He liked the new side of her that she was revealing to him, the innocent playful side. He wanted to protect this side of her, he wanted to protect every part of her of course. He didn’t want her to change and he didn’t want her to lose her brightness. This was the only him that he knew how to show, he was more tender, more honest with her then anyone else. He wouldn’t trust anyone else like he trusted her. But he didn’t know if there was more of him to reveal. The parts of him that wasn’t useful, the parts of him that his mother despised was buried so deep down that he didn’t know if those parts of him could be retrieved. He remembered being so kind, so eager to help people but now. Would he have went out of his way to protect her if he didn’t bump into her? If he didn’t need her. If she was someone else, he probably wouldn’t have helped her, it was instant when he met her that she was important to him. He smiled as he saw the way that her eyes glimmered his lips gently kissing her temple. Once night comes, he would get them both inside again, somewhere if it wasn’t inside in a bedroom then it would be in a tent thing were going to be okay, he wasn’t going to let things be any other way. He didn’t care who he had to fight to keep her safe, he didn’t care what he had to draw his blade against. “You were the one that jumped onto me.” He teased back before he let her pull away watching her finish getting dressed before he pulled himself to his feet. His rapier was slid onto his right side the dagger was on the other side. He was left-handed after all it would be the best way to fight. And when she held her hand out to him, he stepped forward to gently take her hand in his. Before he pulled her in close his arm wrapping around her hips. “Come on my love. We'll head out and travel as far as we can before night comes and then I’ll show you how to ward vampires away.” He told her with a soft smile. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Together, the two of them would start a journey. An adventure, even. And while it wasn't necessarily going to be easy for them to make their way in the world, Aria was sure that by his side, she would be alright. Pulled back into his arms, Aria looked up, lifting her gaze curiously. "Mmmm okay." She grinned, weaving her fingers with his as they began to walk towards the exit of the warehouse they had been calling home for the last few days. It was strange, the dark warehouse had become so comfortable to them that it was hard to leave. Hard to leave the safety and protection of such a dark and damp place. They even had ignored the harsh smells of mildew and lived there without question. And something about that reassured Aria. It meant that they would be fine, whether it meant that they would have to live in a tent or even sleep under a blanket of stars. They would find a way to best make themselves comfortable as long as they had one another by their side. They walked for a while. While she had a cloak, Aria clung close to him the entire way, her gaze held down as she clung to his arm nervously. She wondered if the guards were still looking for her. If they had continued to look for her after that day or whether they had given up, knowing their chase was cruel and unjust in the first place. As they walked outside, life felt a little different. It was strange how being outside with him was entirely different from her life prior to meeting him. She was safe. She didn't have to keep her head down or be worried, because he was there to keep her safe. "Ivory?" She asked as they walked, "How many days of travel do you think it will be before we arrive somewhere safe?" She questioned, her voice soft as her hood threatened to fall off, her ears too perked to keep it on in a stable fashion. "Will we leave the city today and just keep going until we find something?" It seemed that while they had discussed leaving, neither of them necessarily had all that thorough of

It felt much nicer travelling with her then it was travelling alone, and it wasn’t just because when he was travelling by himself, he was so hungry. No even if he didn’t need blood he wouldn’t have been as happy then as he was now. With her by his side he didn’t stew in dark thoughts. She was too talkative for that; she was too bright for that. Too sweet for that. Her excitement, her curiosity everything about her just made him feel light. He had always felt lonely even before he left his family and he felt like a monster. But how could he be a monster when someone as pure and kind hearted as her was so clingy to him. If it was someone else holding close to him, he would have probably grown annoyed but he didn’t with her. His lips kissed her temple, a gentle smile on his lips not missing the way that her hood seemed to stand up. He found it cute imagining her ears stood up straight with her glee. “My kitten.” He answered back as he heard his name before he listened to her question. “I’m not sure, we’re leaving the city today, and we’ll travel until night where we will find somewhere to settle down, but I promise you no matter where we are I will keep you safe.” He whispered to her before he stopped and crouched down scooping her up in his arms bridal style not caring who saw. “If you want you can take off your hood and show your ears. You should be able to proudly display your heritage. I won’t let anyone try to take that away from you.” He avoided the guards as he walked, walking through alleys, his footsteps silent before they reached the gate frowning lightly as he put her down. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword before he made himself relax. If they tried to stop them from leaving, he didn’t care he would fight every guard he had to fight. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

My Kitten The phrase seemed to make her emotions tingle in a way that she wasn't entirely used to. Her ears perked up happily as he spoke, the hood threatening to fall off as she held it on with her index fingers while walking, her gaze lifted towards him. Their adventure had begun together and with one another by their side, they could take on the world in a way that neither felt possible prior. He would never worry again about the anxiety of being entirely alone nor would he feel the thirst for blood. Of course, she knew that was not how he was thinking about it, but it was the truth. He would never need to worry about the worry of starving should she by his side, and it was clear she wanted to be by his side. She paused and looked at him, nodding as he leaned down and scooped her into his arms. She gasped and fell easily into his arms. She was light as a feather, her body easy to carry should he want and his being a dhampire making it even easier. She practically weighed nothing due to her agile body and her petite frame. She blushed and looked up at him, her hood falling off to reveal her ears once more as he wished. "I--" She looked at him, her cheeks hot and red as he literally swept her off of her feet again. He had a way with entirely leaving her without words. She couldn't help but feel flustered by the things that he did, especially as there was no end to ways that he flustered her. "Okay... as long as it doesn't bother you." She whispered softly, biting her lip a little before relaxing into his arms, finding a specific sense of safety as he held her with a clear warning for any who questioned it. She was his. And no one could change that nor should even attempt to. As they made their way to the gate, she returned to her feet, her gaze shifting slightly behind him. Would they have an issue would leaving? There was a chance. The guards in town were known for their bad attitudes and their abuse of power. They were known to make personal issues and

treat others based upon them. Aria paused and lifted her hood once more, clearly worried that it would pose as an issue did she not. As they walked up, the guards would grow alert, their eyes shifting in the direction of the two. "Oi, you two there. Where're you going? Got a permit?" Reality: Neither needed a permit to leave city limits. The guard's just liked to try and get people to pay money on their way out should they have the chance to. It was a large guard who first approached, his skin almost red from having drank too much and his beard looking unwashed and gross. He seemed to be at least half dwarven, his build stocky and his face looking dwarven despite his contrasted height. Dwarves were a strong folk, built to last as many would say. While not as strong as vampires, their people lasted well and made names for themselves within the city as workers and builders and occasionally guards, though their usual lack of height often posed an issue. It seemed that his half heritage left him rather strong, almost making him better than a full dwarf. @All time Jack

He loved the way that she gasped and fell into his arms, enjoying the way she blushed as she looked up at him, he let a smile brace his lips as he looked into his eyes feeling how light, how perfect she felt in his arms. He doubted that he would ever tire of holding her close and when her ears were revealed he leaned forward to gently kiss her cheek while she started to speak loving how flustered she was. Maybe it was a little mean to purposely keep flustering her, but he couldn’t help it. Not with how cute she looked when she was flustered. The way her cheeks went red even as her eyes stayed stood up out of her happiness making it clear to him that she wasn’t actually upset. “I like it when your ears are out like this, their cute.” He whispered back to her as he felt her relax in his embrace his fingers rubbing gentle circles into her body until they reached the gate and he was reluctant to put her down at that point his hand going to hers, his grip firm as if he was promising her that no one would be able to separate them with his touch. He didn’t say anything about her fixing her hood, knowing that with the guards sometimes staying hidden was the best thing, he was calm. Until he heard the guards' words. Looking up as he saw the large guard, a man quite larger than him, if he was human, he knew that the man would be stronger than him but as it was the only thing about the man that was stronger than the dhampir was the smell of the dwarf. Glaring back at the guard, he let one of his pale hands rest on the hilt of his blade, the other wrapped around Aria’s hips pulling her in close protectively.
6:38 PM
“We do have a permit yes.” It was a lie of course but he had no intentions on paying the guard. Not when they had allowed what had happened to Aria inside of their walls. His hand lifted up the blade slightly, not enough to unsheathe it only enough to flash a bit of the blade before he continued to speak. “But it’s going to be a long day for us and getting it can be pretty draining are you sure it’s needed?” He asked making sure his fangs as he spoke, glinting off the sunlight. The threat was clear, if the guards messed with them then he would make sure they learned to regret it. Which was why he wasn’t surprised when the guards backed off. “No, it’s okay there’s no need sir.” The half dwarf told him quickly, obviously cowered by the vampire that stood before him. “Good, now if anyone asks you didn’t see either of us leaving the city. If I find out you’ve spoken about us, I’m going to come back here and find you both.” He threatened his voice low, his eyes glared at them both focusing on the man that smelt the most his eyes flashing with hunger before he walked forward leading Aria out the gates with him. Planning to get the far from the city before he stopped walking. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Fear. Part of Aria wanted to cower behind him, to run and hide. Perhaps that was partially her instincts, after all, cats weren't necessarily the highest predator in the animal kingdom. They were known to prefer stalking their enemies rather than to walk up to them directly. She bit her lip as she heard the guard's voice, his stature intimidating as he approached the pair of them with a demanding tone. Guards were intimidating to her, after all, all of the guards that she had met had been corrupt in one way or another and that often meant coming into conflict even when you didn't expect it. She was sure that was what happened to her parents. After all, Aria hadn't actually seen her parents in ages. She knew not whether it be by death or abandonment but at a point she had grown numb to the question. She assumed them dead, after all, what was the point of raising her for so long if they were going to abandon her. Or had they simply grown tired of the needless energy she wasted and instead wanted to start a new life together. She knew not and at a point, she had grown rather tired of wondering and simply moved on. While rather lonely, Aria had found her way through the city, maneuvering the city as if she knew it better than anyone else. Now it felt strange, as if something had changed. She used to strictly travel the back allies, avoiding the gazes of guards and other people who might hurt her. Yet now, she had Ivory by her side and even though she knew she was safe, part of her still wanted to revert to her old ways. She anxiously shifted behind him slightly as he pulled her closer, her heart pounding. Aria hated the adrenaline that rushed through her veins when she was in trouble. She truly knew she was a coward in all senses of the word. No matter how she tried to act tough, she knew that she stood no chance against the men who were both bigger and stronger than her. At least Ivory was stronger than them, his threat seemingly seeping into the men's minds

before they backed off. Everyone knew that messing with vampires was a permanent death sentence. And while Ivory wasn't a vampire, it would be rather hard for them to recognize that. She paused and looked at him, following as he lead her through the gates. She seemed nervous, one hand clinging to the back of his shirt for some sort of safety. Everything about her body language said that she was scared, her gaze held down as she glanced back at the guards but continued to walk. "You don't think people will continue to bother us?" She questioned, only letting her hood slide off once more after they were out of sight. Even though they had walked plenty and were out of the sight of the guard's she still seemed worried, her gaze flicking behind her every now and then as to confirm that they weren't being followed. "No one will hurt us or... anything... or start a fight... not with you, right?" @All time Jack

He wanted to kill the guard just for scaring Aria, of course she didn’t say that she was scared but she didn’t need to. He with his sense of smell, he could tell by his sense of hearing and even if he didn’t have that. He had spent long enough with her to be able to read her body language enough to know that she was intimidated. Maybe the reason why he didn’t kill the man was because he knew that the sight would have probably upset her. Of course, there was a difference between him promising her that he would do whatever it took to protect her and him making her watch him kill a guard who possessed no real threat. While he may not be an actual vampire, he knew that he would have no issue dealing with two guards. Actually, he could take down quite a lot of them without taking a scratch. He had always been quick, and he lacked the arrogance that most vampires had. At least in his experience. Most of them saw carrying a weapon as cowardice, vampires were supposed to fight with their hands and their fangs. But he picked up the blade, and with it he knew that he would be able to take off the man's head before his partner could even react. Maybe while they were travelling, he would make sure to teach her how to fight. Or at least the basics. Yes, she may never be as strong as others, but he had learned that weapons were great equalisers. If she knew how to use a dagger, she would have been able to kill the guards herself if she needed to.
5:56 PM
And with that they were back to walking, his hand staying on her hips while he led her out of sight. He bit down on his lower lip to hide a frown as he felt her cling to him not missing how scared she was before he stopped as he heard her question. Not missing the way, she kept looking behind herself. “I can’t promise that no one will ever try to start a fight with us or even that I will always win but I promise that I will do everything in my power to keep you safe. To keep us safe. I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure we live a long happy lie together.” He whispered to her in promise before he stepped into her his hands hooking under her knees to lift her up hugging her against his chest. “I love you so much. Now just hold onto me my kitten and let me handle everything else” He whispered his lips claiming hers to gently kiss her before he broke their kiss and started to walk with her in his arms. He walked for a main path for a bit before he stepped into the woods following through it as it was clear that he planned for them to camp, instead of finding a settlement. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Fighting. Aria had never been taught to fight, no it went against everything that her parents encouraged of her, even. Aria had been raised with the notion that she should always keep her head down and avoid trouble. Not fight back to it. And even though she well understood that he could protect himself, part of her was entirely aware that if he were to get hurt, there was nothing that she could do to protect them both. Aria needed to learn and to grow stronger, or else she would continue to be a dead weight to him. Something told her that she couldn't just do that. She needed to change if she wanted to remain by his side. As he stopped and lifted her into his arms, she paused, her gaze softening. "I want to work hard..." She whispered softly, nuzzling into him. "So that I don't hold you back... so that I can keep myself safe so I'm not a burden to you." She continued, her words soft and delicately chosen as she struggled to come up with the words that she wanted to express to him. Aria had always felt like a part of her hated putting her head down. It went against her own nature, her own curious and playful nature that she had always been forced to swallow down. Yet... now that she was with someone who loved her for who she was, she knew that it was okay for her to be herself. It was okay for her to learn to stand on her own two feet. "I... I'll be sure to grow strong so that I can fight on my own... so teach me what you know when you can?" She smiled, her ears perking up as he told her to hold on. Her lips met his and her eyes fell closed, letting their moment fade after some seconds before he began to walk again. After a long while of walking when he stopped, she pulled out of his arms, letting her fingers interlace with his. "Will it be safe?" She asked curiously, unsure of what potential creatures could be roaming the woods. Werewolves or other creatures could potentially be lurking, ready for a fight. She paused and looked at him, unsure about whether

Even if she never learned to fight and he kept needing to keep her safe he knew that he would never see her as a dead weight or as a burden. He believed that those with the ability to protect should protect those that need it. Of course, before he met her, he was in no position to fight, and he was forgetting about that belief but meeting her helped to rekindle it. As he spent time with her, he started to feel more like the real him. It was a nice feeling. He smiled back at her softly as he saw her gaze soften letting her nuzzle into his body his hands holding her close not speaking until she finished talking and he heard her question his lips gently kissing her temple. “you’ll never be a burden to me Aria and you don’t hold me back. You make me happier than I’ve ever been before.” He told her softly. “But I would happily teach you how to fight and when we get into town, we can find you a weapon you can call your own.”

His smile widened as he saw the way that her ears perked up. Smiling back at her happily as he didn’t miss the way she shut her eyes during their kiss as if she wanted to savour it before he focused on walking until they reached a point where he felt like they could start making a camp. Of course, he wanted to walk around for a bit longer first. He wanted to hopefully find a water source that they could bathe and drink out of. When she started to pull out of his arms, he let her carefully setting her down onto her feet to make sure that she wouldn’t fall before he let his hand grip hers back with a smile his hand gently squeezing hers as he heard her question. To answer he took a small sniff before he nodded. “I can’t smell any werewolves. So, if there is one their hidden well.” He told her softly. “And it’s not a full moon so we don’t have to worry about it too much.” He added before he started to walk forward with her his eyes looking for animal tracks to lead them to water. “Remind me to get an axe for cutting wood when we get into a settlement.” He murmured. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Burden. Perhaps it was too harsh of a word to use. Aria knew well that Ivory would never see her as a burden. He wasn't one to be like that. He wanted her there and she was well aware of that, and yet part of her feared that if she were to not learn to fight, she would always be dead weight to him. She would be holding him back, reliant on his protection without even making efforts to grow or change. Change. Aria knew well that she needed to change. She no longer lived the life that she once had and she both needed to and wanted to change. That was why it made her glad as he was willing to train her, her eyes lighting up at the idea. A weapon that was her own, one that she would learn to wield with confidence. Confidence. It wasn't something Aria had ever had much of, her disposition more meek and mild than anything. She had grown rather used to cowering behind others but the idea of being able to stand strong with a weapon and to know her own abilities sounded riveting to her. Another layer of her adventure that she couldn't help but grow incredibly excited for. She paused and looked at him as he put her down onto her feet, the balls of her feet hitting the ground as he carefully placed her down so that she didn't fall. "Mmmm..." She paused, taking a few sniffs as if she was confirming his beliefs. Of course, vampires had better senses in general than nekomimi. They were known for their strong senses of perception, able to see further, smell more and even sense danger oncoming. Of course, their sense of feeling often was less, as was their emotional connection to the world, but those didn't seem to effect Ivory as a dhampire. "Nope. No werewolves." She grinned and confirmed, holding up a thumbs up to him as his hand slipped in between hers to hold it. She paused and looked down at the ground as she walked, each step lingering as the darkness began to take over the evening once more. While it wasn't yet nighttime, Aria found twilight to be even scarier at ti

mes. Perhaps it was due to the fact that she knew they were not entirely alone, even some animals posing threat to her. She hated her own weakness, clinging to his arms as he began to scan the area for animal tracks. "Mmmkay." She nodded, wrapping her arms around his for a sense of safety as she walked. Eventually the pair found a trail of deer tracks that led towards water, both safe enough to follow and letting them know that there were animals that could be used as food within the forest. While the trail was long, after about 20 minutes of walking, they would find a source of water, a decently sized water fall that led from the mountains above into a river. Fresh water. Even fish swam within the body of water, giving them ample food options if need be. @All time Jack

His hand gripped hers with a gentle firmness that helped convey the fact that he would never leave her. He was going to love her for the rest of their lives together. He wanted to kiss her every fear away. To make her feel secure and safe. But he knew that sometimes the only way to do that was to make them feel strong. To make them feel like if something happened, they would be able to defend themselves. Sometimes a person wouldn’t feel secure even surrounded by warriors if they didn’t know what to do themself. If when a fight broke out and all they could do was hide in the background, then that could make one feel frail. He was going to train her how to fight in her own way, and he was going to get her a weapon herself that was fit for her. Maybe something like a spear or a knife or a chain. Or a short sword. Growing up he remembered meeting a kind man when he got some time away from his mother. He was human but there was something about the man that seemed different. Ethereal. He seemed to know from the start that the boy in front of him wasn’t a human or a vampire. That he was something in between. He remembered the man telling him that he could be the best of both worlds.
6:38 PM
That he could be as powerful as a vampire while being just as kind and moral as the kind humans. That he could go above his vampiric urges. He never met that man again, but the words stuck with him. He smiled back at her as he saw her thumbs up leaning forward to gently kiss her temple. “Yeah, we will be okay my love. I promise we will be okay.” He whispered to her as his hand gently squeezed hers before he let her cling to his arms. Part of him was tempted to pick her up but it felt as if she wanted to walk herself. When he found the deer tracks, he smiled. Following them until they reached water, but it was even better than he was expecting. The waterfall looked beautiful, and the fish seemed plentiful. When they stopped his arms wrapped around her hips pulling her flush against his chest. “I’m going to enjoy washing you in there.” He whispered to her teasingly before he carefully dropped his bag. “Do you know how to hunt fish? If not, I’m going to be setting up our camp if you’d like to help.” He whispered to her his lips pressing against her cheek as in his head he made a list of everything they needed to do. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Human. In terms of power, humans weren't much above nekomimi. In a world where magic and supernatural creatures reigned supreme, not having powers meant you were rather weak. Furthermore, humans had always been known fools, apt to falling into the tricks of the other races. They were a varied race, both kind at times and cruel at others, not hesitating to bring harm to their own yet also at times standing up against powers much beyond their own strength. Perhaps that was why it was strange to know that a vampire and a human would ever dare mate. It was almost as strange in concept as was a dhampire and a nekomimi falling in love. They were strange pairings and yet at times it proved that love defied logic, love could defy that which society could not seem to break from. She paused and looked at him with a soft smile, her gaze lifting up to him. His words were softly reassuring. Reassuring in the way that she felt safe and knew that she could let go of her worries. They were okay. And they would continue to be okay. As long as he was by her side, no animal nor person would hurt her. That was what she wanted to believe and would continue to live by as long as she stayed by his side as she should. As they entered a plentiful clearing, Aria's eyes lit up, her gaze shifting around with a happy smile. It was better luck than either of them could have expected. She paused and looked at him, giggling as he wrapped his arms around her hips and pulled her in. "Oh shush." She whined as he teased her, dropping his bag to the ground. She pouted slightly and nodded, "I think so." She noted, pulling from him before running towards the water's edge to crouch down and watch the fish for several moments. She paused and looked over her shoulder before pulling off her clothes, taking off what she could before looking at the fish with a daring gaze. She grinned and pounced into the water goofily, slashing at the fish with her claws. She looked a little silly but it seemed like sh

To his knowledge while humans where physically more powerful then Nekomimi he believed that the only reason why humans had a higher status then them was because they had greater numbers and because they were more adaptable. But in time he was sure that he could teach her how to hold her own. She just needed to find what her strengths were and to take advantage of them. Maybe that was her flexibility, the fluidity you could obtain in a fight it could also be her speed. His was a mixture of his speed and his strength, being able to leave killing blows before an enemy would be able to even raise their first was always useful. It made his ability to heal quickly pretty obsolete whatever her strengths where he would help her to use them. How his parents had met he still didn’t know. there was very, very little he knew about his father. His mother never brought it up when he was with her, and he had realised early on that it wasn’t really a topic he was supposed to bring up. He didn’t spend too long reminiscing thinking it was cute how excited she seemed as they got into the clearing. Spotting the happy smile on her face before he spoke to her and pulled her in close. They could send forever here, and he would be happy so long as he would be with her. So long as he would be able to hear her whine and giggle. So long as he would get to see her smile and pout. He would even be able to accept the sound of her crying so long as he was there to help cheer her up. “Well go have fun then but be careful.” He called back to her with a smile letting her break free from his eyes as he watched her race to the edge.
6:59 PM
He would have looked away but when she started to get undressed, he let himself get distracted his eyes admiring her body until she jumped into the water watching as she slashed at the fish. But once he was sure that she would be okay he let himself look away to make camp. They were pretty lucky with what they had managed to find. He just wished he had an axe. While he could technically cut a tree down with his sword. Or at least he could try he knew that he would have to be very careful otherwise he would damage the blade. Luckily, he didn’t strictly need to cut down any trees. He could make do with the sticks he found off the ground as he set up their camp. A thick coarse blanket was placed over the ground. It would be kind of uncomfortable to lie on he knew but it was more to keep them dry then for them to lie on directly. Blankets would be placed over it. To keep it from being blown away by the wind there was loops in sections sticking out from the edges. With his knife and some of the sticks he had collected he managed to nail them into the ground. Going above it would be a tarp tent, made out of thick fabric quite like the base with slots for sticks and branches to hold it up. He managed to get the middle one in using a large branch that he had ripped off a dying tree before he heard her return deciding to take a break he smiled as he stepped out one of his arms wrapping around her hips to pull her close. Not missing how wet she was. He hummed she seemed find with it, but he didn't want her getting a cold. “I can see that you’ve caught dinner, good girl.” He whispered praised gently kissing her lips. “How about we set them down, get you dry so you don’t get a cold and then if you know how to you could gut the fish. If not, I can, and you can see about taking over finishing this shelter.” He suggested to her his lips leaving eager kisses against her jaw @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Cats hate water. Or at least that was what many people used to think. Of course, that was mostly because people were forcing them into it rather than letting them accept it themselves. Cats were stubborn creatures, as were nekomimi and quite frankly, they didn't enjoy anything that had to involve them being forced to do something against their will. In all actuality, the wouldn't if they had any semblance of a choice. After all, as noted, cats were very stubborn creatures. They would scratch day and night before they let you do something they hadn't wanted. And if you had finally coaxed them into whatever silly garb you were going to put on them, they would hold it against you for the rest of the day, making it their last goal to torture you and make you miserable. Of course, Aria wouldn't go to those lengths, but stubborness ran in her veins despite the fact that she most likely wouldn't admit it. She was born to be a fighter in many ways she didn't know, her own speed alone enough to outrun most humans and her dexterity was so agile that she could keep on her feet no matter how far she fell from. And while it wasn't a trait particularly known of cats, she seemingly was a rather decent swimmer. She grinned as she walked back from the water, dripping wet and holding several dead fish in her hands. She probably needed a bucket but in this case, they didn't seem to have any so her arms would have to do. She grinned and walked over to him and placed the fish down, humming happily as he wrapped his arms around her hips and pulled her in. She seemed proud and glad to be helpful, ultimately hoping she could prove helpful more often as she didn't want to be a dead weight on this trip. She would go to many lengths to prove that she could be helpful and was worth his time. Even if she knew he would never claim that she wasn't. It wasn't in him to say such things. She paused and looked up, pressing onto her tip toes to kiss him before lowering herself down quickly.

"Mhm, I can catch more in the morning too!" She grinned happily, ears perked up as she looked at him eagerly. "I won't get a cold..." She noted, looking in her bag for something that she could dry herself off with. While unfortunate, they didn't have much, only a spare jacket that they had shoved in from the warehouse. She paused, "How about I make a fire...?" She diverted from the task, thinking that if he was so worried about her being wet then a fire would do nicely to keep them warm and help her dry. She paused and looked around for some firewood, having matches in the bag to start the fire. It was several moments before she pulled from his grip to start looking for firewood, allowing him to finish up with the tent. When she returned, he had made quite a tremendous amount of progress, their tent ready for resting in. She paused and knelt down, forming the wood she had found into a decent shape before grabbing a match and throwing it into the fire. While not quickly, the flame began to grow, slowly forming in the branches. She smiled and looked at him, "There we go... now we'll be warm." @All time Jack

He couldn’t deny that he liked the sight of her soaked body while she returned to him his eyes looking into hers. She was beautiful and the dead fish in her hands didn’t take away from how beautiful he thought she was. Now he had wished that he had figured out a better place to put the fish that was in her hands, but he knew that they would need to make do with what they had and besides once he had the time to cook it wouldn't really matter that they didn’t have any buckets. He smiled back at her as he heard her hum enjoying how closely he pressed her body against his own. She made his body a bit wet as they touched but it didn’t matter to him. Even if she soaked him, he wouldn’t mind. She could soak him, pull him into garlic infused water where the temperature was sub-zero, and his only worry would be about her getting cold.
7:44 PM
He leaned forward quickly as she pecked his lips before he quickly kissed her back before he let her pull away from him to gather wood while he finished the tent. There were better ones of course, and maybe it was a little too small for them both but since he was sure that they were going to be sleeping very close together he didn’t think that would be too much of worry. She could just sleep on top of him if it came to it. When he was done setting up the tent, he looked at the fire she was making, noticing the steady flame. “You're really amazing Aria.” He whispered to her “how about you look through the wood and tell me which ones you’d think would work best for skewers and I’ll start gutting the fish.” He told her setting down a couple of large cloths onto the grass where he would put the prepped fish before he unsheathed his dagger and started to carefully cut out everything that they wouldn’t want to eat from the fish before he threw down the parts they wouldn’t want to eat a mid-distance away into the grass and went towards the lake to wash his hands of blood. “Tell me tomorrow what’s one thing you really want to do? I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure your wish comes true.” he called out to her. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Warmth. Every moment that she spent with him felt as if it were warm. Even when she was soaking wet and rather cold in all technicality. She felt warm when she was by his side. Perhaps it was that her heart felt entirely filled when she was with him. Of course, he had filled her in other ways but she wasn't sure that had necessarily been the root of the cause regarding her contentness. She was fairly sure that was simply a side effect of her happiness within their relationship. As the fire billowed and grew, Aria watched it softly, her gaze intently focusing on it. It seemed to reflect in her eyes as she watched it curiously, unsure of whether it would grow with the wind continually pushing into it. For several moments, she watched the flame with an intensity that he most likely hadn't yet seen her show, her gaze and attention entirely focused on the flame as it wavered in the wind. She frowned, standing and attempting to move in front of the wind to block it, yet the wind only dodged around her, continuing to bother the flame. Pouting, she took a seat, looking over to him as if he could fix it. Of course, he seemed proud of her nonetheless, praising her as if she had done something all that deserving of it. Her eyes lit up happily as he leaned towards her and whispered his praise to her. "Anyone could do this." She giggled despite seeming rather happy that he praised her for her efforts. She paused and looked at him, "Mmm... okay." She nodded, walking to the pile of sticks she had gathered to see if any were of use for making skewers with, having entirely forgotten she would need to gather sticks for that. After a moment, she stood and ran towards the forest again, humming to herself as she searched for some decent sticks. It wasn't long before she returned with enough sticks to be used for their fish. Some were a tad long, but thickness and sturdiness wise, they would do. She smiled and brought them over to him, her gaze shifting as he questioned her. "One

He loved being with her, holding her close, touching her, kissing her. She made him feel warmer than any fire could and while she watched the fire, he watched her from the side his eyes looking into hers. He thought that it was cute how focused her eyes were, the way she watched with an intensity. And he couldn’t help but think it was cute the way she tried to stand in front of the flames as if trying to block the air. She was cute and he praised her with a smile enjoying the way that her eyes were quick to light up in happiness but of course he couldn’t spend forever watching her which was why he had suggested she look for sticks while he worked on gutting the fish, by the time she had returned he had finished gutting the fish and after washing his hands he smiled at her. “Good girl.” He whispered to her once she was done taking the sticks that would work before he impaled the ready fish onto them while he listed to her speaking about what she would like to see. “You know I said one thing, but because I love you then you can choose two things.” He whispered to her with a smile putting down the sticks to help steady the fire. Putting stones and thick pieces of wood at the bottom while he did his best to ignore the heat of the fire. While only being a dhampir he wasn’t quite as vulnerable to fire as vampires were they still never failed to make him feel uncomfortable. His mother was petrified of fire. “I can’t make any promises that you’ll get to ride a horse tomorrow. I don’t think we’ll really come across any, but I’ll make sure that you get to see the sunrise and the sunset.” He promised her while putting the fish down over the fire before he patted his lap. “Come here.” He told her taking a seat in front of the fire. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Fish. The scent alone made her tummy rumble, her stomach eager for the food that she had caught. She had rarely had the chance to eat seafood as a child due to the sheer cost of it and yet as she smelled it beginning to waft in the air, her mouth began to water. After all, nekomimi were known to have a rather ravenous appetite when it came to sea food, specifically fish. Her gaze shifted as he impaled the fish and placed them nearer to the flames, watching with a look that made it clear that she wanted it already. She would eat them raw if she had to. After a moment, she got ahold of herself and looked at him, grinning as he said she could choose two things, her eyes lighting up eagerly. She had a innocent youthfulness to her eyes, as if anything could make her smile. It didn't seem to take much to impress her, her lips easily tugging into a smile whenever he said anything remotely sweet towards her. She smiled and nodded, "Really?!" She grinned and looked at him, "Well then because I love you,... you can choose two things too!" She threw her hands into the air and celebrated cutely, her ears perked up playfully. "I guess not... but eventually, can we?" She asked as she looked towards him, pouting ever so slightly that he couldn't make her dream come true. She thought it looked quite fun to ride on horseback though she knew she would feel much more comfortable doing so with him there to protect her should she fall. She looked at him with a slight pout as he patted his lap, asking for her to come closer. "Fineee." She fake whined before crawling into his lap as if she wasn't glad to do so. Yet the moment she settled onto his lap she seemed happier than ever, snuggling into him cozily. @All time Jack

If he didn’t have strong senses then he probably wouldn’t have heard the sound of her stomach rumbling as the fish started to cook a small smile on his face as he thought that she was cute, and if he had known about her love apparent love for fish he would have asked her to try and catch more but they had enough for tonight. In the morning they could catch more he was sure, but right now he was more focused on making sure she didn’t eat any raw fish. He didn’t want her getting ill after all. He was of course happy to take care of her but that didn’t mean he would let her food poisoning just so that he could look after her. Her question simply made him smile back at her loving the way she grinned before she told him that he could choose two things as well. A hum leaving his lips as he tried to decide what he wanted as he heard her second question and in reply he nodded back at her quickly and when she agreed to come onto his lap, he smiled at her happily feeling her weight rest on his lap. “Good girl.” He whispered to her with a smile his arms wrapping around her hips, holding her against his lap before one of his hands slid up her body to cup one of her ears giving just a small squeeze before he moved his hands back down, his hands linking together over her belly. “Well, I guess my two things are I want to see you smiling all through tomorrow and I want you to promise me that you won’t try and eat any of the fish before they are done cooking.” He told her with teasing smile. He rubbed her stomach with his hand, his arms pulling her in close letting her relax against his lap. “I love you and I promise you that one day we will get to ride a horse. Maybe when we find somewhere to settle down, I can even get you a horse of your own.” He whispered to her with a smile his lips pressing against her cheek. @꒰ shae ꒱ ༉‧₊˚.

Safe. In his arm, Aria knew that she was safe. She smiled and settled into his lap as he praised her lovingly. She giggled and cuddled into him, enjoying the way that he cuddled her, locking his arms around her so that it was hard for her to even wiggle against him. Settling in comfortably, she nuzzled into his hand and looked up at him, "That's all you want? Me to smile?" She looked at him curiously, her eyes soft and loving as she wondered if she had been selfish for not saying something of a similar vein. She had wanted both of those things but she also wanted him to be happy. Of course, she had just considered that a given. She pouted slightly at his second wish but nodded. "Fine... but they do smell about done--" She complained, well understanding that they were no where near done yet seeing as they had just put them on to cook. "I--" She started to reply back when her attention shifted. She glanced towards the tree line having heard something shifting from within. Her ears perked up as she looked towards him, "I love you too..." She noted softly, her attention still on the trees as if she was suspicious of something. He must've heard it too. After all, vampires had good senses as well. Potentially not as good as hers, yet she was sure that he was picking up on it. "Ivory.." She warned, her ears pressing down to her ear, pinning in a way that they only did when she felt cornered. "We aren't alone..." She warned him, her back straightening against him as she grew more anxious. The sounds around them began to grow closer. 20 feet at most. That was what Aria had deduced. Probably about 4 or 5 sets of footsteps. One of them was from a relatively large person, their footsteps heavier than the rest. They dragged their feet slowly and seemed to be coming from the left flank behind them. She pulled from his arms to stand, her gaze shifting around anxiously as she wondered if a stick would be enough to attack them with. Of course, she knew Ivory would try to f

She swallowed and grabbed a solid looking stick from her pile and looked at him, "I--" She bit her lip anxiously, her heart beginning to pound as she wondered who their attackers were and what they seemingly wanted from them. After all, they didn't have all that much to give. @All time Jack

He liked having her in his arms, on his lap. He liked listening to her giggle his free hand rubbing soft circles into her body feeling how she relaxed into him, how she nuzzled into his hand. “You’ve got a beautiful smile. I want to see it every single day.” He told her happily before he smirked watching as she pouted as he told her that she couldn’t have any of the fish just yet about to return his hands to her ears. And then he sensed the presence of other, and it seemed that she noticed them first his eyes looking at her ears noticing the way that her ears perked up after she looked into the treeline hearing her soft words before he watched as she looked back to the trees. She had noticed them before him, but even so he sensed them. Maybe if he wasn’t distracting her so much, she would have noticed them sooner, the heavy footsteps weren't hard to miss. His eyes looking into hers again as he heard her say his name nodding quickly as he heard her warning before he leaned forward as he felt her tense and straighten on his lap, not missing the way her ears pressed down as he gently kissed her temple. “Things are going to be okay.” He promised before he let her break free from his arms helping her stand up before he used his feet to stand up The sounds around them began to grow closer. His hands grabbing onto his still sheathed sword and his dagger before he flicked off the sheath for the dagger watching as she picked up a stick his eyes looking into hers. “Don’t worry, I'm not going to let them get close enough to you that you’ll have to use that.” He promised her not missing how heavy one of the sets of footsteps were. Some may have been intimated by the sound, heavy footsteps usually meant large and strong, but at the same time they seemed slow. Strength meant nothing if a person was too slow to hit their opponent and the dhampir was far from an easy target to hit and he was no slouch when it came to strength himself.
4:12 PM
When they got close enough that he could hear them breathing he noticed it, something that she might not have sensed. She had better senses then him yes, but he was still yet to find out if she was as well as sensing threats as he was. He could smell the adrenaline running through their bodies, he could smell the way that their blood rushed through their bodies ready to fight, and he could smell the dried blood on their weapons. Which was why he wasn't surprised tht when the group got in sight, they already had their weapons drawn. It was clear they planned to ambush them. But the blade that sliced through the air after he threw it, the small dagger sinking true into the wrist of one of the men brandishing a sword and shield in his hands made it clear that he was ready for them as the man cried out in pain letting go off his sword his arm now useless. hit the ground his body lifeless. “Stay behind me Aria.” He whispered to her warningly before he drew his sword and rushed forward and before any of them could get over their surprise of one of their men being injured a second was taken out, the dhampir's sabre slashing a painful groove into his side and that seemed to kick everyone into shift. A blow aimed at his head was deflected with the hilt of his sword the wooden point of a man's spear stabbing at the air harmlessly and before the man had the chance to strike again, he was slamming the hilt into his chest knocking him to the ground with a loud crack. With the new closeness he realised where the heavy footsteps were coming from as he ducked under a mace that would have done serious damage even to him. The swing came quicker than he was expecting as he stepped back to avoid a follow up strike his eyes meeting the orcs eyes before they hardened.
4:12 PM
He was well aware that orcs had thick skin, thick enough that he knew that he would struggle to pierce the large man's skin with his sabre. Luckily, he had other measures, his leg striking out and smashing into the thin part of the orcs knee creating a crack as he was forced onto the ground with a pained grunt that was silenced by a knee to his thick skull. And the last of them, he could have dodged the sword strike that was aimed at his midsection, but instead he stepped into it, his hands letting go off his weapons as cold steel pierced his side making it look like he had lost the fight for a second before his hand gripped the man's wrist in vice grip holding him in place before he bit into the man's neck drinking until the last of their attackers eyes rolled back and he let the man go to hit the ground with a thud, the rise and fall of his chest mking clear he was still alive.

Adrenaline. It rushed her veins as she felt him hold her in his vein protectively, his hands still rubbing against her as if he were trying to ease her despite the very obvious fact to her that they were indeed not alone. She could hear their footsteps. Even their heart beats. They were steady. As if they were trained killers. That was the feeling that she got. It scared her. She could feel her own heart beat begin to race, pounding within her chest as she attempted to warn him in case he was unable to recognize their presences. "Things are going to be okay." She wanted to believe him. His reassurance. Yet as she heard the footsteps growing closer and closer, she couldn't help but fear that they were brutally outnumbered. Even in the best of cases, she wasn't sure that Ivory could take on that many others. After all, she was practically a dead weight for him to protect. She wanted to protect herself and yet she knew that wasn't something she was capable of. Even though she had the stick, she knew that it would only last a few hits before she was pulled into deeper harm. She swallowed and looked at him, smiling weakly as if to reassure him that she wasn't afraid. He wasn't buying it. "Don't worry, I'm not going to let them get close enough to you that you'll have to use that." She nodded meekly before tightening her fingers around the stick, ignoring the fact that her knees were already starting to shake as she waited anxiously for them to come into sight. This was an ambush. Whoever this was, they were coming with the intention of fighting. With the intention... she wasn't sure. Were they burglars? Simple bandits who wanted to steal what little they had off of their backs? Or was this a well strategized attack? One that someone had hired them for? She had not the time to ponder the truth to this situation and yet that didn't stop her from hesitating, her eyes widening as she heard them grow closer to the edge of the clearing, only a second passing bef

ore she watched Ivory launch his dagger into the first man. It had been quick. Faster than she could even entirely have expected from him. While she knew he was strong, she hadn't expected this sort of battle readiness. She swallowed and nodded, moving behind him so that she was protected. She would not be a dead weight, that was what she decided. And while she certainly couldn't protect herself, the least that she could do was to stay behind him so that he didn't have to worry about her. She didn't want to make him worry. The fight went fast. Fast. His battle moved at a pace that Aria was entirely unused to, her eyes widening as she watched the last man fall to the ground. She swallowed and looked down at him, "H-He's unconscious right?" She asked hesitantly, stepping out from behind Ivory hesitantly before looking up at him. "A-Are we going to uh... interrogate him or... find out why he attacked us...?" She asked with a nervous voice, her words wavering and breaking as she spoke. She was clearly still on edge, her heart racing as she felt the adrenaline rushing through her veins. @All time Jack

Even once the fight was over, he was still high strung and ready to fight. His muscles were tense and taut, waiting for more to come. Expecting more to come. He expected more people to show up, but as he looked around, he knew that there was no sign of anyone else. He couldn’t smell them; he couldn’t hear any other heartbeats. He couldn’t sense them. And if he did trust one thing about him it was his senses. They were the one thing that he felt like he could rely on growing up, they felt like the only thing he could trust, and so he honed them. It was his senses and his experience with her that allowed him to be able to tell so clearly that she was scared. And he wanted nothing more than to cheer her up. He wanted to make her feel safe, to feel as if no one would be able to hurt her. Or touch her. He wanted to keep her safe, she was his to protect, he wanted nothing more than to spend every day m1king her feel safe. “They are all unconscious; I can still hear their heartbeats. There is going to be a while before they’ll be at full strength still.” He told her watching as she stood in front of him able to hear the way that her heart raced before his arms wrapped her hips from behind and he used his grip on her body to pull her body against his chest. “We can eat for now; food should be done cooking by now. How about you check on the fish and I’ll deal with them.” He suggested to her softly his lips kissing her cheek. “I grabbed rope before we left, so I’ll make sure that they’ll be unable to speak or walk.” He whispered before he used his grip on her hips to turn her around making her face him. “I love you. I meant it when I said that I would protect you.” He promised before he kissed her, his lips claiming hers with a short but passionate kiss before he broke their kiss. “Now just make sure they don’t burn please, and I’ll take care of them.” He whispered his lips pressing against the soft skin of her neck, gently nibbling on her soft skin until she walk

Trouble. Aria couldn't wash away the feeling that they were in trouble. Even after they were entirely finished fighting, she couldn't ease her heart from the racing that it was currently doing. After all, it was obvious that these people had been prepared to fight. Prepared to cause harm to one of them. And while he had easily fought them, that didn't mean it would stop at just this. Was there a reason they had attacked? Would they continue to be in danger should they continue on this journey? It worried her in a way that she couldn't entirely wash away. Feeling him pull her towards his chest, Aria let out a shaky gasp and stepped backwards as she was pulled to press against him. "I... I know... but are you sure it's safe?" She asked, turning her head over her shoulder to look up at him. "W-why do you think that they attacked us?" She bit her lip, anxious at the idea that someone else had sent them. Anxious at the idea that someone wanted to bring harm to them. "Could... they be related to the guards from the city?" She questioned, her gaze falling slightly as she worried herself of the potential causes of such an attack. It seemed that while he was attempting to ease her anxiety, she was still overly worried about the cause of their attackers. She swallowed and looked down at the food with a frown. She had lost her appetite. "Right..." She nodded softly, her eyebrows furrowed as she was shifted to face him, his gaze caring. She hated to worry him but his confidence worried her. She couldn't help but worry that this was the beginning of a rather dangerous journey. "That's a good idea... when they awaken... should we question them?" She asked him, her gaze uneasy. "See... why they were going to attack us.... they didn't look like regular ole bandits to me...." She frowned, looking at him anxiously. His lips broke her gaze.
