Ht:""will you let me help you pick a horse? I know horses. My da bred and trained warhorses." I say with a hint of a smile. "Probably still does, actually." My smile slips away quickly, and I turn back to the road.
The bank is only a few streets ahead. I walk to the gate, where 4 gaurd stand at all times, and nod to them. They stop me, or, more accurately, my horse.
"No horses on the grounds." I'm informed. I inquire about a place to stall her temporarily, and I'm told there is no stable for several blocks. Irritated, I narrow my eyes at the gaurd.
"Your job is to gaurd, right?" I say, "if my horse stays here, don't let anyone touch her. "
The gaurd I am addressing looks a bit shocked, but one on the other side speaks up.
"If the horse stays here nobody will touch her, so long as there's gaurds on the bank. That I can guarantee."
I cast a dirty look at that gaurd as well, then stalk over to the side off the gate and back her up until she stands almost leaning against the wall. I feed her a sugar cube, stroking her velvety nose, then give her a command, something between a sound and a word. She blows, tossing her head and stomping her hoof, and i repeat the command. Her ears go back and she knickers softly, and I walk away, through the gate with you.
"Can't believe they won't let me bring me horse in here, look at this lawn! She'd love it! I grumble as we walk along the path over the meticulously manicured, lush, green lawns.
The bank is a large, imposing marble building with narrow windows all filled with iron bars. The doors have large iron gates inside and out. The entryway is an extravagant display of marble craftsmanship. We go to one of many empty booths and I inform the teller I wish to speak to Mikhaela.
The teller eyes us both doubtfully and leans on the counter. "Madam Mikhaela is a very busy woman. I'm sure I can handle your transaction."
"I'm sure you can not, and I will speak to Mikhaela now, or you will be explaining why you turned away her 8:15 appointment." I say smugly. The teller steps back, then turns and passes through a door in the back. I glance at the clock, hoping she is still in the building. It's nearly ten."
