It was a rather chilly October night, Beckham had recently gotten off a 12 hour shift at the hospital. A small sigh escaped his lips, he had been exhausted, helping people mentally was draining in itself after all. The walk to his home wasn’t a far one from the hospital, about 20 minutes, and so Beckham would much rather get the exercise than take a car, as he didn’t think the extra carbon emissions were worth it.
As he walked his way home, he quietly placed a pair of headphones on his head, plugging it in to his Sony Walkman that was stored in his pocket. He then pressed play, and Queens “Another one Bites the Dust”begins to play. As he walks, he comes up to an intersection, and turned left into a local park.
Beckham hummed quietly to the tune, bobbing his head up and down a little as he looked around, admiring the beauty of the environment around him. He soon came across a small pond, one that he always takes the time to stop and admire. The environment and ambiance of the area was calming and peaceful to him, and it always helped him unwind after a long day. He looked across the water, admiring all the plant life that had been poking out of the water and the surrounding area, as well as any wildlife that was around or inhabiting the area.
As he admired the pond, Beckham couldn’t help but get an odd feeling of being watched. However, upon looking up and scanning the area, he hadn’t seen anyone, and so he went back to what he had been doing originally, this time taking a seat. It was then he realized, across the way, a few inches away from a tree, stood a woman. Beckham couldn’t make out her features however, as to him she appeared as a shadow in the night. A gentle breeze blew by, causing his wavy brown hair to shift a little bit, a look of confusion, and a bit of fear coming to his face.
