"The Alpha refuses to speak to your kind." The soldier said to Lou upon returning. Lou could tell the soldier relished giving this message, despite their straight face.
"Furthermore..." The soldier continued, "You and any other Vampires are to leave Whitefang territory by their command."
"And his majesty, the Prince?" Lou asked, ever calm and collected. "What is their answer?"
The soldier scowled. "The same."
Lou nodded. "Very well." he produced a card from his pocket. "The Midnight Creek Sheriff's Office is hereby requesting both of them to come to the station at their next convenience as material witnesses to a mass murder. They will absolutely have the right to request a particular officer to interview them, but their presence is mandatory. Failure to comply may be considered an obstruction of justice." He spoke these words with absolute neutrality and courtesy, bowing in respect. "Thank you for your time and have a good day."
With that, Lou turned on a heel and returned to where Rich and Althea stood.
