The light of the nightly New York city shone bright through the giant glass front besides his desk. A beautiful sight that Valentino admired every night once anew. It was the only view of the city he'd known ever since he has arrived here so many hundreds of years ago. The sun forbid him to see otherwise but Valentino couldn't care less. He'd lost interest in a mortals life a long time ago. Thinking back at the despair he felt back them brought a mischevous glint to his golden eyes. Now death was a part of his life. His undead life which he had accepted and taken as a gift of fate.
A knock on the door brought Valentino back into reality, gathering his thoughts before focusing back on some of his documents. Giving his secretary a short allowance to come in with a call of his mind, he took the papers his assistant offered him. Things were always the same at the court when it came to buisness. Humans were naive, easy to negotiate with as they were much easier to manipulate. Vampire's always had their way in human society, connected in all parts of industries of the entire world.
Valentino's eyes scanned over the papers quickly before a small photo caught his attention. Heath Donnovan was the young man's name as the papers stated, a representative that had arranged a meeting with Valentino. The same buisness as usual.
"He is here Sir. Should we let him in?" The secretary broke the silence after a few moments. "Go ahead." Val did not spare him one glance as he went to put the papers aside for now. After the secretary had left, Valentino rose from his seat, taking a few steps until he stood in front of the giant glass front. "Heath Donnovan..." He mumbled to himself, a small smile forming on his lips as he stood still for a moment, eyes trailing away into the night sky before the vampire turned around to leave.
