investigate, but, in order to do that, she'd have to risk spending more time with this person. Perhaps...perhaps it would be worth it to attempt to make a friend. However that worked. "Okay." She finally said, as if she was settling a debate. "What did you want to know?" @RoseGardens

She looks at the girls face studying her as she thought to herself. Understanding that she may not see her situation as a curse. But it’s more than what’s she’s said. Not only is her magic attached to her markings. “It’s an entity. I was cursed to house it in my body. That’s why it’s a curse.” She didn’t want to elaborate further as it was a touchy subject to say the least. Taking the beast inside her took years and many casualties along the way. And the guilt she bares is immeasurable. Being she has never truly known other magic users. She only knew her mentor. Keeping in her pain. Taking on a happy but rough facade. When all she wants is someone to connect with. And talk to. She can’t even remember the last time she’s cried. She shakes her head as she looks to her. “You may not but only time will tell. I wish to know someone that can understand what’s it’s like to hide your true self from everyone. Someone who has hurt others and bares the guilt.” She shakes her head. “Sorry I can’t speak on your behalf I don’t know your story.” She says looking away. “I’m Jade, it’s nice to officially meet you. I want to ask why did you attend this school. I’m sure there’s ones much better suited for you.” She says. @Kat Nightheart

Oh, things suddenly got far more interesting. An entity? "So like a possession?" She asked, not meaning for her thoughts to be blurted out. Maybe this woman had a calming effect on her, maybe it was her sheer desire for attention, but her normally carefully hidden thoughts were being spoken aloud for once. Quickly her hands slapped over her mouth and she looked away. 'Stupid, stupid, stupid! Stop talking!' She mentally yelled at herself before sneaking a glance towards the woman through her curtain of hair. The conversation progressed, and it seemed this person knew her so very well despite them only now meeting. Paying more attention, she could notice the slight details of pain, the familiar signs that she herself used on a daily basis. "Sorry..." She muttered, biting her lip again. That had been insensitive to ask, for while she was born with her power, it was as good as a curse to her. She didn't want to talk about hers, so why would this person suddenly go all out with her problem? The next words had her subtly nodding. No one seemed to understand the fear she held for herself, the pain she endured knowing how many people she had led to death through her visions, and the many more that had been driven insane. The guilt spoken of was a friend of hers, perhaps her only friend even. Always there in the deep recesses of her mind, chewing at her soul and festering like an infested wound. While she may have been speaking on her behalf, not a bit of it was a lie. Lacey had done terrible things with what her family called her gift, and knowing she was the cause of pain...well...there was a reason she kept her skin hidden from prying eyes.
18:27
Torn from her quickly darkening thoughts, she nodded, showing she acknowledged the name. Jade... "Like the gemstone?" She asked, voice softer as she struggled to pull herself from her mind. "I'm Lacey..." She wasn't sure why she spoke her name. Everyone knew her name, she was infamous throughout the school. The question asked was so surprisingly mundane, that her head twitched up to look at Jade's face, though as usual her eyes were averted. This could end nicely as long as eye contact was avoided. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and she was pretty sure that was true. She mulled over how she would answer the question for a moment. There were so many answers she could give, so many simple, easy lies she could tell, but...something made her hesitate. The idea that this person, Jade, could become her friend, could maybe understand her...she found that she didn't want to lie. Taking a deep breath, she let it out in a sigh. The truth it was. Well, at least a partial truth. The full truth, she wasn't ready to share that quite yet. "I didn't want to go to the academy with my cousins. While mundane's can be cruel, at least they cannot cast hexes." It was a point that she felt would be accepted easy enough, and it held a valid truth. It was hard enough to live in the Daemone Manor alongside them, for at least there they were kept civil by their parents. If she attended the academy they did, she would not be safe. In a world where it was dog eat dog for humans, it was so much worse for the supernatural. Add magic into the mix, and it quite literally could become a blood bath. @RoseGardens

“Yes I suppose you could call it that, but I’ve learned to control it and ignore what it wants from me.” She presses her back to the cube as she slides back down to sit. Talking about it only makes the creature inside her scream out. Especially with a witch in front of her. “It’s ok I know you didn’t mean it to be rude.” She says looking up to the girl. “Nice to meet you Lacey.” She says with a slight smile. “Yes it was his favorite stone.” She says looking off as she sighs. “I didn’t have a name when he took me in. Some abandoned cursed child at his doorstep.” She says as she touches her shoulder. She continues to listen to her speak understanding that she was safer around humans. As long as she kept her powers under wraps. “Yes that does make sense. I do have another question. Why won’t you look at me. I’ve never seen you make eye contact with anyone.” She says knowing there is more to it than she’s simply awkward or shy. “You don’t need to answer but I can assume it’s for good reason.” She says looking up. She glances at Lacey’s eyes they were looking away from her but she could still see the color. “Your eyes are very beautiful.” She says. @Kat Nightheart

Her teeth caught her lip again at the question. Not only was she not good at talking about herself, but just like Jade had her sensitive topics, so did she. "You aren't the only one cursed." She stated, letting her head drop, her hair cascading around her face again. Her shield, even if it couldn't do much, it helped make her feel safer to be around others. This also hid the reddening of her face, her pale skin doing nothing to hide her flushed face. So used to being degraded or insulted, the change to a compliment had caught her off guard, and stole her voice. "I- uh-" Stuttering like a fool, her hands moved to her hair, her fingers starting to tangle the ebony locks. "Th-thank you..." Her voice tapered off into a whisper, squeaking slightly in her embarrassment. Her mind quickly searched for an escape, to turn the conversation back onto Jade. It was far easier to listen than to talk. "Does.... Uhm..." Any form of bravery or boldness had vanished, her voice softer and her mind scrambling for words. "Y-your mentor... D-does he kn-know you a-are talking t-to me?" Her teeth gritted together, her stutter starting to bother her. Her facade of boldness was gone and she was left being her awkward self around others. Some Daemone she was. She may as well be dragging her family name through the mud. She could already hear the lecture awaiting her at home. She had no right to be called a Daemone when she was so nervous and awkward. Silence quickly fell between the two as Lacey seemed to want to say something, but failed to voice it. Her feet shifted beneath her, her body finding it hard to stand still now that her awkwardness and fear was showing and getting to her.

Jade’s lips quirk up to a smile as she watches the girl stutter and struggle to speak back to her. A slight laugh escaping her lips as she sighs. Hearing her ask about her mentor her smile slowly fades again. “He’s dead.” She says looking away as now she’s a bit more closed off about the subject. Jade shook her head as she stood up. “Do you have any interest in being friends? If not I really should get back. “ she says with a sigh. “I still think you could give me a chance. I’m sure I could be helpful or something.” She says grasping at straws before shaking her head. She didn’t know how lacy would take this action so she did it quickly. Stepping up to her and wrapping her arms around the smaller girl. Giving her a soft hug. She gently rubs her hand against the girls back. But just as soon as she had hugged her she gently pulled away. “Well I’m sorry to have waisted your time. I promise no one will know we ever talked.” She says turning her back to lacy as she bends down to pick up her jacket.

Hearing that the person that seemed so revered by Jade was dead made her stop. Oh....oh. Clearing her throat, she rubbed at the back of her neck, biting at her lip. Her embarrassment almost instantly dropped. Guilt rushed through her chest and she blinked in surprise for a moment until she found her voice again. Just as the uncomfortable guilt began to seep into her bones, Jade spoke again, saving her from the guilt for a moment. "I- I've never had a friend..." She admitted, her fingers digging into her arm. She didn't have a clue where to start with a friendship. Not to mention... "My family wouldn't approve of me making friends with someone not holding a name with power in the supernatural community...It would have to be a secret.." She said, feeling like a simple teen hiding the fact they snuck out to party or something. Her family was amazing at making her feel like a child, half the time she could hardly believe she was an adult. "But...uhm-" She stopped in what she was saying as Jade's arms wrapped around her. Lacey's entire body froze in her fear, she hadn't even had enough time to flinch. Every muscle tensed against the simple act, something so gentle being a touch she had never experienced before. The warmth from Jade's body seemed to sink into her skin, making her almost want to sink into her, but she refrained. She wasn't...that touch starved. Awkwardly she cleared her throat when she was released from the embrace. Her back tingled from where Jade had touched her, and her face was once again a bright red in her embarrassment.
15:50
Nodding, she bit her lip, debating. Should she...She stared at Jade's back, watching as she picked her jacket up. Time was running out, if she could only get the words out...It was dangerous. It was stupid. She knew better but...A friend seemed nice. Not to mention, she wanted to learn more about this curse of Jade's. Could it be connected to her at all? Most likely not, but it was enough of a reason for her fear to dissipate for a moment. "Meet me at the Daemone Mausoleum, in the cemetery." She suddenly blurted out, looking at the ground in fear of Jade's reaction. "Tomorrow...Night....If- If you want to be friends..." She said, squeezing her eyes shut. This was stupid, she should have kept her mouth shut. Why would anyone be willing to go to a cemetery for a simple friendship that would do them more harm than good? Already she was turning away, expecting Jade to laugh at her. It was easier to be ridiculed when she didn't have to see their face.

“I don’t care what your family or anyone else thinks. If you need to hide me from them I don’t care. I’m willing to risk it for this to work out.” She says pain in her face as she looks over at lacy. “Im such a sad husk of a person, I’m so desperate for affection it hurts.” She says laughing a humorless laugh. Hearing her say to meet her at the cemetery she nods. “Fine I guess I will see you there tomorrow night.” She says with a genuine smile on her face. She was genuinely happy she finally had someone at least show interest. “Maybe you want another hug, I have been told I’m quite a good hugger.” She says with a big smile a laugh escaping her lips. The thought dawns on her suddenly. Tomorrow her curse will be strong as the moon is full. She bites her lip as she weighs her options. “Lacy, if I meet with you tomorrow I need to be able to stay in a place where I will be contained. I don’t want to cause anyone harm but I do still want to meet with you. It would definitely let you learn more about my curse. You will get to meet the son of a bitch. “ she looks over to her. “If not I have a cell I use for the night of the full moon I can bring it with me.” She says to her thinking. @Kat Nightheart

A weak smile graced her lips for a moment at the empty laugh. That made two of them, but she didn't think she could handle anyone getting too close to her at the moment. "T-tomorrow night. Yeah..." She said, rubbing at the back of her neck. This was the first time she'd try to hide someone from her family. Could she do it? Or would they find out and she'd be in trouble? Now that high school was over, there was no doubt she'd be sent to the academy for further education. She couldn't escape it, but maybe with a friend it would be easier to survive. At the mention of another hug she shook her head. No, she was afraid of the affection, afraid of being touched. A hug could easily be turned against her. Affection, it was always a lie it her. Hearing about how her curse would take over, she nodded. "I...We'll be in my family crypt...There's only bodies down there...and us." 'And I don't mind if I got killed.' She silently added. It was wrong of her, she knew, but really, how bad would death be for someone like her? But that wouldn't be fair to Jade. She shook her head before nodding again. "I think at one point someone in my family was turned werewolf. There's a cell with silver and iron chains...I don't know how yours uh...works...but if you need it...that's there." Her voice trailed off. Was she being insensitive? It felt like she was being rude and insensitive of this curse Jade had to deal with. Quietly she dug her nails into the back of her neck, a silent order to herself to shut up already. "A-Anyway...I...I should go..." She mumbled, half glancing up to look in Jade's general direction without looking at her face. @RoseGardens

“That should work fine, I have enough control over him that a cage should suffice. But for safety you could always keep me chained while we talk. “ she says thinking about him. His voice always present in her mind. At this point some of her own being has mixed with his. The end of her and the beginning of him lost to her by now. “I want to warn you I think you may know who he is when you see him. Most witch who have seen his form can point out exactly who and what he is. He still remains a mystery to myself. I can’t remember what he looks like. “ she says looking off into the distance. Form? So she changed forms? Her curiosity was piqued even more, but before she could say anything else, the magic around them was gone. Strange how quickly it was dispelled without any sort of word or concentration. Jade was gone just as fast, her figure vanishing into the house, the music spilling out into the yard while the door was open, but muting once it was closed again. Left alone in the semi-dark yard, she sighed, running a hand through her hair as she looked up at the nearly full moon. How foolish could she be, and what exactly was she getting herself into? Never mind that, what time was it? She was dead if she didn't get home soon. With that, she began to walk off into the darkness, her own form seeming to vanish into thin air. In reality it was a spell to hide her from view, caution always her top priority. The less people she had to encounter the safer everyone was. As she walked through the quiet town, her mind raced with the conversation she just had. Since when did she talk to people, and make friends? Was this really going to work, or was Jade going to betray her? Or were one of them going to be hurt? They both possessed a curse, both seemed incredibly dangerous. Were they setting themselves up for failure, or would they grow to become an unbeatable force? She scoffed at the last idea. Now that was only wishful thinking.

Far too soon she arrived at the iron gates surrounding the Daemone estate. Sighing deeply, she glared at the crow that was watching the area. Her mother's familiar, great. Groaning, she slipped through the gate and started the long walk up the drive to the dark Victorian style manor. Entering into the house, her magic dissipated as the spells of her superiors disabled it, and she snuck into her room, one of the towers overlooking the grove of ancient oaks and willows. Staring out into the night, she couldn't stop the excitement rising. Tomorrow. Her first friend. Their first meeting. Smiling to herself, she began to prepare for bed, knowing fully well she wouldn't be able to sleep as her mind ran through the events of the night.

Jade ended up helping her friend get everyone who was to drunk to drive to stay the night. Jade made her exit once everyone was asleep. She didn’t have a true place to stay but she had her old mentors cabin and that’s all that she needed. She put herself to bed as she made sure the cabin was safe for the night. Waiting for her opportunity to see lacy again and speak with her. Not excited for the company she would have to entertain. There’s only two times he takes form. During the full moon and when she is very weak. She is what keeps him alive in a sense. She guesses she was supposed to be used to house him and kill him along with herself. But that must have not gone how they wanted. Soon she found herself waking up. Already late as she had gone to bed in the early morning. She began to make her way to the cemetery. She wanted to get there before her transformation. So she could properly secure herself away. Seeing she had gotten there she made her way down into the crypt finding the cell with the chains and locking the door throwing the keys far away from the cell. She sat and waited for lacy to arrive. @Kat Nightheart

As she predicted she hadn't slept a wink. A knock on her door signaled it was day and the general hell of her life began anew. Subjected to torment by her cousins and family, she went through the grind. As day turned to night, she finally managed to free herself from the endless chores, and she slipped from the house into the crypts. Making her way through the seemingly endlessly twisting corridors, she ignored the skeletons laying on their stone beds, and she managed to expertly dodge the cobwebs hanging from the low ceilings. As she came upon the main hallway, she noticed that Jade had already arrived. Well, that was surprising. It wasn't like just anyone would enter an underground crypt full of bodies on their own. Slowly she walked up to the cell, noticing the door was closed and the keys were thrown across the hall. "Jade...?" She spoke softly, her voice echoing against the stone walls. @RoseGardens

“Hey Lacey it’s still me, but not for very long. Just please promise you won’t let him out. Keep this door shut till I turn back. I had to get down here before he took over. “ she says as she pulls off her jacket. She took her shirt off as his form would rip it off her body. It really showed how big the tattoo was on her though. Soon she felt her body begin to change her skin changing color her form getting more male and bigger. Her height getting significantly bigger and wings coming from her back. Soon she wasn’t a she anymore a demonic man taking her body. A form of a monster most witches should read about when learning how to do magic. She nodded her head at the hurried words of Jade. She seemed urgent and deeply afraid. Concern was rising within her, but she tried not to let it show. Her eyes were drawn to Jade's tattoo, looking over the design in awe. Her awe turned to amazement as her form began to change, the color of her skin turning ash gray. She morphed from the woman she had met before into a demonic form she had learned about in her uncle's private demonology class. Her skin paling, she was cautious to avoid the demon's eyes, afraid to hurt Jade by looking the demon in its eyes. Though she did narrow her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. Never give a demon your name bestowed upon you during your initiation into magic, but her mundane name would be no problem whatsoever. "Lady Lacey Daemone." She stated, her stance seeming to grow stubborn. She had seen her family deal with demons, their familiars being lesser demons themselves, though she herself never was able to manage to summon a familiar herself. "Why would I want something from you? I'm just going to wait here until my friend returns." She stated calmly. Maybe she was a bit too calm for speaking to a demon so renowned for killing her kind, but what was she supposed to do? She couldn't show fear and, to be fair, her own uncle was half incubi. Demon blood seemed to truly run in her family line, just as the rumors said, though her mother and uncle shared different father's, thus she did not contain the same demonic blood her cousins did. Though the chuckle sent a shiver up her spine, she did the only logical thing she could think of to show her bravado, even if it was fake. She sat down across the hall, facing the cell which the demon now occupied.

“Oh a Dadmone I’m surprised. Your family doesn’t normally play well with others.” He laughs. “Now you say your friends with my host how intriguing. She’s never had friends that she’s shown this form to.” He says with a smile. “Unless you count the ones that didn’t live to talk about it.” He says with a smirk. He sits down looking at Lacey. Analyzing her. “Oh you were gifted I see. It’s your eyes they hold a very concentrated amount of magic. “Lacey look into my eyes, I want to see if it even works on demons I doubt it does. “ he says looking over her frame. He was very tall almost 8 feet tall. He was very large. Equating his size he was a higher rank demon. This partially because of all the witch blood he had consumed. “Well why is she letting you see me, did you want to see my beautiful form.” He says stretching his large wings out. @Kat Nightheart

She aimed to ignore him, turning to a previously unnoticed satchel by her hip. She pulled out a small, leather bound journal and a pencil, and had opened it to a blank page, ready to write or draw or literally anything to ignore this demon. "Everyone has a reason to interact with another." She stated, her facade of boldness almost perfect. She was raised with the idea that demon blood flowed through her family line, and while it was written off as rumors as she grew older, part of the idea helped her feel more equal to this infernal creature. "There is a first time for everything. The Daemone family do not fear our servants." She stated. Another thing she had read in an old book found in her uncle's library. Demons were often used for their power within the family, their familiars being lesser demons even. Nervousness rose up within her, fearful this demon would know she was bluffing with her bravery, but she tried to keep it down. Never, ever, show a demon your weakness. She glanced up, avoiding his face but adding onto the idea that she did not care for this demon who could so easily kill her. "Now why would I listen to you and sate your curiosity?" Her teeth gritted as he continued to speak, and eventually she sighed in annoyance. "Please, you're nothing special. Drop the ego, rat." She snapped, her heart leaping in her chest. Had she gone to far? Could the demon leave the cell, even with the magic infused within the bars? Her eyes were drawn to the wings, unfurling and touching the walls. She bit into her cheek to keep the nervous squeak in. @RoseGardens

The demon laughs it shakes the crypt it’s such a booming noise. “Now little mouse if I was so trivial why would so many witches risk their lives to deal me in this girls body. And even now i cannot be killed even when I’m in my weakened state.” He says cocky knowing he was right. It was odd that they had gone out of their way to in prison him. “I can feel your little heart racing. Telling me how terrified you truly are. I can commend you your act is very good. It makes sense your family really is good at culling the weak. “ he says as he moves closer to the bars. He grabbed hold of the bars his face showing mild annoyance but it didn’t hurt him. Jade simply watched as she wasn’t sure what he was going to do. She was not in control anymore. She believed the cage should hold but only time will tell. He quickly puts his hand in between the bars and it extends to grab her leg taking hold of her he brings her back and hoists her up in front of him. Looking into he eyes as he smiles wickedly at her. @Kat Nightheart

She cast a glare the demons way, but when she was grabbed, she yelped. She had severely underestimated the extent of his reach. Shit shit shit I'm so dead. her mind began it's own, strange chant. Her eyes were wide, yet even in fear she naturally avoided eye contact, rather she squeezed her eyes shut and turned her head away, trying to free herself from the rough grasp. "Unhand me before-" she began then stopped. What could she do? Her family would probably be relieved if she was killed, the weakest would be culled then. Falling silent, she slowly stopped struggling, but kept her eyes closed tightly. "Do what you will I'm not risking Jade's life." She stated, sounding like a stubborn child in the instant. She was in danger, she was at a disadvantage while in this demon's grasp. Her mind tried to push through the fear, searching for a spell to free herself with, but she couldn't think straight. It seemed the sheer terror of the demon with his infamy made her incapable of rational thought. She should have just walked away. Why was she trying to be bold? Why did she sit down of all things?

Jade screamed out as she was more angry than anything. The demon licked his lips as he opened his mouth his tongue trying to go for Lacey’s eyes. Clearly he wanted to eat any power she held in them. But soon his tongue stoped. The demons eyes wide as his other hand had been thrust into his own chest. The demon was in shock letting go of the girl as he stumbled back. “Your persistent bitch we will both die.” He says as blood comes from his mouth. He grabs onto the hand inside his chest trying to pull it out of himself. But he stops letting go and raising his hand. “You will give me back control now or I will crush our heart.” The demon becomes openly terrified his eyes wide. “You wouldn’t.” He says with a scared laugh. The hand squeezes a bit tighter as he stagers. He begins coughing up blood before surrendering. “Fine take over.” He says his form converting back to jade’s. But Jade isn’t the same her hands are still that ash grey color and horns adorned her head. She faces Lacey. Her chest bloodied as her hand falls to her side. “I’m so sorry, I knew I shouldn’t have met tonight.” She says as she stumbles. She falls to her back as she tries to stay awake. Maybe she shouldn’t try to heal. But she can’t he will just take over again if she tries to die. And she isn’t sure she has the strength to take control like that. She had never been able to be in control it shocked her more than anything. @Kat Nightheart

She could feel the moist, hot breath on her face, causing her to flinch and try to push away again. Sickness rose up in her stomach as she could only imagine what was going on, but she kept her eyes tightly closed. She wouldn't put Jade in danger. This was her only friend, she didn't care what happened to her she wouldn't risk the life of someone who was willing to accept her. As she was released she fell, body hitting the stone floor suddenly. Her eyes snapped open in shock and she looked towards the demon. The scene revealed to her sent her into shocked surprise. What-why was he attacking his own body? Had she hurt him somehow without meaning to? As he spoke she soon realized it wasn't directed at her. Jade was trying to take control. Heart pounding, her chest started to tighten in panic. If what he said was true, what was Jade doing? Her brows furrowed in concern as she tried to remember a healing spell, even going as far as to flip through her notebook for the notes she wrote down from the old texts she collected during her time in this very crypt. Hearing the one sided conversation, she bit the inside of her cheek. As much as she didn't want the demon's attention on her, she had to get Jade's attention. "Jade stop!" She finally broke and said, standing up onto shaking legs.

She watched in concern as the massive form shrank down to Jade's, though her skin remained ashen and horns protruded from her head. Quickly Lacey shook her head as Jade began to apologize. "Quiet down talking only makes it worse." She said, shaking as she flipped quickly through her book. Color coded notes helped, and she thanked the stars she had thought to color code by spell effects. Her eyes scanned over the small, squished letters in her writing. Healing was equal to how much was sacrificed. Easy enough, an equal trade off. Quickly she went for the key, picking it up and starting to unlock the cell before Jade could argue. "Let's get you healed before you lose more blood." She stated, flinching as the iron door squealed out. Dropping to her knees she began to pull various items out of her bag, one of which being salt purified by the moon light. Looking at it, she glanced up to Jade with an awkward smile. "For... For safety." She explained. She trusted Jade, but she'd never trust a demon. Starting on a circle around Jade, it wasn't perfect but it connected all the way around. Good enough. After that she took a silver blade, the hilt adorned with rubies. It was an old sacrificial blade, restored with magic and collected from one of her ancestors resting place. Soon she began to chant, the silver blade digging into her arm as she drew blood, her life force for Jade's. The deal of messing with life, and she felt it was more than fair. @RoseGardens

“Lacey, I’m fine.” She said as she spit up a. Bit of blood. “You need to get away from me. He could take over again and I won’t be able to stop him this time.” She says before she begins more consistent coughing. Jade rose her hand above her chest a dark light coming from her hand as she began to try to seal off her wound. But she was too weak. It was able to seal a little bit but she dropped her hand and looked to Lacey. “My healing is faster than normal humans. So it should be fine.” Says coughing once more. “I don’t want you to get hurt if I change back.” She says a bit more fear in her eyes. Magic has always drawn upon her demon half so it isn’t as sacrificial as what it should be. But the down sides are having a demon being able to take over your body. Not the greatest outcome. Jade watches Lacey dig into her arm with the blade as she tries to stop her but is far to weak. He hands trying to grab at Lacey but she can’t no matter what she does. @Kat Nightheart

She frowned as Jade insisted she was fine. "Stop trying to be all brave. You were just holding your own heart. Stop moving around you're just gonna lose more blood." She stated. While the majority of her family took to the dark arts for fighting and summoning, increasing their power, she tended to study healing spells. She hoped that it would lead her to a cure to her curse, but it also gave her many ways to heal someone, almost any supernatural creature, and almost any injury. A shiver ran through her as she was reminded of the demon who craved her power. She shook her head, even though the fear. "Let him kill me, I don't care. I'm not going to let you die in front of me when I can help." She insisted. It was foolish, stupid, risky, but that didn't matter. She took risks because she was expendable, and she couldn't stand to see someone else die in front of her again. She watched as the dark energy flowed from Jade onto her wound. She had watched the familiars in her family do something similar. A silent healing given to her from her demon magic, most likely. It wasn't enough though, Jade herself was too weak to expend the energy needed to heal. Lacey was needed after all. "Yeah, and so is any other supernaturals. That doesn't change the fact that you need help now." The fear within Jade's eyes was lost on Lacey. She hadn't even glanced up to Jade's face out of fear of triggering the demon with her curse. "If he's willing to allow his host to die for some pathetic curse, then he's not very smart. Let me heal you, then we'll worry about him."
03:31
Out of the corner of her eyes she could see Jade move her arm, but she was fading too fast to be able to grab her. As usual, her eyes were glued to the blood as it dripped, and she had to drag her attention back to Jade. Moving closer slowly, she was in Jade's personal space, yet she tried to ignore that fact. She was riding on the belief that the demon wouldn't risk it's own life for some magic. Quiet whispers in a foreign language spilled from her mouth, riding her breath as she watched her blood start to glow, each drip that fell onto Jade's wound seeming to absorb into her body. It went slower than she was used to watching, but that was okay. She continued the chant, her voice hardly audible and her skin rapidly fading in color. As Jade's skin stitched itself back together, Lacey's voice faded and she swayed on her knees. Regaining enough focus to move back, she took a cloth from her bag and wrapped up her arm. She'd snatch a healing potion from the potion room later to heal the new mark on her arm, but for now she just had to stop the bleeding before she passed out. "That should... That should help.." She said, her voice quiet as she panted. The energy it took to heal Jade had come directly from her, making her weak and exhausted. It'd pass after a little bit of rest, but for now she was quite vulnerable. Without her notice, she had smudged the salt circle she placed around Jade, making it ineffective at even weakening a demon. @RoseGardens

Jade fought to keep her demon at bay. As he hold on him got weaker as her own body was weak. She felt him bubbling up as she was healing. But she didn’t transform back into the demon state. Her skin grew an ash grey and she began retaining the demonic features. She was able to get enough strength back from Lacey’s healing to raise her hand up of her wound. The black smoke flowing into her wound. The wound began to heal more quickly as she panted. She dropped her hand as her body was now extremely tired. Her body reverting back to its original form. Her chest was exposed and in between her breasts a new marking took place. Jade hadn’t noticed this. She did her best to sit up and hug Lacey. She hugged against her weakly. “I’m sorry, I could have hurt you. Thank you so much for saving me. “ she says her voice breaking a bit. She’s never been so vulnerable in front of someone and it did kinda scare her.

She had hardly noticed the returning features, her attention fully on the spell she had been preforming. Her eyes popped up quickly towards Jade's face before she averted her gaze quickly. "You don't..." She froze as she was pulled into a hug. "Don't... Don't worry... About it.." She said softly, her face starting to blush despite her lack of blood now. Her mind went towards how close their bodies were, how she had never really gone through something traumatic, nor had she saved someone before. She looks down noticing the new mark and staring blankly at it. “Well shit, I’m not sure if that’s good.” She says looking at the dagger shaped marking. “Hm it could mean he’s taking over more…. But it could also mean we are closer to becoming one. I’ve never been able to take control. And or be in a demonic form of my own. I’m hoping for the latter for my own sake. Feeling how Jade was unresponsive to her hug back, she quickly released her and sat back. She was such an idiot. She had overstepped her place and messed everything up, hadn't she? Inching away from Jade, her gaze was drawn to the mark that she had pointed out. Her emerald eyes were looking at the mark, examining the shape. Initially she had reached for her book to draw the shape to look it up later, before she realized where it was located. Her face flushed as she looked away, letting Jade redress her torso before she even dared glance at the woman. "I-i uh..." She was struggling to think over the embarrassment coursing through her. "M-my uncle has uh... H-he's uh... A professor at the A-Academy f-for Demonology... I-i uh... Could... Look it up for you..." She ended up mumbling the last part. What was she saying, she wasn't permitted in her Uncle's library. Quickly her mind was taken from the growing fear of being punished by her uncle or tormented by her cousins, to the scene right in front of her. She shook her head, hair whipping around by how fast she moved. "No!" She said a bit too loud, making herself flinch at the echo of the stone cell. "I.. Don't mind." She said, her voice softer. "Nothing I haven't dealt with before..." She muttered. Sure, she hadn't seen a witch turn into a demon, but she had been tormented by demons before. Her cousin's familiars were lesser demons, and they adored to sick their 'pets' on her when ever their parents weren't around. Running a hand nervously through her hair, she stared at the stone floor. "Really... I don't mind..." @RoseGardens

It was a mystery if this was from her own doing or the demons presence. “Please… I don’t think you deal with a rampaging S class demon on a daily basis.” She says crossing her arms over her chest as she sighs. She shook her head, listening to her go on, but she only really heard the 'being killed' part. "Mother wouldn't dare try to kill you. You're much too powerful of a potential ally. Uncle, well... He's... Reclusive. I can mention your desire for the Academy... I don't know how it works but I know you need a powerful family backing your status to enter." She stated, chewing on her lip to think. "Could I... Could I mention your curse? Uncle tends to... Show interest in demonic curses." She said, already feeling bad about asking. It felt insensitive but if she really wanted to go to the academy, it was necessary. Her mind was already thinking several steps ahead, as she was taught to in order to survive her family. Her argument was being formed as to why this random witch should be accepted into the prestigious academy, even to how she met her. Lies coursed through her mind, the truth was far too dangerous. If her family learns she visited the crypts often, she'd be watched closely, for it was forbidden for her to come here. Quickly she glanced up at Jade, her blush fading as her mind was preoccupied with planning. "If you don't mind it, I'm almost certain Uncle would go as far as to claim you as his protege if you showed him you were capable of magic..." He was far more accepting than her mother ever was. At this point I would just do about anything for more information. My entire life I’ve wanted to know what my life will be. If I’m descended to be consumed and killed or I just consume him. “ she says. “If he takes me in as his protege is there still a chance I can stay with you or must I stay with him or something.” She asks genuinely wanting to know how it would work. “I’m not worried about my own life. I was supposed to die when they put this demon inside me. I was supposed to be an easy vessel to kill this demon. But I haven’t been. Some of the finest witches have failed.” She says looking off. “Torcher doesn’t work either, that demon likes it, fucking sicko. Then you'd live in the Academy dorms." She explained quickly. She knew only because her uncle had taken in proteges before, which was why she knew how it worked. Though generally, those chosen as Proteges took after her cousins and tormented her at every possible chance. "Jade." She said softly, trying to get her attention without causing panic. "My uncle wouldn't hurt you. And his tests are only about your power and how much you can control." She said, smiling weakly. She knew it because he had been trying to teach her about her abilities, until it was evident that she couldn't control it at all. "If you want to meet him, I can take you. He's more active at night due to.... His special needs." She stated, dancing around his demonic blood. It was a touchy subject in her family. She hesitated for a moment, trying to remember what he had going on. School was out so there was a good chance her cousins would be lurking throughout the manor, but if she was lucky, they'd be in the basement meddling with potions. "Yeah... Yeah I can do that." While Jade was talking about the demon, she was thinking of her family. They'd love to find Jade's weaknesses and pounce all over her. Like a heiarchy, they always wanted to be on top and control everyone around them. "Trust me," she started with a scoff. "You'll be adored since you have the amount of control that you do already." If anyone was more trouble than they were worth, it was herself. Power without control was about as effective as no power at all. Though the heartfelt words of Jade's made her blush lightly. She had never given anyone comfort before. As she watched Jade transform, she shook her head, brushing her hair behind her ear. "First, we don't have maids. We have familiars do the work. Second, you're a witch, you're welcomed in the manor." She said, trying to hide the amusement shown on her face. "Disguising yourself would do more harm than good." Trying to build up her bravery, she began to pick up her scattered items and shove them into her satchel. The night was indeed still young, which could mean that those who would give them trouble would hopefully be preoccupied. "If you're willing, we can go now." @RoseGardens

As Jade admitted she wished she wasn't chosen as the one to bear this curse, she silently agreed. She too wished she hadn't been born with the curse of death. How different could her life have been if she did not possess this curse? Would she be liked more, or would she be tormented even more? It was a fact that her family never pushed her so far as to make her use her curse. They had seen the masses become insane, they did not want the same fate. And yet, they knew she could not control it, and power without control was weakness. The question she was asked had her looking to the floor. Now that.... That was a loaded question. Unsure how to answer it, she remained silent for a moment, carefully thinking through her next words. She didn't hate them, as any one would, she craved their approval. And yet, she knew it was wrong how they treated her. Slowly she began to speak, her words carefully chosen. "They do not approve of weakness, and power without control is seen as weakness. Respect, in our family, is equal to your power." It was the simplest way she could answer, without making it sound horrible. "They don't have to know that." She stated, switching topics quickly. She didn't enjoy talking about herself. "As long as you have some sort of power, you can pass as a witch. Most witch families get their power from demonic deals." She said, her point valid. Though some were born with magic, as her family was, other powerful families relied on demons to give them their power in exchange for various other things. "You are as much of a witch as natural born witches are. You are human that has magic. Therefore, a witch." It was as simple as that, and the sooner she could get Jade to accept that, the safer she'd be. If one doubted their validity with their magic was one who held a weakness that could be exposed. Survival, that's how her mind thought, how she was raised. In strong families such as hers, weaknesses could be dangerous, even deadly.
03:53
Yet again the chatter was turned onto her. Looking away from Jade's direction, she gave a deep sigh. It was only natural for someone to be curious, but she wished they'd never ask. "It doesn't matter who you hear it from. The answer will be the same..." She muttered, her hands starting to fiddle with her hair. A nervous tick she'd notice if she paid close enough attention. "I'm the shame of the Daemone family. A bastard child can't control her magic. Mother returned to the manor pregnant, promising that her child would be stronger than her brother's. It would have been true if I knew how to control it." She paused, her voice dropping, leaving only their footsteps echoing through the narrow halls. "I... Can see people's deaths when I look into their eyes. But... Those who I see die, experience their death. It... Would be a wonderful advantage for the family... If I wasn't a risk to them all. As I got older, it was apparent I couldn't control it, no matter who I was mentored by. Eventually I was forbidden to allow my power to show because.... Because I was driving people insane... Like... Like any future, deaths can be changed... And... Many opted to taking their own lives rather than experiencing their intended death again. Humans... Don't like not being in control." She allowed the silence to grow heavy after she explained. She had left some things out, like how she had tried to see her death, how she had tried to cause her own death as well. And how she failed over and over. Despite being worthless to the family, her mother would not allow her to die. It would be a stain on the family name if word got out that a family member took their own life, yet guilt weighed so heavily on her soul it made it hard for her to continue. @RoseGardens

Jade listens intently as they walk in the night. “Lacey that doesn’t sound very good. Your family just sounds like they like squashing the weak.” She says sighing. “Your not weak you healed me back there that’s definitely a strength. “ she says trying to cheer her up a bit. Hearing her powers she’s a little take aback. “How were you even able to attend normal school. That’s something that takes a lot to hide.” She says thinking. “I’m so sorry that must be so difficult. Maybe I could help. Maybe how I learned control will work better for you. If you want of course.” She says trying to offer herself. “But this isn’t your fault, and your family already is loosing any credibility. You just need time I’m sure you can figure something out. She sighed, nodding slowly. "The stronger the family the more credibility you have in the witch world. We're one of the oldest families, we're prideful and aspire to be the strongest." She stated, though she was counting her family more than herself. She rarely saw herself as part of the family, even if she possessed the name. Though as Jade stated she was strong, she shook her head. "It was something I learned from the archives down here. That doesn't mean I'm strong, it means I take good notes." She practically scoffed. Healing was nothing, her family preferred summoning as their strength. As Jade spoke her shock, she shook her head more. "It wasn't easy, but it was far better than attending the Academy. I have to admit, I had to use some magic to make people avoid me. I managed though." Thankfully she had. If she hadn't, she wasn't sure what she would have done if she hurt someone in the school. "The rumors surrounding my family helped too." It was sweet that Jade offered help, but it wouldn't work. She had tried almost everything to control her curse, nothing ever worked. It was uncontrollable and dangerous. She scoffed her doubt. "Maybe to you, but the Daemone family still produces the best witches. My cousins are extraordinary. Leonys is unmatched in his beastiology and demonology knowledge. Eliphas has perfected potion making. And Cordelia is the best summoner I've ever seen." She sighed, rubbing at the back of her neck. "And those are only my cousins. I have a half sister and even though she's younger, her spell casting skill is so advanced that she can simplify verbal spells to a single word. They're the top of the Academy. House Daemone hasn't lost any credibility in the supernatural community." She seemed to speak highly of her family. It was true, even if they tormented her, she admired them and dreamed to be as good as them.

"No." She replied to Jade's suggestion. "It doesn't matter if someone else can see my eyes. It's when I make eye contact. Glasses do nothing to stop it." She flashed a weak smile as she apologized. "It's fine. It's only fair, I asked and learned about your curse." Though the topic was raw, it was one that she couldn't avoid talking about. She supposed it was better to explain it all now rather than later when there was a chance that someone got hurt. @RoseGardens

“Just because healing isn’t strength or summoning doesn’t make it any less impressive. I think people who work at their strength are better than those that are gifted. Despite much of my power coming from him. Learning to use him was something I had to do myself. Before I had no magic affinity at all.” She says looking at her hand. “I see.” She says nodding taking in all the information. She wasn’t going to give up on helping her. She wanted to do what she could to help. “I mean it’s a hell of a power to have on an enemy.” She says trying to make light of it. “You know I wonder if he and I would have the same death. We are separate but at the same time one. If I was able to absorb him fully my fate is his. But if he escapes me then he would have a separate one.” She says thinking about the implications. She’d stared down many near death experiences and none scared her. She already accepted she was supposed to die. It was easier to die in her mind then continue to carry this burden. And the demon would die along with her like the parasite he is. She shakes her head looking over to her. “Oh are we close to your uncles. I feel like we’ve been walking for a while.”

A light blush over took her pale skin at the words spoken. What she could do was impressive? She had never seen it as such. Anyone could read a spell out of a book and copy it. Yet, hearing it from Jade gave her a sense of pride. Perhaps she wasn't such a failure of a witch after all? Then came the familiar words. It was a hell of a power, sure, but it was also just hell in itself. While she didn't experience it, she still witnessed every death. After so much, one started to become numb to the act. Maybe that was why she was so comfortable in the crypts, around those long deceased. As Jade spoke her curiosity, Lacey stopped in her tracks. "No." She said quietly. No matter what Jade said next, no matter how much she asked, she refused to witness her first potential friend die. It took her a moment until she was able to make her limbs obey her again, and she now trailed slightly behind Jade, her mind getting lost in thought. Would she be able to avoid Jade with her actively trying to see into her eyes? Thankfully the conversation moved on, she she gave a quick nod. "The archives are in this next room." She stated, exiting the small, cramped hall and entering into a large room. Lining the walls were stone shelves, covered with old, leather-bound books. They lacked dust, thanks to Lacey and her free time. Two rows were also formed with these stone shelves, and in the center of the room, a raised dais, holding a table with a single book. The inventory log, that, if inspected, would be found to have some books added to this ancient library, in Lacey's handwriting. Across the room were wooden double doors, one cracked open enough that a small person such as Lacey could slip through. Looking at the gap, stone stairs could be seen. "Just through those doors is the staircase that leads into the manor." @RoseGardens

Jade sees this reaction in Lacey immediately feeling bad. “No I wasn’t going to ask you, I’m sorry if that sounded like it did your power just made me curious of my own fate. But I would never ask you to do that.” She says to her apologetically. She followed Lacey looking at the beautiful archives. Taken care of quite well. “Wow I’ve never seen a room like this in someone’s house. I mean I don’t have that many friends anyway.” She sighs. She quickly follows behind her as they get close to their destination. Her heart a little quicker as she was a bit anxious. She didn’t know what this man would be like. But she wanted those answers and she would have them. @Kat Nightheart

The apology was something she was severely unused to. Her face twisted into confusion for a moment before she shook it off. "No.. No... I didn't mean to uh..." What did she not mean to do? React? How did she explain she didn't mean to react? Sighing at her own lack of response, she fell silent for a time. Once they entered the archives, she glanced back for a second, a small smile on her face. "The family never comes down here. I'm the only one." What she left out was this was a highly restricted area, the tombs and grimiores collected here containing texts the witch council had long since banned. Yet, what ancient, powerful witch family didn't keep forbidden texts? And sure, if it was ever known she ready these, she would be in severe trouble, it was still something she did often. Learning was about the only thing she was good at. At least, that's what she had been conditioned to believe. "It's... Technically not part of the house. It's the catacombs still. These stairs lead into a personal tomb area in the yard. From there we'll have to enter the house from the back door... Unless you'd like to meet my family's familiars." She for one didn't want to deal with them. They asked too many questions. Of course it was only due to their orders to keep tabs on her. Glancing at Jade, she could see the telltale signs of nervousness in her body language. Feeling responsible, she rubbed at her arm. "Don't worry. Uncle... While he has a temper and he's strict, he's also fair. He'll hear you out." She tried to encourage, though she felt as if she failed. Her own fear was like static around her. Ever since she failed to harness her own power, her uncle hardly gave her a second look, so that tension on their relationship always made her nervous.

At the double doors, she went to push on them, opening them wider with a scream of the ancient hinges. It only went another couple inches, the rusted hinges not wanting to move, and the old wood heavy. Panting from the effort, she went to slip in, before stopping. "It's pitch black so be careful." She was used to it, feeling her way around. Nervously, she held out her hand. "I can guide you if you need..." Her voice tapered off, awkwardness filling the air around her. @RoseGardens

Jade just followed along eyeing up all the walls and nooks and crannies. The rows and rows of books and records. Hearing her speak about her uncle she nodded. Just hoping that everything would go well. The night was still young and thoughts of her demon ran around in her mind. He was a bit more timid due to her earlier actions but she still had to keep on her toes. Any moment of her faltering means he can get in freely. She thinks to herself for a while hoping this daemone family really lives up to their name. She looked down at her hands as they were still ashy grey. Would this only grow until she was consumed. She shook her head as she needed to be confident. She watched as those double doors creaked open. Although it was dark it didn’t seem to bother Jade. She very well could use a spell on her eyes to see but she would rather not. Some things she’s picked up from her demon half have stayed as skills of her own. An echo location of sorts. She’s able to make a sound and sense the entire room around her like she can see it. She made a high pitched noise and was able to understand the room. Also understanding Lacey was about to trip on something. She gets to her side and takes her hand. “Watch out there’s a big vase on the ground.” She says as she guides her around it. @Kat Nightheart

As Jade took her hand she looked very, startled. Right, the vase she had knocked over on her way through earlier. She usually carried a candle with her for light, but she had been in a rush to meet with Jade, and so she had a slight mishap coming through. She had completely forgotten about that. "Right... Thanks..." She said softly, feeling a little more than embarrassed over what could have happened. Though she was unable to see, her eyes trailed down to where her hand made contact with Jade's. A part of her liked the contact, but another part thought it was uncomfortable. If she went down, she'd take Jade with her. The idea was less than appealing. She'd rather take the pain over sharing it with another. Gently she went to free her hand from Jade's grip, though she didn't try very hard. It was more of a thing to show Jade that she didn't have to take care of Lacey like she was some child. She had grown up long ago, she didn't need someone doting on her. "I should be fine now... I'll be more careful." She said, clearing her throat in hopes it would ease her awkwardness.

Even as they neared the top of the stairs, the darkness did not let up. Lacey had been careful to close the heavy stone doors of the tomb before heading down the stairs. If anyone one of her cousins followed, she'd be tormented. And if her sister did? She'd be met by her mother and uncle, no doubt shipped full time to the academy, making full use of the dorms for the boarding school. Soon the stairs leveled out to a cement floor, a large stone coffin ahead of the pair. She couldn't quite remember the relation of her and the person in the coffin, but she knew they were ancient. Possibly even the one who created the labyrinth of halls the pair had just ascended from. One hand ran over the cold stone, her steps slow as she counted how many from the stairs to the door. With her hands on the stone of the door, she looked back, blindly searching for Jade to ensure she was close by. "Ready?" She asked, her voice hardly above a whisper. She could never bring herself to speak very loud in this area. There was always the lingering sense that the coffin could open and her ancestor could arise if she disturbed them with her voice. @RoseGardens

Jade could only feel that Lacey was not a fan of her taking her hand. Feeling her try to wiggles out of it almost immediately after she had grabbed it. She wasn’t going to continue her grip she let go letting her hand fall to her side. Hopefully Lacey would learn it’s alright to ask for help. But you can only dream. She continued on in the darkness. The floor leveled out and a little bit a ways from the stairs stood a stone coffin. It confused jade slightly as she wasn’t sure what this meant. Hearing Lacey ask if she was ready in a whispered tone she nodded. Soon realizing Lacey can’t see her nodding in the dark. “Yes I’m ready.” She whispered back. Her heart practically felt like it was going to burst out of her chest. She was excited but scared at the same time. She was really to finally understand herself better and maybe enjoy parts of her life she hasn’t been able to. She hoped her Uncle would be as she spoke about him. He could easily be a creep or want to kill her but she had to trust Lacey. @Kat Nightheart

With all her might she threw her body into the push, the stone moving slowly. It was only open a few inches, but she took a break, panting gently, before going again a moment later. It took a good two more similar times like this before the door was open enough for a person to slip through. Going ahead, Lacey slipped out of the tomb, stepping out into the light of the full moon. Outside, they would be surrounded by miniature graveyard, tombstones scattered about, memorial statues here and there, and a few more crypts similar to the one they came from. Dead trees hung around the area, no plant life growing in the grave yard, but hanging over a small iron fence were dead branches, like brown skeletons that belonged there. It always caused her to shiver, yet there was also a peace she felt in the area. Surrounded by death, there was no one who could torment her here. Stepping to the side for a moment, she waited for Jade to appear from the darkness so she could close the stone door. Nervously she looked around the area, searching for any figures that could mean they had been caught. With no one around, she let out a breath. This was the first time she ever brought someone home, and it made nervousness well up within her chest. @RoseGardens

Jade watched as Lacey struggled to get the door open. She was hesitant to help as she didn’t want to mess anything up. Seeing her slip through she follows behind seeing the moon above. It felt so ominous in the graveyard, there wasn’t much going on. The thought of something popping out at her crossed her mind as she got closer to Lacey. Jade then remembered the door she pressed on it and it easily closed. “There seems to be a lot of obstacles to get to your uncle is there a reason for that.” She said nervously as she stood beside Lacey. Her senses were on high alert as she looked around. But in new places she was always like this. She waited for Lacey to keep moving. @Kat Nightheart
