Adrias had been walking for days, days on end. He wasn’t sure how far he would go. But he was told to locate a certain land, a land of the elves. From what he’s heard they were disconnected from the rest of the world. Kind of like how his home was, only…….they had secrets. So what was the secret they were holding? Why did the spirits tell him to come here? He had been on the road for some time, ever since he was 19 he first discovered the outside world and was sent on his first quest, and what an adventure it was. But over the years he began to learn more and more on consequences of the world, there was no one evil, there was evil all around, he thought orcs were evil. He was wrong, he thought wraiths were evil, he was wrong, he thought goblins were evil and he was wrong. The world was full of people who had a choice. And over his years, a lot of them chose to try and kill him, orc or not. Now he comes across this mysterious land. Will they help him? Will he help them? Or are they gonna try to kill him like all the others did in the past? @AionsTempest

Cîreth’s birth moon had just passed and with it, celebration throughout Lórien. Though an immortal species, it was easy for them to celebrate certain ages as humans did. Having turned of age, her father was much more lenient about her time spent outside of Caras Galadhon. Beyond thrilled, the newly of age elf ran and prepped her horse. Though the woods were her home and magic oft protected them from harm, there was a limit to that magic. With her, a beautiful silver bow was at her horse’s side and a quiver of arrows across her back. A sheathed dagger also rested at her side. Should any close weapons not serve her well, she knew magic well. Cîreth swung herself into the saddle and snapped the reins. The crisp air felt incredible and she hadn’t felt more free. Eventually the woods became the color of autumn and she knew she was no longer protected by Galadriel’s magic. She slowed her horse’s pace to a walk through the familiar woods, but kept alert for any sign of orcs or trolls or a lost human. Not that that was the most uncommon occurrence either. All creature were so noisy in the forest spare the elves who inhabited the magical location. @Who is Who?

Adrias kept on walking through the woods, noticing the autumn leaves changing as sort of a magic probably. Which means he’s getting close. Though he’d have to find a reason to bargain with these folks. They weren’t exactly the friendliest after everything that’s been going on. Guess he wouldn’t be either after hearing how Morgoth’s successor was starting up a lot of shit everywhere. But as far as he knew, the whereabouts of the guy are now minimal to nothing. As far as he knew, the guy was already dead. As he kept on walking he then noticed right infront of him was a lady on a horse, he didn’t think much of it though for some reason she looked like she was carrying a sort of….magical presence. He wasn’t close enough to get a good enough look exactly but he had a hunch he was on the right trail.

She could hear the tread of heavier steps crunching leaves beneath their feet. Cîreth wheeled her horse around disdainfully, soothing the creature. The leaves though golden, did not fall from the trees. She saw the human walking around. Cîreth slid off horseback, and grabbed her bow, briskly walking towards the male. “Such a loud creature,” she hissed as she approached him. “And blind to what has followed him.” @Who is Who?

His ears perked up as she was talking. A loud creature huh? I mean he could probably see why she thinks that, he’s physically bigger than her, plus he’s kinda been…..a little out of it. “Lady when you work my kinda job noise is the least of your proble- did you just say I was being followed?” Seriously? Again? Ugh 4th time this MONTH. What does he have an oder on him? Or maybe he forgot somebody he pissed off or…….. “do they got 8 legs?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
The elf went over to a tree and peered into the woods. "You are worse than even the youngest of my kind," She remarked, glancing at him. The female ignored his questions at first concentrating on the sound of gentle rustling in leaves. She tipped her head to the side. "Whatever it is, it certainly doesn't only have four legs." She knocked an arrow soundlessly, drawing back on the bow string, and waited patiently for any sign of the creature. She could hear it off in the distance, but it didn't seem close enough to be an immediate threat. She lowered her bow with a sniff and side-eyed him. "You don't belong here. Why have you come to the Golden Woods?" She asked him using another common name for her home. @Who is Who?
Avatar
Though when she said it doesn’t have 4 legs he pulled out his knife and jumped and climbed into a tree branch swiftly as he closely listened in on the footsteps. Though…..it was now walking away, he signed and dropped to the ground. The golden woods, so he WAS in the right place, huh that’s good to know. “Well, I’m here to plant one of these suckers” he said pulling out a pouch and showed her a set of what looked like blue glowing seeds. @AionsTempest
Avatar
Cîreth watched him scale a tree and looked at him suspiciously when he showed her the seeds. “What is so special about them that you could not have done them outside of here?” She asked not about to risk having a human mess with the balance of Lothlórien. “Humans are not welcome here without a good reason,” she said jaggedly. “And so far you haven’t given me much of one.” (edited)
Avatar
“Didn’t give one yet” he replied. Oh jeez she’s one of THOSE kinda groups. Though then again the world’s a shit show right now so he can’t blame her, with the amount of warfare and what not. “They’re called the seeds of Yggdrasil. I was told to plant each one in areas that need it, and your forest was one of em” he shrugged. @AionsTempest
Avatar
The elf scoffed. “And why should I trust you word at face value?” She challenged. “Humans have lied time and time again to us.” There was something about the seeds though. Cîreth couldn’t explain it, but she they did belong here. @Who is Who?
Avatar
“I mean I gotta plant the seed in your guys’ forest one way or another, the elder spirits from my forest said it’s needed” he shrugged. So she dealt with imperial or industrial humans it sounds like. Those guys always liked to make a fuss about things. @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Spirits of your forests, hm?” The elf narrowed her eyes and lowered her bow. “Just who are you and where are you from?” She demanded, taking a step toward him. “Did you spirits tell you what would happen once the seeds are planted?” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“I’m Adrias Tennant and I came from that way” he said pointing to the road behind him. “So far they told me it was to provide extra fuel to all the corners of middle earth. And a few other lands for contingency” he said putting pouch back on his belt @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Then they are unaware of the power Nenya grants,” Cîreth said icily. “We have no need for the help of an outsider.” She turned and went back to her steed. Easily getting back into her saddle with her kinds unusual height. “Leave. Cross the path of the Galadhrim again and we will not be lenient.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Listen I get that you guys are practically an ocean of magic. But I’m getting in there one way or another. Besides if Sauron comes back then it’s not gonna be a quick fight, even worse if it’s Morgoth” He said walking over to her @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Do not speak their names! Names have power, more than you could understand,” the elf maiden spat vehemently. “It may not be a quick fight, but it’s one we’d win regardless,” Cîreth replied. “Lady Galadriel’s magic will not be easily broken even by an evil as great as theirs. Only if they themselves were present would there be a risk.” She gathered the reigns in her hands. “Even if you dared to continue your travel, you would not progress without a guide. The woods will prevent you from continuing any further.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“I grew up in the woods. I’ll have some idea, but if you feel like it’s that bad of an idea then why don’t you ask Galadriel herself? I saw the way you looked at the seeds, it’ll help you guys. Besides wouldn’t she want to have a way to connect and communicate with other forest spirits? The world is always a mess, so it’d be best if the ones who looked out for the land always stuck together” @AionsTempest
Avatar
Irritated, the elf jumped from her horse’s back. “If you insist on coming with me, prove your skill, but be warned even then, you’ll still be treated as an outsider.” Cîreth stood across from her with her blade drawn. She spoke something and her horse cantered back, tossing its head. @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Not the first time I got that kinda service” he said in response to her saying he’ll be an outsider. “Wait but……are we gonna fight or did you want me to run after the horse?” He asked confused @AionsTempest
Avatar
She twirled the blade in her her hand. “Fight me. I simply asked my horse to take a few steps back to be cautious. Tell me more about yourself while we’re at it, Adrias.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“What’s there to tell?” He asked drawing twin curved elven short blades. “I’m a homosapien” he then dashed towards her as he swung his first blade at her to test what kind of reflexes and form of martial arts she does @AionsTempest
Avatar
She narrowed her eyes recognizing the style of blades. “There’s a lot to share before I’m willing to begin trusting you,” Cîreth replied. She quickly stepped back to avoid his attack and drew a longer more slim blade. She held a dagger and a think long sword to allow her to keep her enemy at a distance and counter any close attacks if he got close enough. “Where are you from? How did you get those?” She asked, nodding at the blades in his hands. @Who is Who?
Avatar
He backed up with his blades held out front. “Made em myself, my uncle was a blacksmith. The spirits showed us to an elven city ruin inside the forest back home. As for my location, forest of Teresheigh” he remarked as he stayed his footwork light and bouncing @AionsTempest
Avatar
She gave a curt nod. “Many of cities of my kind once stood tall,” she acknowledged. “Before the times of evil…” Cîreth quickly stepped forward engaging with the long sword, thrusting it forward and quickly slashing at his midsection with the dagger. @Who is Who?

As she thrust it forward. He dodged the longsword only to just nearly deflect the dagger, then followed with attempting a roundhouse kick to the face. “Not every elven was pure good. THAT one screwed the spirits over. And tore down the trees to build their cities. You’re just as bad as my kind” @AionsTempest
Avatar
The heel gently grazed her shoulder, but it wasn’t enough force to unbalance her. “I am aware of the history of my folk regardless of where they live,” Cîreth replied. “We have not invaded human cities or directly contacted them in years. I will admit not all of my kind wish the best for yours, but even they are not foolish enough to seek war.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“But it always found them” he dashed behind her and threw a knife and was aiming it towards the back of her neck. “I don’t have beef with your kind. But some of the spirits at home got em. But I’ve been around the ball park for some time, I know how grey the world can get. Seen it myself a few times” @AionsTempest
Avatar
She quickly turned and deflected the knife. “So you act as a bridge for the spirits as they’d rather not speak to us?” Cîreth interrogated. “The world is a mess since war broke out. Some of my kind miss the way it was before the Years of the Sun. Surely you do not believe you can fix the strife between your forest spirits and my kin.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“It’s not that they send me to talk instead of them, it’s that you’re too far for them to reach” he threw a smoke bomb and distanced himself from her. “You say the sun like it’s a good thing, but it’s not always your friend if you’re in another climate. It doesn’t matter what I believe, I’m just doing what I’m told. I spent 6 months trying to find your place, just so I can put a seed there. That’s it, that’s all I’m here for” @AionsTempest
Avatar
She took a step back as the smoke suddenly blinded her. Cîreth repositioned the weapons in her hands and took a defensive stance. “The sun is important to my kind and we remember the days they first saw it,” she explained. “Why would you be willing to take such a long adventure just for a simple task. One I’m Galadriel could’ve handled if it were so severe.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“From what I hear Galadriel’s busy managing an entire magic network to make sure the flow is staying positive. That’s like managing 7 kingdoms at the same time. She’s a powerhouse but even she has her limits. My spirits haven’t seen her in a long time. I never met her. But this is why I’m bringing the seed, to reconnect her and your group to mine” @AionsTempest
Avatar
She gave a nod. “It’s certainly taken a toll, but she is one of the strongest of our kind,” Cîreth replied. “Do not doubt her.” She threw the small dagger blindly through the smoke. With her now empty hand, she spins something in elvish a ring of blue fire dispersed from her open palm. @Who is Who?
Avatar
Adrias deflected the dagger and jumped up into the tree branch “Did you NOT just hear the part where I brought up the magic network? I’m not doubting her, she can put up a fight against sauron better than I can but even a god killer like Galadriel needs help beating the guy at full power” He quickdrew two arrows as they flew towards the woman’s face. @AionsTempest
Avatar
She heard the bow string loosen and she spun down onto a knee. Shielding herself with her free hand. The arrows shattered her quick barrier, but kept her safe. Cîreth gave a hiss of disdain hearing Sauron’s name spoken so blatantly. “Watch your tongue.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Then use your ears” he said dropping down from the tree branch “You know I’m right. With everything that’s been going on, we gotta have each other’s backs. It’s how folks who lived here before us survived and beat Morgoth, it’s how we’re gonna beat his apprentice. If he ever shows up again” @AionsTempest
Avatar
She visibly bristled at his words and hurled her slim longsword at him as he landed. “It is not my decision what happens. My father makes the final call.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Wait….seriously?” He asked standing up confused “You’re saying Galadriel doesn’t call the shots? I thought she was your guys’ queen or….high priestess isn’t she?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Lady Galadriel is well respected and very knowledgeable. We rely on her a lot, but it usually leans towards the male elves when dealing with affairs,” she said curtly. “We offer our insight, but you’d solemn find female elves in the larger gatherings of my kin.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
So it’s the males who gave the orders in her town. A patriarchy then, never took the forest elven for going that route. Although he’s seen it in nature a lot more. “Then take me to your dad. If the seed caught your attention then it’ll at least catch his” @AionsTempest
Avatar
The elf looked at him with disdain and narrowed eyes, but proceeded to whistle and her white mare returned to her side. "If you traveled on foot we will not reach for a while." She went around and grabbed her dagger and sword sheathing both weapons before going back to her mare and jumping into the saddle. Cîreth looked toward the sun which was overhead. "We will have to spend a night in the woods. The travel is too far by foot at this hour." @Who is Who?
Avatar
“That don’t sound too bad. Spent most the trip on the road” he said sheathing his weapons and walking to follow her horse. “So where’d they usually send you?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
“I’m honestly able to go where I want. At least now I am,” she replied with a shrug. “My father was very concerned for me until I became of age. Though I cannot fault him.” Cîreth led the way through the forest for them from her horse. “How far have you traveled in the last few days?” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“That right? So you’re just now able to travel the world?” He asked. He could get where her father was coming from, he himself was more naive than her though when he stepped out into the world outside the forest for the first time. “We’ll, a few days ago I was walking through a valley, then reached a few mountain spots, then this morning I reached the first neck of these woods” @AionsTempest
Avatar
Cîreth nodded. "Though he did let me familiarize myself with our territory, I never was allowed to go beyond the veil of Lady Galadriel's magic. Or without another to protect me," She gave a huff, shaking her head, but it was obvious she was more amused by her father's nature. "You travel fast then," she said surprised. "Few make it to the base of the Misty Mountains and the Golden Woods in such little time." Cîreth looked around. "We will be able to make it back within the borders of magic and camp safely without fear of an ambush." @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Wait the misty mountains” he thought about it as he rubbed his chin. He didn’t exactly keep a schedule in his backpack. So it was hard to tell time every now and then. “We’ll I mean……now that you mention the misty mountains…..to be honest I spent most of my time traveling inside the mountain so I didn’t get a sense of day or night” He the heard her say the eta of the time “You guys been ambushed before?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
Cîreth nodded. “Yes, the Galadhrim are hidden in the forest leading to them. Of course most people aren’t traveling through the mountain. We more tend to be a stop for some travelers as they travel up the path,” Cîreth explained. “We have only been ambushed outside of our own borders,” she replied to him. “Never within the magic. It’s too potent for orcs and trolls reach anywhere.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
@AionsTempest “I mean hey, when you see a short cut you gotta take a shortcut am I right?” As they walked through the forest he nodded to her remark. “I met a group of orcs one time, coarse it was more two groups. And they were tryin to kill each other. It was like knights vs samurai for a week straight”
Avatar
Cîreth gave a short chuckle conceding. “I suppose for a human it would seem more ideal, especially traveling on their own.” She listened to him talk about the orcs with her head to the side curiously. “They were more concerned with fighting each other, than you? Strange.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“I mean when I was there, there were two sides. Actually two kinda orcs ya know? Ones that had gray skin and these piranha lookin guys. No hair and looked greasy as fuck. Then there were these other guys who were green skin and hair. Like a lotta hair. And had these upside down sabretooth tiger teeth. And they sounded like they were fighting over….I wanna say land? Either land or just a jar of dirt I forget which” @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Ah.” She gently guided her horse across the gnarled roots. “Orcs are rather war born creatures, so to speak. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise they fight over something as important as land or as mundane as a jar of dirt. War born creatures only think about fights and disregard the impact it will have on the lands..” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“If that we’re the case-“ he climbed over a few roots “-then my people woulda been nothin but farmers” He then found a few leaves and grabbed them to place into another pouch “so how long did your folks live out here?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Sometimes the orc fights do not affect the land, but usually the battles ruin all the fields of green,” Cîreth replied. She was going to reply to his next question, but rapid hoofs approaching silenced her. Her sharp gaze glanced ahead. “Do not draw your weapons,” she ordered him. A male elf rode at the head of a pack that approached them. “Lady Cîreth.” Cîreth gave a curt nod in return. “Tell my father, I will be home before midday tomorrow, but no sooner.” “Human.” The other male said disdainfully. “I’m sure he’d be interested to hear about this. Cîreth snapped something back at him in Sindarin. The other male elf visibly stiffened at her words and bowed before turning and leaving with the others. @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Sometimes even stain the soul with red or dark blue blood” Adrias pointed out. He then heard the rapid hoods approach, a friend, enemy? Or is it another spirit? Only to the. Noticed an even male at the head of a pack. Hot damn this kinda reminded him of home in a sense. These guys seemed like the ranger order from back home. Minus the horses, they didn’t have horses back home, cattle yes but not horses. “What about wizards you guys get a lot of those?” He asked curious. As she silenced them, she somehow silenced him too. Adrias followed behind her, and as they walked by he nodded to the elven pack. As if he understood where they were coming from, and why they do what they did. @AionsTempest
Avatar
Cîreth gave a nod. "That is also true..." She heard his question, but hadn't answered it as she spoke with her kin. After the male elf who led the group left, she answered Adrias. "I've only met a couple, but that is simply due to how protected I was." She shook her head. "I do however know there are quite a few. They tend to have quite long lifespans compared to humans, but even that is nothing compared to the immortal life of an elf." @Who is Who?
Avatar
@AionsTempest "So I've heard. I saw this one elf get granted a promotion of soemthin, and I saw him fly up into the stars for a construction project I think he said?" Adrias said as he tried to think back to that one time he met a couple of those guys. "It was kind of like a blessing, the gods or stars of the elves he said had deeemed him worthy and picked for a certain task. And after that I saw him turn into a ball of light and fly up into the night sky"
Avatar
She narrowed her eyes at his words. "I know not of who you speak," she admitted, shaking her head. Pulling on the reigns, she brought the small group to a stop and shouted out in Sindarin. Cîreth slid out of the saddle. "We stop here for tonight. Before midday tomorrow we will be with my father." She walked over to him. "I've no doubt you would see Lady Galadriel when we meet with my father tomorrow. She attends almost every meeting, and she may never speak during them, she will speak after and offer her insight and valued advice." @Who is Who?
Avatar
Adrias climbed up to a branch, he tested it's strength before nodding and checking the length and width. Then took out a sleeping bag and began to tie it around the branch with some rope. "So she listens first to com up with questions after?" That was kind of a good move, the elders of the ranger force he grew up in had similar methods. They'd sit and listen first and sometimes ask questions later on the topics that were told. "She sounds like a wise lady" @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Her wisdom and adeptness at magic have kept our people safe for many years. It is only natural at this point we trust her for most issues,” Cîreth replied. “Sometimes it’s better to stay silent and develop ideas than instantly speak for we know not what may be said in the future.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
He began to gather some sticks and loose branches. “Sounds like she knows a lot. Probably been in the game for some time, also do campfires hurt the land or can we light one?” @AionsTempest
Avatar
As a reply, Cîreth gathered a small branch and made a small teepee of wood. A spark burst in her hand and she gently lit the top of the sticks. Though the fire was small, the magic was powerful and it illuminated the forest a great radius. “We can use your branches as extra fuel if need be.” @Who is Who?
Avatar
He nodded and laid the branches down next to the fire. “Where we’re you planning on goin? Now that your dad’s letting you travel” @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Truthfully, I haven’t thought much about leaving our territory,” Cîreth replied. “Maybe I’d visit my kin in Rivendell, but I’m not too sure. Still, I am willing to weigh my options, as humans phrase it. Make a decision later…” @Who is Who?
Avatar
“Rivendell, where’s that?” The phrase make a decision later, that was a complicated one. At least in his experience. Some of the time making a decision wasn’t as great of an idea as most others had thought if they were in the head of battle. @AionsTempest
Avatar
“Rivendell is a western valley of the Misty Mountains,” she explained, pointing in the general direction. “Imladris, as we call it in Sindarin.” One of the escorts walked over and she stood to greet the other. They exchanged quick words in Sindarin and she sat back down with a sigh. “Some of the orcs that are around have been edging near the border.” @Who is Who?
