He knew Marcus was right, and Ricky wasn’t the type to do that for what it was worth. Silas knew that man had secrets, just like he had his.
“When is the League ever generous?” Silas sighed. Knowing full well what he was going up against. Yet, he didn’t say anything else as they both came to the area.
Stepping into the outer city, it wasn’t as worn down, wasn’t abandoned, like the area Silas had set up base in. Silas continued walking, until getting to a small two story building. The first floor seemed to be a store front, one that hadn’t been opened in a while, and upstairs lead to a metal platform, a door leading inside the second floor, a intercom beside it. Silas spared one more glance at Marcus before heading up the steps, and knocking at the door.
There was silence, as the two waited, Silas tapping his fingers against his sides. After a few minutes, he knocked again, a bit harder. Loud static filled the intercom system as it came to life.
“Whatever it is you want, I don’t have it.” A quiet female voice came through, but there was an edge to the voice as she spoke.
