Her first real college party. Cecilia parked her car down the street from where the party was being held, watching dozens of other students walk together into the townhouse, which was adorned with varying colors of green, red, and white lights. Most of the people she saw walk in had someone else with them; a girlfriend or boyfriend they were holding hands with, or a group of friends that were all laughing and joking together.
Cecilia was alone, at the moment. The only reason she even knew about the party was because someone who lived in her hallway had mentioned it to her. She’d just moved away from home, to a city she didn’t know, all for school.
After what must’ve been ages, she shut her car off and stepped out, pulling her coat tighter around herself as she walked towards the door, a light snowfall just starting. She opened the door to the house, and grinned as the warmth hit her face. She hung her coat up alongside the dozens of others, eyes moving around the already full house. It was a Christmas party, so most people had on some sort of ugly sweater or Santa hat. She’d come with her own ugly sweater, though she already had it in her closet at her dorm. She decided to keep the grey beanie she had on atop her head, knowing she’d still somehow find a way to get cold, even in the warmth of the house.
