Did she have questions, hm, yes she had lots of questions! But her stomach growled and she figured she’d better save them for later. Pressing matters could wait, right? Everyone needed breakfast, and if Amelio was going to cook her eggs he was in for a big surprise. “I only eat fruit in the morning,” she said loudly from the livingroom, calling out to wherever Amelio was in the house.
She wasn’t trying to be difficult, but ever since that summer she spent on a farm with Aunt Dabbi she was forced to eat fresh eggs every morning. After that experience, she couldn’t stomach them anymore. Cherry got to her feet and walked to the kitchen, grabbing one of the stools under the island and sat down, propping her elbows on the countertop.
“Amelio, how can I use my powers? How do I activate them?” She looked at her hands and tried shaking them, but nothing happened. Her blue eyes scanned the kitchen for answers but didn’t find anything helpful. She was bewildered. Her tiny fists clenched into her lap and she sulked forward, blonde hair sliding over her shoulders to hang on the countertop. She still felt hungover even though she hadn’t been drinking the night before.
She thought about the portal Amelio created, bringing them from one location to another. The fact their families were feuding for centuries. Her choice to leave her home. The demon that wanted her to make a deal and…. worked for Amelio? His family? She forgot about that part. Her gaze slowly rose to stare at Amelio, wondering if she could trust him, but in the end, she was distracted by his shirtless body and soft brown skin.
