Ben walked hurriedly into the sprawling school building. All the hallways were the same - green tile floor, white popcorn ceiling, and matte white walls. He'd only been at university for a week, and still didn't have his bearings straight when it came to the campus. He looked for a room number and began following the numbers until he reached room 138. He glanced down at his transcript to check that he had the right room and opened the door. The classroom was setup as a science laboratory, with black slate counters and metal stools. The counters were setup in groups of two, so that students could pair off with each other. He sat down at one of the empty counters, watching students file into the classroom. Ben gulped. He preferred working alone; in high school he'd felt like he had finally gotten to know everyone, and now he was cast into a new environment where he had to get to know people all over again. His nerves were like a rock in his stomach. He looked down at his hands, trying to avoid making eye contact. It was then that he noticed the hair on his hands appeared to be...growing. The short thin hairs were growing thicker and rougher. "What in the world..." he thought to himself. "I'm just freaking out. There's nothing to be worried about", said his inner voice, trying to calm himself down. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them again, his hands had returned to normal. He let out a long sigh, trying to expel that bunch of nerves that had built within him. Ben reached into his pack and retrieved his notepad and pen, setting them up in front of him while he waited for a partner to join him at the counter.

Clarissa found herself rushing through the hallways, dodging everyone else that was on her way. She had a tendency to run late, her mother called it a flaw. It wasn’t like she wanted to be late, but she would get lost in her own thoughts, doodle on paper, or hum small melodies that were living in her head. Clarissa was an air head and it got her in trouble more then anything else. By the time she made it to the right classroom it was already filled with other students, everyone paired up together and sitting at their respected tables. Her green eyes searched for an open spot and she couldn’t help but sigh when the only one she found was next to the new guy. She brushed her black straight hair behind her ears and sat down at the seat that was left open. She glanced over at him beside her quickly. He seemed like the smart kind, the kind that would quickly get annoyed by how distracted she tended to be. She was not looking forward to it. She wanted to say something, introduce herself in the very least when the teacher already started to open the class. She rummaged through her backpack, taken out a busy looking notebook that was filled with all kinds of paper sticking out of it. She ripped a small piece out of it and took a pen to write something on it and shoved it his way. I’m Clarissa, nice to meet you.

Ben was going through the syllabus when Clarissa sat down next to him. His anxiety, which he had just managed to suppress, immediately returned when he smelled the sweet scent of a woman next to him. For a moment, he pretended not to notice her, his head buried in his notebook. When she passed the note introducing herself, he had no choice but to acknowledge it or look like a huge asshole. He inhaled, attempting to calm himself, and turned to face her. At first, he smiled the kind of generic smile one always tends to give when meeting someone - but when he saw Clarissa, his mouth opened slightly for reasons he could not explain. Yes, she was very pretty, but it wasn't just that. Something in her energy, in her smell, awoke something within him that he was unfamiliar with. A primal desire. Ben forced himself to avoid confronting these new feelings. He gulped, wrote a response on the note and then turned his attention to the professor as the class began. The first half of the class was the lecture session, and Ben had time to focus on what he felt sitting next to Clarissa. He didn't even need to look at her - it was a warm energy that filled him with a confidence he did not normally have, the opposite of the anxiety he felt walking into the classroom. Once the lecture ended, the students were paired off to do their labs. As they began setting up for the experiment, Ben spoke up. "I hear there's a party going on in Dorm 3 tonight. You thinking of going?" Parties were not Ben's thing, but his roommate had been trying to convince him to get out and have some fun. That, and he wanted the chance to talk to Clarissa in a more social setting.

C: If Clarissa was distracted normally then this time she was even worse. She couldn’t concentrate during the lecture. Her eyes kept going to the birds that were flying by outside, a doodle she was making in her notebook and then to the boy who was sitting beside her. Something about him kept attracting her attention and she was convinced that she was being annoying to him. She twirled her pen between her fingers, really trying to just keep her mind on the professor, but even the simple act of him breathing seemed to catch her ears. In the end she forced her hair forward, creating a barrier between them and that finally got her to find her concentration back. It wasn’t until the lecture ended and they were paired off to do labs that she turned back to the boy, being forced to work alongside him. She mostly just stayed quiet, feeling like just talking would give away how awkward she was feeling around him. There wasn’t even a reason why she did, she just did. “I hear there’s a party going on in Dorm 3 tonight. You thinking of going?” He was talking to her. She flicked her eyes up, looking at him with those green eyes that peeked out of the black hair that fall around her face. Just finding her eyes locked with his made her feel strange inside. She tried to continue the task she was doing, but it only resulted in her knocking over a test tube stand from the desk. It clattered to the floor, leaving small shards of glass spread around their table and feet. “Ooh! Shit uhm... I’m so sorry. I..” she stuttered, feeling even worse now then she did before. The turned to lean down to it and start gathering the glass when her vision suddenly turned into almost a grey scale, all the color fading away. Something that she didn’t see was that her pupil’s had started to take a more oval shape. The sudden change in her vision surprised her so much that she just froze in place. She blinked a few more times and suddenly the color’s returned. What was that..? she thought.

Ben's eyes met Clarissa's, and he could feel himself blush slightly. Her green eyes were very pretty, and quite striking against her dark hair. It seemed that she was even more nervous than he, as she fumbled, knocking over the lab equipment. Ben bent down to help Clarissa pick up the shattered test tubes. He looked to try and read her when something very strange happened. Clarissa froze in place, mid-motion, and Ben saw...something. Something he could not explain. For a moment, the girl's face morphed into that of an animal or beast. It wasn't ugly, exactly - in fact, Ben was oddly attracted for that moment. He closed his eyes and rubbed them with his hands - after the incident with his hands earlier, he feared that he was losing his mind. When he ceased rubbing and opened his eyes, Clarissa looked completely normal again. The only thing that gave her away was the shocked, fearful look on her face. "Are you ok?" It was clear that she was not. Ben tried to change the subject as he helped clean up the mess, sensing her discomfort. "Anyways, I'm probably gonna check out that party. Well, not that I'm a big partier or anything, but it sounds like fun. Not like I dont party, but sometimes...I mean..." Ben trailed off, obviously flustered. Just then, the clock struck the hour. Class was over, and the students started cleaning up their lab tables. Ben put his supplies back in his pack, then turned to face Clarissa again. "...anyways, I'll be there. Maybe I'll see you? It was nice meeting you." He managed a weak smile before heading out. (edited)

“I uhmm..” she stumbled over her words, still unsure of what had just happened to her. Did she just imagine that her vision went grey? That seemed like an odd thing even for her. “I’m fine.” She eventually just said, looking up at him and giving a sheepish smile. She could feel her heart thumping in her chest, feeling just so uncomfortable in that moment next to him. She picked up all the pieces of glass carefully, placing them on a piece of paper so they could expose of them. By the time they were done cleaning it up the class was over. She couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh. Thanks to her clumsiness they had gotten exactly nothing done that class that they should have. She was so distracted that she hardly could register what he was saying about the party. “Yeah.. maybe.” She just answered before he seemed to already be making his way out of the door. She rubbed her face, cleaning up the last bit of the mess she made before tucking her busy notebook back into her backpack. “Good going Clarissa.” She just whispered to herself. “Way to make a fool of yourself.” She took a deep breath before hoisting the backpack back into her shoulder and leaving the classroom as well. She looked from left to right, wondering if he was maybe still somewhere in sight, but he was already gone. She went back to her dorm, having finished the last bit of her classes and thought about the invitation. In the very least she should apologize to him right? For being as clumsy as she was, for knocking over their equipment. Maybe a party was just what she needed to shake off all those nerves that she was feeling throughout the day. Even if she normally wouldn’t have gone. So she put on a pair of high-waisted jeans and a black top with sleeves that showed off just a small sliver of her stomach. She messed with her hair, but it never fall quite how she wanted so she gave up and headed out towards Dorm 3.

Ben stood in his dorm bathroom, white concrete walls and speckled tile floors. He looked at himself in the mirror - he had his hair combed back, and was wearing a black collared shirt with blue jeans. He tried to make a confident face in the mirror that he could use at the party, but failed miserably - the truth was, he hadn't yet been to many parties, and was nervous about being caught outside of his comfort zone. He looked down at his hands, thumbs grasping the pockets of his jeans, and his mind turned to what had happened earlier that day. So strange...he could have sworn his hands were growing hairier and more muscular one moment, and the next they were back to normal. And then, seeing Clarissa change, her eyes wide and oval-shaped. He took deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. Ben finally got control over his emotions and set out from the bathroom, headed to Dorm 3. He was worried that he would not be able to find the party, but that fear disappeared when the building came into view. A single window on the second floor blasted music, with smoke wisping out and the sound of students mingling inside. He headed up and walked in. Students were packed shoulder to shoulder in the dorm. Music played over a pair of speakers, and in the corner a table was filled with different sizes and colors of alcohol bottles and red plastic cups. Ben took a cup and poured himself a coke and rum, hoping it would ease his nerves a bit. He looked around at the scene - people were dancing, talking to each other, smoking. He looked for someone he knew, but he hadn't met that many people at school yet, and was too nervous to introduce himself. He hoped that Clarissa would make an appearance so that he'd have someone to talk to. He took a big sip of his drink, liquid courage burning down his throat, in an attempt to give himself the confidence to make something of this night.

As soon as she got closer to the party she was already regretting her choice of going. Clarissa once again fussed with her hair as the music was already starting to blast into her ears. She didn’t like loudness or flashing lights. With the way she was, it was so easy to get distracted. She would get lost in everything and surely do something dumb, just like she had in the classroom with Ben. She walked into he dormroom, already feeling intimidated by the amazing group of people that were gathered. She tried to shoulder her way through them, but she was quickly pushed to all the sides she didn’t want to go. It was the downside of being small. “Just.. excuse me! Please.. uhm.” She tried, but her voice didn’t carry enough to be heard over the music. It took a good few minutes of being just tossed from side to side before she finally came out on the other end having a little bit of space to herself. She hugged her back against the wall. She started to look around her, seeing if she could find Ben but her eyes kept being flashed by the lights that were mounted everywhere. She blinked a couple of times needing time to just find her footing. She then just went over to the table with the drinks as it seemed to be the only place that was at least sort of away from the blasting music and bright lights. She didn’t even really recognize that Ben was there in that moment, to focused on just getting her footing back. She looked over all the colorful liquids, not even sure what any of them were. She had never been a drinker..

Ben had finished his second rum and coke - at first the mixture had burned like acid on his tongue and down his throat, but now the buzz had set in and dulled the unpleasant sensations of drinking hard alcohol. He looked around at the scene, bodies grinding against each other in the flashing lights of the dorm, upper classmen flirting confidently with the objects of their desire. He was feeling particularly out of place, when he glanced over and saw Clarissa near the drinks, trying to find a bit of space to stand in between bodies swaying back and forth. Ben's heart started beating at the sight of her - she looked even prettier than she had in the classroom, but also seemed even more uncomfortable than he did in these surroundings. He gulped, trying to ground himself against the intoxicating effects of the alcohol, and approached her. Ben tapped his hand on Clarissa's shoulder - normally he wouldn't be so forward, but she seemed to be lost in the crowded scene and there was no way she'd hear him over the blaring music. He got close to her ear and tried to speak loudly enough for her to hear without yelling. "Hey! I'm glad you made it. It's kinda loud in here though, huh? Wanna step outside for a minute? I can make you a drink, if you'd like." Ben smiled a nervous smile at her, and for a moment the sights and sounds of the party faded into the background as he focused on Clarissa, trying to read her response.

The sudden hand on her shoulder made Clarissa jump, a loud gasp leaving her mouth. “Oooh jeez.. you scared me.” She said in relief when she saw that it was just Ben. She was sure that in the loudness that was around them he barely even heard what she had said to him. She gave him a sheepish smile. Just being around this guy made her feel awkward and abnormal in a way. Her eyes drifted even more then they normally would, not really being able to stay on his for a long time. When he moved into her she leaned in so he could talk into her ear. She plugged her other with her hand just to make it easier to hear him. She then got back up and nodded at him with the same nervous smile that he was flashing her way. She then leaned into him again, this time putting her mouth close to his ear. “I’d like that.” She just said before she stepped back. She watched as he prepared her a drink, still very unsure of what exactly all the liquids were called. She took the drink from his hand looking inside of it. Somehow the smell of the alcohol was pretty overwhelming to her nose. She took his hand then and started to navigate towards the other side of the room again, choosing to keep hugging the walls this time. She didn’t want to loose him in the crowd, so just keeping her hand in his seemed like the easiest way to achieve that. It took a little bit before they were outside of the room and she led him just a little bit further away so the music was finally not blasting in her ears again. By the time she stopped and let go of his hand they were standing alone in one of the white and green hallways that were all over the dorms. She turned back to face him, looking up at him again. She pulled on her shirt then, suddenly pretty aware of the bit of stomach that was openly showing. “I.. uhmm.” She started, needing to look away from his eyes already. “I just wanted to apologize for this afternoon.” She smiled apologticely. “I tend to be very clumsy.” (edited)

Clarissa took Ben's hand, a simple action that gave him goosebumps as he led her across the room. After pushing through a dozen or so people, they finally made it to the hallway outside the dorm. It was much quieter out here, with only the thumping bass making it outside the party. Ben turned to look at Clarissa and their eyes met, his cheeks turning red. She apologized for being clumsy in class earlier - Ben quickly waved his hand at her, indicating that she needn't be concerned. "Oh its no problem - I'm really clumsy too, bumping into stuff all the time. Heh." A moment of silence passed, the two looking away from each other out of mutual shyness. Ben gulped some of his drink, then scrambled to find something else to say so that he could keep the conversation going. "So, what do you think of school so far? It's a lot different from high school [I think you call this secondary school], isnt it?" He managed a nervous laugh. Just as the two were talking, a group of drunk upper classmen emerged from the party, rowdy and loud. Ben made eye contact with one of them, then quickly looked away.

They weren’t even that close together and the music was still decently loud from where they were standing, but she could swear that she could hear the sound of his breathing, the beating of his heart even. Maybe she was just imagining it, it was probably just her own heart that she heard. Her eyes kept flicking up to his face and then directly downwards again to the ground. Her hands playing with the edge of the crop top, just to have something to do. “Yeah, very different.” She nodded agreeing with him, trying to keep the conversation rolling between them. “A lot harder.” She smiled as she bit down on her bottom lip just a bit. At high school she her being as easily distracted had not mattered too much, it was a lot more difficult now. The conversation once again fell quiet between them. She had opened her mouth, wanting to say something else when the group of drunk guys started to come closer to them. They were loud, laughing, embracing each other by the shoulders. She tried to look away from them, but one had already seen her looking. “Well well well, what is a cutie like you doing here? Is this guy bothering you?” One of them said as they got closer, leaning over Ben and trying to get between them. His words were slurred from the alcohol in his system. “No... He isn’t bothering me.” She said, but her voice didn’t carry much weight. “We could take you somewhere nice, show you a much better time.” Another one joined in as she was almost getting surrounded by them now, her back pressed against the wall. “I’m fine.. really.” She tried again, but she could feel her heart beating.

The upper classmen approached and quickly surrounded Clarissa, looking at her like she was a piece of meat for them to devour. She tried to encourage them to leave, but it only caused them to pursue her harder. Ben was looking down at the ground, his blood boiling with rage. He had been too nervous to confront them, but then he saw Clarissa back up against the wall, frightened. Something changed within him, he didn't know what but he felt...different. He didn't even notice that the hair on his arms was growing thick again. What he did notice was a newfound confidence that had not been there just a moment earlier. He stepped forward, towards the largest guy, and placed a hand on his chest to stop his advances. When Ben's hand made contact, the man stumbled backwards, falling. Strange, thought Ben, I didn't really push him that hard... "She's fine right here. Why don't you guys g--" Ben had gotten the sentence halfway out when he felt a fist connect with his cheek. The student that hit him wasn't small, and even though the punch hurt, Ben was surprised that he hadn't been knocked off-balance - he wasn't exactly an athlete or anything like that.
22:11
The feeling that he'd had inside was growing...it was something Ben couldn't describe. Like another life force taking over his own. As the group rushed in to make Ben pay for his mistake, the feeling took over. Ben threw punches and was surprised to find his attackers flying backwards. Surprisingly, the fighting ended almost as quickly as it began. Once Ben started fighting back in earnest, the group ran from them, one by one. It was as if they saw something in Ben that they feared. It was only when the last of the group had fled that Ben looked down at his hands. Something was not right. They were muscular, much larger than he was used to, and covered in thick black hair, almost as thick as fur. Ben took deep breaths, trying to center himself and recover from the adrenaline rush of the scuffle. As he did so, he noticed his hands returning to their normal size and hairyness. It was only then that he turned to Clarissa, whose back was still pressed against the wall. His eyes widened as he sensed the fear in her eyes. "I'm so sorry about this. Coming to the party was a bad idea. Are you OK?"
Avatar
The closer they came, the more Clarissa pushed herself against the wall. She half hoped the wall would just give out behind her, giving her a way to escape. But the wall was solid, it wouldn’t budge. She just went from one of their faces to the next, searching for the words to convince them to leave her alone. But there were no words and it seemed that Ben had realized the same as one of the seniors suddenly stumbled to the side and fall flat. The eyes of the seniors instantly left her and focused on Ben instead. “You mind your mouth!” They said as suddenly the vist landed right in Ben’s face. Clarissa gasped loudly, her hands covering her mouth as the punch connected, but Ben barely seemed bothered by it. Within moments he was throwing punches back, his eyes staring them down in such a dangerous manner. But his eyes weren’t the only thing that changed about it. From where Clarissa had pinned herself against the wall she could see the changes in Ben’s body. She could see the thick fur growing on his hands, the veins slowly popping out of them. They almost seemed to grow in size. Clarissa just stayed to the wall, frozen in place as the fight went on for just a few seconds longer before they seemed to run away from him as well. She didn’t move, not even after the senior’s were gone. Her eyes were simply focused on Ben. The fur disappeared again, his hands returning to normal. She blinked again and the guy in front of her was just Ben again, the guy she had met that morning in the classroom. The guy that had looked so smart.. not strong. She flinched as he asked if she was okay. Her heart was still beating fast in her chest, adrenaline rushing through her body. She had just seen him beat up four seniors. Her flight or fight sense took over from her. Her feet started to move, putting space between her and Ben. She just ran blindly, going for the stairs that would bring her outside of the building. She didn’t even know if he was following her or not. (edited)
03:54
She just ran and didn’t stop until she was outside of the dorm building, the cold evening air embracing her skin and putting her back into reality. The adrenaline rush was starting to leave her body and her legs stopped running. She was out of breath and leaned down to rest on her hands on her legs to catch her breath. Only then did she dare to look back over her shoulder.

Ben looked to Clarissa for a response. Her reaction was not what he'd hoped. She took off, running, terrified of him. Ben had hoped that the changes he saw in himself were just mental - that he was just hallucinating - but Clarissa and the fight with the boys all but confirmed that there was something more going on. He stood there for a moment, watching her run, trying to figure out what the best course of action was. If he just went home, things would never be normal between the two of them. Going to class would be a source of constant anxiety for them both. He had to confront her, let her know that he wouldn't hurt her. Even though he felt the change take over, something inside him told him that he still had a conscience, even in his mutated form. It wasn't something that would be a danger to someone like Clarissa. Ben ran in the direction that Clarissa had headed off in, but he had given her quite a head start, and she was no longer in his line of sight. After heading in her direction for a short while, he stopped, bending over so that he could catch his breath. That was when he smelled something...smelled her. He remembered the scent from when she'd sat next down to him in class. Sweet and feminine, a scent that had triggered something in him again as it had done then. He turned his head back and forth, looking for the direction of the scent before starting to follow it. Ben came off the path to face one of the dorm buildings. Bright white streetlights shone down onto the sidewalk outside, and at the corner of the building, he found Clarissa. He was only a couple feet away, and he stared at her for a moment, unsure of what to say or do. When she turned to see him there, he knew he had to act.
22:54
"Wait...please, let me try and explain. I promise that I'm not going to hurt you." He took a step towards her. Ben didn't know it, but his normally brown eyes were a golden hue, glowing in the shadows between the streetlights as he looked at Clarissa. It was at that moment that he noticed that her smell had...become different, though he did not know what that could mean. Even the fact that he could track and smell her from this distance was a new experience for him. He waited to see how she would respond, hoping that his words had given her enough reason to let down her guard so they could figure things out.

She looked back and he was just right there behind her, looking just as winded as she was. She just looked at him, trying to figure out if he was the boy from the classroom or the boy who had beat up four seniors without even batting an eye. He looked.. normal again. Except for his eyes. These were not the eyes that she had remembered. When he took a step towards her, she took a step back. Not yet willing to let that distance close between them. Her eyes moved in front of her as if that would create a barrier between them. Her eyes just stayed at him. “Just.. What was that?” Was all she could say. “You beat up four seniors.. you arn’t even hurt..” she was trying to make sense on it. “You.. you looked different..” she added to it. She was so focused on him that she didn’t even notice the differences that were starting to happen in her. The stress of the situation being so great that it was triggering her own transformation. Her nose would start to get more pointed, the tip of it turning black. Her eyes once again showed that long pupil and turned an even more intense green. Her ears shifted, growing dark fur and becoming longer as they poked out from underneath her black hair. The transformation seemed to stay contained to her face and even though the changes were only subtle for now, they would be noticeable. Her vision turned more greyscale again, but it was so dark that Clarissa barely seemed to notice it. A streetlight flickered close to them. It was something that would have easily distracted Clarissa normally, but not this time. Her full focus was on Ben and keeping the distance between them. On making sure that he wouldn’t hurt her.

As Ben stepped towards her, he noticed a sudden change in Clarissa. She grew fur, just like him...and in her face, her features became primal and bestial. Now he knew for certain that something very strange was happening, and either he was losing his mind and having vivid hallucinations...or something was happening to Clarissa as well. "Clarissa...you're changing too. Your face..." Ben trailed off as he stared at the girl, her eyes glowing bright flourescent green, pupils like the slits of a cat. "Look, I dont know what's happening, but strange things have been happening to me too. I...I can't explain it. To be honest, I could be losing my mind." At this last statement, Ben blushed deeply - he could feel his cheeks getting hot and red. What an idiot he was making of himself, this girl was going to think he was a nutjob and never talk to him again. And maybe he was. What the hell was going on... It was clear to Ben at this point that he wasn't going to be getting through to Clarissa tonight, not after what had just happened. He looked down at the ground, which was covered with puddles from recent rain. He caught his reflection, and saw his glowing golden pupils staring back. He looked back at Clarissa, still standing there frozen and guarded. "I'm so sorry about tonight. I didn't mean for this to happen. I'll leave. But..." His eyes studied her thick fur and inhuman ears with intrigue. "...something is going on. And when you're ready, I want you to help me figure it out." Ben turned, walking back to his own room to let the alcohol lull him to sleep.
12:55
That night, a dream came to Ben. In it he was watching a beast run through the forest. It did not look like him, but Ben knew that it was. Ben had seen small changes, but this was a full transformation. His ears became pointed, and facial hair grew out wildly from his chin and cheeks. His eyes glowed a golden yellow, and his teeth were sharp and jagged. His hair, normally soft and a little wavy, was wiry and blended into his facial features. In the dream, he was chasing something...an animal. Ben ran through the forest, tearing away limbs in his path, his mouth wide open exposing jagged fangs. He was running like a man, but suddenly he put all fours on the ground and propelled himself forward, lunging for a kill. Just as he was about to strike the animal... Ben woke up, jerking upright. Sweat covered his face and dripped down his back. He looked at the clock, 8am. His first class wasn't for another couple hours. Ben started getting ready, but couldn't shake the dream which had seemed so real. Was he turning into a monster? He pulled out his phone and called his parents. "Hi...yeah mom, I'm alright." ... "School's fine, yeah." ... "No, I don't have a girlfriend yet. Listen, mom, I have a question to ask you. Have you ever had anything weird happen to you, where you didnt feel like yourself?" ... "Yeah, exactly, like an animal. How did you know?" There was a long silence on the other end of the line. "Mom?" ... "What's going on, why can't you just tell me? You know I don't always get along with dad." ... "Ok, I'll give him a call. Thanks mom." Ben hung up the phone. His parents had split, and he never really knew what had happened. After the divorce, he lived with his mom, only seeing his dad once in a blue moon on weekends. Ben's dad was a drinker, and had always been a little rough around the edges. Hesitantly, Ben looked up his number in his phone and started to dial.

Her hands went to her face then, feeling over her features. They were different.. She pulled her mobile phone from her pocket and looked at her own reflection. She gasped, dropping her phone to the ground. Her hands went up to her face, covering it. The fur that was growing there tickled the inside of her hands. “My face…” she just said. “This can’t be… What is happening.” She was starting to freak out, freak out even more then when Ben had beat up those seniors. Why was this happening? And why was it happening to both of them. She looked back up at him, his golden eyes still glowing back at her. She didn’t know what to say. She just watched as he turned around and walked away. Part of her wanted to tell him to stay, tell him to wait.. but she was still frozen to the ground, unable to find her voice. Only when he had gone truly out of sight she was able to move again. She picked her phone of from the ground, having dropped it straight in a puddle on the ground. She whisked the water off it and tried to turn it on. “Fuck.. great..” she just said, it refusing to show her. She stared at her reflection again, her features back to normal now. Had she just imagined it..? No. Ben saw it too. She walked back to her room, needing the peace and quiet. She washed her face, wanting to make sure that whatever was happening to her was truly gone. There was no hint of fur anymore, her eyebrows back to normal, her nose white again, her ears back to normal. She put her phone in some uncooked rice, hoping maybe it would help to fix it. She went to sleep then, hoping that tomorrow things would be more clear. But they were not. She just woke up feeling groggy from a very restless night with lots of waking up. She looked at herself in the mirror, dark rings grown under her eyes. She tried to fix it with make-up, but honestly it didn’t do her much good. She looked like a mess and she felt like one too. She checked on her phone, but it wouldn’t turn on. “No phone…”
20:31
She threw it back in the rice. No use bringing it to class if she couldn’t even use it. She put the other thing she would need into her backpack, bringing everything she would need. She didn’t have classes with Ben till early afternoon..

Ben looked up his fathers number. He paused for several seconds before pressing the call button, debating if this was really worth it. He thought back to his reflection in the puddle last night, a reflection that wasn't his. And Clarissa...something about seeing her like that had lit a fire in him, in a place that he did not know existed until a matter of days ago. He pressed the call button, waiting for his dad to pick up. The ring sounded three times...four...five... "Hello." The voice was gruff and without emotion. "Heya dad, its Ben." "What is it." "Dad, some weird stuff's been happening lately. Mom said to talk to you about it." "You're an adult now, Ben. I helped you enough. Goodb-" "Dad wait. I turned into...into an animal last night. I dont know what's going on." The phone went silent, just like it had with his mom. Ben waited this one out, for what felt like minutes. If the phone hadn't said so, Ben would have sworn that his dad hung up on him.
22:17
"Describe it." "I had these yellow eyes, and fur all over my face, and I felt these urges...and this girl, she turned too." "What? What girl." "I just met her, her eyes turned green and she looked like a cat. She was just as surprised as I was. Dad, do you know what's going on? What's happening to us." Another long pause. "Son, this is something you're going to have to figure out on your own, just like I did. Just know...know that you're not going crazy. This is you. And you're not alone, there are others like you out there too. Like this girl you saw. Many are dangerous, you're about to enter into a world that you had no idea you existed. If you're not careful, you'll end up like me." The last words confused Ben. End up like him? What did he mean by that? His dad had always been a bit of a loner, but he had never really considered why. "Can't you tell me more? Why does it happen? Can I control it?" "You'll learn to control it. At first it happens when you get angry, or sad, or excited, but eventually you'll learn how to trigger it within you. I can't show you or tell you, Ben. You have to take this journey on your own." Ben mentally noted that this was the longest he'd talked to his father in years. "What is it? Do I have powe--" Ben's dad cut him off. "Know that I love you, son. Good luck." -click-
22:17
The phone beeped to signal the end of the call. Ben stared at the phone, unable to move on with his day, thoughts racing through his head. What was happening to him? At least he knew he wasn't crazy now - either that, or his dad and Clarissa were crazy too. Clarissa. Ben had gotten so wrapped up in his thoughts, it was only now that his thoughts turned to the girl who'd changed like he had. "There are others like you out there." The words resounded in Ben's head. His father had said that some were dangerous, but Clarissa didn't seem dangerous to him - in fact, she seemed just as confused as he was. Ben decided that he had to go sort things out with her. Maybe if he told her what he knew, it would help them both figure things out. He headed over to Clarissa's dorm. When he got there, he realized that he didn't know which room was hers - the only reason he even know which dorm was in was because he'd followed her there last night. Class started in an hour, and Ben was about to turn back and head home to get ready, when he smelled it. Her. The same sweet scent he'd picked up in the classroom, and last night outside. It wasn't like perfume or shampoo. It was her, and it made Ben's blood rush to smell it again. He followed the scent until he reached the door to a room, and the smell was almost overpowering. Ben took deep breaths. A day ago he could hardly look at girls, and here he was about to knock on her door. He hoped things would go better now that he had a little bit of info, and they'd had time to calm down from last night. Knock Knock

She had been gathering her things, wanting to just get to head towards the classes early. She would probably just get distracted again. Sit down under a tree to enjoy the sun, see a bird sitting in a field and start staring at it. Something always happened to distract her, she couldn’t help it. But then the knock was at the door in her place. She didn’t even know who she could expect to be there. Barely anybody knew the number to the dorm room that was there. She opened the door anyway and was not ready for the face that was staring back at her. Her lips parted slightly as she looked into his eyes, the last bit of the door opening slowly. “Ben..” she just said softly. She could feel her heart flutter as he was standing there. Something about him just made her feel.. different. But then the memory came back. Of him changing.. of her changing. It didn’t make sense. “No.. I am not ready to talk about it.” She started, quickly rambling off. “It doesn’t make sense. It just doesn’t! You don’t just change.. You don’t just beat up four seniors like it is nothing. You don’t just.. do that.” She turned around walking futher into the room with her hands in her hair. Her room was messy. It wasn’t dirty, she did keep things clean. She just was the kind of person to leave her stuff laying around. Her desk was filled with paper, stickers, pens and colorful tapes. A set of dirty clothes from the night before laying on the floor, including her bra and panties. Her bed wasn’t made. She should of closed the door, but she hadn’t. “My phone broke..” she then muttered as she turned back around. It was the only thing that had made sense about last night. She just needed to concentrate on the one thing that didn’t make her feel crazy. “I dropped it in a puddle and it won’t turn on.”

Ben stood at the doorway, debating whether he should enter. He watched Clarissa pace around the room - the night before had shaken her as much as it had him. She started talking about her phone breaking, and he remembered the call from last night with his dad. "Something you're going to have to figure out on your own." Maybe not? He looked at Clarissa. For now, they both looked completely normal. He stepped through the threshold, taking in the girl's dorm, his face turning hot when he saw her clothes on the bed. He quickly looked back at her. "I know a bit more about what's happening to us now."

She just looked back up at him again as he came closer into her room. She suddenly became much more aware of the mess around them. She quickly fussed with her blanket, throwing it over the underwear that was laying around. "What do you mean?" She just asked, unsure how he could even know anything about what could be going on. What happened wasn't normal.. it was so far from normal!

Ben stepped closer to Clarissa so that he could lower his voice. Anyone who heard what they were about to talk about would think they'd lost their minds. "I talked to my Dad this morning. He's an ass..." Ben looked down at the floor upon saying this, but quickly turned back to Clarissa. "...but he seemed to know something about what's going on. He didn't really tell me much about what to do, he said that I had to learn to deal with this on my own." He paused before saying the next line, nervous about how she would react. "And that we're not alone. There are others like us too." Ben turned around, pacing the room. "I know this sounds batshit insane. But you saw it just like I did. Right?"

She wanted to step back when he stepped forward, but the bed was right behind her and she had nowhere to go. It wasn't because she was still scared of him. It was because whenever he got close to her there was a weird feeling that came to her stomach. She just looked at him shyly, trying to focus on his words. "No.. I saw it too." She said, thought she still didn't know what exactly she saw. "How are we just supposed to figure this out Ben? What if it happens at school..?" She knitted her eyebrows together. "I don't.. I'm scared.." she admitted.

"Well, I have one piece of good news." Ben gulped. "He said that it happens when we feel a lot of emotion, like when we're angry or scared or excited. And he said we can figure out how to control it. But I don't have the faintest idea how." He gave Clarissa a shrug and smile, trying to show a bit of confidence and make her feel better. "So I don't think we have to worry about it that much at school." He stopped and stared out the window, lost in thought. "We've got to figure out how to make it happen. Once we know how to do it maybe we can try and figure out how to do it on purpose." He looked to Clarissa, seeing what she thought of the idea.

“Do we even want to..?” She looking into his eyes. “Figure out what this is? Control it?” She wondered. “You beat up four seniors Ben.. You weren’t even hurt in the slightest. They ran like babies because of you.” She bit her lip as she remembered that. As much as he had protected her.. it had scared her. “I don’t know if I want to be a monster.. a beast.. whatever this is.” She sat down on the bed, just needing some support as her legs felt weak from just thinking about it.

"Clarissa..." Ben felt badly for her. The situation was so unexpected and overwhelming. This was not what he expected college to be like. Looking at Clarissa though, he felt a tiny bit of peace and confidence. He had not expected that the girl who sat next to him in class would end up someone he shared secrets with the next day. "...I don't know if I want this either, but I don't think we have a choice." He sat down on the bed next to her. "I didn't fight with those guys just for fun. That's not me - I don't think this changes the kind of people we are." Ben lifted his head to look at her sitting next to him. "I did it to protect you." Ben placed his hand on Clarissa's leg, and felt a strange sensation heat up from inside his stomach. One he'd been unfamiliar with until just a day ago, but was now starting to recognize.

She bit into her lip again when he place his hand gently on her leg. A weird tingling sensation left on her skin even though her jeans was in between them. “I know..” she whispered, barely loud enough for him to hear her. She was feeling so unsure, so overwhelmed. She was already the weirdo to everyone, the quiet girl who doodled and stared at the sky. “I don’t.. blame you Ben.” She said only now realizing that must be how it seemed to him. “I mean… Thank you.” She said, feeling shy now and a blush creeping up on her face. She let her hair fall in her face to hide it.

Ben moved his hand up to Clarissa's chin, letting her dark black hair twirl in his fingers and tucking it behind her ears so he could see her face. He felt the heat inside him grow, and suddenly he thought back again to the conversation with his father. "...it happens when you get angry, or sad, or excited..." Ben leaned in, closed his eyes, and kissed Clarissa, waiting to see if it would trigger the change. It didn't take long for him to receive his answer. The heat radiated from his midsection as their lips met, tingling electricity arcing between them. He had not noticed the change the last time, being so distracted and panicked, but this time he was expecting it and could feel it happen. The hair on his hands and face, the growing of his muscles. He even felt his vision change, becoming more sensitive to light. Ben pulled slightly on her lower lip as he broke the kiss and backed away. He opened his eyes, eager to see if it had the intended effect, but also nervous to see Clarissa's reaction.

She looked back at him when he started to tuck her hair away from her face, knowing that blush was still there. She didn’t expect the next part though and even though she moved back out of surprise, their lips still met. She instantly could feel something moving through her body, like a surge of electricity that went from her lips all the way into her toes. She closed her eyes, leaning into the kiss then, the blush on her cheeks only growing darker. But that blush wasn’t the only thing that grew. Small bits of silver and black hair started to take over her face, her face taking a bit more of a pointed look, small whiskers forming from her cheek. The ears that he had tucked her hair behind also grew, becoming covered in the same dark fluff and growing more pointy as it poked out from underneath her hair. But it didn’t stay contained to that this time. The transformation continued, crept on. Her fingers growing just so slightly and her nails turning into pointed claws, the same happened to her feet and legs. Little bits of fur growing at different points. There was also something tickling her back, though she couldn’t figure out what that was. When he broke of their kiss and she looked back at him again, there was a different face looking back at her. She was still taken aback at first, but this time she was less scared. She moved her hand up to his face, moving her fingers over the fur that was now there. She noticed the fur on her own hand, the sharp nails but somehow she had expected it after seeing him. “What are we…?” Was all she could ask.

When he opened his eyes, it was clear that his dad had been right about excitement triggering the change. Clarissa was still in front of him, but she had changed too. Her face was now covered in silver and black fur, and whiskers poked out from her nose. Ben didn't know if it was because of his transformation, or the kiss they'd just shared, or both, but he found himself quite attracted to Clarissa in her new form. Clarissa moved her hands down Ben's face, her clawed fingers carving paths through his dense hair. His eyes studied her in amazement - the fear was gone now - as he pondered the answer to her question. "I...I'm not quite sure. My dad said we had to figure this out for ourselves. He stood and looked at himself in the mirror. The thick black fur covered his face and neck - his whole body really, though his clothes covered most of it. His shirt, normally a bit baggy, was taut against muscles that were previously nonexistent. Ben turned to Clarissa. "There have to be others like us. I'm not sure exactly how we find them, but if we're gonna figure out more we need to try." His mouth curved into a slight frown as he remembered more of his conversation from that morning. "My dad said some are dangerous. We need to be careful." Ben glanced at his phone and realized they only had a couple minutes until class. "Oh crap. It's 15 minutes to 11." His eyes widened a bit as the reality of their situation dawned on him. "Last time I just turned back into...into me. But it hasn't gone away yet. How the hell do we turn human again? Oh shit oh shit..." Ben started to panic, which was probably the opposite of what he needed to do to turn back.

She tried to figure out what he reminded her off. The fur was so much denser then the fur was that had grown on her, it almost seemed bristle like. She liked the feeling it create on her fingers. “We couldn’t be the only ones right?” She just said though she felt unsure. How had they found each other if they were the only ones? Was there a reason why they seemed to make each other turn. Was turn even the right word? She didn’t know.. She followed him towards the mirror and couldn’t help but gasp as she saw herself in it. She looked so different. The fur was a big change, but she also seemed taller and even more slim then she usually was. She touched her own ears as they were sticking out from underneath her hair. They felt soft and even with just herself touching them they were strangely sensitive. But the biggest change of all was the big fluffy fur that had appeared behind her. “I got a tail?!” She said shocked. It was just standing upright behind her, completely black with a white tip and very fluffy. She tried to move it, but since it was a muscle she wouldn’t normally have. When she finally seemed to figure it out, it just sweeped almost uncontrollably and she ended up even kind of hitting it against Ben. She turned around and only then noticed it had kind off pushed her jeans downwards, revealing quite a bit of her behind. She gasped again and quickly covered it with her hands and stood against the wall. She was blushing deeply, but it probably wasn’t even visible really with all the fur covering her cheeks. When she finally calmed down a bit again she considered his question, thinking about the last times it had seemed to happen to her. “I dunno.. maybe we just need too.. relax?” She suggested. It probably sounded weird. “I mean… If it happens when we get scared or fearful or.. excited. Then being relaxed kind off seems the opposite of that?”

Ben was caught by surprise during his panic by Clarissa's tail, swiping in front of his face as she inspected her form in the mirror. He struggled not to grin when she realized that her new appendage was leaving her exposed. The moment acted as a reset, pulling him out of his panic so he could concentrate again on the task at hand. "Ok, relax. Right." He remembered the other day, when he had seen his hands change. He closed his eyes and breathed in slow, deep breaths. He could feel his body morphing, shrinking, and when he opened his eyes again he had returned to his human form. He noted how loose and baggy his clothes felt now, and if he was being honest with himself he immediately missed his new form. In it he felt powerful, confident. And even though he liked Clarissa, no matter what form they were in, it felt like they now had a special connection with each other when they'd changed. "Ok, your turn. Seemed like just closing my eyes and controlling my breathing did it for me. It's supposed to get easier to control as we get used to it." He shrugged at her, his eyes moving over her pointy ears and silver fur. It's not like he was an expert at this either. "Do you wanna try again tonight? We can grab dinner at the dining commons after classes. I've got somewhere in mind we can go after. No more parties, I promise." Ben flashed Clarissa an embarrassed smile.

“Yeah.. relax.” She tried to assure him. She watched as he closed his eyes and started to concentrate on his breath. It was almost magical how the fur just slowly pulled back into his skin. How his muscles were shrinking back into it’s original shape. Just like that he was back to the boy that she had met in class just the day before. How strange life had suddenly gotten. He opened his eyes again and she smiled at him. “Welcome back.” She just said, knowing how ironic that sounded. She just walked over to him, putting her still furry hands into his that were already back to normal. She put her forehead against his and closed her eyes. Slowly she transformed back. The sound of his heart had been so clear in her ears just seconds ago, but now it quickly faded as they turned back to normal. Her claws turned into fingers nails and her fur also stepped away. The strange extra part of her that had been her tail faded into thin air and already it felt like she missed it. She opened her eyes again and Ben was taller now.. No, she was shorter. She couldn’t help but laugh at his comment about the parties. “Yeah.. That would be good.” She just smiled before she stepped away from him again. “We should get to class though. I mean.. I always how up late, but you don’t seem the type for it.”

At Clarissa's comment, Ben glanced at his watch. 5 minutes to eleven. "Crap, you're right - let's get this over with." He held the door open for Clarissa and they walked down the path to the classrooms. The whole way, Ben couldn't stop thinking about their transformation. The first time this had happened, he'd freaked out, but everything was different now. He knew he wasn't going crazy. He'd started to figure out how to gain control over his form. And most importantly, he'd lucked out and found someone going through the same thing. He looked over at Clarissa, walking next to him. He reached for her hand, but then felt that familiar warmth inside and pulled it back. Until they learned to control themselves, he wasn't going to be able to show his affection publicly - it was too risky to become overwhelmed with emotion and transform at an inconvenient time. What would everyone else think if they saw them? In contrast to the day before, class flew by - but not because Ben was invested in that day's lesson. His head was spinning, processing everything that had happened in the last 24 hours. Thinking he was going crazy. The party and the fight with the seniors. The calls with his parents. And finally, starting to figure things out with Clarissa. Before he knew it, the teacher was dismissing the class. He turned to Clarissa - their eyes met and he struggled to maintain his composure. He looked down at his shoes. "I've got two more classes after this. Meet you at the dining hall around 6?"
21:19
After classes, he headed to the dining hall to meet Clarissa. The sun was going down, and the grassy field in the middle of the campus was filled with people studying on blankets and playing frisbee. He was so focused on people watching that he bumped straight into someone walking in the opposite direction. "Hey, watch yourself!" The voice was familiar, and when Ben turned to apologize he recognized the face of one of the seniors from the night before, surrounded by his much larger frat brothers. The senior's eyes grew wide when he recognized Ben, and he quickly walked back his words - "s'all good bro" - and turned around. His frat brothers looked at Ben confusingly, unsure how their friend was so shook by this diminuitive freshman. As they continued walking in separate directions, he heard them questioning him: "the fuck was that bro? show some dominance." Ben exhaled deeply. As much as he'd like to test his power, in the middle of the busy quad was perhaps not the best opportunity. He reached the dining hall, which was serving his favorite meal - spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread on the side. He inhaled the scent deeply - for some reason, he was really craving meat that night and looked forward to the meal - and what he was planning afterwards. He sat down at one of the tables, looking around for Clarissa.

Something had seemed to have changed in Clarissa since he had first transformed. For the first time in her life it seemed like she could actually focus on what was going on in the class. Where otherwise she would end up distracted by everything around her, she now seemed to be able to keep her eyes on the board. Instead of leaving the class and needing to review everything once she got to her room where it was quiet, she felt like she had actually followed along. She had even already finished the assignment that they had needed to get done. She looked down at her notebook. Even the page that would have been filled with doodles was now staring back at her empty. When ben spoke to her it was almost hard to then focus on him instead. She just smiled, feeling a slight colour appear on her cheeks and nodded. “Yeah, see you there.” The rest of the classes went by just as easily. Without Ben there it was even easier to really concentrate on what was happening before her. At least that was how it was at the beginning. Slowly the effects seemed to be wearing off, doodles started to appear again and by the end of the class she was so distracted by a bird outside the window that she had missed 5 minutes of the lecture. When the class was dismissed she just tried to figure out why she had suddenly been so able to concentrate.. and then not. Did it have to do with what they were? She would need to talk to Ben about that. She gathered her things together and walked off to the dining hall. She made quick way and avoided the campus as it might be to distracting for her. She didn’t want to be late. When she came there she saw Ben was already there and she joined him at the table. Sitting close beside him. “Hey.” She smiled. “How was class?” She said, trying to just hit up the conversation before she got to nervous again.
Avatar
Clarissa sat down at Ben's table and started making conversation with him. Just seeing her enter the dining hall made his heart skip a beat and caused that now-familiar tingling feeling in his stomach. "Class was good actually...really good. I felt like I was still so nervous about things yesterday, but today felt like I had a burst of confidence that I've never had before. Maybe there's some aftereffects from our changes." Ben scarfed down his dinner as he listened to Clarissa tell him about her day - he hadn't been more active than usual, but he was ravenously hungry. It sounded like Clarissa had encountered some effects from the change as well. Once they'd finished eating, he lifted his eyes to meet hers. "Ok, so I have an idea I want to try. Think of it as getting more in touch with our new wild sides." He smiled at Clarissa, a smile that belayed a confidence he'd never had before. He led her out to the grassy lawn, but then instead of walking back towards their dorms, they turned and walked in the other direction, away from the center of campus. They reached the end of the school, where the paved roads and manicured lawns ended and a dense forest began. Ben and Clarissa walked a couple feet into the forest, until they stood in the middle of a thicket of trees that obscured them from the view of anyone at the school. Dusk was falling on them, the sky getting darker and the moon starting to shine overhead.
22:19
"I thought maybe...we go for a run. In the forest." Ben grinned. "I know that sounds completely insane, but so does turning into animals. Speaking of which...so we can definitely trigger the change through physical contact, but I wonder if we should work on making it happen on our own." He closed his eyes and thought of his animal form, as he had seen it in the mirror. He opened his eyes and looked down at himself - nothing had happened. "Hmm...I tried to think about changing, but that didn't do anything. Let's try something else." He closed his eyes again. This time, thinking of Clarissa. Sitting on the bed with her. Their lips touching, her hair twirled in his fingers. He felt the familiar tingle, and as he concentrated on the feelings he had towards her, he felt the change, now becoming more familiar. Ben opened his eyes to see his animal form. He turned to Clarissa, smiling - even beneath his thick fur, he was pretty sure she could see him blushing. "I thought of you and I last night...that seemed to do it. I guess the trick is to have thoughts which trigger an emotional response." He instinctively bent down on all fours, his fingers clawing at the damp ground below him, an entirely new sensation which felt oddly familar and right. Ben turned his head to look up at Clarissa, waiting for her to change before they took off into the night.

“Yeah.. I think I noticed something similar.” She said, looking up at him. “Normally I have such a hard time concentrating. I just get distracted by everything. Today in class it was surprisingly easy. I didn’t even doodle.” She chuckled a little bit. “It seems to be fading though, slowly but surely.” She smiled at him. She watched as he scarfed his dinner down. She ate hers more slowly, not quite as much of an appetite as he had. Even though his beast had given him confidence, Clarissa still felt a lot of doubts about it. Where Ben was willing to embrace it, Clarissa still believed she would be better off without. Even if the change had been exhilirating, the unknown about it frightened her. She followed Ben into the woods. Her eyes wandered around as they came into the denser part of it, away from campus. She could hear the birds chirping away. The rushing of the wind through the leaves. She looked up and the sun was just showing itself through the density of the forest. Even if she had een unsure about this suggestion, now that she was here she felt.. home. She only managed to concentrate back on Ben when he started to talk about transforming. He explained to her what he was doing and when he thought about them together, his form once again changed. Again she saw the thick hair covering him slowly, developing over the entirety of his body. She saw his muscles grow. More then ever he resembled the beast, the wolf. She knew he wanted her to change as well, to run with him. But at the same time she felt like she was not ready. “I..” she tried then looked down to the ground. “What if I can’t change back anymore? What if I get stuck in that form? What if.. what if this is only half way and eventually we will just turn into the beast completely?” She started to stammer. She couldn’t give herself over to it, not like Ben could. She needed answers.

Ben walked over and put his furry hands on Clarissa's shoulders. Now that he had already changed, he didn't need to worry about restraining his transformation anymore. He looked at her with golden, bestial eyes. "Look, I don't have all the answers here. I don't think we'll get stuck - I didn't even know my dad was a...a creature until this happened to me, so obviously he's been able to live with it. And I don't think is something we're going to be able to find the answers to at school. Maybe we can find something on the internet, but I think the best way is going to be to discover things for ourselves." He moved his hand from her shoulders, down her arms to hold her hands. "I'd imagine a lot of people have this happen and they have no one to turn to. I'm here with you, Clarissa - we're gonna figure this out together." He smiled at her. "I want to run through this forest with you, but I'm not going anywhere until you're ready." Ben let go of Clarissa's hands and closed his eyes, taking in deep breaths. He morphed back to his human form - he noticed that with each try, he was able to change back and forth more quickly. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable. We don't have to do this if you're not ready. But I feel like the answers are out there, and we're not going to find them as humans."

Her eyes met his, now in his beast form again. She could feel her heart fluttering. He was so beautiful in that form. His eyes so crystal clear like they were piercing her soul. The fur on his hands was rough but at the same time it had a nice texture to touch. She could see how to other’s he might be intimidating, but to her.. he was gorgeous. She could feel a blush growing on her cheeks and soon she needed to step away and close her eyes, otherwise her own transformation might have just been triggered. When she opened her eyes again, Ben had also returned to normal. “I’m sorry..” she apologized. She knew he loved that form, she knew he wanted to run with her. “I’m just scared.” She admitted. She admired his ability to just embrace it. “Maybe tomorrow.” She added, maybe when this wasn’t that new to her anymore. She turned her eyes back to the forest. She understand the pull he had felt for it. She was feeling it too. She knew that if only she allowed herself to transform there would be nothing she would want more then to run. “How are you so okay with this? That we are different..” she then asked him. “Arn’t you scared?”

Ben looked at Clarissa with eyes that were sweet, but with a tinge of sadness in them. "Of course I'm scared. I've always been scared, nervous, shy. But when I transform, I don't know...I feel like a different person. I like who that person is, even if it is different. I'll wait for you, though - I want to experience this with someone else, so le-" WHACK. Ben fell to the ground mid sentence, passed out. The boys from the other night had snuck up behind them, this time with the two larger seniors Ben had seen earlier. The one from earlier still looked a bit unsure, but the two big guys were quite pleased that they had managed to bring Ben down so quickly, especially after hearing about the fight he'd put up the night before. "Hey there little lady," one of the big guys said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "looks like your prince can't protect you this time. You know you shouldn't be sneaking into the forest late at night, right? Who knows what's lurking out there." The guys approached Clarissa, evil grins on their faces, with the largest of them unbuckling his belt.

She had still been staring into the forest when Ben started to talk to her, answer her question. He seemed so brave.. seemed to handle it so much better then she was. But his voice suddenly trailed off and she looked around just to find him on the ground. Her heart instantly stopped as she saw the three seniors.. one of which she recognized as the guy from last night. She tried to back away from them, but soon she was surrounded by them. Even if she tried to get away, they could catch her. Her eyes darted to the largest one, the one that was talking. By this time he was already undoing his pants. She could see the bulge there. “I heard you rejected my friend here last night. That is not very kind of you.” He said, that same evil grin still on his face. “Leave me alone..” she tried, but her voice was small. “You need to speak up little lady.” He said. “Leave me alone!” She tried, this time much louder, but this only seemed to piss him off more. That grin changed to a look of anger and annoyance. “Hold her down.” It was a command and the others listened to it without question. They grabbed her wrists and forced her down to the ground. She tried to struggle, but they were way stronger the her. She panicked. “HELP! PLEASE.. SOMEONE!” She suddenly started to shout, someone had to hear her.. they wern’t that far into the forest right.. someone had to be able to hear her. But that shout was the only one she got as a large hard was forced over her mouth. “Sssst, ssst. No need for that. We are just here to have fun.” He kneeled over her and pulled up her shirt, revealing the pink lace bra that was underneath it. She tried to scream more, but it was just a muffled noise again the hand. He didn’t stop with just her shirt. His grabby hands went to her jeans and within moments they were down over her knees. That is when she really started to panic. They were going to rape her.. they were going to force themselves on her and there was nobody who could help her.

The transformation triggered then. Her intense fear enough to change her shape. Once again the fur grew over her face and arms, the ears started to poke out from underneath her hair and her limbs grew longer. Even the tail made an appearance again and this time.. it was not alone. “What the fuck..” the hands had stopped stripping her down, the eyes now just on her. The first guy to really run was the one that had been so afraid of Ben, the exact person that had been holding down her wrists. She was free then. She propped herself up, lounging her at the senior that had been so ready to rape her. There was this beast-like instinct that just took over, it told her to protect herself. With a simple leap she was on top of him, pushing him into the ground instead. Her green eyes were glowing, the pupils long and slim and eyeing him dangerous, full of anger. He screamed and suddenly her fangs were in the tender flesh of his neck. He pushed her off then, her teeth leaving giant gashes in his neck, the blood instantly starting to run. “YOU FREAK!” He shouted, holding his hand over the blooding wound behave he stumbled off back to the campus. The last one remaining quickly followed. It took a few seconds for Clarissa to come back to her senses. Her fangs and mouth covered in the senior’s blood. She calmed down, the intense anger fading though her transformation remained. Ben.. Ben was still down. She instantly turned around, crawling over to him. She pulled her shirt down, but her pants were still on he knees. It didn’t matter right now. “Ben! Ben! Please.. Please open your eyes! Ben!” She franticly touched over his face and body, not sure if she should shake him or leave him down on the ground. “Please wake up..”

The first thing that Ben sensed was the cold, rough ground underneath his back. The second thing was the sound of Clarissa's voice, panicked. He shot up when he heard it and immediately regretted the decision - his head was throbbing and there was a sharp pain at the back of his skull. "Owww....Wh...what happened?" He noticed that Clarissa was in her beast form, and as his vision unblurred, he could see the blood on her fangs and mouth. "Oh shit, Clarissa, what happened?" He put his hands on her furry shoulders, trying to calm her down but internally panicking as he tried to piece together what had occurred. He noticed Clarissa's pants were pulled down and his face grew pale. "Are you ok?" (edited)

The moment he started to wake up and talk back to her she just hugged him. She was probably hurting him, but in that moment she didn’t actually care that much. “Ooh my god.. you are okay. You are okay.” She just said as she held him tightly against her, her fur brushing up against the side of his face. She then pulled back again just looking at him. She was still riled up, even she was trying to piece together what had happened. “Those seniors from last night.. they came back. They hit you to the ground and then they..” she paused, needing a moment. She could taste the blood in her mouth. “They were going to rape me Ben.. why would anybody do that?” She felt the tears welling up in her eyes then, realizing what actually could have happened to her. She was a virgin.. she had never been with someone and today that could have changed. It could have been taken away from her just like that. She sobbed silently. “If it wasn’t for this.. for this shape. For this beast inside of me.. they would have just done it.” She wiped at her mouth the and saw the fur on her hand coming back red. She split it out, trying to get that taste of blood out of her mouth. She had hurt them. She had acted on pure instincts, instincts that hadn’t even seemed to be hers. If it was fight or flight, Clarissa would have always chosen flight. Appearantly her other side had other plans. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. “I’m.. I’m sorry. Are you alright? How is your head? Does it hurt?” She asked, realizing she had just been talking about herself while he had been the one whacked in the back of his head. Her hands moved to the spot here he had been hit, trying to find out if he needed more help. (edited)

"It's ok, I'm fine." Ben wasn't being completely honest, the shooting pain at the back of his head was quite intense. "I'm gonna kill those fuckers." He glanced up at Clarissa, who was spitting their blood out onto the ground. "Looks like you fucked them up pretty good though." Ben grinned at Clarissa, hoping it would make her feel a bit better. He hugged her, putting his arms around her and letting her cry on his shoulder. "It's going to be alright. We don't need to figure everything out at once. But we have to accept that this is who we are now, these forms are a part of us and they influence our actions, especially when we can't control them yet. He glanced down at Clarissa's furry body, noting that she had sprouted a couple additional tails this time around. "Tonight was...a lot. I'm sorry I brought you here before you were ready. Next time we'll need to be more careful when we head out this way. I'm not exactly sure what those seniors are going to do, but it's not like they can really make a case against you, considering what they tried." Ben helped Clarissa to her feet and gave her another long hug. He felt the warmth boil up inside him and let it take over. Transforming into his beast form to try and offer her some comfort, a reminder that she was not alone. He helped her pull her pants back up, as much as they could with her tails poking out the back. Ben came close and rubbed his cheek against hers - fur against fur an entirely new and very comforting sensation. "Let me take you back to your dorm? I'll stay tonight, just in case. I can sleep on the couch." (edited)

She was still sobbing on his shoulder when he made the comment on how much she fucked them up and she couldn’t help but chuckle at that a little bit. She had bit him.. and she had bit him good. She moved her tongue over her fangs, feeling just how sharp they were. Her teeth felt so different in this form. In fact, everything felt so different in this form. “It’s not your fault..” she assured him. She understood that he wanted to know more about who and what they are. But change was something that had always been something that scared Clarissa. She had spend her youth being tossed from foster home to foster home. Every time a new family took her in there were new rules to follow, new things to learn. Even if she had now been adopted by two very lovely men, she was still afraid that at some point they wouldn’t want her anymore. That once again everything would change. She had felt jealous that Ben had been able to turn to his parents for relief.. she doubt she would dare to tell her adoptive fathers about it. What if they didn’t want her after that? “I don’t think that bite will look like anything a human could do.” She eventually chuckled. She wiped her tears away and got back on her feet with him together. She leaned against him, not wanting to let him go. He brushed his cheek up against her and she could feel her stomach fluttering. It seemed like such an intimate thing.. in a way it felt even more intimate then the kiss they had shared earlier. Her body mostly moved on it’s own, like her instinct took over again. Before she knew it her mouth was on his and she had initiated the kiss between them this time. Her tongue danced gently with his and she could feel the fangs that were present among his teeth as well. It was so much different then any other kiss she had shared. Something about this shape simply made her do things she normally wouldn’t. Made her more bold, more daring.. more spontaneous.

Clarissa moved close to Ben and pressed her lips to his, initiating a kiss that was like no kiss he'd ever experienced before. The last time they'd shared a kiss, they were in their human forms and had transformed afterwards. This time, they were both beasts, and there was something very primal about the feelings that Ben experienced. The enjoyment was concentrated in the lower-order part of his brain, the animal part, without any interruption or analyzing or overthinking from the higher-order human section. Ben embraced Clarissa as they kissed, his muscular, clawed hands moving up under her shirt to scrape gently against her back. He moved his hands down, forgetting for a moment that there was a new piece of her anatomy at her backside. Ben took one of Clarissa's tails in his hand, picking it up and letting it run through his fingers, feeling her fur brush against him. Ben pulled away from the kiss - he could feel the animal urge to bite down on her lip, but the little human voice that was still left in the back of his head was warning him that he wasn't used to the fangs yet. Ben grinned at Clarissa, hoping that her response was an indication that she was starting to recover from what had happened to them. Clarissa wasn't the only one that had become more spontaneous. He had been trying to convince her to run with him before, but they were both in their forms now...and maybe a little push is what she needed to jump off the cliff. "Catch me if you can, C," he said with a grin, and took off into the trees. The sensation Ben felt was like slamming down the gas on a sports car. He knew that his animal form was powerful, but the speed and agility at which he sped through the trees on all fours was surprising. His claws shredded branches in the way, and when they hit the ground they dug in, acting like springs that propelled him forward. Reaching a clearing, he looked backwards to make sure that Clarissa was behind him.

It didn’t take long before her mind had gone blank and all she was doing was was listening to her instincts. She stepped forward, really leaning into him and deepening the kiss between them. Multiple times her tongue struggled with the pointed fangs that now decorated his mouth, but she didn’t care. She felt his strong arms around her, embracing her. She felt safe, something she hadn’t thought she would experience this quickly after the seniors almost had done to here. Yet here she was. Her hands travelled towards his hair, her fingers rushing through the strands. She found his ears and imply moved along them. Her tails sweeped from side to side, mostly moving out of her control. The longer their kiss went on, the more she wanted it to last forever. But eventually their kiss had to break and Ben was the one to step back from her. She opened her eyes again, her green long pupils staring back into his. There was something different inside of them, something primal, something that had not been ready for him to pull away from her just yet. “Catch me if you can, C,” and without a second warning he was off into the trees. “Ben wait!” She shouted after him, but he was already gone. She hesitated for a moment, but then started to run after him anyway. At first she was running like she was used to, running on two legs. She was slow, Ben pulling away from her so quickly. She tried to run quicker, but something about this form made her lose her balance. She bumped in trees and branches, almost tripped over her own strange feet. She gave into it then. Gave in to that animalistic primal instinct that she had felt during their kiss. Her front lowered to the ground and she quickly gained speed. She finally understood the purpose of her tails. As she was speeding through the forest they corrected her balance constantly. She would dodge out of the way of branches before her brain even processed that they were there. It was the most amazing feeling she even experienced.
02:30
She sped up even more, pushing herself to her limits to catch up to Ben. Normally she would have already been tired and winded, but she was feeling fine in that moment. She finally reached up to him, now running side by side. There was a big smile on her face, a smile that showed pure bliss and excitement. She then jumped his way, tripping him and tumbling with him through the branches and dry leaves that covered the ground. By the time they came to a stop they were both covered, Clarissa on top of him. She was a bit winded then, breathing faster. But there was also a smile on her face, pure joy in her green eyes. “Caught ya!”

Ben looked behind him for Clarissa, but didn't see her. For a moment, he worried that she hadn't followed him, until out of the corner of his eye he saw a blur of black and silver furriness coming straight at him. And not a moment too soon - Clarissa pounced on Ben, rolling through the brush and coming to a stop in a pile of leaves, her tall slender beast form on top of him, tails swishing back and forth behind her as she looked at him with a huge smile on her face. Ben pulled Clarissa in, his clawed paws wrapping around her back and pressing her up against him so he could feel her fur brush against his. Their lips connected, his tongue exploring her mouth and his paws exploring her body, one completely new to his human side but somehow intimately familiar to his current form. He grabbed Clarissa, rolling her over as they continued to kiss so that he was now on top. The human side of Ben was long gone, buried away deep in his mind to come out when they were done with their adventures in the forest. He nibbled on Clarissa's lip, and discovered that her skin was thicker in her animal form, and he didn't have to worry about his fangs causing any damage. It made sense that her beast form was meant to be treated more roughly. Ben pulled Clarissa's lower lip down, letting go and moving down to her neck, He bit down through her fur, feeling his sharp fangs scrape against her skin. The sensations were like that of human intimacy, but so much more heightened, so primal. His hands traveled up and down her body, becoming familiar with her new form. Her tails were especially arousing to him, running them through his hands. Something about an entirely new body part drove Ben wild. (edited)

2 days ago, Ben and Clarissa were nervous college students, just trying to get through their classes. Now they were two entirely different creatures, having thrown their human aspects to the side and having an intimacy that no one at school would claim, or believe. Being in the forest, surrounded by the leaves and the trees and the moon, only made it easier to surrender to the beasts within.

The sensations going through felt exciting, but also so very new. She could feel her stomach twisting in ways that she never experienced before as they were starting to really get intertwined with each other. She kissed him eagerly, her hands running through his hair and fur and really exploring the shape of his body. It was easy to get lost in that feeling, that primal attraction that had brought them together in the first place she really pushed herself closer into him, her breath getting heavier as she could feel that feeling in her stomach traveling to other places in her body. She had never experienced it before and in this form, at least for now she seemed to have no shame in it. That was when that human part of brain kicked in and she opened her eyes back up. She was getting aroused.. She moved her hands up then, pulling Ben gently away from her so she could look into Ben’s eyes. She was blushing now, even if it wasn’t clear through the fur. “I.. uhmm.” She said, her confidence making way for that human part of her. “I have never done this before…” she admitted. “And not just.. this form.” She didn’t know how else to explain it, to shy to actually use the word virgin. Was she assuming to much? Maybe that wasn’t even what had been happening.. and she was the only one feeling that way.

Clarissa pushed Ben off her gently, telling him that she was a virgin. His big wolf eyes widened, embarrassed as the human part of him began to resurface in his mind. "Clarissa...I didn't know. I don't want you to do anything you're uncomfortable with. It...it's my first time too. I'll be honest, I've always been kinda shy with girls." He looked down at their bodies, tufts of fur between them. "I guess that something about our beast sides that we'll need to get used to - those primal urges really take over, don't they." Ben felt his beast form subside and his human form start to resurface, when suddenly they heard a scream from nearby - definitely in the forest. The sound caused a rush of adrenaline in Ben, and his beast form came back instantly. He looked at Clarissa to make sure that she'd heard it too and he wasn't just imagining things. Ben helped Clarissa to her feet and tried to sniff around for the source of the sound. The scent of perfume brushed against his nostrils, and he knew Clarissa's scent well enough by now to tell that it wasn't hers. He sniffed, pinpointing the scent as coming from south of them. Another scream pierced the silence of the forest, confirming the location.
21:40
"Let's see what's going on. Be careful, stay close to me," Ben said, as he took off in the direction of the scent. This time he did not try and run ahead of Clarissa - he felt a strong connection to her now, and the last thing he wanted is for her to be hurt twice in one night. They ran through the forest for a couple hundred feet, until they found themselves at the edge of a clearing, hidden by thick bushes. Ben peered through the bushes to see the source of the scream - a woman was on the ground, bleeding from a gash on her leg. Standing above her was...if Ben wasn't a beast himself he wouldn't have believed it. It had the form of a person, but just like Ben and Clarissa, it was part beast. This one looked like a cat, with yellow spotted fur and whiskers on its nose. It wore a black leather jacket and jeans, and its raised paw had its claws extended, ready to strike the woman. Ben turned to Clarissa, panic showing through in his wolf form for the first time. "We have to do something."

“T-they really do.” She said smiling sheepishly. If that part of human hadn’t come up she was sure she would have simply giving in. That she would have gone through the motion and laid there with Ben without even as much as a second thought. Her virginity would have been taken on the dirty forest ground in a form that still felt like it wasn’t completely hers. She wasn’t ready for that. “I just.. want my first time to be me. Not like this.” She admitted. It had been this thing she had romanticized in her head. She wasn’t ready to give that up to this beast that now seemed to be part of her. When the shout happened, her ears instantly perked up and she looked in it’s direction. It was so crystal clear where it was coming from that it almost surprised her. She looked back towards Ben and it seemed like he had heard it as well. “I heard it to.” She got up from the ground, brushing the worst of the broken dry leaves off her coat. Her human part would have wanted to stay far away from that, but right now she was so insanely curious that she found herself going after Ben. She stayed close to him, her form moving almost soundlessly through the trees. She felt almost weightless as she ran. It was such a magical experience, but right now was not the time to enjoy that. The found the woman, laying on the ground and the beast-like being that was standing over her. They really wern’t the only one. But why was this one here? And why was he attacking this woman? Her eyes just focused on the lady, on the scared look in her eyes. She was terrified and Clarissa was brought back to how she had felt when those seniors had stood over her, pushed her to the ground. She could feel this anger growing inside of her stomach, a low growl sounding from the back of her throat. She acted on impuls and impuls alone. She ran out of the brush towards the lady and stood in front of her. “Back off!” She almost hissed at the cat-like being in front of her. There were two of them.
06:56
Only one of him. They could handle this. She wasn’t going to let this woman be hurt. She didn’t even check to see if Ben was following her lead, she trusted that he would back her up if she needed it. “Leave her alone!”

Ben was expecting Clarissa to be as panicked as he was about the situation they were getting themselves into, but when he turned to face her he found a completely different emotion than what he was experiencing - anger. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she was growling. A realization flashed through Ben's head - there was a human aspect and a beast aspect that now fought for dominance within them, and part of learning how to live with this new change was figuring out how to control when the feral side came out, when to lock it up and when to let it roam their minds and bodies. It seemed like, right now, Clarissa's beast was out of the cage. Ben's train of thought disappeared almost as fast at it had arrived, interrupted by Clarissa pouncing forward to confront the feline beast in front of them. She yelled at the beast to leave the girl alone, putting herself between her and the creature. Seeing the woman in danger had caused Clarissa's beast side to take control, and seeing Clarissa in danger did the same for Ben. Suddenly, his panic had subsided and he need to protect Clarissa overruled any other thought he had. The cat did not see Ben yet - it roared at Clarissa and spoke. "This is MY prey, fuchsbau! You'll pay the price for getting in my way." The woman cowered behind Clarissa, sobbing. Clarissa hissed at the beast, on all fours, her backside raised high in the air and her tails swiping side to side, ready to attack if necessary. The cat raised its front claw, ready to strike down on Clarissa; she bowed even lower to the ground, ready to pounce. Her preparation, however, was not necessary. From out of the bushes, Ben flew at the cat, throwing it off balance and tackling it to the ground. It flailed, trying to break free of Ben's grip. Its front paw broke free of his grasp, slashing him across the face and creating a deep wound across his cheek that blossomed with bright red blood. (edited)
20:07
With the free hand he had, Ben threw a punch that hit the beast directly in the temple. The creature yelped in pain and stopped struggling. Ben brought his head down and connected with the cat's skull, knocking it unconscious - the headbutt didn't hurt nearly as much as he'd expected it to. The creature was no longer a danger, but ben's beast had taken full control of him. The cat lost its form, morphing back into a normal human, now battered and bruised. Ben's eyes glowed red, and he began to bend down, his teeth fully bared, ready to rip this human's throat out for daring to hurt his mate.

In that moment she didn’t feel like herself. That human part of her was entirely blocked off. Her teeth were bared, her body tense and ready to strike if the need came for it. A deep growl leaving her throat that was made for the pure purpose of intimidating the beast that was in front of him. She didn’t even care about the woman behind her anymore, she cared about showing this guy that she was not to be messed with. He shouted at her, his voice having that same rawr growl hidden inside his throat. “Find another!” She just shouted back at him. She wasn’t going to back down. Her fangs were still bared ready to pounce at him like she had pounced on those seniors. But before she got the chance, Ben was on him instead. Her stance changed and that anger that she had felt moments ago seemed to subdue. Her ears lowered and so did her tails as she watched the fight unfold in front of her eyes. Within moments it was over and the cat-like being was down on the ground, morphing back into it’s human shape. “Ben wait! It’s okay!” She jumped his direction, placing her hands on his shoulders and pulling him away gently. “I’m okay, we are okay.” She said to him, forcing his head to turn around so he was looking at her. “It’s okay.” She said again, softer this time, hoping it would bring back that human side in them. She looked over towards the regular human being that was now on the ground. She didn’t recognize him from campus and wondered if he was even from school. She then turned back towards the human girl who was still on the ground, terrified and this time because of them. “Hey, don’t worry.. we won’t hurt you.” She said, taking a small step towards her in the way you would approach a terrified horse. “Do you know why he was after you?”

Clarissa had her hands on Ben's shoulders, but she was still struggling to hold him back from attacking the man, now lying unconscious in front of them. It was only when she forced him to turn and look at her that the human part of him was able to emerge again and establish some level of control. If he had begun to assume that he had control over his beast within, the encounter just now had proven that false - going in and out of form was one thing, but keeping a level of human control over his actions was something he would still need to work on. He stood up and approached the girl with Clarissa - the man didn't look like he'd be going anywhere anytime soon. Clarissa asked if the girl was ok, but she cowered at the sight of them. "S-Stay away from me!" she screamed. Ben had almost forgotten that they were both in their animal forms, surely a frightening sight to someone unfamiliar. He closed his eyes and concentrated on his breathing. At first, nothing happened and he started to panic a bit. He tried again, and after several deep breaths and focusing on clearing his mind, he felt the human part take over and his body morph to its normal form. He bent down next to the woman, looking at the wound on her leg. "You need to go to the hospital and get this treated. Can you walk?" He put his arm around the woman's shoulder and helped her onto her feet. She was limping, but able to stand. She looked at Ben and Clarissa, still frightened.
18:28
"Yeah, my leg hurts but I can walk alright. What are you?" she asked, staring at Clarissa who was still in her form. Ben didn't have a great answer for her. "You know, we're still trying to figure that out ourselves. Just know that we're friends. My name is Ben." "I'm Olivia, I go to the school. That guy's name is Sean, at least that's what he told me. We were on a first date, and he took me into these woods, and before I knew it...again, what the hell is going on. Am I dreaming? Is this a nightmare???" Olivia was becoming panicked again, and Ben put his hands on her arms, trying to calm her down. "Hey, it's ok. Get back to school and go to the clinic." Behind him, he heard rustling as the man began to come to his senses. "We'll try and find you tomorrow." Olivia began to limp off towards the light of the school, and Ben and Clarissa turned their attention to the man on the ground. They were standing over him, and Ben hoped he'd be easier to reason with as a human. He looked at Clarissa and raised his eyebrows as if to say, As if this night hasn't had enough surprises already, then turned back to watch what he'd do next.

The moment the woman shouted towards her she stood her ground. She didn’t want to scare her anymore then she needed too. “Okay, I am staying right here.” She said, no longer attempting to get closer to her. Ben stepped forward then, changing back into his human form after a short while. She tried to follow his example, but she was too riled up. It wasn’t working. The more she tried, the more she failed and the more frustrated she became. So while Ben was able to get closer to the girl, she was left standing back. She wrapped her arms around herself, unhappy with the situation. She felt so out of control of herself. Even thought running through the forest with Ben had been such an amazing feeling, the other parts of the night had seemed less convienient. She had done things that she would normally never do. She had fought, put herself in danger and even let lust take over her judgement. She felt so disconnected with herself and now she couldn’t even change back. So she watched from a distance as Ben talked to the girl who was still staring at her with scared eyes. Soon she noticed the man next to them starting to stir again and she took a few steps away from him. The woman, who’s name turned out to be Olivia was not happy about that either and Ben told her she should get back to the clinic. “Just.. please don’t talk to anyone about this.” She begged the girl. She could swear she saw Olivia nod, but she was gone so fast she could have been mistaken. She took Ben hand as they stood next to the man that was just regaining his senses. She could feel a mix of anxiety and anger rising inside her again. Her human side and beast side fighting against each other for dominance. “Fuck…” the guy grunted as he started to open his eyes. “Stay down. We took you down once, we will do it again.” She warned him, her voice displaying more confidence then she felt. A chuckle left Sean’s lips, but he obeyed. “Only because that Blutbad surprised me.” He said with a cocky voice.
06:57
Clarissa looked up towards Ben, he was obviously talking about him. But what did that word mean? “You called me a Fuchsbau, what does that mean?” She asked, remembering the word. Once again he just chuckled. “God.. you two are newborns arn’t you? Pathetic..” he got up from the ground and Clarissa was about to do something against her when all he did was just get into a sitting position. “You are a Fuchsbau. That is your beast called. His is a Blutbad.” He said matter of factly. “Your parents havn’t told you shit? Shitty people.” Clarissa bit down on her lip. She couldn’t ask her parents.. if this was something that had to do with genetics then her adoptive father’s could do nothing for her. They couldn’t find out about this. “Just let me walk.. you guys took my prey, what else do you want?” He said, annoyed.

Clarissa took Ben's hand as the man regained consciousness. Ben felt the familiar tingling but it was pushed to the back of his mind - he was too focused on figuring out what to do with the figure in front of him. The main came to and was surprisingly calm and controlled. He told them things they had yet to learn about themselves - how Clarissa was a Fuchsbau and Ben was a blutbad. Ben tried his best to keep a serious face, even though he just wanted the man to keep talking, to keep telling them these secrets that no one else would reveal. "So what does that make you?" asked Ben. "Klaustreich." Replied the man. He began to rise. "Just stay the fuck there." Ben put a hand out, and his eyes glowed red. "Ok, ok. I'm staying. What the hell do you two newborns expect me to do here?" "Well, for one, why were you trying to hurt that girl?" Sean smirked at them. "Don't you know that cats like to play with their food? It's our natural instincts. We are superior to normal humans, we can do what we want with them. Do you eat meat? Explain how that is any different. Meat is just a different animal, and if you haven't figured it out yet, you're a different animal now too." Ben's face was twisted into a scowl as he processed what Sean was saying. "No, I won't accept that. We may have new abilities, but we are still human. We are more than just animals." Ben was debating what to do with Sean. It didn't seem like he had any interest in attacking them, and they couldn't report him to the police. All they could do was let him go, but Ben didn't want to do that - not when they'd just happened to come across someone who could figure out more about their new talents. "I'll admit, some wesen are more timid than others." Sean smirked. "But you do that and you'll end up getting hunted just like the humans." "Wesen," Ben said, letting the word hang on his tongue for a moment, "that's what we're called? Where can we find more wesen. Tell us and we'll let you go."
23:25
Sean stood up. "There's a bar outside town. The Thirsty Lion. You'll have to voge to enter - that's what it's called when you transform. Watch your back, not all the patrons will be as helpful as I've been tonight. See you around, newborns." Sean turned around and began to walk off. Ben had so much more to ask, but it seemed like maybe they'd be able to find someone more trustworthy. Ben turned to Clarissa, bringing her close and giving her a tight hug, feeling her fur rub across his cheek. The night had been far more illuminating, and intense, than he had expected. Ben put his hands around Clarissa's face and kissed her - focusing on the kiss, the way her lips felt, their tongues playing with each other. He felt his beast grow strong within him, but he found that if he concentrated, he could keep himself from losing control and turning. He bit softly on Clarissa's lip and broke away, still looking at her. He'd controlled his change, but his eyes glowed red, a reminder of what was still lurking inside. "So, what now? Do you want to head back to the dorms? Or stay out a while longer. A lot to process tonight." He smiled at her - this would be so much more difficult without her here to experience it with.

Clarissa BOT 28-Jun-21 07:42 AM
Clarissa stayed close to Ben as Sean kept talking. He seemed almost not bothered at all by what was happening or what had happened. Even though she had shouted at her before for stealing his pray he now didn’t even seem very bothered at all. Yes she couldn’t help but get this uneasy feeling when Sean talked more. It really did seem like he had meant to attack that girl. How he had meant to take it much further then they had let her. Don’t you know that cats like to play with their food? Had he really meant to eat her? She felt disgusted. Was that what this was meant to be? Was that how far this would take them? Would they be eating human flesh if they choose to let their inner beast take control and roam freely. Judging by Ben’s reaction she wasn’t the only one who was worried about it. She just stood closer against him, pushing her body against the side of him, needing to be reminded at all times that he was there. This couldn’t be what they were meant to be.. it had felt so good to run. Sean left them alone again. His words had filled Clarissa with doubt, with fear for her own form. She had wanted to start talking, showing the small bit of panic that she as feeling inside of her, when Ben pressed his lips against her. She instantly just melted into him. The panic faded, the doubt faded, all that was left was that same small pinch in her stomach that she had felt when they had been on the forest floor. With her still in her beast form and Ben not, they stood almost as tall. Her tails just moved around each other. She had to keep herself back from digging her claws into him, knowing that his skin in this form wouldn’t be able to take it. When the kiss broke between them she knew that she would now be calm enough to change back herself. She stepped back and closed her eyes. She thought about the wind rustling through the trees and concentrated on her breathing. She could feel herself shifting back, her tails disappearing into the thin air.
07:44
When she reopened her eyes Ben had become a lot taller, or well, she had gotten a lot shorter. She just offered him a soft smile. “Let’s go back.. I don’t want to stay here.” She said. The forest now gave her the creeps that she was back in this form. A woman had been almost eaten, those seniors had almost raped her. This forest just didn’t feel good to her in a shape that was as vulnerable and this one. She took Ben’s hand and started to walk back in the direction of campus. “Do you think he was really going to eat her..?” She asked, needing to know what he thought about it.

Clarissa took Ben's hand as they walked back to the school. Ben thought about her question, whether the klaustreich really intended to eat the girl. "I mean honestly, I don't know - this is as new to me as it is to you. I want to think that he wouldn't have actually eaten her, but I do feel like he would have hurt her...or worse." Ben gulped. What were they getting themselves into? They were both just college students. Things felt so different though, when they were beasts. Ben sighed. "I just wish I had that confidence when I was human, ya know? It'd be nice if I didn't have to become a terrifying wolf every time I wanted to grow a backbone." He laughed with Clarissa - that sentence really was bonkers! That night had been a lot, but he felt like they had come out of it understanding themselves a lot better, and being more comfortable with the changes happening to them. Not to mention closer with each other. Everything felt like they were seeing it in a new light on the way back to campus. The forest had obviously changed - it seemed like a place full of danger, right on their doorstep. However, even back at school, Ben felt more in tune with nature than he ever had. Usually he was on his phone or his computer, but that night as he walked back with Clarissa, he took note of the fog that drifted through the campus, making the streetlights cast cones of diffused white light. The ants and beetles, running across the pavement. The sound of owls and frogs, creating the night's soundtrack. He was back in his human form, but now that he had experienced losing himself to his beast, he felt nature calling to him. Perhaps it called to all humans, but we were too fixed on our modern societies to hear it.
16:39
They got to Clarissa's dorm and Ben walked her upstairs. When they got to the door, he put his hands in his pockets and looked down at the ground nervously. On one hand, it was 1am and they were going to have classes tomorrow. On the other hand...he didn't want the night with her to end. Not yet. It's fine, he told himself, you'll see her tomorrow. Ben looked up and his eyes met Clarissas - it always made him catch his breath when that happened. "So, maybe I'll see you in the morning for breakfast?"

“I don’t know..” she said honestly. She did believe he would have eaten her. Something about the way the guy had held herself had told her that he held little care for what he was doing while he was in his beast form. He had sold his human part to be just that beast long ago. Even Clarissa had experienced for herself how different she could be when in that form. Her instinct changed completely. She kept walking with Ben, wrapping her little vest closer around herself now that the evening air was starting to cool down. “It does really make you feel different huh?” She let out an uncomfortable chuckle. She was still experiencing those after effects from her change. Not yet having lost her focus and in this case she might have preferred if she had. Her mind kept focussing on the happenings of that night. At first their beast might have seemed like a gift, a present. But the more she learned about them the more she hesitated. Would they turn into meat hungry fanatics? Is that what the end station was if they really let themselves get lost in it. She wished it would have ended with running through a forest and some feelings of lust. And just that thought caused a blush to spread over her cheeks. If she had really given herself to her beast.. that would have happened right there and she wouldn’t have thought twice about it. It made her bite her lip. They finally set foot into the campus and soon they had even reached her dorm room. She just stood there uncomfortably. She wanted to stay there with him. She didn’t want him to leave. If she laid down in her bed now her thoughts would just run rampant and keep her up all night. Especially with the aftereffects still so clear in her body. Her eyes met his and that instant flutter was back in her stomach. Her cheeks blushed and she stared at her feet for just a moment. “So, maybe I’ll see you in the morning for breakfast?” He asked her. She reached out to his hand taking it into hers before her eyes flicked up again. “Stay here?” She asked, the blush still spread across her cheeks and nose. “I don’t want to be alone..” (edited)

It was as if someone had heard his thoughts. Clarissa asked him to stay with her, that she didn't want to be alone. It wasn't just their moment in the forest, Ben had liked her since the minute she'd walked into his life. He just never expected he'd be here 2 days later, spending the night. He wrapped his arms around Clarissa, letting her head rest on his chest, just enjoying the feeling of holding her and being close. It had been such an intense evening, and Ben felt like he was going to be up going through what happened in his head all night. Now he could spend it with the one person who'd understand that. They opened the door and walked into Clarissa's room. In front of them was her bed, and Ben thought back to the first time they had changed together, in total shock about what they were becoming. It felt so much different now, even though they still didn't completely understand these new abilities.
22:34
His eyes drifted back to Clarissa, and as he felt the familiar tingle inside, a thought came to him. "I've got an idea." Ben slipped his hands around Clarissa's waist, pulling her in close. "I loved being in the forest with you, being close as beasts. But...I like you as a person too, Clarissa. And I think we both want to be able to have more control over changing." Ben leaned his head down and started kissing behind Clarissa's ear, moving his way down to her neck and biting, tasting her skin and smelling her sweet scent. "So, let's try something. I want you to try your best to stay human with me right now. I'm gonna do the same. And we won't go too far until we're ready. Just...concentrate on me, on being conscious of what's happening, how things feel, what you're feeling. I noticed that when I just let go, that's when I lose control. If I focus on you, on what I'm doing to you, it feels like I can control myself from changing. Not that its easy." As he said that last sentence, Ben moved up to kiss Clarissa's soft lips, trying to focus on the sensation of her skin against his, his task becoming more difficult by the second.

They walked back into her room. It was still the same mess that it had been that morning, but somehow this time she didn’t care to much about it. They had shared so much with each other that day that him seeing some notes on her desk or some underwear laying around on the floor didn’t seem to matter that much anymore. She closed the door to her campus and even just locked it with the key just in case. She now knew that so many more creatures lived on their campus then they might now.. and some of them chased girls into the woods. It somehow felt a lot less safe now then it had done that very morning. When she turned back towards Ben he was already standing right in front of her. His hands grabbed into her waist and pulled her forward against her. She instantly found the blush taking over her face again as he mentioned his idea. The moment he started planting kisses so close to her ear, her hands grabbed softly into his shirt. She didn’t know how something that simple could effect her so much, but it did. He told her to focus on him, on the things he was doing and she tried. But focus had never been her strong point.. the only reason why it was working for now was because those after effects of her beast were still working it’s magic. But she didn’t know how long those would last for her. “Okay.. I will try.” She said, her voice already a mere whisper. His lips found hers. Every time they had kissed it had seemed like a new first. First as humans, then as beast.. then as just one beast. This was the first time they had repeated a kiss, yet it still felt just as new as the others did. She closed her eyes, focusing on the feeling of her tongue dancing with her, of his lips pressing up against her own, the way his breath mixed with hers. Her hands moved from gripping his shirt to slipping underneath it. She ran her fingers over his bare skin, wanting to feel close to him. As they kissed they slowly moved backwards, step for step they moved along to each others movements until Clarissa lower legs bumped into the edge of her bed. Yet the still pushed on together and in the end she just let herself fall into the sheets, pulling Ben along with it. Her lower legs would still hang of the side of the bed, but the rest of her was laying down and Ben was now on top of her. She keep feel that transformation nipping at her. There was this certain feeling that came right before they changed and it was lingering in the background. She tried to keep focusing on him, but her mind liked to wander. Slowly but surely instead of focusing on how his hands felt on her skin, she felt herself wondering about other things. About how messy her room was, about the underwear she was wearing.. it even slipped in her mind that she didn’t have any condoms. She had to break their kiss, if she didn’t she would surely change. “This is hard…” she said. Her whole face was red at that point, the blush taking over most of her face and even a small part of her neck and chest. Her green eyes staring up at him and her breath slightly elevated.

Clarissa broke the kiss with Ben and he leaned his forehead against her, their noses brushing against each other. Ben's eyes were closed and he was concentrating on the feel of her energy next to him, the softness of her skin, the sound of her breathing. She let him know that it was hard to maintain control. Ben opened his eyes to look at Clarissa. Instantly their eyes met and he felt the heat, deep within him, stronger than ever. It felt like he couldnt fight it, and he felt his vision change. He knew that his eyes had gone red, that his bestial desires had started to take over. Ben closed his eyes, trying to regain control. "Trust me C, I know it's difficult, heh." He felt himself calm down and opened his eyes again - he could tell they'd gone back to normal. "But I think this is something we need to do, need to learn. It's part of how we're going to learn how to control this part of us." Ben grinned and looked up at Clarissa. "I'd be lying if I said this was strictly a matter of learning to control our beasts. I've never felt close to someone like this. Sure, part of it is because we've been in life or death situations together, but...it's just felt good from the start. I want to keep going. No sex till you're ready, I promise." Ben took his shirt and raised it above his head, taking it off. It wasn't the muscular frame of his beast form, but he still had some definition in his chest. He started to kiss Clarissa's neck again, and when he got next to her ear, whispered. "Just focus on the feelings, on enjoying yourself. Let me know if it becomes too much and we can take a break." Ben put his hands under Clarissa's shirt, moving them up the sides of her stomach and around to her back. He unbuttoned her bra, and took it off along with her top.
23:11
Ben continued to bite against her neck, pressing into her and feeling her skin against his. It was not easy. Several times, he felt the rush within him, his beast wanting to take over, and had to stop to catch his breath and calm down. He moved from Clarissa's neck, back to her lips, exploring her with his tongue and his hands. He bit down on her bottom lip and pulled at it - the arousal from that move almost did him in, forcing him to pull back and take deep breaths, eyes glowing red for a moment. He rolled to the side of Clarissa, pulling her over so that her head rested on his bare chest. "It's definitely hard," he said with a soft laugh, as he stroked Clarissa's shoulder with his hand. He took a moment to center himself and recover, waiting to see if she wanted to go further.

Ben wasn’t the only one who was struggling. There was so much going on in her head. Multiple times she could see her vision turning into the grey scale that seemed to come with her change. But every time she was able to push it back to the back on her mind, refocus on Ben in front of her. And he was everywhere.. everything else had seemed to disappear. It was just the two of them, there in that bed. Her heart fluttered when he said that he liked her, that he felt connected to her. She had known he liked her, there was no reason they would do this together if it was not. But hearing him say it to her was something else completely. She couldn’t keep the grin away from her face, smiling like an idiot as she bit her lip to keep the smile from growing even bigger. “I like you too.” She said, her voice small. He had said that he was shy, but right in that moment nothing about him seemed to be shy. “I want to do this.. together. Find out what is happening to us, how to control it. I want to be together.” She said to him, pressing her lip softly against his again after she said it. He undressed himself, taking off his shirt and Clarissa had trouble deciding if she wanted to look at him or look away. In the end she looked at him. He came for her next, gentle lifting her shirt, revealing her chest and the soft pink lace bra that she was wearing. She blushed a deep crimson, her breath picking up. “Just focus on the feelings, on enjoying yourself.” He said to her. She nodded and closed her eyes then, trying to just concentrate on the feeling of his fingers softly gliding over her skin. He was revealing her to him. Even with her eyes closed she felt like she could feel his eyes moving over her naked form. But she didn’t stop him. The longer he went on, the more kisses and bites he planted in her neck and on her skin. There was something building up inside of her and it was growing fast. A certain longing, a longing for him. It made her press her thighs together. It was so unfamiliar, something she had never felt before. It was hard to tell if it was her beast trying to find it’s way to the surface or something else. Her breath quickened once again, her heart beating fast inside of her chest. Her hands found their way into his neck, back and hair. Her fingers trailing through them, really getting into the motions of what he was doing to her. With her eyes closed she couldn’t know when he vision changed. There were small hints about it, small tingles in certain body parts. Every time she managed to still push it back. But that big feeling, that heat inside her stomach and between her legs stayed no matter what she did. When he pulled away from her she felt both relieved and abandoned. He pulled her into him. And the landed on her side with her head resting on his chest. She opened her eyes again then for the first time since he had started. They were both half naked, both out of breath even when they had seemed to have done so little. She was sort of covered now, her front pushed against both him and sheets. But she knew he had seen her and it just revived the blush on her face. She propped herself up a small bit so she could look at his face. She wished she could read his mind, understand what he was thinking about in that moment. She kissed him softly one more time, a mere touch of the lips before she pulled back again. She shifted, one leg put over the top of him and her body shifting so she was more laying on top of him then next to him. “I don’t think I can hold it back much longer.. but I don’t want too stop.” She whispered into his lips. She was feeling so conflicted with herself. She wanted to do it as herself, she didn’t want her fox to take this away from her. She was afraid to lose herself. “I want to do this as myself..” she just whispered, feeling the slightest bit of frustration before she looked up at him again. “Penny for your thoughts?” She said, a small smile on her face hidden in the deep crimson of her blush. Clarissa rested on his chest, her breasts pushed against his body. Her leg was on top of him and she was pulled in close. Ben could feel her warmth, radiating from between her thighs - that alone forced his concentration, hanging on to his humanity by a thread. She kissed him softly, sending waves of pleasure down his body, and told Ben that she wanted him...but that she, too, wanted to do it as herself. As her human. She asked for his thoughts, and Ben let out a short laugh. "I feel like we are still so new to these changes." He ran his fingers through her hair. "I want that closeness with you, Clarissa. I dont know if its human, or beast, or both, but nothing ever felt right before now." Ben brought his head up to meet Clarissa's and gave her a long, passionate kiss, letting his hands explore her body. He moved them down to her pants and slid them off, stroking the inside of her thighs. Ben took off his own pants, leaving them both wearing only their underwear now. He turned to the side, putting his leg in between Clarissa's so that she could grind against him.
00:02
Ben pulled away from the kiss and began moving down to Clarissa's chest, sucking on her breasts until her nipples became firm. Ben was learning the signs of Clarissa losing control - faint bits of fur would start to form on her skin, and he knew that he had to pull back for her. "You know," said Ben, in between kisses on her chest and stomach, "staying human is actually very arousing. feeling that pleasure until the last possible second, and then pulling yourself back from the edge." Ben made his way down, kissing below Clarissa's navel and heading further south. Removing her underwear, which was wet with arousal from their foreplay. His hands caressed her thighs, firmly grasping her body and feeling her form beneath him. He stopped at her clit and raised his head to look at her. His eyes glowed red - at this point, he'd nearly lost control several times. "We've made it this far, C. I don't know if we're gonna be able to control ourselves if we go further." He took the deepest breath he could, his eyes fading back to their normal color. "Do you want me to keep going? I'll try my best, but no promises. And I won't be upset if you lose control, either." His hands moved to her inner thighs, preparing to spread them apart if she approved.

He took the lead and she was glad that he did. The whole time her mind was changing from excited, to shy, to trying not to transform. There were so many things going on in her head and in her body. It was intense and nothing like anything she had ever experience before. He played with her body, exposing even more of her for him to explore. As she closed her eyes she was so aware of every single body part that his lips were touching, leaving small spots of tingling skin behind. The heat in between her legs just build more and more. Several times she could feel her transformation peeking through the surface just for the kisses to stop and give her space to bring herself back to earth. She opened her eyes and looked down towards him when he started to ask her permission to continue. He almost reached that spot, the spot that had been making her feel warm and hot. And just him being that close it had taken everything she had to not become the beast that she was fighting. She suddenly felt tears welling up in her eyes, biting down on her lip to try and prevent them from falling. “I want too.. I really really want to.” She said, sobbing softly. “But I can’t Ben.. I can’t control it. Not if you go there, not if we actually go through with this.” She got up from the bed and gently pulled his face closer to her. “I want to do this as me.. I do care if we lose control.” She whispered to him as she kissed his mouth. Now that she had started to get upset and her emotions were running rampant in her head it was so much easier to lose control. Before she knew it the fur overtook her body, the tails brushed against her back and her vision turned into grey scale. She had changed right there, in the middle of their kiss like how it had happened before. She hadn’t been able to control it. Without her clothes her beast form seemed even more intimidating. It showed just how different her body became. How the shape of her limbs changed, how every inch of her body was covered in a soft fluffy coat of fur. A white strip of it visible over her stomach where it had been hidden before. “I’m so sorry…” she just whispered again.

They'd both been doing a good job controlling their changes, but Clarissa started to lose control as Ben started to move down to her thighs, arousing her. Her eyes started to water, and Clarissa started to sob as she lost control, changing into her beast. Ben stopped what he was doing, feeling awful for having pushed Clarissa to this point. He looked at Clarissa below him, in her beast form, body covered in fur, tails sticking out from beneath her. He smiled at her, and let himself become fully aroused, giving up control and letting himself change into his beast form as well. "Clarissa...you are so beautiful. In both forms. Don't ever apologize for who you are. This is our first time, and we'll get better at this. I'm just glad I'm here with you, that we can be ourselves together." Ben lifted his leg off and over Clarissa's, rolling her onto her side and trying to spoon behind her. He quickly realized this position was not going to work like it normally did - her big, bushy tails got in the way, tickling him and brushing up in his face! He laughed at the circumstance, turning her around so that her front faced him again. Ben leaned in and gave Clarissa a soft kiss on the forehead, wrapping his arms around her. He laid on his back and let her curl up next to him, his arm around her shoulder. The moonlight shone in through Clarissa's window, casting a pale light on them, illuminating their fur as they laid together. Ben leaned in close to her, their heads pressed together. "Tomorrow is a new day, and we will keep looking for the answers. But I'll be honest - as long as it was with you, I don't know if I'd mind spending life like this." He closed his eyes, holding Clarissa tight and dozing off to sleep as a beast, wondering what form he would wake up as in the morning.

She only wanted to cry even more when he just kept talking. Saying how he just wanted to be there together with her no matter what form she was in. She just burried her face in his chest sobbing a bit more. “I want you here too.” She said, muffled into his chest that was full of hair now. They shifted around, trying to find a way for them to lay together that was comfortable for them both. Even if her tails had been very useful when she was running, they were quite a hassle in most other situation. They were big, fluffy and there were nine of them. She didn’t know why there were nine of them, but perhaps they would find that out. In the end he landed on his back and she was leaning half over his chest, her tails laying still around both of them. They almost covered her like a blanket, little white tips on each one of them. She smiled as he once again said he wanted to spend time with her. “I am glad I dropped those testtubes in the lab..” she said with a small chuckle. “Are we going to visit the bar? What if everybody there is like Sean?” She asked. She was still afraid that somehow this beast was just something that would eventually over take them. What if they themselves turned into maniacs who chased after other humans. “Maybe you should try your dad again..” she tried. It seemed like the safer option.

"No, I don't think its a good idea to talk to Dad again," Ben replied. "I haven't been on good terms with him for most of my life, and he seemed adamant that we had to figure this out ourselves. I get the impression he's tried to forget that part of him exists." Ben paused, thinking about that last part. His dad had always been reclusive and depressed - was it because of the secret he hid within? Was Ben going to turn into the same thing? His mom was not a beast...maybe that had to do with it. Being like this, without anyone to understand what you were going through. His heart swelled for Clarissa, knowing he'd been lucky enough to find a partner for this journey from the start. "I think the bar is going to be ok. It might be a bit rough, but we'll be together. And as little as I trusted Sean, I don't think he was just setting us up for a trap. We've got to at least take a look." Ben held Clarissa tight in bed, her head resting on his chest, their fur brushing up against each other. It wasn't even erotic, just incredibly soothing, like the feeling when you pet an animal, except knowing there was another human soul that you were connecting with. They dozed off, and when Ben opened his eyes in the morning he realized that they'd both reverted to their human forms during the night. He lay there for a bit, looking up at the ceiling and processing the insanity of the last couple nights, and the task that lay ahead of them. Ben laid still until Clarissa opened her eyes, smiling and giving her a soft kiss and caressing her soft, now-furless skin under the covers. Ben still felt the tingling in his chest, he probably always would, but he noticed that this time it felt a lot easier to control, it didn't feel like he was going to become a beast at the slightest arousal. He sat up and put his legs down over the edge of the bed, preparing to get up and start their day. "Classes again today, and then we'll check out the bar tonight. Sound good?"

She couldn't say anything about him not wanting to talk to his Dad. She didn't know the history that was there. She didn't know how their relationship was. Even though she was close to her adoptive fathers, this was something she would not be willing to share with them. But his father seemed to know what they were going through. Why wouldn't he help Ben out? Tell him what he needed to know. It seemed so strange to her. She would give so much to meet her biological parents, but they had been dead for a long time. She would hope they would love her more then this guy with his son. "Okay.. If we go together I think I will be okay." she said, still unsure about the whole thing. The bar just seemed like a death trap to her. A place filled with scary things and beasts. A world that they simply didn't understand even a small bit. After that they simply fell asleep. Both of them tired from the day full of new discovered, transformations and emotions. She slept peacefully, no dreams at all. When she eventually woke up and opened her eyes, Ben already seemed to be awake. She was still laying against him, her head resting on his chest instead of a pillow. They were no longer in their beast form and as she felt his hand caress the skin on her back, she instantly realized just how naked she was beside them. She could feel that pressure on her cheeks that indicated that she was blushing. She was probably tomato red by the time she looked up to him. "Morning.." she said in a voice that would indicate a blush even if he had not been able to see it. But she didn't pull back from him. She liked being in his embrace. She stretched herself out a little bit, feeling the soreness in her limbs from the running they had done the night before. "Maybe have some breakfast first?" she then suggested with a smile. They should still have some time before classes.

Ben and Clarissa cuddled in bed a while longer, just enjoying each other's company, the warm feeling that one got from being comfortable naked with another human. Ben noticed her blush when she first realized they'd spent the night together, but as she curled up against him it seemed like she was quickly more comfortable with the new relationship they'd found together. Ben was definitely the one who should have been blushing - unlike Clarissa, he could not hide his arousal. However, it was clear that last night's "practice" had not been for nothing. Two nights ago he would have turned into a beast already, and yet that morning in bed he felt completely in control. They got dressed and ready to head down to the dining commons for breakfast. Ben had to put his clothes on from the night before - he hadn't been planning on spending the night at Clarissa's when yesterday evening had begun. When they got down to the cafeteria, Ben stacked his plate as high as he could, buttered pancakes and syrup, a dozen strips of bacon, sausage, eggs...he hadn't realized it until just then, but he was ravenously hungry. Apparently that sprint through the forest the night before had really taken a lot of energy out of him. He devoured the entire plate, feeling satisfied and much more like himself once he was done. While they were eating breakfast, Ben and Clarissa talked about the night before, about how they felt in their beast form, the changes they were noticing in themselves. It felt good to have someone to talk to, not just about this, but someone to share life with. At one point, Ben asked Clarissa about her parents. "Did you try talking to your parents about things, if either of them knew about what would happen?" He felt lucky to have her, but at the same time it seemed especially unlucky that neither of them had a better resource to learn from than this questionable bar, referred to by a killer wildcat.

After breakfast, the two started walking towards the center of campus, and Ben realized that he still smelled like the forest from the night before. "Hey, can we stop by my room on the way to class? I could really use a shower and a fresh change of clothes." The two made their way to Bens room, and Ben started the water and got out a fresh outfit. "I'll only be a few minutes." He hopped into the bathroom, leaving the door open a crack so that the steam could escape.

She was glad to lay around in bed with him for a bit more, but eventually it was time for both of them to get up. It was when they got up that her shyness got the better of her again. She didn’t have that confidence from her beast to back her up again. She simply dragged the blanket along with her and took some clothing before sneaking into the bathroom to get herself dressed. Once she came out she was washed up, the small bit of make-up she wear applied and her hair back in a somewhat tamed fashion. She was wearing a normal high waisted jeans with a few rippings along the side and a black baggy sweater that was tucked into it. She just smiled at him sheepishly before they headed out. Just like Ben, she was quite peckish and ready to have some good food. She leaned more towards the meats even when she normally tended to have very light breakfast. Together they really cleaned out most of the bacon that was still left over and didn’t even feel guilty about it. “I havn’t.” She said as he asked about her parents. It was a conversation she knew she would eventually have to have with him. “I can’t just call them and talk about this with them. They wouldn’t get it.” She put her head in her hands for a second before she looked back at him. “I am adopted.” She said the smiling at him uncomfortable. “For years I was tossed around from family to family. Appearantly there was something about me that nobody wanted. I was called out of control, unfocused, some even said I was hard to handle.” She explained to them. She had spend so much time in her childhood being told how terrible she was. She had learned to control her behavior to the point that it now no longer existed inside of her. She wondered if her beast maybe had something to do with that. “Eventually I found a home when I was 13. I am adopted by two wonderful men who love me very much. Two gay men.” She paused a moment to try and see what his reaction was. “I can’t call them and tell them I grew nine tails over night. I am sorry.” And she continued their breakfast. She followed him to his dorm room and sat down on a chair that sitting by his desk. “Yeah, don’t worry. Take your time.” She smiled at him before he disappeared into his bathroom. She looked around the room. It was so much like her own, but at the same time so different. Hers was so colorful and bright and girly and his was definitely not that. She hugged her backpack close to her chest as she waited for him to finish up. She thought about what she had told him. She really wanted to be able to talk to her dads about it. They had showed her all the love she could have asked for. They were patient and kind and forgiving with her. But she was still terrified of their rejection. Even now she always felt like she couldn’t truly be herself with them, like she had to walk on eggshells to keep him happy. Scared that if she were to just be herself like she was with Ben.. that they would not want her anymore. This belonged in that category. (edited)

Ben hadn't realized that Clarissa had been adopted; it made a lot more sense now why she didn't have anyone to turn to about this, either. So, it's just the two of us having to figure this out, he thought as she told him the stories about her childhood. Ben finished up his shower, got dressed and stepped out, ready for class, his hair still a bit wet. Last night's adventure had left him smelling like earth and musk, and he noted that it felt good to smell human again. He walked up to Clarissa, who was waiting for him to wrap up, taking her hands into his. "Look, I...I know this is all new and crazy. And I don't know what we're going to find out, or how we will change as we discover more about our abilities. But I promise we'll do it together, and I will protect you." Ben kissed Clarissa softly and smiled at her. "Come on, lets get to class." Classes passed quickly again that day - with so much to think about from the night before, Ben felt like he was distracted for a moment and then suddenly class was over.He and Clarissa had arranged to meet at the field in front of campus before heading out. Ben wore blue jeans, with a bomber jacket covering a white v-neck. His hair had product in it tonight, and fell to the side of his face in soft curls. After a few minutes, he caught sight of Clarissa and he had trouble keeping his mouth from hanging open. She was dressed in a leather motorcycle jacket over a snug white tank top that left her stomach exposed, paired with black jeans and heels. Ben let out a small chuckle, realizing that combined with her heels, hen she turned into her beast she would be towering over him. "You...look absolutely amazing. Ready for a night out?" They hopped in a cab, and the driver asked where they were headed. "The Thirsty Lion please," Ben replied. The drive looked back at them with a look of doubt. "Pretty rough place for two kids like you. You sure?" Ben gulped, but tried to hide his apprehension. "Yep, we're sure."
22:01
A few minutes later, the cab stopped at a building on the edge of town. The bar was in an industrial area, and the streets were dead quiet. This did not appear to be the kind of neighborhood you'd normally find a club. It was dark already, and the main source of light on the street was the flickering neon sign, a graphic of a lion at a pool of water. The front of the bar looked like it could use a paint job. A gruff bouncer sat at the giant metal front door, which looked more like the entrance to a freezer than that of a club. Ben took Clarissa's hand, squeezing it. "We've got this. This is the best way for us to figure out what we are. Are you ready?"

Even though classes had seemed to move fast for Ben, to Clarissa they had seemed excruciatingly slow. She was more distracted then ever and her notebook was quickly filling up with doodles. They were doodles of them. Of how Ben’s face had looked when it was covered in fur. Of how she imagined her body had looked. She even drew Ben in just his boxers with his chest bare and it had made her blush so hard she had needed to turn the page. She was trying to keep herself focused on how much she liked being with Ben, instead of how a part of her still felt so uncomfortable with her new form. She couldn’t get the thought out of her head that the other beast had meant to kill the girl and how he had made it seem like it was no big deal. She was terrified that they would walk into the bar and just find human arms and fingers on plates being served around. At the same time she knew how silly that sounded. She just sighed as the clocked kept ticking away in a much slower pace then she wanted it to. She wanted t be with Ben more then anything. Be with the one person who understood how she was feeling and what she was now. She also still needed to get her phone fixed, she couldn’t even text him during class to ask how he was doing. She would need to do that tomorrow. When the bell finally rang she almost ran out of the classroom. She made her way to her dorm and started to change. The bar had sounded like a big more of a rough place, so a nice dress wouldn’t do. She picked out clothes that made her seem a lot more badass then she actually was. It was an outfit that fit way better with the fox side of her then her human side. But perhaps that was exactly how it should be. They were going to need to be transformed when they entered appearantly. She then ran off own the steps again to make her way to the field in front of campus and of course she was early. It took only a few minutes for Ben to appear behind her and she instantly found those butterflies fluttering in her stomach. He complimented her and she couldn’t help but blush, brushing her hair behind her ear. “Thank you, you look good too..” she said back in a shy manner before she hooked her arm into his. The cab brought them to an industrial area that was so remote that it gave her the creeps. Even the outside of the cab looked like it was one of those places her dads had always warned her about. It made her doubt their decision even more, thinking perhaps they were beter off just figuring this out themselves anyway. But Ben didn’t seem to share her hesitation and just got out of the car without much hesitation. He grabbed a hold of her hand and she looked up towards him. “No..” she answered truthfully, she was scared. She pulled him towards her and put his hands on her hips before she pressed her lips against his. She closed her eyes and let their tongues dance with one another, finding the courage she needed in him. She could feel her body already transform and this time there was no need to fight against it. The nine tails soon were dancing behind her again and her ears were poking out from underneath her black hair. Her body covered in the black and silver fur that started to become more familiar and the crop top she was wearing showing off that bit of white that grew there. She broke off their kiss then. “Better..” she said with a small chuckle. This form definitely did something to her confidence.

Clarissa didn't answer Ben's question with words; instead, she drew his arms around her and pulled him in for a passionate kiss. The puddles in the parking lot shimmered against the street lights and the neon signs of the bar in front of them. For a moment, Ben felt like he was far more ordinary and plain compared to the adventurous setting they found themselves in, but then he opened his eyes and saw Clarissa in front of him, smiling at him, her fur shimmering silvery grey and white. It was only then that he realized that he had been able to keep from transforming without much thought. Good that it was becoming easier, but now was not the time for that. He let his mind wander, to the memory of him being on top of Clarissa, their beast forms caught in a wild embrace in the forest - and that was all it took for him to change. Perhaps becoming somewhat aroused at the thought, as well, but now was not the time for that. There they stood, furry beasts in the parking lot that would certainly be a sight to see for anyone who was not expecting them. Ben, with his shirt taught against his more muscular wolven form; Clarissa, the back of her pants being pushed down by the tails sprouting from her lower back. "Welp. Here goes nothing." Ben removed his hands from her hips, taking one of her palms in his, their fingers interlaced. They walked down the parking lot towards the bar.
19:32
As they approached the bar, they witnessed someone else approaching the door. He was still human, but as he walked up, he changed to reveal a mouse-like creature. His nose extended to a point, and his eyes turned dark and beady. Whiskers sprouted from his cheeks. When he caught sight of Clarissa and Ben in the corner of his vision, he seemed alarmed - but when he realized they, too, were beasts, he began to calm down. "Haven't seen you around here before - you must be new. Chad Kritzmaus, Mauzhertz at your service. Looks like....a blutbad and a fuchsbau?" He glanced behind them, at Clarissa's tails. "Ooh, no, a kitsune! Don't see many of you around these parts." He chuckled nervously at them. Ben got the sense that this beast was...nervous? He seemed very timid, which he supposed would make sense for a mouse. Totally different vibe than the cat they had met in the woods. He didn't know if he could necessarily trust Chad, but at the least he seemed like someone who might be able to get them acquainted with the bar. Ben put out a furry front paw, which seemed to make Chad a bit more relaxed. "Heya, I'm Ben, this is Clarissa. And yeah, this is our first time here. Can we buy you a drink and share some stories?" Chad lit up at the suggestion - it gave Ben the impression that perhaps he didn't have many friends here at the bar. He hoped he'd made the right decision with Chad, but also with Clarissa - was it smart to be bringing her to a place like this? He quickly dismissed the thought, they had to do this together, and besides, he didn't feel like he'd have the courage to do it alone, beast or not. "Sure, I'd love that," Chad nearly squeaked. The three walked up to the door, in front of which stood a bouncer who honestly seemed larger than life, his head almost reaching the awning of the bar entrance. As they approached, he changed, his skin becoming thick and grey and a rhino's horn erupting from the center of his face. He nodded at the three.
19:32
"Chad. Some new friends?" his voice was deep and confident, but non-threatening. "Yeah! this is Ben and Clarissa. They're new here." "Pleasure to meet you both. Watch out for the lausenschlange, he can be mean when drunk." The rhino grinned at them. They entered the bar and were greeted with...well, pretty much a normal bar. On one side was a wooden counter that spanned the length of the room. Behind it was a mirrored wall, covered with shelves of beverages and taps of beer. In front of the bar were a couple circular wooden tables, and at the other end of the room were pool tables. The only thing that was not normal, in fact, were the inhabitants of that room. Beasts of all kinds roamed the bar. The woman behind the bar looked like another blutbad, the same wiry fur as Ben. The tables were filled with beasts of all different types - one had a group of female birds, their feathers different colors. Another had cats - one blue, one yellow with black spots, another a tawny brown. Over by the pool tables, two beasts played against each other, one covered in green snake-like scales, the other with giant ram's horns coming out of its skull. They walked over to the bar for drinks. "Three beers, please. The hefeweizen." The bartender turned to him and raised an eyebrow when she realized he was one of her kind. He was glad his fur was covering his blushing cheeks at that moment. Her flirty expression became neutral when she spotted Clarissa next to him. "Sure, coming right up." They got their beers and took a seat at one of the tables. Ben leaned in towards Chad and asked him in a low voice: "So, which one's the Lausenschlange?"

Soon they were both back in those beastly forms. She touched over the rough hairs that now covered Ben's face. She didn't even know why she found him to be so attractive in this form, but she did. It also didn't help that whenever she was in her beast she was so much more prone by animalistic desires. She just bit down on her lip and forced a smile towards him like nothing really was going on and turned back towards the bar. The bar still scared her, but she would lie if a part of her wasn't getting excited. That excitement only grew when the mouse-like creature appeared. It was somehow nice to see all the different types of beasts that there seemed to be. Though it was also a bit disturbing about how they all seemed to be able to name just what they were by just looking at them. "Kitsune?" she asked as she looked back at the nine tails that were still trailing behind her. So not a Fuchsbau.. She walked after them, happy to let Ben do the talking while she just kept an eye on what was happening around her. Her ears were moving from side to side, her hearing much enchanced by the form she was in. She just watched everything that was happening around them while Ben talked to the mouse. "I think it is that one." Clarissa just said, looking at the one that was covered in the scales. She didn't even know how she knew, it was some sort of instinct. "How does everyone know who the others are? The names of what they are? It isn't like there is a book to learn this from is there?" Clarissa asked, even if she knew how silly it made her sound.

Chad let out a chuckle at Clarissa's suggestion. "Yep, you've got a good sense for danger. Lucas over there is the Lausenschlange." Ben had struggled to say the word, but Chad pronounced it like he spoke these strange german words all the time. "For the most part, you just start to learn more and more about different vesen after you turn. I don't know them all, but I know the more common ones. And a few of the rare ones, like you." Chad glanced up at Clarissa and then quickly averted his gaze, raising his beer to his furry lips. "There are books, but...it's mostly the Grimms that have those." His expression turned to one of nervousness. "A Grimm? Is that a kind of vesen?" asked Ben. "No, heh definitely not." Chad's nervous demeanor deepened, turning into a frown. "Grimms can see our beast forms, even when we havent turned. They hunt vesen." Ben was frowning now too. Chad quickly made an attempt to address their fears. "Don't worry though, Grimms are pretty rare, I've never seen one around here before. And a lot of them only hunt vesen who have caused harm to others." Ben raised an eyebrow at Chad. He didn't like the sound of these Grimms, but maybe they had nothing to worry about. Their cat friend on the other hand...Ben made an impulse decision about Chad. He seemed like he could be trusted, and that he'd be able to help teach them more about who they were. "We stopped a vesen from hurting someone last night. In the woods. His name was Sean, he was...a Klaustreich? Do you know him?" Chad let out a nervous laugh. "Yeah, I know Sean. He stops by the bar every once in a while." He motioned at the bartender and bouncer. "Here in the bar, they make sure no one gets hurt, but I wouldn't want to be caught alone with Sean. Or Lucas over there. Maushertz like me is prey for those guys." Ben's train of thought turned from the Grimm that Chad had mentioned. He was now thinking about these other vesen. He was hoping Sean was an outlier, that they weren't all violent, but now it was starting to seem like some were more aggressive than others. He looked at Clarissa, who had already proven she could defend herself, but still - his instincts kicked in and he felt especially protective of her in front of the other vesen. He took her hand under the table next to him, giving it a firm, reasurring grasp. The table had become awkwardly silent, so Ben decided to change the subject. "OK, so how do you learn to control your change? When we got angry the other night it just happened." "First of all, its called a woge - that's when you become your beast," Chad replied. "And the more you practice, the easier it gets to control." Ben thought back to earlier, how he hadn't transformed - woged - outside the bar until he concentrated on it. Just then, the bar door opened. In stepped a vesen wearing black jeans and a black leather jacket. His woge was wolf like, but not blutbad - his ears were pointier, snout larger, and had sharp canines poking out of his mouth. Everyone at the bar went silent when he entered, people turning and murmuring to each other. Chad's face went white. "Hundjager. Not the type of vesen you see to often in these parts. Nor do you want to."

While the two of them were talking Clarissa took another chance to look around. It was such a strange world. Everyone had ears and fear, or scales, or feathers. They were beautiful, but strange and scary at the same time. She almost wished she had brought a notebook to capture the likes of them. Even if she drew all of them in perfect detail, nobody would ever believe these were things that actually existed. She also couldn't believe she herself was even like this. At least their new friend seemed more then willing to talk about everything. About Grimms and vesen and their transformation being a woge. At least over time they should learn to control it. "So how do you become this way? Why are we vesen?" she suddenly asked as she joined the conversation. "Ooh that is easy! At least one of your parents was a vesen. In your case probably both, Kitsune tend to stick to their own." Chad answered as he was still eyeing the Hundjager that had just entered. Clarissa looked over at Ben. "That explains how your father knew." she said with a small smile. "He's coming this way.." Chad suddenly said and quickly turned towards the bar, visually nervous. "Fresh meat?" his voice was smooth but deep, the kind that you would hear at a radio station. Clarissa turned around to face him. Even though she found Ben handsome in his form, his somehow not so much. "You could call us that." she simply answered him while her hand reached under the bar to take Ben's into hers. She wondered if he was like Sean.. the kind to hunt a woman into the woods and play with them like a toy. His eyes turned to Ben who was sitting beside her. "Too bad you didn't come alone. Don't get to see a Kitsune too often, no less a black one."

Ben listened to Chad tell them more about vesen. Clarissa's parents seemed like the big mystery here - they were probably both vesen? And they tended to stick together? In that case, why had she been abandoned by them? Without letting her adopted family know about what would happen to her when she grew older. Maybe they did know something? Ben's lineage seemed rather cut-and-dried, but it seemed like there was more to Clarissa's story than met the eye. He didn't have much time to pursue that train of thought further, as the Hundjager locked eyes with the back of Clarissa, nine tails poking out from the back of her jeans. He made a beeline for their table, and Chad's eyes grew wide as he approached. "Fresh meat?" The comment to them made Ben's blood boil, he could feel the heat rising within him. If he were not already woged, he certainly would have now. Another comment about Clarissa's vogen, the Kitsune. Seemed like there was really more than met the eye there, something they'd have to look into more. At the last comment the Hundjager made, Ben stood up and turned around to face him. "Yeah, well she didn't come alone. She's with me. Is that a problem?" He honestly couldn't believe what he was doing, his first night in this bar, but when he was in his beast form he felt a need to protect Clarissa at any cost.
22:22
The Hundjager squared Ben up, looking him up and down, sniffing Ben's feral scent. "A newbie blutbad, eh? So cute. Usually you're protective of your own kind, but over a Kitsune? What an odd couple." He leaned in, looking at Ben and ignoring Clarissa. "If I were you I'd ditch her, I'm amazed her kind hasn't come looking for her yet. " Kitsunes, looking for Clarissa? thought Ben. That's interesting...I dont even think they know she exists. As much as Ben hated to admit it, it was clear that this guy had clues that could lead them to Clarissa's parents. "Where she goes, I go." Ben summoned as much bravado as he could to appear nonchalant with the Hundjager. "Do you know where these Kitsune reside? Know your enemy, and all that." The Hundjager smiled wickedly at Ben, making it clear that he saw through his bluff. He had they information they wanted, perhaps - but at what cost?

She had wanted to comment on the Hundjager’s rude comment, but Ben was already on his feet. She couldn’t help but smile, he was always there for her when she needed him. He was proving that over and over again. Even in this strange world they found themselves in, he was ready to step in and be there for her. She couldn’t imagine doing it alone. She stayed on the back until the Hundjager started to mention more about the Kitsune’s. She had already decided she didn’t like this guy, but he had information.. “What do you mean, hasn’t come for me yet?” She interrupted them. He turned towards her, a wicked grin on his face. “I mean that Kitsune’s ain’t alone.. ever. They are like a cult, always sticking together doing their strange little rituals and habits.” He obviously he didn’t like her kind very much. “Do you know where these Kitsune reside? Know your enemy, and all that.” Ben came in from his side with a question. “I have no clue.. Kitsune find you, and once they find you, you are dead meat.” He finally sat down at the bar then ordering a drink. Clarissa needed a minute to think about that. Thinking back about how they found Sean in the woods. Was her kind like that? Ruthless hunters who hurt for the sport of it? She wrapped her arms around her furry body, she didn’t like that thought. “So what is your name?” She asked him then, in the very least knowing a name would be handy. He took a sip from his drink and looked back at the odd couple. “Alex, yours?” Was his answer. “I am Clarissa and this is Ben.” She said, motioning to Ben. She stepped closer to him, wanting to hold his hand. “You two really are new borns..” Alex just smiled. “You should hunt with us sometime! You are both predators, won’t truly feel alive until you have hunted something.” He laughed a boldering laugh at them. “Hunting? Like.. humans?” She asked. Again he laughed, this time buckling over the bar. “Of course not humans! Animals. Squirrels, rabbits, maybe a deer. There is no such thrill as surrounding a prey and catching it. And eating it. I mean you must have found your appetite spiking for meat since your first woge.” Clarissa considered it then looked over at Ben. “What do you think?”

The Hundjager said that he didn't know where they could find other Kitsune, and introduced himself as Alex. Something about his response made Ben think that he was hiding something from them, but they'd have to get closer to him if they had any chance of finding out what that was. Alex began talking about hunting for animals, suggesting that he and Clarissa probably had an appetite for meat since they first found their new forms. Ben thought back to lunch earlier that day, devouring plate after plate of pasta with meat sauce. At one point he was pretty sure he'd just been drinking the bolognese straight. He invited the two "newborns" to hunt with them - who was them? Ben was unsure of whether he wanted to find out. Which was why he was especially surprised when Clarissa actually considered the idea, asking him what he thought. Ben was worried, but he didn't want Clarissa to see that, and he especially didn't want her to see it in front of Alex. "I'll admit that the thought of a nice juicy steak sounds pretty amazing right now." He turned to Alex, trying to stare through him and determine his sincerity. "Sure, that sounds good. When and where?" Alex grinned at them both. Ben was hoping it was a grin at their predicament as young, clueless vesen and not something more sinister. "There's a field just outside this bar, that backs up to the forest. Meet us at the forest's edge at 3am tonight, after the bar closes." Three in the morning?? thought Ben. It was going to be another late night for them - somehow he had the feeling this was going to quickly become a frequent occurrence. "Sure, we'll see you then. "
21:39
"Perfect," replied Alex. He raised a hand for the bartender, 4 fingers extended. The bartender took out a bottle of dark black liquor, pouring four shots at the bar next to them. "In that case, i'll be seeing you both in a couple hours." He walked over to the bar as he said these words, taking the shots and downing them one after the other. At the end, he took a sharp intake of breath, and then began walking towards the door. "Who's us?" Ben called at him. Alex chuckled. "You'll see," and then headed out the door. There was no question who had the winning hand here. Once he'd left, the conversation at the table started up again - Chad was the first so speak, nearly vibrating with nervous energy. "Ooh, you two need to watch out if you're doing that. Alex rides with a rough crew. I mean, tough for me. Maybe not tough for you. I mean, not that you're a bunch of bad apples. I mean -" "Relaaaax, Chad." Ben smiled at him, trying to muster up some confidence that would hide his concern. He turned to Clarissa. "If if can help us figure out more about your family, I'm in. I dont think Alex told us everything there is to know tonight." He turned back to Chad. "So, Chad. What's this crew of Alex's like? Hell, what is everything like. Tell us everything you know, we've got some catching up to do." Ben figured if they were going to be staying at the bar until closing, they may as well take advantage of the time with Chad. The next few hours flew by as Chad told them all about vesen-kind: blutbaden and damonfeuer, reinegen and mauzhertz. Before they knew it, the bar was starting to close up, and 3am was quickly approaching. The two walked out of the bar - it was a strange sensation, being drunk in vesen form. The intoxication was there, but somehow their primal senses were even more heightened by the alcohol - it was as if the alcohol was suppressing what little human thought patterns were left while woged. They parted ways with Chad - making sure to walk him out, the Lausenschlange was starting to look at him particularly hungrily, by the end of the night - and walked out into the field next to the bar, headed towards the forest at the properties' edge. At one point, Ben stopped to pull Clarissa in for a kiss. In the moonlit darkness, out in nature, in their beast forms, it felt so primal as their fur brushed against each other. Ben felt like he could lose himself in the feeling, lose his humanity and just be a beast with Clarissa. Being woged with her so long that night felt like running into a tunnel of darkness, where normal human life felt like the speck of light at the beginning of the tunnel that you were traveling further and further from. Thinking of the task that lay ahead of them, Ben suddenly became fiercely protective of Clarissa. Who knows who they were about to meet out here, what they were about to hunt, but for all intents and purposes she was his mate here. He took her hand in his as they walked towards the edge of the field, a number of shadowy figures coming into focus upon the tree line.

The rest of the night in the bar seemed to go by in a blur. There were drinks and talks. Loads of names of different vesen being thrown around, to many for her to really remember at once. The more they drank the more she could feel those feral urges rising to the surface. She also became more hungry, but not for fries or burgers.. for something different. She was almost glad when three AM rolled around and the bar was starting to close. She said goodbye to Chad, happy to finally have some time alone with Ben. He pulled her in for a kiss and their lips soon dances together. Her claws went underneath his jacket and softly raked over the skin on his back. It took a lot in both of them to not just lose themselves right there in that parking lot. She smiled as their kiss broke staring him in the eyes. She hadn’t changed her mind that she wanted their first time to be as humans, but in that moment it was hard to remember that promise she made to herself. “You ready?” She just asked the as she took just a small step back. Physical distance helped between them. They walked towards the edge of the forest line and it was clear that whoever was taking them hunting was already there. It didn’t take long before the shadowy figures moved from the line of the forest and surrounded them. There was a total of five, all Hundjager. It was almost intimidating as they gathered themselves around them. Clarissa found herself baring her teeth from the simple act of being surrounded. “There is the fresh blood!” One of them chuckled. It was Alex, the one they met at his bar. Another moved closer, smelling the air around them. “They are new borns! I thought you were kidding us Alex.” The other one bouldered. “Now, now. Give them them some space boys.” Alex said. He seemed to be their leader. Clarissa had read about how wolves always had an Alpha in their pack. She wondered if that was how it worked with them too. Neither she or Ben had ever been with other vesen of their kind. She wondered if they would feel that same bond if they did. “So we are hunting?” Clarissa tried to sound confident and even gave Ben a small push to encourage him too. “Yes, hunting. This forest behind us is jam packed with little creatures. You newbies can go after some squirrels and rabbits. Us boys.. We have been hunting for wild boars for a few days now. Time to get ourselves some pork.” He said encouraging the guys around them. Clarissa didn’t like how he was belittling them, but she guessed she had to start somewhere. She looked at Ben, a weird rush filling her at the thought of hunting together with him. “Let’s get some meat.” She smiled at him.

The pack of hundjagers surrounded Ben and Clarissa - Ben put on his best bravado, but he'd be lying if he said he wasnt intimidated by them. They were putting their trust in the pack of beasts, they would not turn out to be the prey being hunted that night. "So are we hunting?" Clarissa asked, giving Ben a nudge. Guess that bravado wasnt working so well after all - he realized that Clarissa was portraying more confidence than he as she bared her fangs. Ben tried to be a bit fiercer, but it was already too late, they'd all know it was a bluff. Luckily, it didn't seem like they had much to worry about - the pack seemed focus on hunting animals and not newbie vesen. Clarissa was ready to go - it was funny, the last time they were in the forest together, she was the unsure one, and yet now Clarissa seemed to accept her new normal more even more easily than he did. "You newbies take the rear until you see or smell something, then go for it. And don't weigh us down - you're on your own out there. Let's go!" With that, the pack took off, running into the forest and kicking dirt into the air. Ben had adrenaline coursing through him, and he felt like the beast took over more of him than ever before. They took off into the forest behind the back, clawing branches and leaves out of the way and running through parts of the forest that had no path. The pack knew these forests well, and sped through in unison, knowing every turn to make and every branch to avoid. Ben heard Alex laughing as he narrowly missed a giant trunk as they flew through the brush. Suddenly, as they were running, Ben caught a scent on his nose. Something raw and...musky. It was undeniably a wild animal of some kind, he just didn't know what. The hundjagers didn't seem distracted by it, so definitely not a boar. He signaled to Clarissa, who was running next to him, and they took off from the rest of the pack. Ben followed the scent, which in itself was an entirely new experience. It was one thing to be following the pack of vesen, but it was an entirely different thing to be following a scent that drifted across your nostrils. They were approaching a clearing in the trees, and the musky smell was getting stronger, to the point it almost irritated Ben's nostrils. Whatever it was, they were very close. Suddenly, he saw movement out in the clearing that was in front of them. He ducked behind a tree, grabbing Clarissa and bringing her in next to him. They leaned their heads over the side of the tree, looking for the source of the movement in the distance.

Before she knew it they were back running through the forest the same way they had done the night before. In almost an instinct she found back that same rush of adrenaline that she had felt before. Running there with Ben by her side, it was almost as if she was made for doing just that. Her hands dug into the earth with every movements forward, kicking it up in the air behind them. Keeping up with the pack was a whole different game. They were quick, knew the forest like their back pocket. Multiple times she got swept in the face by a stray branch or almost tripped into the ground as something poked out from the forest floor. But they kept up to the best of their ability, until Ben motioned for them to separate themselves from the others. She followed him without a second thought and it didn't take long before they were both staring at a prey in front of them. Clarissa knew to instantly calm her breath, or the animal would have picked up that they were there. It was a beautiful young deer. Why it was there in the forest all by themselves, she didn't know. Her nose filled with it's scent and instantly she found her mouth watering at the sight of it. "What now?" she whispered in the softest voice she could manage. "Do we just jump it?" she felt unsure suddenly. In her human form she wouldn't even kill a fly, let alone a deer. Even now that part of her was nagging at the back of her brain. In the very least she wanted it to be quick and painfree. The deers head suddenly turned, it's ears upright and at attention. Had it seen them? Or heard them? Or smelled them? She duck further behind the bush with Ben trying to make no sound at all. The pack had told them to go after some rabbits or squirrels. She didn't think they meant for them to take on a young deer, but everything inside of her told her to go for it.

Ben pointed at the deer that stood in the clearing, oblivious to their presence. This was a rapidly evolving situation - before now, he had never even fished, much less hunted - and now, here he was hunting a live animal with his bare hands. Well, claws. Clarissa questioned their plan of attack. "I guess so. Maybe one of us goes around whi-" Somewhere in the forest, the sound of a twig snapping echoed through the trees. The deer looked up and around, seeking the source of the noise. Ben and Clarissa stood absolutely still, waiting for it to return to grazing. Unfortunately, that was not in the cards for them. The deer turned and looked directly at them, its beady black eyes making direct eye contact with Ben. For a moment, they faced off, but then the deer suddenly turned and sprinted into the brush. Ben took off after it, yelling to Clarissa behind him. "Try and flank him!" Ben got onto all fours, gaining speed on the creature. They bounded through the forest, ripping some branches out of his way and ducking under others. They bounded through a shallow stream in the dark, his footprints landing moments behind the prey. There was a steep hill on the opposite bank of the river, and Ben started to lose speed, the lithe deer having the advantage and slowly pulling ahead. He hoped that Clarissa was closeby, because it seemed like the deer was about to outrun him. (edited)

She had really thought that they could have been tactical about it, but before they were even able to form a plan, the deer was already off into the woods. “Try and flank him!” Was the last thing she heard before Ben was off besides her and soon she was after them too. She sprinted off to the side, trying to find a path through the dense forestation. At first her steps were unsure again, but soon those beastly instinct took over again. She could feel her claws digging more into the dirt with every step she took. She picked up speed, going faster then she would ever believe that her feet were able to keep up with. Slowly she lost herself again. There was nothing around them but the scent of the deer, the rustling of the trees and Ben who was right on it’s heels. Having taken an easier route she was soon pulling ahead and when the deer started to climb up the hill and leave Ben behind she knew it was her turn to do what she could. She leaped to the side and the moment the deer reached the top of the hill she buried herself into the side of it, tackling it to the ground. They tumbled down the side of the hill together, twigs breaking all around them yet she did not let go. Her nails were digging into the deer skin enough to draw it’s blood and make it cry out for help. It wasn’t till they reached the bottom of the hill and stopped that Clarissa sort of came back to her senses. The deer was struggling underneath her, it’s black beaded eyes looking at her pleading for it’s life. They were killing this creature for the pure thrill of the hunt and she couldn’t help but feel a tang of guilt pulling at her human heart. She looked around, hoping Ben had caught up to her by now. “We need to do it quick.. it shouldn’t suffer.”

The three of them - Ben, Clarissa, and the fleeing deer - tore through the underbrush at breakneck speed. Ben couldnt see where Clarissa was but could hear the sound of something moving through the trees to his left - he'd have to trust that was her running beside him and not some other creature looking for a hunt. As the terrain became steeper, Ben began to lose his advantage over the deer's slender legs. Just when it was about to disappear out of sight, he saw a blur of color that Ben recognized as Clarissa's outfit jump out from beside the deer, tackling it and rolling with it to the ground. If not for her clothing, Ben would never have thought it to be another human being. Clarissa straddled the deer, restraining it on the ground and calling for Ben's help. He could see the hesitation in Clarissa's eyes, the human side of her calling out from deep within telling her not to follow through with the hunt. The other side of her, though, was restraining the deer with ease. Ben finally got to them, the deer writhing and crying on the ground. Ben had that human part of him hesitating, but it's cry was a distant voice in his psyche. He took the deer's head in his hands as Clarissa restrained it, and with a single jerking motion snapped its neck, granting it an instant and painless death.

Ben and Clarissa stood, looking down at the deer's lifeless body on the ground. Ben chest heaved, still catching his breath from the chase and registering what he'd done. He looked at Clarissa next to him and realized they were both standing on the precipice of losing themselves to their beasts, this last feral act in the middle of the forest the last piece of their humanity to go. They had come so far, Ben knew the last step had to be completed. He closed his eyes, knelt down and sank his teeth into the deer's abdomen, tearing away fur and flesh and causing blood to spill out. He resisted at first, but once he tasted the prey he lost control, feeding on it. He was so lost in the act, he did not notice until later if Clarissa had joined him, nor did he see the pair of yellow eyes watching them from the brush.
