The lectures for major subjects usually finished by the afternoon, only rarely extending anywhere upto 6:30pm.
Most students staying on campus would engage in routine after-hours practice sessions if not the morning sessions.
The teams that would go on to represent the college were usually selected and routinely trained right from the first year. The Massachusetts University always had a winning streak in the Football tournaments, so they clearly had a reputation for it. Men's U-21 football team for the college was already selected about a year ago and they had played a handful of matches the previous year - having lost against none, they surely had to keep up the streak this year as well.
Aryan had been the Vice-Captain for the previous year and was now handling the captaincy after the former players passed through the U-21 criteria, leaving opportunities open for new team members.
The captaincy sure brought responsibility on him but it never seemed to bother him. It was like he was at his peak, handling the position of Team Captain for the football team - it almost worked like a catalyst to his ego and arrogance, ofcourse not to mention how easy he got around with everything - be it a few low scores, or the girls at college. It was like even his bad reputation was doing a favour for him now.
Hardly seen attending lectures, Aryan atleast managed to run down to the training sessions pretty much before time. Today the boys were having a laugh, dragging themselves to the football field after what seemed like a uninterestingly long theory lecture. Some boys were already changed into training clothes, but Aryan often changed on court rather than making a trip to the changing room.
It wasn't hard to spot him - he always wore that captain's sweatband on his wrist, and his olive brown skin surely stood out as a little exotic among the other guys in the team. He had brown eyes, as deep as the hue of Onyx - but they'd seem auburn in the sunlight.
