ROLEPLAY HQ - hordes

The darkness of the clouds hung overhead as the sun fell over the horizon. The heat had only risen so the reprieve of night would be ample for rest. Jackson Willhorn moved through the small partially collapsed house he had been using for cover and moved ever closer to the county border. It was his only chance to move at night and making it to the safe haven of Washington state would finally be enough to protect himself. As the night begin Jackson slings his rifle over his should and slings his pack over the other. His begins walking on foot TW: This RP contains violent descriptions, blood, and can contain strong language.

With everything changing and the world coming to the end that many people thought that was never going to be it was strange to think of the world ever being normal. Military and Army just falling to pieces as nothing could be done about everything, so it was all up to the people to make themselves safe, and finding place to build in order to do so. Syriene had found a high point on a rooftop to watch the ground below and much sure that she could find anything that she could help herself survive if not just something to eat. She couldn't really remember the last time that she ate or even slept for that matter. Slowly he moved to the edge looking down, her one eye narrowed as she saw something in the distance. She just stared and watched before jumping down from the rooftop and found her way to the ground and ran in the direction that she was the thing in the distance. Through the old alleyways and passing old buildings with her dark clothing and at to hide her face, so some she just looked like clothing blowing in the wind, if there was any. She made her way more and more to the area before looking around a corner to the main street that she saw the thing. But now being closer she could tell better that it was another human and this one, was alive, in the most humanly way possible. Syriene eyed the person but it was the thing that was creeping up behind it that was what got her attention. So quickly she looked around and with speed found a way to the rooftop of the building that she was hiding behind and waited.

Inches and inches they were getting closer before she leapt from the rooftop and in mid air she unsheathed her katana and cut the creature in two on her way down. It was never an easy thing to just let anything get away, even if it was someone that looked human. So when she fully stood the tip of her katana pointed to the human "Be Human or Virus?" She asked staring the other down with still one narrowed eye as the other could be seen that it was covered by a black cloth. @Ainz Ooal Gown

Considering this was his second time getting jumped out of nowhere this week he just sighed instead of being suprised. Of course normally they came in with a lot less pizzaz but, it didn't matter one way or the other to him. The filter on his mask made his voice sound low and gravely which most of the time made people at least back up and considering the fact that he had a blade pointed at him that was the first thing he wanted. "Human, now get that thing outta my face before I feed you into walker bait."

Syriene's eye never looked away as the other turned around to face her. With everything that she saw and then heard. this person was male but until he answered she now knew was human. But again the words were just so strange, did he not know that she was not going to scare so easy and nor was she even let the male get close enough to even do anything to her like that. It was almost 5 minutes before Syriene slowly started to lower her katana, but she was not going to put it away just yet as for ONE didn't know if the other was letting her the truth and TWO she didn't know if more were going to be waiting just around the corner. When Syriene felt the cost was fully clear she sheathed her katana once more on her hip before turning and walking in an another direction "Next time pay attention to your 6 or it will be eaten alive." She said kicking the walker that she had killed to show that she helped for the first and only time. Syriene continued to walk away just thinking about now where she was going to get supplies, hearing her stomach rummble with hunger.

All things considered she was a capable fighter so at the least having someone who could get the drop on him would be a valuable ally. Hearing her stomach growl was a perfect opportunity to invite her along. "Considering that you sound like your about to keel from hunger and look like you are running low on equipment how about you come with me instead. I have some food with me and am headed up to a supposed safe haven in Washington. We could work together for the time being."

Just as Syriene was going to make a turn to move away from the male more she heard the words again. Slowly she looked over to him and then around before looking right back at the male. "I have my Katana that is all the equipment I need, but rations I was on a run for before I had to save your ass." She said crossing her arms over her chest. "Just for the record I am not some weak human that needs a male's protection." She said before turning and walking pass the male going in the direction that he was going but stopped for a moment and looked back at the male "I saved your ass, the least you can do is get me dinner." She said before turning and started to walk again but she still kept her eye and ears open to make sure they were not being followed. @Ainz Ooal Gown

Well she was arrogant and even though she didn't really save him at least giving her something to eat would stop the harassment. Walking in front of her Jackson points out a large hotel he had been in and out of several times this week "Room 305 in that hotel is secure from threats I barbed it up and blocked off the room save for an access trunk through the elevator shaft directly onto the third floor. We could eat and plan there if you do want to come with me. Or you can eat and leave. Don't matter to me either way."

As the male was explaining on where to go, Syriene just stared at the hotel. She never really thought that high building like that was a good idea as there were places to run, yes, but on the other hand that type of place was easy to get trapped in, if you were not careful. But she just shook her head and followed after the male as she listened to everything that the male said but it was still hard for her to really know how to get where she needed to go. When the male asked about working together, there was some thought to that. Yes it would be a good idea but on the other hand this male could give her nothing but trouble. It was hard to really think straight with her stomach rumbling every moment to make sure thing about something else. @Ainz Ooal Gown

Walking up the side of the hotel a thick metal chain bared the door forming an X. After taking a key from his pocket and removing the chain he steps through and moves towards a small crawl space with a red ladder going all the way to the top. "You start climbing there will be a sign for the third floor. I will follow as soon as I have the chain back in place. Just look for Room 305 if you don't want to wait."

As they got closer to the hotel Syriene couldn't help but bring her hand to the hilt of her katana and held it tight just in case anything were to happen. She watched the male unchain the door and told her where she was suppose to go. Syriene only gave the male a nod as she walked up the stairs and went to the room 305. Slowly she reached out a hand and grabbed the knob opening it and walked inside. She couldn't help herself but to walk around checking in every room and behind every door just to make sure that the room was clear. She even went to the window looking out it at the area around them putting in more of a check that the area for now was all in the clear. Slowly she went to the chair that was by the window and sat down, staring out the window but did look to the door here and there watching for the male, but on the other hand to make sure that nothing else was going to come into the room. @Ainz Ooal Gown

Heading up the ladder he reaches the room and knocks establishing that it is him at the door not a random stranger or worse a rusted. When he enters he takes off his rusted gas mask for the first time revealing a large beard that hasn't been trimmed in some time and his voice goes from rough to smooth in an instant. "Glad to see you found the place. Also glad to see I found someone with common sense for once instead of the idiots I normally come across. My name is Jackson. You are?"

With the knock Syriene did jump and held the hilt of her katana but as the male walked in she relaxed looking out the window again. It was when the male's voice sounded different that she looked at him again as he was taking things off. With how relaxed the male was with her, she thought it was best to do the same. Slowly she let her katana hang at her side as her hands went up to take off the large hat that she wore and then pulled down the cloth mask that she had across her nose and mouth. Her one electric blue eye looked at the male as the cloth over her other eye was wrapped tightly over it. "Well Jackson I am Syriene. You going to show what you have to eat or what? She said a bit more rude as she put everything down on the bed closest to her and stared at the male a bit more, just watching his every move. @Ainz Ooal Gown

Although she was rude best to assume she was just too hungry to be polite or this was going to be a rather long day for Jackson. Moving over to the storage closet and putting a code into a large electronic foot locker on the ground it pops open to reveal a storage of canned foods and even a couple of slabs of cooled meat and drinks. A rarity that was often taken for granted now a days. Taking a portable stove from the right of the locker he lights it on a tarp before looking up. "This could take a minute, ya got any preferences?"

Syriene was staring out the window more and more before she looked over when she heard the words of the other. She looked to the things that he had out before looking back out the window "Food is Food." She said before flinching a bit as she saw something move but it turned to be just a bird. With the flinch she had her sword just tighter against herself as she just didn't know what else would happen around them.

After taking a minute to stoke the fire and heat up the food Jackson slid a clean tarp with a fork and knife with a slab of steak and a can of peaches with a canteen of water. The same was in front of him. Not exactly a king size meal but, more than enough to keep going for the day. "Alright now that you have food, what are you doing all the way out here. I haven't seen a single person in this city and I have been living her for almost a month to get ready for my trip to Washington. I feel like I at least deserve an explanation."

With the movement next to her, Syriene jumped a bit before looking at the food. She could feel her stomach growl more but she was patient and waited for the other to start eating before she started. It was not very nice the way that she ate but it was almost a eat since she had 'real' food. She was in mid bit of the other half of her steak before she heard the question from the other. With thought she finished what she had in her mouth before swallowing. "Why does it matter? I am here, I thank you for the food so why not travel together? Don't think I will be saving your ass every second that you can't handle yourself. I will leave you behind." She stated before going back to eating and finished everything in 10 mins flat.

Sighing heavily Jackson puts down his fork and knife and slips the rest canned food into his backpack. Adjusting the straps of his Kevlar vest that he had found only weeks ago to sit tightly around his chest he stands up. Considering that she refused to tell him anything plus the fact that she hadn't eaten in a while showed she didn't have much to work with. "Do you have any type of supplies or am I going to be the only one bringing anything to the party cause I can protect myself just fine. What reason should I bring you along for?"

The least that Syriene did was stand up taking her dirty items to the desk like thing that she only thought would be a place to clean the dishes that they used. "I got my sword, to protect me, so that is what I got." She said moving back to the place that she claimed hers before sighing. She didn't care to much of the other as long as they really just stayed out of her way. If anything she could just leave and let it be that, but there was something about this male that she was a bit interested with. "Bring me or don't I can find a place to go." She said starting to put her cloth mask back on and her hat just getting ready to leave if that is what the male wanted from her.

Standing up with a sigh he throws on his backpack and slings his rifle back over his shoulder. "Fine, I am can bring you with me. I am headed to Washington for a potential safe haven if you are willing to come along. Since it's a long trip if you have anything you care about we need to grab it now. Today was the day I was leaving."

With the males words on a safe haven, she had hear of it too but only thought that it was something that people said to ambush them or something of that nature. Syriene just took a nod and walked pass the male to the door "I got everything I need with me, I have -- nothing else." She said with a pause before leaving, for the first time showing a bit of real emotion then her harsh way that she had been showing toward the male. When Syriene got back outside and was waiting for the male, she looked up at the sky and under her breath she mumbles -sorry-, before looking to the ground and then around just keeping her head on a turn to make sure that nothing attacked them, otr her while she was waiting for the male.

Moving outside he locked the door behind him with a laugh knowing that he would either die or make it to safety. Old habits die hard he supposed. Making it to the side entrance he looks around before placing his hand on his sidearm. A way to deter humans who would take a chance for scrapes. “We stick to the main streets. Even if we have a better chance to attract attention we have a better fighting chance to make it out of any scuffle.” “I tend to stop at night only and we will only eat 1 time a day until we find animals to eat. Last is we don’t attack first ever. If you are cool with that follow me so we can get on the move.”

THe movement behind her made Syriene jump and her hand grabbed her katana tightly. But when she saw it was just the male she gave him a bit of a nod "My term is until I see the white of their eyes." She said taking back from history about a war that was as if like this in a way. She walked with the male and just growled a bit "I eat when I find food and I go when I can. But if you wish to be a weakling then I guess I can save your ass more." Syriene said still walking with the male looking around not caring once more if she made the only made or not.

Welp not all survivors understood the need for rationing or for safety but, having one more to watch his back would still be helpful. He continued to walk foward somewhat swiftly so that he could move a pace reasonable enough to reach a campsite by nightfall. "At the very least we have to move fast, we have hundreds of miles to cover so we outta be quick whenever we can."

Syriene had already started to walk before the other got up to her. She just shook her head and sighed "Yeah fast." She said back moving a bit faster to keep up with the male's pace and two to get her own pace high so they could cover all the ground that they would neever to get anywhere.

After about 10 miles there was a block in the road. A large hoard of rusted stood between the travelers and a freeway that ran for many miles.

“Your call you want to try to take this on and run past or avoid the fight and see if we can get on the highway another way?”
