As Magnolia looked at herself in the mirror, she realized that this was it. All of her life she had been free to do what she wanted and now she was going to be under the control of her future husband. Her mind raced, looking at the silver makeup placed on her face. She'd never actually seen herself in a mirror, only in the rippled dark reflection of the pond in her forest. She missed it there, where everything was quiet and she didn't care whether it was her last day there or not. Her bridesmaid clipped a veil onto her head, her hair had been washed and her mother had tied it up in a tight bun, but it was already loose from her pulling out strings of hair to play with. She looked at her mother, behind her sorrow filled her eyes. She didn't know this man, let alone love him... so how would she willingly walk down the aisle and profess her love. She nodded her head towards her mother, signaling she was ready. She took her mothers arm as they stepped out of the bridal suite and into the hall.
Voices murmured as she walked down the aisle, her veil covering the majority of her face. Her father stood by her side, stern as it always had been. She was scared, she could barely see outside of the mesh material but she still saw the silhouette of a man standing at the alter. Her mind raced 1 million miles at once, what if she ran? What if she changed her identity and just casted the rest of her life away in the darkness. But she couldn't do that, she knew that her kingdoms lives depending on this wedding, and if she didn't do it... she and many others would be dead.
As she reached the alter, she bowed her head to the man standing in front of her, allowing him to flip up her veil. Her eyes were puffy, obviously from crying, they'd touched up her makeup many times in the suite but she couldn't keep it together most of the time. She looked up at the tall man in front of her, ready to seal what her parents had done.
