Tal'Galan BOT 12-Oct-21 07:17 PM
The planet of Fondor was nothing short of messy and filled with ships of all shapes and sizes. A multitude of Imperial vessels came here for repairs or to pass time between missions or anything in between. Nothing good could ever come out of an Imperial planetary shipyard, but with so many individuals loyal to the Empire coming in and out of here, a ship docking underneath others and hiding out wasn't exactly the most attention-grabbing thing. In one of these small, remote ships lied a black-clad vessel. Similar to a carrier cruiser but more sleek and low-profile, an X-70B Phantom parked precariously underneath a mammoth of a Star Destroyer. Atop this ship was a man clad in dark armor, hooded and covered from head to toe in dull metal. Even his mask kept him well hidden, offering no sign or idea of who he was or what he looked like. The only thing that stood out about him was his height. He was relatively tall for a humanoid figure, standing at about 6'7". Then again, with so many different races standing even taller, it didn't seem like much of a feat.

With his robes keeping him mostly covered, the man pulled out a small disc, and holding it in the palm of his hand. Within moments, he pressed a small button and a holographic figure came to fruition on his pad. The figure he called upon was also a robe-clad individual, hood up and blocking his face. "I see you've made it to Fondor, Tal.." The raspy voice said as the communicator came in and out of signal. "So it would seem." He responded in a cold, robotic voice. "I had to make a stop for fuel, then I plan on continuing towards my objective." The small machine buzzed as the figure chuckled a bit. "It'd be best not to leave your new companion behind, Tal'Galan. You'll do well to train this one." With that, the figure waved his hand and the call slowly died. The man pocketed the communications device in the pocket of his robe and stood up, brushing off the dark cloth with his hands. He jumped down from the roof of his ship and onto the dock beside it. Giving his ship a once-over, he interacted with a small pad next to the side door and watched as it hissed open. He took a step inside but left the door open, taking a few steps towards a bench beside the door and seating himself there as he patiently waited for this "new companion" that he was told about.

The metal droid at her side beeped twice. It was a small machine with four wheels and no arms, and what it lacked in mechanics, it made up for in speed. As Jade headed towards the shipyard docks, the droid on her left kept up with this unusually brisk pace - its wheels whizzed in a high-pitched ring the faster it went. “I am late, G2 - you must keep up or I will be forced to leave you here. The odds of Tal’Galan letting you onboard are slim.” The droid beeped with concern, and Jade grinned. Her boots stomped in the shallow puddles on the dock, splashing water around her covered ankles. The rain ended only a few minutes prior and the scent of oil could be smelled for miles. “Yes, G2, I know you could rust. I will be more careful, alright?” To which Jade avoided stepping into another pile of water. Fondor’s weather had been less than ideal lately - yet for her, and others like her, this type of atmospheric coverage was an advantage when holding a desire to come and go without being seen. An empty platform waited at the end of the ramp, and once Jade was on it with her droid secured by her feet, she pressed a square button on the conveyer’s panel and held onto the railing next to her. Her knees bent as they jolted forward with great speed. The platform sped through the shipyard following a track that eventually ended into a cloud of fog. She hopped off with the droid following her every step.
19:34
Moments later...Jade emerged. Swirls of thick white mist coiled around her. She was covered in black material from head to toe, exposed only at the eyes, which were violet in color - even her mouth was covered by a black mask. This was her first time working with...someone else. She did not consider Tal’Galan a partner. In a few short moments, he would be her Master. Tal’Galan was, from what she had heard, someone who was not to be trusted. So when she approached him, walking up the ramp of the ship, her focus was centered on any weapons he carried. She paused in his presence then bowed, respectfully, before returning to a full height. “My Lord,” she said, keeping her eyes lowered before raising them to meet his own. The droid beeped, squeaking as it attempted to bow. Jade glanced at the small machine and shot a glare in its direction - if they did not play their cards right, the droid could wind up living on Fondor for quite some time. @Korghon (Josh)

Slowly rising from his seat, Tal’Galan stood over his newfound travel partner and her even smaller follower. He stayed silent as he eyed her up and down, arms folding over his chest. Tilting his head to the side, the man raised a hand and slowly curled it upward, pulling the droid from the ground and into the air, caught in suspension between the two of them. The aura he gave off felt heavy, as if one wrong word would be the cause of him unsheathing his weaponry and taking a life in the blink of an eye, not to mention the lack of remorse or compassion he probably carries. Slowly putting the droid back onto the ground, he stepped to the side and began circling her. “Master Tal will do for now…” he grumbled, his low voice altered by the robotic voice modular on his helmet. Once he’d gone full circle and gotten a fair inspection in, he returned to his original spot. “All things considered, I imagined you’d be just a tad weaker than I feel you are now. As much as I despise weakness, there is something else I dislike more…” Lifting his hand again, a single lightsaber emerged from underneath his robe and propelled itself in the air. The handle was entirely black with shards of silver shimmering in between the ridges, offering little to no variety whatsoever. The lightsaber suddenly crackled to life, a dark red beam coming to life. The saber part of the blade itself however was not simple and smooth. It crackled and popped, losing any sense of elegance the lightsaber had before. As if the crystal inside of the handle were cracked or rough, small ripples ran through the light and created small sparks towards the end, which was mere inches away from ending the small droid. “…is stowaways. Unless they have a very unique purpose, they shall be removed permanently from my ship.” Tal’Galan leaned forward and seemingly stared at his new apprentice from under his helm. @gfluxtheo#7700

Her eyes, which were close to violet in color, now sparkled with cracks of crimson, reflecting the animosity stinging from Tal’Galan’s weapon. The lightsaber’s aggression added sudden and unforeseen weight to the conversation. Gut instinct told her to remain silent, and so, she closed her mouth to keep her lips from betraying her - but when the droid rose into the air, hovering between them, her boot took a thoughtless step toward the robotic companion. G2 beeped, as if pleading to be put down on the ground, its mechanical insides whirred with an increase of electricity - and Jade did nothing. She brought a hand to the edge of her oversized hood and pulled the fabric back. Her face was pale, and so was her hair. Long, nearly white strands were pulled into a ponytail. They fell down her chest, and rested against her black armor. Those calculated fingers peeled back the mask on her face. Jade’s focus shifted to G2, “They are a reliable droid, programmed with navigation for star systems not calibrated on most ships. If it pleases you, Master Tal, I offer this droid to be of service to our mission - in the event we must venture to remote locations, they can provide access to secret and off-limit areas...” A sly wind slipped through the shipyard, quietly tugging the black robes hanging off Jade’s shoulders. The mist at her feet swirled to life, then stilled as the shallow breeze slowed to a stop. Energetically, Jade took this as a sign, and waited to see if Tal’Galan would allow the droid to join them. Only the sound of the snapping lightsaber, and the descent of approaching TIE fighters aiming to dock, filled the space between them. She imagined G2 being dropped at that height, breaking from the gravity of the fall - and though this vision was brief, for a single moment, her heart beat just for the droid. @Korghon (Josh)

The man sneered under his mask, slowly lowering the droid to the ground. He didn't like the idea of bringing aboard the droid, debating its worth over its weight. Ultimately, in his mind, he concluded the two were a joint package and ridding one would rid the other. Not that he would mind though. Tal felt like he worked best when he was by his lonesome. Regardless, he snapped back to reality and addressed the two of them. "Fine. The droid can stay, but I expect it to follow my orders, else I'll find other uses for it." He stated coldly before turning and walking through the interior of the ship and towards the bridge. "Come. We have a mission to take care of..." He walked through the small social area and towards an open door, entering the bridge of the ship. The inside was rather sleek, black and silver metals danced along each monitor and control panel, shimmering with a dark hue. Different colored lights shimmered here and there, dancing along the helm and every other piece of technology. Tal approached one of these panels and began interacting with it, sending information around to other panels and watching as they showed up on their respective screens. As he went from one panel to the next and inserted data, he waited for his newfound companion to get accustomed to the room first before asking questions to her. "How much of the mission are you aware of, and do you know where our first planet is?" He asked, not even bothering to look over at her as he continued typing and tapping away, finally halting once he reached the main helm and finally turned to her. @luxtheo

There was relief in those little beeps coming out of G2 when their squeaky wheels finally hit the ground. They whirred to life, zooming into the ship somewhere in the back to stay out of sight, out of mind. Good plan, little droid. Jade followed Tal’Galan with a pair of black boots leading the way. The shadows inside the ship’s interior glowed with hot reds and yellows as he tapped away at the main console. And while he was doing that, Jade casually ran her finger over one of the buttons and pressed down, closing the exit to the ship behind them. The hinges hissed. The last sliver of her seen from outside was nothing more than a look of menace. She took a seat in the open chair next to her advisor, those black robes sliding off her shoulders. Grabbing at the seat belt to strap herself in, this was going to be a fast ride. Having some knowledge of ships, this one in particular was meant to outrun everyone - and if needed, she could fly it. Perhaps, that’s why they asked her to join Tal’Galan. Their talents combined they would be set up for success. She was still wondering how this was going to turn out. “Coruscant,” said Jade, her eyes lowering to the dashboard in front of her. If they were going to succeed, they needed to get a move on. “I was told there is someone there who is unaware of the force - yet they wield it as if it were second nature. Rumors of this individual are circulating throughout the underground. We are to retrieve them before the Jedi do.” “Our contact is to meet us upon landing with coordinates to this individual. The level of secrecy around this is…” she continued to prepare the ship for take off, bringing up the route to Coruscant, her mind searching for the right word, “...unusual. I am to follow your lead, Master.”

The Sith Master grunted in response, typing into his console. "Good. You've paid attention." He muttered. Pressing a button, Tal'Galan's ship suddenly hummed to life, slowly rising from the dock it was parked at. Sounds of disgruntled workers and metal creaking came from around the hull as they pulled away from all the busy workers and into the open air. "There is a good reason for the secrecy. Think of it like this: Should word get out that a force-sensitive individual was without a side, both Jedi and Sith would charge openly into the fray for said individual. Without the knowledge of the Jedi, we can persuade whoever it may be with little to no resistance." As they began to pull into the atmosphere and the dirty sky grew unclouded and darker with space now growing around them, Tal grabbed the steering mechanism, and began setting his course for Coruscant. "We go in, take this individual, and leave. You'll do exactly as I tell you, should you want to do this without drawing your saber." With one more sideways glance at her, the man pulled on a simple lever in the center of the console and snickered under his helmet. As he pulled down, space seemed to stretch around them, small stars growing into bigger white streaks that didn't seem to stop until darkness of space was sent hurdling behind them. The stars and galaxies danced around them as they entered Hyperspeed, traveling extremely fast towards the main capital planet of the Republic. Once their course was set and everything seemed to be in order, Tal'Galan let go of the console and sat there silently for a moment. His attention forward, he became as still as stone, admiring the shimmering world outside of the ship.

The glow of bright lights illuminated the interior of the ship from strands of passing stars, and once they came to a resting speed, Jade rose from her seat to check on a warning light in the back - but before she left the console, she turned to look in Tal’s direction... “Yes, Master,” she replied, “I will do as you say and we will obtain the individual with little to no resistance.” Yet there was something hanging on those words that caught Jade off guard. Could Tal’Galan feel it as well? There was heaviness in the force, as if her words triggered a momentum within the invisible system connecting them all. It was troubling. A foreshadow of what was to come. Doubt their plan would fail suddenly burned in her mind. She moved her eyes away from the Sith Lord and headed to the back of the ship where it would be less obvious to spot tentative suspicion on her face. Her focus adjusted on a flashing red light on one of the back doors. There was smoke. Not a lot, but some. And sparks. Tiny pricks of electricity danced off the droid they’d brought with them. Somehow, G2 had an oil leak during take-off, and that oil short-circuited the wiring on the ship under one of the panels of the floor. “You couldn’t have waited until we landed in Coruscant?” she hissed. Her hand waved over the Droid and the sparking slowed. For now, the droid would be out of commission until Jade could fix them. G2 tilted back as if looking up at Jade. Their internal whirring purred then went silent as they shut down for the rest of the ride. Jade paused, watching the black liquid seep through the cracks of the ship. It was a bad sign. She returned to her seat with the news of this new development, “We will need to have the ship serviced when we land. There is faulty wiring we must fix if we plan to escape at great speed.” @Korghon (Josh)

A small growl escaped Tal as he leaned back in his chair, pursing his lips underneath his mask. His fingers tapped the edge of his armrest repeatedly, signaling he wasn't exactly the most thrilled about having to spend more credits on his ship. "I thought I just had the thing serviced at that space port.....It appears I'll have to personally oversee it next time, else I remove the head of the one who dares tarnish my ship." He grumbled, almost as still as stone as before she left. He didn't seem to make much of a move when that sudden feeling of weight pressed down upon her or made much motion when she returned. The Sith merely remained still, almost like an unpowered or asleep droid. Could he have been a droid. It wasn't likely...but there's always that chance. Tal soon let out a small sigh and began moving as if reborn into life, adjusting the occasional strap or metal buckle that held his armor together and in place. Once he felt mostly secure, he leaned back in his seat once more and returned to his resting state. He didn't seem like much for conversation or planning. Perhaps he already had it all down in his head? Maybe his plan was simply just to eliminate everyone who got in his way? The Force bent like thick fog around the Dark Master, feeling more forced to heed his will, rather than at his disposal as a weapon. Regardless, for now, he wasn't slicing off anyone's head at the moment.

Coruscant was an energetic clusterfuck. The moment they descended into the atmosphere Jade forced herself to swallow down an influx of intuition pouring directly into her chest. She could feel their target. Somewhere within the bustling city filled with jedis and siths alike was an individual they were sent to retrieve, brainwash, and convert to their way of life. That was the plan. Right? Jade unfastened her seatbelt and moved to the back of the ship making it so Tal’Galan would pay no attention to the droid and the oil leak. The door hissed open with rolling steam pouring out from the ship’s air vents, cooling off the engines which hummed into silence. She pulled her black mask over her mouth to cover her identity. There weren’t many who would recognize her, but the chance was always there. She’d given up a large part of her life to live in solitude. This was her first time partnering with...someone else. Tal’Galan. She couldn’t read him. Like most sith, their emotions were hidden from others, and Jade knew one day this would be an issue for her. There were moments of compassion for things like a broken droid that simmered on the back of her mind during quiet nights, reminding her - she had a heart. One that was misguided, as her commanders informed her. She cast her eyes to the side. She would have rolled them, but long ago Jade learned the hard way not to show disrespect in front of her superiors - there was a scar on her left shoulder blade that would vouch for that lesson.

Her weapon was stashed at her side, ready to face Corsuscant with Tal’Galan. To ensure there was no unforeseen danger waiting for them she exited the ship first and once the coast was clear she nodded to her Master - the wind tugged her long hair and cloak off to one side while her eyes danced with the reflection of passing ships from above. A droid zoomed by her feet and went straight to Tal’Galan. It beeped. Asking what service they needed during their stay at the questionable dock. It was a low key and shady pitstop. The Empire used this area of Coruscant when going on discreet missions such as these… She waited to see if Tal would have the ship serviced here, elsewhere, or if he was ready to scout the individual they were tasked to find. He would lead, and she would follow.
