Oliver nodded in agreement. Abbie was right, he had been far too paranoid and began to see things. However, not really noticing the not so convincing laugh, Oliver looked at her a smiled a little bit, feeling a little more comfortable now that he had been reassured. “Fires make everything better, so I hope you’re right.” Oliver commented, looking back to the area he had saw the beings before being taken back to the fire.
Hearing the occasional snap of a twig or leaves rustling made Oliver giddy. Why were the sounds so frequent? Had there truly been other humans in this area? Had there been a bear? Thoughts such as those filled Oliver as he looked towards the fire pit. “We need to grab a few more sticks. But, I think for now we can make do.” Oliver said in a whisper, not really wanting either of them to go out a grab stuff at this point.
Once Annie mentioned sharing a tent, Oliver immediately nodded and found immense comfort in that. He also realized that Abbie had went to say something, hey stopped her self and changed the word to ‘comfiest’ which made Oliver more paranoid. However, he quickly shook his head, getting on one knee and beginning to align the sticks up in an erect position. After that, he grabbed some dead leaves from the floor, placing them in the fire pit before taking off his bag and placing it on the floor.
Oliver then unzipped and opened his bag, rummaging through it for a moment before finding a lighter. Flicking it active, Oliver put the flame to the leaves, watching the smoke blow opposite before an ember colored flame appeared. Leaning back, Oliver watched as the fire grew, consuming the leaves and the branches with ease. Relieved, Oliver smiled, looking over to Abbie. “Nice job gathering wood.” He said warmly, holding his hand out for a high five while looking around the area.
