Aspen looked as if she was going to cry, from both embaressment and anger. She put both applications down money behind the counter, digging into her purse to get money for the coffee and muffin. "Thank you, but no thank you, I am not a charity case. I can buy my kids nice things I don't need your money, I can do my own laundry. I am hesitant because no one just offers a home and job without expecting something in return." She suddnely said tears actually falling from her eyes. She looked hurt by his words.
"I don't know if you think your being kind, but you arnt. Your acting as if I dont already know the risks. I don't need your money, I don't need your stupid apartment, or job." She said wiping her tears away shakenly. "I've worked every single day since I turned 11. And guess what it got me pretty far." She snapped looking at him, she turned sharp on her heels and walked out of the Cafe, in tears. People watched as she walked quickly away, trying to hide herself from the shame. She hadn't rekized she left her phone.
