Just what in the hell was going through her mind when she made such a decision? She rebelled against her father's demands and decided to take it upon herself to explore the underworld... Or in other words, the city down below. Sure, she has heard many startling rumors about what took place down below, but she wanted to see it for herself. Little did she know that she'd regret ever making such a shocking discovery. Their city was the complete opposite of Willowdale. While Willowdale was bright and painted in many beautiful colors, the undercity was dull and eery. Never before had the woman seen people with such... Unique appearances. And definitely not unique in a great way. To her, this was something she'd never seen before. Not once did she step foot in the undercity until today. She had grown overwhelmed by the violence she'd see as she continued walking the city. She kept her appearance hidden, wearing a black hoodie. She had heard many things about the underworld people and how if not all, most of their body was cybernetic. In Willowdale, it wasn't like that. Almost all of her people were completely pure... Sure, some may have had some small unnoticeable modifications, but that wasn't a big deal. Mei was completely pure. No modifications were done to her body, nor did she plan on having any done. Due to how overwhelmed and frightened she was by the people around her, she could be seen crouching down in a corner away from the large crowds of 'people', holding her pet puppy close. At this point, she had no idea what to call him. From what she had seen so far, they were viscous beings. @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓 (lmk if I should edit anything please!

Helios calmly walked around town, a bag with some bread and some chips in his hand as he headed home calmly. It was then he heard a puppy's whine, something he hadn't heard in a while. He hummed, walking towards the sound. He hid behind a wall and poked his head in, only to see a girl there, secluded and hidden away while hugging what appeared to be a puppy. He sighed, guessing it was safe as he walked over to the woman. "Hey, girly" he said softly, getting down on one knee and offering some of his bread to her "You don't... Fit here? You look different than us all." He spoke rather gently, a comforting smile on his face as he sat beside her "You don't.. appear to have any modifications, how come?" He asked "Are you a pure one?" He added to his previous question, waiting for her to take the piece of bread @Would That I

Mei was startled by the sudden sound of another's voice. Hesitantly, she looked up to see who it was who had been speaking to her. He was a dark haired male who looked to also have modifications done to his body. Unlike the others, he didn't seem to be aggressive in any way. "What?" She mumbled, her tone of voice was confused. Meanwhile, her puppy eagerly perked up and snatched the piece of bread with it's mouth. "I'm not from here." She replied, loosening the grip on her pet. "A pure one? If not having any modifications means I'm pure, then yes." She nodded and adjusted her posture. This man in front of her was strange looking compared to the people in her city. "Just what are you?" Helios smiled as the dog took a piece of bread, gently petting it as it ate. He then looked up at her "Yeah, I would've guessed so. How come a pure one from Willowdale came down here?" He asked in confusion. He tilted his head at her last question "I'm human? Well, as human as I can be with all these robotic parts. I guess you'd call me a cyborg?" He said all of us down here are either cyborgs, androids or robots. There aren't any pure ones, which is why this place is very dangerous for you." He said @Would That I

Her puppy was a brown pug named PeeWee. He was a friendly little fella who enjoyed treats, and not only that but he was quite smart. "I was curious." She was embarrassed to admit so. "I wanted to see this place for myself. I've never been down here before." She knew it was dangerous to be walking streets like this alone. The people here weren't friendly, and that much was obvious. Well, most. "And curiosity definitely killed the cat." Mei let out a soft sigh, petting her puppy. "What is your name? You don't seem... Well, cruel as the other people." Mei bit her bottom lip, sucking in some air. "Your... Eyes. What happened to them? It was pretty obvious that she was just really curious and wanted to know more about these so-called 'cyborg' people. "I should really get going home. Uhm-" She stopped herself short. Helios sighed softly "It definitelty did.. you're not getting back up there. Unless your father's the ruler of Willowdale, you're stuck down here forever, dear. So you better get used to this environment." He hummed, gently petting her head. He hummed at her question, responding with his name "Helios Turner. And yeah, I'm a softie, so I'm a little nicer than most." He chuckled. When he heard about his eyes, he gulped "Ah, someone took them out to sell them... So yeah these eyes are fake. Thankfully now I can see better than I could before!" He said, trying to keep in the positive side. "Ah, honey.. you-... Like I said, once you're down here, there's no way of going back up..." "What? Oh... But, that doesn't make any sense." She let out a nervous chuckle. She shouldn't tell any of these people that her father was the ruler of Willowdale. "Helios? That's an odd name." She chuckled nervously. "My name is Mei... Mei Lien." Mei knew that her father would notice her disappearance soon, but it would take him a while to even get to the underworld. It had taken her months of planning. "What?! That's... Insane." She lowered her voice, realizing that she is was starting to draw attention. "I can't stay here. I have nowhere to go." @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

Helios chuckled softly "I'd suppose my name is odd, but to be honest all names down under are odd" he said, before hearing her name "Mei... That's a very pretty name." He said with a sweet smile, before seeing her panic. He shook his head "Wrong. I can let you stay with me? Though I doubt you trust me enough for that.." he said, shivering as it began getting cold. He hugged himself. "Well, you should hurry and make a choice, wether you stay here or come with me, cuz I don't want to get sick-" he said @Would That I

"Thanks..." She trailed off, a bit lost in thought. How long would it be before her father began looking for her? Would he even go through the trouble of making the trip down to the city below? She was his one and only heir after all. "What? You'd let me stay with you?" PeeWee barked happily. "Well..." She let out a soft sigh. It would be bad to trust this guy so suddenly, but she knew she didn't have any other choice if she wanted to stay warm. "That'll be fine." @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

Helios nodded, standing up and reaching a hand out to help her up, once she was up, he waved her over so she'd follow and began walking into the deeper city. Eventually, they reached an apartment building, Helios opened the door, walked in, looked around outside before shutting the door again, heading up the stairs. And soon enough, they were in his apartment. "Alright, I'll go prepare your room, and then I'll fix some food for all of us." He spoke @Would That I

Mei grabbed his hand to get back up on her feet. Her mind was all over the place. How would she survive down here? Sure, she knew how to fight only a little bit... But that wasn't going to be enough to help her survive down here. She regretted ever being curious about the under city. Mei let out a soft sigh, stroking her dogs fur as they walked behind Helios. The entire city was almost in complete ruins. She was surprised that there were still buildings that stood. "Oh, thank you so much." She smiled kindly, bending down to set her dog free in the apartment. Luckily he was trained and wouldn't cause a ruckus. @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

Helios nodded, preparing the room for her before heading off to prepare a tasty soup. Once everything was done, he set the table. "So, you come from the heaven, huh? What's it like up there?" He asked, setting the bowls down. @Would That I

"Heaven?" She let out a soft chuckle. "Well... It's different. A lot different." She said, a soft sigh escaped her lips as she sat down at the dining table. The chair creaked with almost every movement she made. "Well, there's a lot of buildings... Bright lights. Technology is more advanced." She shrugged. "Though, we don't use parts like you all do." @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

Helios hummed, sitting down as well once he’d served the two and beginning to eat as he listened to her “How come you don’t use your great technology like we do?“ he asked “You guys could become so powerful!“ he said @Would That I

"Well, having so much power can corrupt a person. And well- we're doing just well without using parts so often." Mei didn't want to say anything that would come off as rude or disrespectful. The two were probably both very curious about where each other came from and what it was like. "How many parts do you have?" She asked out of curiosity? "What does your eyes feel like? Can I touch them? Will they hurt you?" She blurted out several questions. "Ah... Sorry. It's a habit of mine." @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

"I see. Well, I'm glad up there, you guys can manage without using parts... Down here, anyone who doesn't have them is dead meat..." He chuckled a bit, "Well, I have my eyes, I have my right arm, my legs, and the chip in my brain!" He said, getting closer. "No, it won't hurt me. Go ahead and touch if you'd like!" He said softly

"Why do you have a chip in your brain? What is it for?" She questioned, furrowing her eyebrows. She didn't see what use a chip would do. Mei hesitated before bringing her hand up to one of their eyes. She used her pointer finger to touch them. They didn't feel like real eyes at all. It was honestly pretty cool. "Wow, that's so cool." She mumbled softly, a smile tugged at her lips. @𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒓

Helios smiled softly “Well, a chip keeps track of all of your information. In my case, everything that a hospital would need, along with my papers, my bank account... Honestly everything you would need so you don’t have to carry all those big papers around.“ he said with a shrug. @Would That I
