Soren slowly walked up the tall stairs of the palace familiarising himself slowly whilst contemplating the long day he experienced. Whilst it was very difficult and harsh it seems to be worth it in the end. Never in his life now and even the past would he believe he would have the position he has today. A smirk began to form on his face yet he managed to control his facial muscle to restrain the movement.
He realises the entire palace had their eyes on him, whether it was royalty, knights or even the mages and servants. He was to be kept at arms length, even the princess Anna. He was slightly cautious with, there of course is a debt of gratitude that could not be questioned as this opportunity may have provided a new way for him to provide for his family. However, there is still the lingering suspicion over why he was chosen over all the other worth while candidates. He ponders it slightly before putting it on the back of his mind, he shall ask the question later, if he is able to understand her mind more. A feeling within lit up that sensed it may be quite difficult. This is a person who wears a mask always, for roomers he has heard but is unsure over. Soren questions himself as he now walked towards the long hallway to her room.
It may all be a facade for all Soren knows, but he once again puts the thought into the back of his mind. He shall hold his tongue against the hand that is feeding him currently, he has too many responsibilities to forsake.
A single maid made her way past Soren, their eyes meeting and glancing at each other for but a second. When she suddenly looked away fast and paced off quicker behind him.
He knew it, he was right. He was to be avoided, after all. Nothing but pain always came when involved with him...
As Soren arrives on the front door of the princess's bedroom he straightens his back and prepares to knock.
'What am I doing, knocking on a maiden's door so late. My sister would scold me for my lack of manners.'
A sigh escapes h
