Vestraz is a high class demon. She was widely known for how violent she is, bodies and blood trailing every step she took. She was ruthless, never caring about who or what she was hurting. Everyone knew the reason, the classic origin story of most demons with her caliber of anger, one who was once human, sacrificed and thrown away by humanity. Vestraz was the type of person everyone would cower away from when she walked by, her head held high, her long, damaged black wings standing proudly on her back, the one feature of herself she would never show outside of hell. Heaven and he'll we're currently in the middle of a war, it had been brewing for centuries, but finally the line between good and evil had been drawn. The sides of 'dark' and 'light' in a seemingly never ending battle. They all had their own reasons for fighting the battles they were. Vestraz was the type of person you'd call to handle a fight you didn't want to, or didn't think you could. Which is what led her to where she was now. Vestraz was currently in the weaponry room. Getting ready for the one fight no one else wanted to take on. Instead of her normal cropped tanktop and shorts, she was wearing tactical black jeans with a black tanktop tucked into it. Securing a holster around her thigh and waist, both equipped with an Angel blade. Making sure she'd have everything she needed. She straightened her back, rolling her shoulder out as her wings stood proudly on her back, making her way towards the gates, taking a deep, dreaded breath. The journey out of hell was always a painful one, she wasn't allowed to have her wings on earth, so they had to... adjust so the wings were hidden. Despite them trying multiple times to hide Vestraz horns it never worked, so she was allowed to keep them.

Once she arrived at the gate she showed the warden her pass. Soon she apostates, a silent scream tearing its way through her lungs as she felt her wings retract, once she arrived on earth her body slowly came into view once she realized no one was around, letting out a small grunt as she rubbed at where her wings previously met her body, standing up to her full stature as she cracked her neck, moving towards where she knew the angel would be. @idgafashlee

Thoughts scattered her mind as she walked around aimlessly, the gravel crunching on the ground beneath her which each step she took. She’d been on earth for 6 months now, she hadn’t returned to heaven since Archangel Michael sent her to fight in the war, the end of the fighting was no where in sight. Seraphina wasn’t a fighter at heart, she never had been. She lived a lifestyle of peace and bliss, being taught to pass on the word of the lord, help others, and above all else show kindness. She let out a soft sigh as she turned off the beaten path and veered into the woods. She missed heaven, but she was proud of the work she was doing on earth, and determined to make a difference. Deployed by the archangels to put an end to the demons tyrant on earth, she would exhaust every option possible to protect God’s creations. She looked down at the ground as she walked through the wooded area, although she preferred using her wings, she would play by her the rules of her God when walking on his playground, and her wings would not be used here. She paused momentarily as she noticed the blood stain on her boot. “One hundred and twelve” she said softly under her breath. One hundred and twelve demons that she had unsuccessfully tried to turn away from the devil, resulting in their subsequent deaths. Seraphina wasn’t a killer, or at least she didn’t want to be. Death was never the goal, but instead persuasion, and enlightenment away from the devil. Unfortunately many demons we’re extremely hesitant to give up their power, and in exchange for their refusal, after exhausting all other possible options, ultimately Seraphina understood her assignment would mean ending their lives. She was calm in the moment, enjoying a quiet and crisp morning, things seemed peaceful, but she would never be so naive. She was alert, despite her demeanor looking calm on the outside, she scanned her environment intensively, listening to every sound that stirred in the woods. She trusted her intuiti

Vestraz steps were quiet as she walked through the woods, every single step she took was calculated, she knew the angel could sense her, they always seemed to know when a demon was around. Vestraz tipped her nose up to smell the air, her eyes flashing a deep red when she smelt demon blood, jackpot, she had officially known where the angel was, now to try to sneak up on her was a totally different challenge. She had been warned about them, that they were not to be underestimated, even despite their sweet behavior. She slowly stepped further into the woods, looking around until she spotted the target, the angel she had been sent here to take out, the angel has been wiping out the demon ranks recently, all of them slowly dropping like flies, setting themselves up to be lamb to the slaughter. She followed in the angels shadow, trying hard ti stay out of sight, to examine her and try to find any weak points, as she did, she tipped her head, were angels not allowed to have their wings in earth either? She quickly shook that thought from her head. She couldn't risk getting distracted by such silly details. Once she saw the angel stop walking she came to an abrupt halt, a low girls threatening to tear it's way through her throat, her horns tingling at such a close proximity to an Angel, or as she always heard them referred to 'a light one'. They're sworn enemies since the beginning of time. Slowly Vestraz stepped out of the shadows, her skin figure standing to its full height, despite the fact she knew this might be tough, she held her head high. "Hello, angel" she spat, the venom and hatred clear as day in her tone, her eyes were glowing their normal vibrant red, her strong, red horns standing proudly on her head. Trying to remind herself not to act on the spot. A small smirk overtaking her face, now eye to eye with the woman. @idgafashlee

Seraphina felt the presence of the demon growing stronger, the power to sense evil was both a blessing and a curse bestowed to her by the archangel, but she would gladly use it to her advantage in this war. Her eyes gleamed softly as her scanning stopped, knowing her enemy was nearing, she felt a sense of calm and security. Her eyes slowly scanned the shadow as the demon revealed itself, her eyes meeting those of her enemies as they spoke. She lifted her head high, turning to properly face the woman as she spoke, Seraphina was optimistically hopeful that the day would not result in death. “So you finally reveal yourself.” Seraphina took a step closer, the crunching of leaves piercing the air as she placed one foot in front of the other before her. She took in the demons appearance, her dark black hair and piercing red eyes, her large horns curled backwards and were spiked. What stood out to Seraphina the most was the smirk on her face, no sign of fear anywhere on her face, the demon felt it was right to smile in this moment. “Lurking in the shadows surely cannot serve one well for long,” she continued, making it known that Seraphina had been aware of the woman’s presence all along. She took another small step forward, tempting fate itself. She was ready for anything, whether that be attack or retreat. “But I suppose that’s not what you’re here to talk about. I’m Seraphina, a disciple of Archangel Michael.” @Eli

Vestraz let out a small growl as she watched the woman step closer, a warning to stop where she was. Her horns buzzing on her head was starting to irritate her; she hadn't been in close proximity with many angels, and the sensation was driving her mad. The smirk was still not leaving her face; she couldn't show even a slight sign of weakness, not in a situation like this, not with an angel that was known to be wiping out the demon race. "It is indeed not what I came here to talk about." She looked the woman up and down, her brow quirking.   "I'm Vestraz, mercenary of hells knights." She spoke simply; her voice carried throughout the empty space; it was rough, dripping with venom, but it had a soft undertone, indicating that at one point she wasn't just a ruthless demon; most purebred demons had deep voices, ones that naturally encoded fear. Vestraz had spent centuries trying to even come close to how their voices sounded. She tilted her head softly, her eyes narrowing the slightest amount, hardly noticeable if you weren't paying attention.   She slowly began to move, walking around seraphina, almost as if she were stalking her. "You've been wiping out my species like clockwork. Word around the block is you've been trying to convert us."   She had heard the whispers of this angel; if she couldn't convert them away from Satan, she would kill them—quite gruesome if you asked Vestraz. Then again, she wasn't in any position to talk given her track record. Normally Vestraz would've attacked by now, but there was something about the woman that made her not want to, only wanting to fight if seraphina decided to make the move. She slowly stopped in front of the woman. Looking down at her, her red eyes bore into hers. "Let me guess? God will forgive us, huh? Cleanse us of our sins." It was clear she was mocking her. @idgafashlee

"Mercenary..." Seraphina quietly muttered under her breath, it was obvious that this demon clearly hadn't been sent simply to chat with her. The demons were sending hell knights now. Her eyes tracked Vestraz every movement as the demon slowly circled around her. Seraphina's demeanor remained collected despite the tensions flaring, she was hopeful for a good outcome with each interaction she had, even if it was naive of her. "I'm no killer." She quickly spat back at Vestraz' comment. "Angels are not mercenaries sent to kill and wipe out species, but I have a duty to fulfill." Her brow furrowed, and her voice gave off a slight tone of hurt. She didn't like being what the demon was insinuating she was. Seraphina was a civil servant, sent to this realm to help the humans - killing was just part of the job, not who she was. She cleared her voice and shook her head softly, she was picking up on the sarcasm but would continue to play nicely. Her thoughts rattled around in her mind, her intuition and compassion fighting for the space in her brain as she put together the puzzle pieces. Her voice. Her voice was not that of a normal demon, low and raspy, void of any and all emotion. Vestraz voice had a subtle softness to it as she spoke with crisp and short sentences. She was not always a demon, she was converted. "God will only forgive those whom repent their sins, who feel regret and desire mercy, no natural born demon is capable of showing remorse..." her voice trailed off, her eyes gleaming at the demons as she thought to herself, 'but you're not that... are you?' "So Vestraz, a mercenary of hells knight, what brings you here today then?" Seraphina could only assume the demon wasn't here for idle chat but she was interested in hearing the response. She'd heard various excuses from the demons, that their meeting was 'all coincidence', or even that the demons were 'here to preach the gospel of the devil'. So Seraphina anxiously awaited a potentially entertaining r

"Oh you're no killer?" Her eyes trailed down to the blood that was still lingering in the woman's body. "How do you explain knocking out entire army's of demons then huh? Setting them free?" She growled, her eyes flaring bright red for a moment before going back to their normal deep red. Everyone knew mercenary's were wildly protective of their 'troops', and now this angel had killed countless of Vestraz's. "You're a killer, the same as the rest of us, being an Angel doesn't protect you from that title." She heard the unspoken words in seraphina's tone, knew that she was never very good at hiding the fact she wasn't a purebred demon. She tilted her head softly as she listened to the woman speak, laughing softly, though there was no humor on her face, just a naturally unsettling blank stare. "See just like you, I have a duty to carry out, orders I'm meant to follow, and it seems you've caught the attention of the big down downstairs, nice going by the way, he's not as merciful." She had orders to kill the angel, to wipe her out before she could continue wiping them out. But she wouldn't do that, no not yet, she liked to have fun with it beforehand. Vestraz was getting irritated, the buzzing of her horns, along with the angels 'holier than thou attitude was going to make the demon attack far sooner than she normally does, her hand slowly making its way to rest against her angel blade, ready to pull it out at a moments notice, her fingers subtly flexing against the handle. "So tell me, seraphina, your 'god' as you refer to him, does he prefer his angels returned in smaller pieces or in one piece?" Something about the way she asked the question sent a chill through the air. Vestrazs presence commanded the attention, the fear that came with every single threat she made. @idgafashlee

The words stung as they left the mouth of the demon, she never wanted to kill, but she was always left with no choice. She stumbled over her words as the demon doubled down on painting her to be something she never wanted to be. Her veins felt like there was fire running through them as her heart felt stone cold at the words spoken, 'You're a killer, the same as the rest of us'. She gritted her teeth, her eyes narrowing as she felt anger building inside of her, she was not what the demon was making her out to be. Seraphina watched the demon's every movement, picking up on the subtlety of the changes in her body language, Vestraz was growing frustrated quickly. She watched as the demon's hand slowly moved to grab something at her waistband, surely the weapon she would use in an attempt to kill Seraphina. She shook her head softly at the demon's final comment, her demeanor still calm and relaxed despite the demon's threat to kill her. "If you're here to kill me, then what is stopping you? Go ahead." Her words were not threatening or that of someone trying to taunt another. Her voice was gentle and harmonious, she was simply posing a question to provoke thought. "I can help you Vestraz. We can help each other." Her voice was soothing, these were not words of an individual pleading for her life, but rather she truly believed that these two could help each other. "This war does not have to continue... not like this." She took a step closer to the demon, tempting fate and possibly angering the demon more but she was hopeful that the two could see eye to eye on this. Something about this demon felt different, and Seraphina was determined to find a compromise that wouldn't end in bloodshed. @Eli

Vestraz smirked as she noticed the woman getting irritated, that's exactly what she wanted, to get seraphina riled up, Vestraz fed on negative energy after all. A small frown overtook her face when the anger quickly dissipated, though she quickly covered it up with a deadpanned look again, damn angels and their ability to regulate their emotions. Seeing that her words about killing the angel didn't strike fear in her she tightened her jaw, her shoulders rolling softly. She missed her mark on that one. She chose to ignore the comment, she didn't know what was stopping her or what she was waiting for. She couldn't answer that question, though she had a feeling that was her humanity trying to make an appearance. Her head tipped to the side softly, as much as she tried to hide it you could tell she was curious, watching every step seraphina took towards her. "And how do you suggest we can help each other, what? Is it time to preach the lords message to me already?" She growled, though she was curious what the woman had to say, her mind running a million miles a minute with all the possibilities. Even though they were just talking, Vestraz kept her hand on her angel blade, if not for anything other than the security and safety it gave her. She could hear the voices of her superiors in her head, telling her to get it over with, to just kill them already, but beyond that, she heard a voice she hasn't heard in centuries, her own voice... her human voice, screaming at her that this person was good, that she should hear the woman out because she could help, but she quickly shook that thought from her head. Perhaps that was why none of the demons had ever sent her to fight an Angel, her human past still there, even if a small part, perhaps they knew being around someone who spoke so softly, who reminded her of the good of humanity was too risky. She took a slow step towards seraphina, it was a small one, but the distance was still noticeable. @idgafashlee

Seraphina picked up on the fact that the demon had chosen not to answer her initial question, what are you hiding? she wondered. All of the other demons had attempted to attack her by now, but this one was different, why? She shook her head softly as emotions coursed through her veins, feelings of compassion and servitude, she wanted to help Vestraz, she knew she could help Vestraz. She felt a small sting in her stomach, an emotion she had never felt before and didn't yet understand. These two met by fate, she was sure of that, but she was trying to understand what brought them together. Attraction... That was a feeling Seraphina hadn't felt before, something she was feeling now. She had usually put herself above such idle feelings, she loved and served all things in this world equally, but there was something about Vestraz, something more. "Drop the blade Vestraz, please. Let's just talk." her face was soft with a hint of concern, and her voice was understanding and gentle. "Help me understand. Why do the demons take from the less fortunate? Attack those who are vulnerable and innocent? Offer corrupt deals to those whom truly need help?" She wasn't ridiculing or interrogating the demon, but truly trying to understand the actions she'd consistently seen from other demons. She'd picked up on the demon moving closer to her, no matter how small the step, Seraphina sensed her moving closer, was this a sense of comfortability? Or simply the demon moving in to make her kill? Her expression softened, but her senses were absolutely tingling. She had hope, a feeling of possibilities. The possibility of the two of them finding a way to end this war with far less bloodshed. Maybe she was mistaken in her hopeful feelings, maybe this demon was more deceiving than most, but only time would tell. @Eli

It was clear Vestraz was on edge, her inner, once human voice now fighting with those of her superiors. Much like the war happening around them, she was fighting an internal one, to listen to her past self or to carry out orders as she was told, she had never failed a mission, there was never an order that wasn't carried out.. but hearing her human voice... after centuries? That had to be a sign. She slowly took the blade out of her thigh holster, her knuckles turning white from the grip on it, the conflict was evident in her eyes, she could either attack now, possibly ending the angels very existence, or she could drop it. She went with the latter, the blade slowly dropping from her heaps and clambering down into the grass below their feet. She let out a shakey breath as she listened to seraphina's questions. Trying to decide what to answer first, at the mention of corrupt deals Vestraz visibly cringed, her muscles going tight, but she quickly recovered. "Not all of us attack innocents..." she spoke, her voice now a tad softer, thought it still carried the deep, eerie edge to it. It was true, Vestraz was one of the few who didn't attack innocent humans, she could never bring herself to, as she was once the innocent human caught in the crossfire. "I can't explain why we take from those who are less fortunate than us, it's like... how you're hardwired to be good, to spread the word of your master, it's just something that's in us" it was clear Vestraz was again avoiding one of seraphina's questions, though this time not for lack of knowing, corrupt deals were simply just a very, very sore subject for her.
5:05 PM
Vestraz slowly took another small step forward, as if showing a sign of trust, she had no weapon in her hand, she was trying her hardest to show vulnerability, her body language betraying just how hard this was for her. After a moment she decided it was time to ask questions of her own, she had answered some of the questions seraphina had asked, she felt she deserved to get some answers of her own. "Why do all angels think they're better than us?" She asked, it wasn't meant as an attack, Vestraz was just never very good at wording things in a nice way, another trait she had picked up from her many years as a demon. She took a deep breath, thinking of how to reword her question "I get it, demons aren't the best species, we're rude, vicious, and brutal, but why do some angels get excused for things a demon would get slaughtered for?" She was genuinely curious, her whole life she had seen angels get away with stuff a demon would be executed for. Was it just simply their species that made them more forgivable? "And before you say it's because angels have remorse... so do some demons you know... some of my brothers and sisters that I've had to watch die, they had remorse, so what made it so okay for them to be slaughtered for the same acts your species commits?" @idgafashlee

A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips as the blade dropped to the ground below this, making a soft clanking sound as it hit the grass. She exhaled softly, feeling the tension between her shoulders finally release, she no longer felt on edge or ready for an attack. Seraphina's eyes searched Vestraz, she felt hopeful, and she could see the kind in the demon's eyes. She watched as Vestraz took another step in, the gap between the two closing more and more with each step. She appreciated the willingness the demon was showing to communicate with her, and although Seraphina knew she wouldn't ever entirely understand why the demons did what they did, she felt she had a better understanding already. Despite not all of Seraphina's questions being answered, she didn't care, the two were making progress, trusting one another, and showing a willingness to work together, and that's what mattered. Seraphina nodded as Vestraz spoke, not only listening to the words she was saying but also understanding. "Not all angels believe that they're better than demons either you know?" She answered calmly, much like the response Vestraz had given to her. Despite what many believed, the angels did not believe that they were perfect. In fact, most understood that they were inherently imperfect. Each angel was flawed, but what they all had in common was their desire to be better, to do better, and to help those in need. The humans were God's most precious creation, but also God's creation that was most vulnerable, and most times helpless, so the angels always held it of high priority to protect and help them.
6:29 PM
"We want to help people above all, we still have our flaws and imperfections, and we don't believe we're any greater than any other creations. We just hold ourselves to a high standard." She continued explaining, that she knew there was nothing that would recuse murder in the eyes of many, but she and other angels took solace in knowing that they were only killing those deemed bad in the eyes of god, those who killed and preyed upon others. "I understand how it feels to lose the people close to you." She answered honestly, she knew that Vestraz was looking for answers that Seraphina could not give her, just the same as Seraphina was asking for more than Vestraz could begin to offer. "When an archangel gives you a task you complete it, when they ask something of you, you do it. Angels do not want to kill, we try to find ways to complete our tasks that don't require fighting, but that's not always possible is it?" She furrowed her brow, thinking of the countless lives she had taken, she didn't take pride in killing, even if it was killing the enemy, and it weighed heavy on her soul. She remembered her task at hand, finding an end to this war. "The next battle takes place in 3 days, as I'm sure you know. There will be heavy casualties on both sides, and I don't want to see you be one of the fallen. Help me find a way to end this." @Eli

Vestraz nodded at her words. 'Not all angels are the same' the thought had never occurred to her that she was grouping all the angels together, assuming they were all the same despite not wanting anyone else to do the same with demons. The thought made a rush of remorse run through her body, something she hadn't felt since she was human, but she quickly pushed it away. How the hell was this angel managing to make feelings she hadn't had in forever come back. Her eyes turned down a bit as seraphina said she knew what it was like to lose people close to her. The mention of her fallen brothers and sisters was a great loss Vestraz always carried with her. She blamed herself for every one of them, perhaps if she had trained them better, pushed them more. But she couldn't dwell on that, not now, there were larger things at stake here, a war on the brink of exploding. They didn't have long before both sides suffered great losses, before many lost the people they loved. At the mention of the war vestraz's posture straightened, raising to her full stature as she rolled her shoulder, her jaw tightening again as she pushed her vulnerability to the back of her mind where she kept it locked away. Her eyes searching Seraphina's as she spoke.. she felt a spark with this woman and it was driving her crazy, demons weren't supposed to have strong emotions... much less attraction, and especially with an Angel no less. "I don't see a way we can end this with no lives lost" she contemplated. "Both sides are fighting neck and neck, our species, they aren't meant to co-exist" she began pacing as she tried to think of ideas.
9:12 AM
Vestraz didn't want to lose anyone else she cared about , and if the fighting continued there would be anyone she cared about left. But beyond that... she didn't want to Seraphina get hurt, she was the first person to treat Vestraz like something more than a killing machine, to talk to her about something more than simply carrying out orders, and she wasn't ready to lose that, even if the two never met beyond this encounter, she would at least have the memory without it being overshadowed with the grief of the world losing this amazing angel. "Demons aren't willing to listen to the word of god... the most I can provide is potentially rallying the converted demons to try to help... im not sure how well this plan to get everyone to stop fighting will work, Seraphina" Vestraz's voice was now back to its normal tone, the softness gone, it was time to strategize, and she couldn't let her feelings get in the way of that, though there was a slight softness to her voice when she said the woman's name. @idgafashlee

She put her hands together, lacing her fingers together and squeezing tightly as her brain racked for information, she had found someone willing to work with her, now just how exactly would they put a stop to this war? She let out a soft sigh, Vestraz was right, there truly was no way to resolve things without bloodshed. Seraphina didn't want to lose any more of her comrades, and she knew Vestraz didn't want to lose any of hers. Would there ever truly be a way to stop the terror that the two rival groups ensued upon one another? "I know that the angels and demons will never see eye-to-eye, but if we can just put a lull to the constant fighting, maybe that'll be the start to an end?" She didn't have a set plan, she had ideas, but none of which she was fully certain of actually working. She searched her brain for new ideas, there had to be a way to stop the fighting, to end the war, and she was certain that if the two of them worked together they could find a solution. She didn't want to lose anyone else, she had to put an end to the bloodshed. "The angels will not preach to you, but if we see a decline in human lives taken, and demon deals made, I'm hopeful that I can convince the archangels to put an end to the constant battles." She knew it was a long shot, demons made deals, and that's just how it worked, but her higher-ups were playing a game of numbers, and they needed to see a decline in these deals. She let out another sigh, her breath misting in the cold air as her fingertips moved to her temples to rub them softly. "Rally your converted demons, get a head count, and protect those individuals. This next battle is inevitable, but if I can find you, I'm sure I can find a way to protect you and those willing to take my help." She felt a pit in her stomach like a knife was being twisted in her insides. She had just offered her help to the enemy team, she would be protecting the demons.
11:28 AM
A fear of dread washed over her, the words had left her mouth and she wouldn't be going back on it now. She would have to find a way to tread lightly at the next battle, if she was caught aiding and protecting the enemy team, the news would surely make its way back to Archangel Michael, but she couldn't bear the thought of Vestraz falling victim to this battle, and she would gladly try to help the others standing alongside her. A small smile formed across her lips as she heard Vestraz true voice, it had a subtle softness, void of the hardship that came with being a demon. "We can help each other Vestraz, I'm sure of it." She said with a small gleam in her eyes, her feet taking another step forward as her hand moved to the woman's shoulder and squeezed it softly for reassurance. They just had to get through this battle unscathed, and then they could work together to try to fizzle out the constant fights. "I'm not asking you not to fight, in fact, you should do what it takes to defend your life, but if we can get through this battle, we can try to make sure there's not a next one." Her hand lingered for a moment on her shoulder, a small feeling of electricity buzzing at her fingertips. @Eli

"That's the thing, seraphina, the deals don't depend on us, we only make deals when we are summoned, when we hear our names being called" she added. Demons couldn't make deals unless they were closed upon, unless someone wanted them there. They couldn't exist on the human realm without a purpose. "The loss of lives I will be able to help some... I can convince a few demons to not be so.... trigger happy" she nodded softly at seraphina's next words. She was eternally grateful, she knew better than anyone hoe bad it was to side with the enemy. As if sensing seraphina's dread she gave her best version of a smile (though it was more of a grimace) "if it comes down to it I'll protect you as well, no matter what it could cost me" there was a high possibility that cost could be her wings, her spot in hell, but she wanted to protect the woman standing infront of her. Vestraz's body tensed up at the contact at first, thinking seraphina was going to make a move, but she quickly relaxed when she realized that wasn't the case, feeling a shiver run through her veins at the close proximity. After a moment she felt the voices of her superiors in her head growing louder, her eyes flashing for a moment. "They're calling me... they don't sound too happy" she said, the slightest glint of fear showing in her eyes, her superiors didn't like it when she took longer than necessary. "Meet me here the day of the battle okay? I'll bring as many converted demons that are willing to help. Please lay low for the time being...." she was being risky, she was going to lie to her superiors and tell them the target had been eliminated, when after all, the target was no longer seraphinas target. She took a moment to look at the woman, her eyes examine her before she stepped back. Seraphina knew she couldn't begin to understand the complexities of Demon deals, she was only slowly gaining insight into how the demon hierarchy worked. She nodded slowly, her hand dropping from the woman's shoulder back to her side, convincing others to be less 'trigger happy' was a compromise and a win she was willing to take. "Just protect yourself, please." She called out as the woman backed away from her, being called to by her superiors and they would certainly had questions. Seraphina knew she had questions, how had this demon put her into such a trance? How did she feel she needed to protect Vestraz with her life when Seraphina had easily killed other demons without a second thought. She watched Vestraz slowly dissipate, leaving an empty spot where she once stood. A horrible feeling sank into Seraphina's gut, had she made a mistake working with the enemy? Was she caught up and overwhelmed by these feelings that she'd never felt before? Should she have seen past the attraction to remember the goal at hand? She pushed back her thoughts of confusion, she knew what she felt and she knew what was right, she would protect before harm. She wandered those same woods for the next three days, stuck alone in the thick forest with nothing but her thoughts to consume her. She tried to ease her mind, she needed to stop worrying and trust fate. She sat in the forest in the spot they'd first met the morning of the battle. It was still dark and the moon provided small beams of light through the heavily wooded forest as the sun began to peak from beneath the mountain edge.
6:17 PM
She let out a small breath as she felt the cool grass in her hands. Her eyes closed as she searched through her thoughts and prepared for the day. This battle was much more complex than the ones she'd fought in before, there was much more at stake this time around. She cleared her mind of any worry and trusted in God, as she had many times before. She knew the other angels would be arriving soon and she had to present as strong and focused. Above that she knew Vestraz and some of the converted demons would soon be arriving looking for answers. Her shoulders relaxed and her breathing slowed as she sensed another's presence. She turned as she felt a hand on her back, her eyes slowly opening to a familiar face she wasn't expecting. "Michael?" She said in disbelief, what was he doing here? And how soon would Vestraz and the other demons be arriving? He offered out his hand and she took it, quickly pulling herself to her feet, her mind was racing faster than it had ever been before, as if things weren't stressful enough, archangel Michael was now here. "We have a battle to win soon, don't prepare yourself for too long." His words were soft yet firm, as a small smile hinted over his lips. Seraphina nodded softly, keeping her calm composure on the outside when her head was spinning and she felt like she may pass out. "Yes sir." She said with a nod, her voice confident, she had to seem ready, even if she was not.

Vestraz had been holed up in her room since her meeting with seraphina. Her plan had worked, the higher ranking demons believed the angel had been wiped out, seraphina and Vestraz were safe.... for now. They still had a tough battle to fight, Vestraz praying the two of them would make it out of this so they could find a way to reverse the war that had started, raining bloodshed on both species. Sooner than she would've like it was the day for the battle, she was a mercenary so she got to pick the battle team she would have, and as promised it was comprised of all converted demons, ones who didn't want this war to go on more than the rest of them. The 'good demons' as Vestraz liked to call them. They all slowly walked to the main gate to the overworks, Vestraz leading her team to go meet seraphina, but of course no one knew that, they all assumed she wanted to prepare for battle sooner than she normally did.
7:25 PM
. Eventually they got apostates to earth, landing exactly in the same spot her and seraphina had previously met.... Vestraz didn't see a need to hide this time, she knew the angel was expecting her... but what she wasn't expecting was there to be two angels standing there, Vestraz's once calm face turned deadly as her eyes glowed a bright red, her eyes moving from the higher up angel- who she assumed could only be Michael- and seraphina, the betrayal in the demons eyes was palpable, the hatred she once had returning to her body. From where Vestraz and her demons were standing, this very much looked like a set up. She hadn't been warned about any other people joining, let alone an archangel. 'she set you up Vestraz, this is what you get for trusting someone' the voice in her head spoke. All the demons were now on guard, ready to attack, and Vestraz wasn't stopping them. She had been played like a fool. All the precious softness Vestraz held in her eyes for the angel was now gone, replaced with a million other emotions, none of which meant anything good. Despite the pang of hurt she felt in her stomach she held her head high. The same as she had done for centuries. 'feelings are your weakness Vestraz' her superiors words repeated in her head, and for once she believed them. "You set us up, you set me up?" *she growled, her gaze looking straight past the archangel, focusing directly on seraphina, her body practically vibrating with the rage she was holding, taking a slow, dangerous step towards the angel. @idgafashlee

She felt her heart sink as the demons walked through the clearing, she thought she had more time... this couldn't be how this all started. She looked into the eyes of the demon she had once found common ground with, someone she was growing closer to and wanted to protect, as the eyes moved closer the subtlety of kindness was void, all she saw now was rage. "No..." she muttered softly, shaking her head at the demon who now wanted nothing more than her blood. She wanted to explain herself, needed to explain herself, but how could she with Michael right there? Before she could even react Michael was no longer by her side. He stood beside one of the demons in Vestraz's pack, his demon blade sunk deep into their torso as blood spilled from the penetrating wound he had created. He had struck first, struck to kill, and any chance of reconciliation was null and void at that moment. She drew her blade, tears gently brimming her eyes as she realized the only way she would be leaving this forest alive was to fight for her life, all of her work had unraveled in front of her before she even got the chance to put the pieces together. She exhaled softly, gripping her blade tightly in her hand as she watched Michael do what Michael did best, massacre demons. He wiped out the entirety of their backline before she could even fully process what had happened. She'd almost forgotten the power of an archangel, the power of Michael, his speed and strength were unmatched by any enemy he'd met in battle, and he certainly had an unfair advantage over converted demons with a minor semblance of humanity left in them. He was all-powerful, and he made that known as he began to wipe out the pact before them before most could even react.
7:50 PM
Seraphina had brought them here to be massacred, without even realizing her hope to do good would do more harm. She wondered if Michael had been watching her every move, if he knew what she was planning and he was putting a stop to it before it could begin, his visit this morning couldn't be a coincidence. Her eyes still locked onto Vestraz, ready for the demon's next move, her breathing slow and steady as she gripped the blade in her hand. She didn't want to fight Vestraz, she couldn't bear the thought of killing her, but would she have a choice? She slowly began to sidestep, circling around as the chaos of Michael unleashed around them, her heart sank at the destruction she'd somehow caused. "I'm sorry." She whispered it was barely audible, but she'd hoped the message would get through to her, not that her apology would matter now, as Seraphina had unknowingly led them right into a deadly trap. @Eli

Vestraz's eyes quickly moved, watching her people be slaughtered right in-front of her, coincidentally the same ones seraphina had asked her to rally. If anyone was listening they could hear a quiet whimper leave Vestraz lips. Her eyes went wide with rage as she looked over to seraphina again, her hand gripping tightly to her angel blade, the one she had originally dropped as a sign of trust for the angel was now a sign of threat, a sign of enemies. Despite her obvious anger there were a couple tears running down her cheeks, her anger only growing as she saw the tears in seraphina's eyes "NO, you don't get to cry. This is your doing, this is what you wanted isn't it?" She growled, stalking closer to the woman. "And they say demons are deceitful and cruel, but demons? They have nothing on you seraphina" her words dripping like venom through the air, slicing the thread of any sort of alliance the two of them had. She wanted the woman to feel even a slice of the pain she was holding right now. She had unknowingly led her troops, her friends into a death trap, one that she was tricked into by someone she thought was after the same thing as her. She growled softly, her knuckles turning white with the right grip she had in the handle of the blade, her eyes not returning to their normal color, staying their bright red. She felt her back starting to ache, her wings threatening to break through, something that always happened when she was angry.
8:08 PM
"Don't you dare apologize... don't you dare" the guilt was eating Vestraz up. Her people falling around her because of seraphina's actions. She wanted to cry, to scream at seraphina for risking many demons life who never did anything wrong. For risking her life. She slowly shook that thought from her head. She had a job to do, and this time? She would fail her task of taking this angel out. All her rational thoughts now clouded by the overwhelming hatred she now held for the woman in-front of her. But in true Vestraz fashion she wanted to make her 'prey' hurt mentally before she physically hurt them. "Look around Seraphina, are you proud of yourself? These lives are on your hands" she growled, soon she couldn't take it anymore. Beginning to charge towards the angel. Bringing her blade down to go for a stomach hit.... @idgafashlee

She quickly pushed her tears and unforgiving thoughts away, listening to the words screamed at her as bodies dropped to the ground around them. A million responses bounced around in her head, this is never what I wanted, this wasn't the plan, I would have never set you up, this was never my intention, but she remained silent, not a sound leaving her lips as her face stiffened. Her once somber and distressed look turned into a face that revealed nothing, she anxiously pushed her thoughts out of her mind, telling herself that none of that mattered now, survival mattered now. Maybe Seraphina was all of those things, deceitful, cruel, and no different than any of the other demons. Maybe that was the angel that Michael wanted her to be. She remained silent as the demon taunted her, purposefully saying things to make Seraphina feel remorseful, Vestraz just wanted a reaction from her, but Seraphina had played this game one too many times with a demon. She pushed the hurt deep down, refusing to react and give her what she wanted, her face remained a clean slate, giving nothing of her inner emotion away. She steadied herself, letting out a soft breath as the demon charged her, Seraphina scanned every ounce of the demon's strike, as she'd done many times before. She quickly sidestepped, her arm sweeping beneath Vestraz's arm as the demon went for a blow to the stomach. She quickly stepped back from the demon, avoiding the initial attack and realizing the seriousness of the situation had finally become a reality. She let her wings unravel from her back, the soft white feathers outstretching around her and unfolding into a comfortable position quickly, as she gently picked herself up off the ground, hovering only inches above it. Having just a moment of time as the demon likely prepared her next attack, Seraphina quickly scanned her surroundings, realizing there was no one left other than them. Bodies scattered the dark forest, blood flowing between the leaves and soft

Vestraz let out a grunt of annoyance as the angel dodge her attack, watching as her wings broke free from her back. She stood back for a moment, contemplating the next move she could make that the angel wouldn't be expecting, she knew the one weakspot both angels and demons had in common, their wings... wings were a very sensitive part of the body, they carried many nerve endings, if Vestraz could just find a way to get behind seraphina she could take the upper hand. Normally not even Vestraz would go for such a low blow, but now she was standing face to face with the person who had planned a trap to cause many deaths, after just three days ago working with Vestraz for a way to end the bloodshed. Vestraz began circling Seraphina, her eyes locked on the angels every move, trying to find any other weak points, any other way to get the upper hand. But she didn't see one, guess she'd have to go for plan A, trying to get to the woman's wings, even if to just graze them to buy her enough time to subdue the angel. She decided to go for the one thing no angel could resist, emotions.. "I trusted you" Vestraz growled, her voice still deep and dripping with venom, but there was an underlying tone of betray and hurt in her tone. Tears making their way down her cheeks once again. "I put my faith in you.... but you don't care do you? All demons deserve death right?" She felt a surge of hurt go through her heart as she spoke the words, but quickly reminded herself this show was just to distract Seraphina just enough. Take away her guard in the slightest to get to her one weak point. Her angel blade still gripped tightly in her hand. Though, there was some truth to what she was saying, she truly had put a lot of trust in her. "I wasn't born a demon you know, I was sacrificed... you remind me a lot of the people who sacrificed me, except they didn't leave me in with a false facade of an Angel" she added, her eyes narrowing slightly at Seraphina, the way she was trying to manip

She held back her emotions, knowing that Vestraz was trying to break her spirit in all of this. Her wings continued to sway softly, keeping her feet above the ground as she fiddled with the blade in her hand. She only trying to hurt you emotionally. she reminded herself, these demons would play vicious games, and as if it wasn’t enough to strike someone physically, the demons would always try to leave a mental mark too. She continued circling slowly, awaiting her next move as the demon continued her verbal rampage. “This was not my plan, I would have never set you up, not that you’ll ever believe me.” Her voice was void of emotion, despite every word she said being true. Seraphina wanted to drop to her knees before her, bear her soul to the demon she’d caused irreversible harm to, she wanted to apologize and amend her mistakes, but she knew it was too late. “I did not know Michael was watching me, I didn’t have any idea he’d appear here today.” She continued explaining, despite knowing it was an entirely lost caused. Her voice was monotone, with the slightest touch of hurt, she’d so quickly broken the trust she worked hard to gain. She felt the pit in her stomach grow as the demon reached to wipe the tears she had shed, Seraphina’s soul felt like it had been crushed, maybe she truly was the monster in all of this. She let her feet softly drop to the ground as her head began buzzing once more, but it was different this time. The battle, it was beginning, and not far from where the two of them were, fleets of angels and demons were moving towards one another. “I know you think this is all my fault, and maybe it is. But my intention was never to hurt anyone, especially you Vestraz.” @Eli

It was clear Vestraz didn't fully believe Seraphina's plea that she truly didn't mean to set her up. It had all the workings of s trap, but the other side of her was screaming to remember the look of dread on the angels face when the demons appeared in the trees. They were at battle, one side saying the dread was how Vestraz would react, while the other was saying to kill her and get it over with. Much like the war that was happening not far from them, the demon was fighting her own inner war, her two sides battling and she honestly wasn't sure which one would win. She watched as Seraphina's feet touched the ground, tilting her head in confusion, using her wings to fly would give the angel a clear advantage, Vestraz not yet mad enough for her wings to tear their way through her skin. Her eyes softened a bit, barely noticeable, but it was there she took a moment to look around at the fallen demons. Their blood beginning to stain the once pure soil of the forest. The war was getting louder behind them. Vestraz looked firm the clearing back to Seraphina, this time her tone wasn't one that would indicate manipulation, she just needed Seraphina to know how she felt. "I trusted you...." she said softly, her grip on her angel blade loosening slightly, but not enough so it would clatter to the ground below their feet.
10:32 PM
She slowly backed away from the angel, keeping her eyes on her before bending down to close all the demons eyes, she figured since she led them into a trap that costed them their lives, she might as well give them at least that respect. She knew the action would show her humanity, many demons would just leave their fallen comrades to die, but that wasn't Vestraz, far from it. "they trusted you, Seraphina... they were ready to get out of the life of being damned and you aided in their slaughter..." she knew Seraphina was practically innocent aside from leading Michael to them... but her rational thoughts had all been wiped away, replaced with nothing but guilt and anger. The more she thought about it the more angry she got. Her wings soon breaking through her skin, raising proudly behind her, though they were damaged- some feathers on them missing- she held them high. She let out an angry sigh. "I won't kill you Seraphina, that would be much more mercy than this act has granted you, making you live with this is the real torture isn't it?" She spoke as she stood from the bodies of the fellow demons. Wiping her hand off on her battle suit. "I thought we could end this war together... I had faith in you, and I was let down... now I have to go save any of my fellow Conrads from being murdered, you should probably do the same" She soon spread her wings, her body lifting off the ground as she took a long glance at the angel, wondering if this would be the last time they saw each other. "Until we meet again" she added before soaring off towards the area of the battle, determined to use her rage to take out as many angels as possible and protect as many fellow demons as she could. No matter who stood in her way. If she couldn't bring herself to kill Seraphina... why not repay the favor by wiping out an equal amount of angels? @idgafashlee

Seraphina knew she should feel grateful for the fact alone that Vestraz hadn’t taken the opportunity to strike her once again. Being able to stand before her was a great task in and of itself. Seraphina watched as Vestraz’s eyes scanned their surroundings, her fallen brothers and sisters, soaked in blood. The forest felt still for in that moment, as Seraphina silently mourned the fallen, but the clatter of the battle beginning nearby quickly soured the serene moment. “I’m so sorry, I did not mean for this to happen.” She spoke softly as she watched the demon crouch down to put her family members to rest. Seraphina felt more guilt than she’d ever felt before. She’s taken countless lives and never felt remorseful, so why did she feel regrets now for lives she hadn’t even physically taken? She tried to push back the human emotions she was feeling, how was it possible some demon she’d only met was making her feel such things? They were practically strangers to one another. Vestraz was the thing Seraphina swore to destroy, and yet she wanted nothing more than to protect and comfort her in this moment. Her eyes narrowed as the wings of the demon ripped free from the skin of her back, a look of shock taking over her once soft expression. Vestraz had wings? She’d heard of demons gaining wings, but it was not something common, it certainly wasn’t something Seraphina had ever seen before. Her eyes widened as the wings spread out and shook free, revealing small injuries and damage, but beautiful nonetheless. The word Vestraz spoke next pierced through her like a knife blade to skin, maybe Seraphina truly did not deserve mercy in all of this, living with the knowledge of what she’d cause was a price she should pay. She nodded as she watched her wings away and the demon take flight. She stood alone where everything had went wrong for a moment longer. Watching Vestraz take flight and slowly fade into the distance to join the battle. She kneeled down to the ground, placing

her hand on one of the bodies beside her, the skin of the demon already running cold in the short time that had passed. Michael had set her up, had sabotaged her, and had undone all the progress she set out to do in less than 5 seconds. She felt anger course her veins. Why? Why would he blindside her like this? She had served her in the most dedicated fashion she could for thousands of years, and this was the thanks she got in return. A small tear trickled down her tear, a tear not of sadness this time, but of anger and frustration. Her wings striked the air powerfully, soaring her body up into the sky with ease so she could look over the tree tops. She spotted the battle as it had just began to unfold, blades had been drawn and bodies were beginning to fall on both sides, and she knew she had no further time to dwell on the wraith of Michael. She soared through the sky quickly, dropping herself immediately into the battle. The casualties on both sides would be inevitable, but she had to do everything to assure some of her brothers and sisters would return back to heaven in one piece. She clutched her blade tightly as her eyes met the glance of a demon, slowly standing from his crouched position as he finished his kill. She didn’t wait a moment longer to sprint towards him, her blade ready to sink into his skin to avenge her fallen. @Eli

Once Vestraz had joined the battle she was on a rampage, bodies of angels laying in her wake, she wasn't fully there, flashes of the bodies of her brothers and sisters running through her head. Screams and grunts of pain had filled the previously serene clearing. Blood seeping into the previously untainted soil. Once pure loves being lost to a war they hadn't started, but one they were forced to partake in. Everyone had their own reasons for being on this field, wether it be their duty, their own hatred, or in Vestraz's case, her newfound desire to make Seraphina feel what she was feeling right now. Despite how angry she was, she couldn't help but look over to seraphina from the corner of her eyes as she fought, making sure she would stay safe. Everytime she would watch the angel dodge a hit she would let out a small breath before going back to her own fighting. Her own blade sinking into countless angels. As she looked over her eyes focused around seraphina again, but this time not on the angel who was currently in her own fight, now she was focused on the demon who was heading straight towards her. Vestraz's mind started racing, Seraphina was preoccupied and probably wouldn't notice the demon sneaking up. She watched as the demon grabbed Seraphina's wrist. The angel now trapped In-between the two demons. Without even taking a moment to pause and think about what she was doing she put her wings down and propelled herself into the air, her wings would take her faster than her feet ever could, she quickly soared over to the group, hoping to make it before- no, she couldn't think like that. Once she got over to the demons she shoved the one behind Seraphina off, letting out a growl of warning, her eyes flashing at the demon that was now laying on the floor of the forest. "Not her" she barked, her voice dripping with venom, watching as the demon quickly scurried off to find another angel to kill. Vestraz took a pause, looking seraphina up and down.

"Are you okay?" She grunted, the anger towards the woman still evident in her voice, though now there was an underlying tone of concern. She hasn't seen much of the fight, didn't know if she had gotten hurt, and if she did how badly, she couldn't understand why she cared, why she didn't want the woman- who had caused numerous demons lives to be taken- to be hurt. @idgafashlee

Seraphina cleared her mind as she got to work, clearing every demon in her path to protect her protect and sisters. She knew one thing and one thing only now, survival. She found herself lost in the fight, blinded to any and all emotions from before as her angelic instincts took over. She let out a small gasp as someone grabbed her at by the wrist, she was caught entirely off guard, and the consequences wouldn’t be good. The entire moment was a blur, all of it happening so quickly, she stumbled back as Vestraz dropped onto the ground between her and the demon, her eyes growing wide as Vestraz pushed the demon away. She began to gather herself, still reeling from the moment, it had all happened in a flash. “I think so..” she said, a small quiver of pain escaping her lips as she felt a stabbing pain in her side. She looked down at her torso, a dark red quickly dying the white fabric she had once worn from her abdomen. “Fuck…” she mumbled softly, placing her hand over the wound and gritting her teeth as she applied pressure. Everything happened so quick she hadn’t even realized the demon made a strike at her. “I’ll be fine.” She shook her head at Vestraz, Seraphina had already let her guard down once, and she now had a deep and actively bleeding wound to show it, they couldn’t afford to just be standing around in the middle of this battle. She blood soaked through her shirt, her hand providing no help in slowing the loss as the bright red blood dripped from her hand and down her arm. She’d made a mistake, and was now reaping the consequences. She pressed down harder against the wound in hopes to stop the rapid blood loss, wincing softly by trying to present as okay. Her other hand tensely gripped her demon blade, her eyes scanning her every surrounding to protect anyone on coming. This cannot be my fate, she thought to herself, mentally cursing as she wondered just how fatal this angel blade wound would really prove to be. @Eli

Vestraz's eyes traveled to when Seraphina's gaze had landed, her eyes widening as she saw the crimson red begin to stain the prestige white. She took a quick look around the field, the battle still raging on as if nothing happened. "Shit shit shit, think Vestraz" she muttered to herself, trying to think of a way she could get Seraphina out of this situation, despite the betrayal she still felt deep in her bones from the angel, that didn't mean she wanted her to die, there was a reason she hadn't taken her chance to kill the woman after all. "Okay uh, keep pressure on the wound and hang on tight" she commented as she walked closer to Seraphina, moving to pick her up bridal style. She had never flown with anyone else, her slightly injured wings always making it harder. The ride would be bumpy and shakey, her wings weren't the strongest but she was confident she could at least get them both far enough away from the battle so she could help the angel. She spread her wings once Seraphina was holding on with one arm, taking one last look at her as she shot them up into the air. Her wings soon leveled out once they were high enough, beginning to flap as she took them away. Her eyes scanning the ground below them for any sign of where they could land, she knew she didn't have much time, with the amount of blood Seraphina was losing she had to act fast. Spotting a River she slowly lowered them to the ground, water would help once the wound stopped bleeding. She slowly sat them both down, moving seraohinas hand to look at the wound, a grimace taking over her face at the sight. She thought for a moment before ripping off a bottom piece of her tanktop, securely tightening it around her waist, she knew that had to hurt so she muttered a quiet "sorry" but it had to be done to stop the bleeding. Vestraz did something she never thought she would do, her head turning up to the sky as she began speaking. "I don't know if you guys listen to demon calls, but if you do, now would

She let out a painful groan as Vestraz picked her up with ease, she was uncertain if it was the adrenaline of the situation or pure demon strength. Seraphina continued to focus on placing pressure over her wound, the blood seeping out despite her best efforts as her free hand clinged to Vestraz shoulder. The ride began and ended before Seraphina could truly even comprehend what was going on. Stabbing pain was the only earthly feeling she recognized in the moment, and she expelled all her effort on simply applying pressure to her abdomen and staying awake. She grasped the cold ground beneath her with her bloodied hand as Vestraz removed her it from her wound to take a closer look. “I’m sure it’s fine.” She mumbled incoherently as she laid her head back, but Vestraz seemed to neither listen nor care to her lack of concern as she began to work to help slow the bleeding. “Ow. Fuck!” She snapped angrily, it was unlike Seraphina to do so, but the pain was the only thing she could make sense of at this moment. And the pain she felt as Vestraz secured cloth around her wound was a pain that was seering like nothing she had experienced before. She closed her eyes, wishing for the moment to just be over, for the pain to end and the bleeding to stop. She listened to Vestraz speak beside her, unable to make out the words she was saying but feeling comforted by the sounds of her voice. “I’m sorry Vestraz” She muttered the words softly with shaky breath, using all of her energy to do so. Seraphina wasn’t sure what was in store for her, but she needed to make sure Vestraz knew she didn’t mean for any of this to happen, that she never meant to hurt anyone. A small tear rolled down her cheek as her eyes slowly blinked open to view Vestraz beside her. @Eli

With every cry Seraphina let out Vestraz winced. Whispering a quick "sorry" with every noise. If the scene was so truly heartbreaking perhaps Vestraz would've laughed, the feared demon who killed everyone she ever came across going soft and apologizing for the pain she was causing while trying to save the angels life. She looked down with tears in her eyes when the woman spoke. Moving to wipe the tear that had fallen from Serpahines eyes "hey no... it's okay... I know you didn't mean for it to happen, you're going to get out of here okay...?" she reassured, brushing some hair away from the woman's face, looking down to check in the bleeding. "There has to be something we can do right I mean- can't you call for other angels?" She whispered, the desperation in her tone was heavy. Her sadness was slowly turning into anger, did the angels just not pay attention? One of their own had been stabbed and now Vestraz was here trying to pick up the pieces. Her mind races with different thoughts, perhaps if she hadn't stormed off from the scene the way she had... then Seraphina wouldn't be in this situation. Perhaps she could've done more to have prevented such an outcome. She quickly scolded herself, now was not the time nor the place to self-critique herself. The woman's life was now on the line and that wasn't something she was willing to let herself get distracted from. There had to be a reason Vestraz seemed to gravitate towards the woman. There had to be more in store for their journey than for one of them to die by a river. "Save your energy okay...? You're going to be okay..." She looked up at the sky, getting angrier by the minute. "Can you see she's dying? help her!" she yelled to the sky, praying some angel somewhere could hear her cry for help, wether it be from the field or from heaven. If Vestraz had the ability she would transport them both to heaven, but demons couldn't do that. And she couldn't take Seraphina to hell to patch her up because that cou

She silently prayed in her head, hoping to mask Vestraz’s prays for help. She couldn’t risk Michael answering her calls, she didn’t want Vestraz to end up harmed in all of this too. She nodded softly at the demon, her eyes closing once more and her head laying back and she hoped the calls wouldn’t be answered, she didn’t have the strength to defend Vestraz if another angel came to help and attacked her. She let out a shallow sigh, knowing they had gotten themselves into a predicament that would be difficult to get out of. “Vestraz..” she said softly, reaching out to grab the demons hand as she grew more and more angry. “It’s okay...” Her voice trembled slightly, still exhausted from the events that had unfolded on the battlefield, still reeling in pain. In what felt like her dying moments all she wanted was to ensure Vestraz safety. Seraphina was hopeful that everything would somehow turn out fine. She wasn’t sure how or why, but she held onto the hope as she muttered once more, “It’s okay.” She found herself fighting to remain conscious, her body desperately needing rest at what felt like the least opportune moment. “Save your people..” she mumbled, fight for just a few more moments of wakefulness. “I’ll be here..” Having no strength left in the moment her body went limb, loosing consciousness but her slow shallow breathing continued. @Eli

As Seraphina began to close her eyes Vestraz panicked "no no no! Wake up come on.... your story isn't over yet" she yelled, trying to get Seraphina to wake up, but it was no use, the blood loss was starting to get to her. Vestraz let a test roll down her face, something she hasn't done in.... she can't even remember the last time. She thought of what she could do to save the angels life, obviously praying was no help, the angels would never answer to a demon. So she did the one thing she could think of, go back to field of the battle and try to find an Angel that could help them. It would be risky, any angel would kill Vestraz on sight and ask questions later. But Vestraz supposed it was worth it. The world needed more people like Seraphina and less like Vestraz. If she could give her life to save the angels, she would, and maybe that's what it will come to. With that thought she stood up with a new determination rolling her shoulder as she leaned down to carefully take the woman in her arms, being careful not to hurt Seraphina's wings in the process "you'll be okay..." she whispered even though she knew her words wouldn't be heard. She took a deep breath as she carefully lifted them both off the ground, willing her wings to just cooperate and not give them a bumpy ride for once. As she spotted the battlefield she put all her energy into getting them there as quickly and as safely as she could. Once she arrived her breath hitched, looking around it was clear which side had won this battle, while there we great losses from both sides, with one look anyone could tell there were far more demons left in this field. Her eyes searched every inch trying to find a loose angel that hadn't yet returned to heaven. After a moment she spotted one, bringing the two of them over to the angel. "Please... help her" Vestraz pleaded as she carefully set Seraphina on the grass in what seemed to be the only clean spot on the field, slowly stepping away so she wasn't within stabbing

distance of the angel, trying to convey that she wasn't a threat. Once the angel agreed to take Seraphina, Vestraz spared her one last look, her heart aching at the outcome of this battle. No one deserved to die, that was just a fact, but especially not Seraphina, she was one of the few who wanted to put an end to this war. She could potentially be the only person to stop what seemed to be never ending bloodshed. After a moment she willed herself to return to hell, trusting that the angel that she gave Serpahina to would get her the help she needed, but now she would have to answer to the higher ups in hell, Vestraz needed to prepare for a scolding, and soon, but she couldn't find herself to care about that. Her thoughts staying with the angel that had somehow softened her. @idgafashlee
