If the cover of the box hadn't lied, each floor of the island was meant to host several safe zones, each unique to themselves and including different eateries, apartments, and shops for those who had made it to that floor. Within these safe zones, your health would be restored and couldn't be brought down. This meant that while in the safe zone, you were entirely safe from death. That was why so many had permanently locked down on places to live within the first floor safe zone, too afraid of the threat of leaving to truly adventure out.
It was only those who had true guts who had ventured out of the safe zone to build their levels.
That, or they were dumb.
There were quite a few who were dumb, though many of those had already died. After all, nearly 30 players had died in game and out of game so far, their usernames listed as offline in the compendium that all players had access to prior to friending someone. Only those who were offline were assumed to be dead, after all, everyone else remained stuck online whether they liked it or not.
