Madea sat quietly in a back corner of a little coffee shop that was just minutes down the road from her home, looking down at her phone and absentmindedly scrolling through the web. She enjoyed the quiet chatter of the other patrons and the fact that she was no longer fighting for a ridiculous love that was never true anyways. She curled her fingers around the handle of a teacup in front of her, lifting it to her lips to take a sip of the warm liquid inside. Her eyes lifted for just a moment before she choked on her drink from the very sight of none other better Hera, dressed in casual clothes and her hair pinned up in a bun on the back of her head. “Careful. Wouldn’t want you to die.” She teased, her eyes flashing in playfulness as her head tilted to the side curiously. “What the hell are you doing here?” Madea spat, setting her cup down and using the napkin to wipe whatever tea had splattered onto her face. “We need your help.” “I’m not doing your dirty work anymore, Hera. You ruined my life once, it’s not going to happen again.” The goddess’ eyes narrowed as Madea refused her demand, clenching her jaw in annoyance. “I’ll ask one more time, Madea. We need you.” “You’re a goddes, I think you can handle whatever it is this time.” She said, turning her eyes back down to her phone and continuing to scroll through her socials. .

“Have it your way,” was all that Hera said before a sudden feeling of warmth washed over Madea’s body. A wave of unimaginable affection flooded her chest and the first face she saw was that of a dark haired man that worked in the city for some high tech corporation. “Hera, you slimy-“ “Find him. He’s the key to the world’s survival. He doesn’t know it yet but his powers are unmatched and he is the only one who can stop the danger that’s coming.” The goddess said simply, standing to her feet and sauntering down the isle of the coffee shop without another word. “What the hell do you mean? Hera!” Madea stood too, her hands curling into fists as she watched the manipulative bitch walk off and out of the coffee shop. “Dammit…” she growled, simply watching the bell of the door swing back and forth for a few moments before she would even attempt to look down to her phone. “Who are you?” .. Madea spent the next few days trying to cross paths with the man, desperation wavering her honest feelings that attempted to turn her from her insatiable love for him. She was unsuccessful, no matter how hard she tried. Luckily, she had figured out where he worked by doing a bit of internet diving. She sat outside on a street bench watching the front doors of his office building, waiting rather impatiently. She wanted so badly to meet him, yet she didn’t. She feared what would come of her, or him, or anyone else for that matter.

David was completely unaware of the manipulations that were focused on him taking place. Of the destiny being made that was binding him and an immortal sorceress together. He was also unaware of the demigod made in Roman times who had decided to break as much as possible. He was a production engineer who had learned some programming language and started to work for a high tech company. He came in and out of work. Mingled with his coworkers. And spent a fair bit of time outside doing various activities. For Medea, well, having become internet savvy as the world changed around her had been a necessity in the 21st century. But she'd been able to glean a lot. He was a nerd. That was obvious. He was into some fantasy roleplay stuff. He also seemed to have some interest in Greek mythology. The modern scholars got so much of the old stories wrong. And even those stories got what really happened wrong. At least her story was right. She'd made sure of that. She was in her home when the soft, sweet smell of flowers and armour oil filled her nose. And Aphrodite's soft laugh filled her ears. "Are you really going to let that stop you this time?" Beyond that, he kept a reading list up. And he seemed to have a few women that he hung out with. Everything seemed platonic with them. Though one girl seemed overly friendly with him in a few pictures and videos. But nothing major. He was also completely unaware of anything that was about to change. Autumn was turning into winter, and he pulled his jacket tighter around him as he stepped out of his work. His head glancing up and down the street. That's when he saw her. He tilted his head, feeling their eyes lock together. Then he shook his head, and just carried on walking. HEading down the street towards his own apartment. @xBadrukax

Madea felt like an entire fool as she watched the man exit the building. Her heart immediately soared at the very sight of him, his dark hair and tall figure sending shivers of excitement down her spine. The woman stood up and looked down at her phone as if she hadn’t even noticed that they had locked eyes and began walking, but she had to do something to get his attention. Perhaps it was a bit cheesy, and if anyone were watching her life in a movie they would’ve screamed at their tv with disappointment with her rather unoriginal plan, but it was what made the most sense. She crossed paths with him, and as though she was too invested in her phone she made sure their bodies collided. Madea gasped dramatically as one of her feet slid from under her, and she fell to the ground. All of the contents of her bag and everything in her hands flew across the sidewalk. “Oh my gods…” she mumbled, pushing herself up off the ground slightly and turning her dark eyes to gaze up at him. “Excuse you. Don’t you watch where you’re going?” She asked, the frustration of her feelings unfortunately lacing her words as she spoke to him. Madea didn’t want to be here, well, a part of her didn’t. Another part of her really really did, a very large part of her. Unfortunately this curse was bestowed upon her by the gods and she had to do what she was expected of.
