in the bustling city of Lakeside, lived a young college student named Mackenzie also know an Mac. She was in her final year at Lakeside University, studying graphic design and minoring in comp sci. Mac had always been known as a cheerful and optimistic girl, but recently, her world had been turned upside down by a painful breakup during the middle of her internship with one if the biggest graphic designer company there was. Mac had been in a long-term relationship with her high school sweetheart, Alex. They had shared countless memories, dreams, and plans for the future. However, during the summer Mackenzie caught Alex red handed cheating on her, in her bed! Least to say their relationship ended that moment and she moved out of their shared apartment cutting all ties finically with him. Mackenzie couldn't help feeling a profound sense of loss and heartache. In the midst of her emotional turmoil, she moved back home and commuted to her internship but looked for an apartment nearby. As she was searching she found and apartment, well a room for rent within her budget reaching out to Thomas.Thomas seemed to be a kind-hearted and empathetic guy, and as they knew each other a bit, Mackenzie reluctantly moved his apartment , well really into that room starting a new chapter in her life, as summer came to an end so did her internship. Her and her other internship buddies would be out in the bars having the best time of their lives before the fall semester started. Her two best friends Alexia and Jake would be having a drink off while Mackenzie watched. She was wearing quite the skimpy outfit, short shorts and a deep v neck tank showing off her perky beautiful chest. She’d be cheering them on, not drinking as she was the designated driver

For once feeling comfortable with herself and slowly learning to love herself. As the night came to an end around 1am Alexia and Jake would stumble out as Mackenzie followed behind* “come on guys.. I’ll take you home” say as motioning the two drunks to her car as she’d drove them to their apartment and made sure they got in safely. Once they did she’d drive back to her apartment , walking in around 1:30am. It’s been about a good 4 months since she’d moved in with Thomas. She’d park her car and walked in, going up the stairs unlocking the door as the door rattled slightly , followed by a click. The red head walked in quietly and closed the door immediately taking off her heels, and to her surprise saw Thomas sitting on the couch “Hey” shed chuckle “why are you still up?!” she say locking the door and placing her heels down @Büññy

Thomas Park or just Thomas what his friends used to call him , was a budding photographer and a cafe owner, not technically his but it was her mother's . A parting gift he recieved when she went to the gods for eternity. Since then Thomas has taken care of the cafe in the mornings and went strolling around the city for good night shots, he was what you called a night photographer, his compositions reflected the beauty of night. He had a dream of going to Seoul and Tokyo for capturing the night there. He has heard from his mates that the night life there is amazing. He wanted to go there , he needed to save money for that, so when the opportunity came from Mackenzie, He jumped for it. Mac wanted a apartment to shift to and Thomas was living alone in a 2 bedroom apartment, too spacious for him and the rent was ...umm..huge as well. He was looking for a roommate though , wanted to spit those bills!. Mackenzie was a dear friend from high school, whom he lost contact with for a while . She was into different line of education, and he never went for college. Social media was the place were they reconnected and an formal invitation to his cafe let them to talking into various topics. Mac told him about his ex situation and how badly she wanted a place to settle in. Thomas offered his proposal which she gladly took and accepted. The next day the apartment was shown to her , and within few days , there they were sitting in the couch , sipping wine and watching a daily show. The days were going by well, they adjusted really well. The household chores were divided and they used to get tons of personal space as well, thanks to the apartment which was quite spacious. Four months have passed by, Thomas was running his cafe smoothly , loads of customers, thanks to his business skills which meant he had to stay there till evenings. His night out for photography was quite limited due to his booming business. That night the supplies for his cafe came late.

He was there waiting for it in the cafe, it was getting dark when the truck appeared infront of the cafe. He quickly helped carry the suplies inside. He was tired and just wanted to finish the day. He shutdown the store and started walking towards the apartment. He ordered a pizza while walking, usually he cooks food for them , but Mac has told him , she would be out, so a day off from that duty. He reached home and to his surprise , Mac was still not home. It was unusual for Mac for being this late, she used to always come before midnight. The order came and there was still no sign for her. Thomas called her , while chewing on the slice of a pizza. No answer, what is this girl upto.... He was getting tensed , He called jake, one of her friends , no answer. Time passed by , it was nearing around 1.30 , he was thinking of going out , looking for her when the apartment door opened, she was home. Sigh of relief came out of Thomas as he sat at the couch , waiting for her. Mac came in taking her heels out questioning him of the reason he is still up. "Where's your phone Mac?, i called you multiple times, atleast inform me if you are coming late . I was worried sick."

As Mac was coming up the stairs she could smell that faint smell of pizza as she’d open that door, startled jumping back. As he spoke

“Aw I’m sorry I’m sorry!! I couldn’t hear my phone the music was loud and everybody was singing and screaming you know..” the red head said , her hair in a messy bun with a bunch of loose hair strands as she’d walk over to the kitchen setting her purse down as she’d grab a glass of water for herself and continued on

“Jake, Alexia and I went bar hopping we ended up at Playbook and they got Blasted there.. you know how they are” she say chuckling as she’d down her water parched, setting the glass in the sink as she’d wipe her mouth and headed to the couch sitting next to him

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to startle you ..” she say sincerely, feeling bad she worried him, she place her hand on his arm rubbing it softly before she’d lower it, and lean back on the couch making herself all comfortable

“next time I’ll have my phone in my hand and not my purse.. I pinky promise” shed childishly say chuckling to herself

“how was the cafe today? Sorry I wasn’t there to help with the supplies today.. I’ll make it up to ya next time, I’ll get the supplies next shipment”

she’d say, she honestly loved helping out in the cafe with him it was a side hobby for her helping him by waitressing or making drinks, it really helped her build up her social skills, and running it with Thomas made it 10x more fun

“did you take any new photos today?” shed then chime. Mackenzie was one of Thomas big fans of his photography, there was pictures hung in her room that he took just for her, and some freckled around the apartment as well since he didn’t have anything hanging on the walls

“y’know we missed you, you missed quite the show Jake and Alexia had a whole beer chug competition and I finally rode that mechanical Bull for longer than 10 seconds” *she’d say snickering as she’d rest her head on the pillow looking to Thomas a

"You better keep that pinky promise, Miss Mac." Thomas replied rollling in eyes and smiling. He sipped his wine while Mac was in the kitchen and told him about her day. "The supplies came late as usual , but hey, you don't have to worry, it's taken care of, all the help in the cafe is really appreciated and you don't have to do that frequently, focus on college , will ya?" He further added. "It was fine today, loads of customers, the new building on the main street , is generating more people , good for me , eh?. The thing was i couldn't go out tonight cause the supplies were late. I had to wait for the truck . I have a plan of going tomorrow, let's see." Mac was working as a part time maid in the cafe , he will not deny that the business is good as she is one of the reasons. He had made a custom maid dress for her ,, maybe he will use it during Christmas to attract more customers? who knows. Thomas has just one problem , she is frequently there and he is worried she is not focusing on her studies that well. He was a business man but making money on someone's wasted career was something he can't digest easily. So he is looking for some more maids for his cafe. Full time worker this time. "Really ? They had a beer chug competition? Wait let me guess , Alexia won? .....ahahaha man i should have been there to see you jump off the bull ." Focus on college.. yeah yeah like that wasn’t the 1000th million time someone told her that, as she’d rolled her eyes chuckling and playfully hitting his arm

“you know I can multitask right!! I can focus on college and help in the cafe and there’s nothing. you. can. do. to. stop.me” she said booping his nose as she’d snicker and leaned back again, listening to him talk about his day

“yeah that’s fantastic! It’s great news” she’d chime.. as she nodded “oh- I see..hmp. We will try to plan our days when there isn’t shipping arriving okay?” Mackenzie smiled as she’d loosely tie her hair into a messy bun

“Mhh-mhm! Alexia did win, you know how she is when it comes to competition.. she’s a very.. very competitive gal..” she’d say as she’d laugh along with him

“stop stop!!! I was pressured into riding it cause I lost a drinking game to Alexia and Jake! We were playing Pennys, you know that game where you have to toss a penny into a shot glass standing like .. 6-7ft away. Well, they are surprisingly good at it.. way to good.. I don’t even know why I agreed.. I knew I was going to lose too!! But hey.. yolo as they say”

As Mackenzie yawned checking the time on her phone as it was nearing 2am “Holy hell we been talking for almost a hour now Jesus Thomas I have school tomorrow don’t you want me to get a goods night sleep!?” she’d say in a teasing tone “makin me stay past my damn bed time!” she’d joke as she got up stretching

“I honestly hate to cut it short Thomas but I should head to bed, I do have a 10am class…. Maybe during my break I can stop by at the cafe and study there for a bit? And then after that class I’ll swing by the cafe again around 5? And help you til close.. how’s that sound?”

Thomas chuckles and laughed as Mackenzie was narrating the whole incidents while his advice was also declined regarding her focusing on studies. "Don't tell me if you fail in one of the subjects, i am not gonna make you business partner."- He winked at her while laughing. It was already 2 am and she had classes tomorrow, and listened to her words before going to bed. "Ya i did took you to the bar for drinks and made you ride the black bull..haha...i am evil ain't I?"- he laughed. "Mac you can come by anytime, it's not necessary to help me. I have workers miss and i will be bringing in more. You are most welcome to come study." He replied while waving her as she went into her room. Thomas quickly switched off the TV, cleaned the table , washed some dishes and cleaned the sofa before going to bed. He sat on his bed and did some calculations and accounts regarding today's supply delivery. He read a book , while half into he was already asleep. The next morning he woke up early , went for a run and came back to do some yoga, He quickly showered and got ready . It was 7 am , Mac was still asleep. He made them toasts with omlette and bacons, Kept Mac's plate on the dining table and covered it up. He then prepared ginger tea for her , so that she can get over her hangover. He knocked on the door and declare- "Mac i am going to the cafe, need to prepare the kitchen, food is on the table and you have classes at 10. Bye take care." He quickly went from the entrance to his car, drove 2 miles down the street to the main avenue. He waited there for his morning supplies which contained various meats , vegetables and breads. The old man john arrived and helped him load his supplies into his car. He took a left turn from the mall at the main avenue and came infront of his cafe - 'La Familia'. He went in cleaned the counters and kitchen, stashed his supply . He then sat at the cash register and counted previous day's money that he earned.

He seperated some bills from the cash box and put some changes in. He placed fresh napkins in every table boxes and on the counter. After all was done. He started brewing coffee for him and his employees that was something of a encouragement from his side. The coffee was prepared and transferred into the big coffee jar. He sipped his mug while Beth entered. Beth was the oldest member of la familia . She used to work for her mother. Her husband left her with 2 kids , and Thomas's mother gave her work , from then and now she has been the cook of the cafe. People loved the food of mama Beth. Beth entered the store , changed herself into work clothes and sat and drank coffee with Thomas while they discussed today's menu. The menu in la familia changes everyday which was rule by Thomas's mother. They finally decided the menu while Gloria and Jarred entered. His server and cashier. Gloria was in her mid 20s and was juggling between two jobs. she left college in mid way cause she was interested in music. Her second job is a DJ at a night club. Jarred is a painter and is on a art degree from the same college Mackenzie goes to. He is a part timer who works here for clearing his hostel rents. Both of them are easy going and hard workers. Both of them grabbed there coffee and sat on the table beside Thomas and mama Beth. "What is today's menu mama Beth?"- Jarred asked. "We have egg-chicken sandwich, macaroni pasta, healthy salad with salsa sauce and apple pie as well as truffle cake for dessert." *-mama Beth replied. *"Sounds amazing Mama Beth." *- Gloria exclaimed while sipping her coffee. All of them were chatting when Thomas looked in his watch , it was 9 am. Time to open the shop. He declared-"Ok guys, time to work , its 9 chop-chop."* Everyone nodded and went to their stations. Gloria started wiping the floor while Jarred was in the counter preparing the cups and holders as well as placing the pastries on the looking shelfs.

Mama Beth was in her kitchen ,preparing the ingredients for today's menu. She started preparing the friers and cooktops. While she prepared the vegetables and sauces. She went to the kitchen fridge to bring the supplies that arrived yesterday. Thomas on the other started writing today's menu on the small black board, and took it outside for the customer's to see. Within 9 past 20 , the morning rush started and they all were busy. Without noticing time it was already 1 pm. The cafe was a little less crowded and the workflow was slow. The afternoon sun was bright and melo while Thomas sat on the table behind the entrance , and watched the sun and the clouds while he waited for Mackenzie to arrive and sit on her favourite table behind the entrance of La familia. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

“Hey now!! If I fail a class I’ll just work at the cafe wether you like it or not!” she’d snap back, chuckling as well as she’d tuck her hair behind her ear, her face slightly red as he said that. The way he laughed, and the way spoke it was different.. and it made Mackenzie genuinely happy. As it was nearing 2am Mac yawned as she’d playfully swat his arm as she got up “yeah yeah your so evil.. I should start calling you Evil Thomas” she’d tease as she’d then smile softly and say

“I know but, I still like to contribute so, get used it to Tommy..” shed say as she’d then say “I’ll see you tomorrow.. Night Thomas” as she’d walked to her room, and did her night routine which consisted of taking her makeup off, washing her face, brushing her teeth and moisturizing her face, as she’d pull the sheets back on her bed and got in, as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out like a light

as the following morning came she wokeup to the gentle knock on her door followed by Thomas voice as she’d hear his footsteps receding and then the apartment door opening, closing and then the click as it locked. She’d check the time 7:45am “mhhh” she’d groan, figuring she’d just get up now, usually she’d get up at 8:30 but hearing how he had food on the table for her.. well changed her mind Mac open the door her hair a mess as she’d be wearing a fluffy robe and slippers shuffling into the kitchen. She saw the tea and the plate covered in tinfoil as she’d pull back the tin foil to reveal the food, her eyes widen slightly as she’d gasp in awe.. taking a picture and sending it to her group chat with Alexia and Jake

day. Mackenzie wore a cute pencil skirt with a long sleeve tight white shirt and a beige bra under. As it was nearing 9:00am, she’d grab her backpack and left the apartment locking it after, and headed to class*

Mac would be sitting in her class fiddling with her pencil, her mind not all there as she was just thinking about a lot of stuff, like her emotions and wellbeing. It’s been almost a year since her and Alex split up, and it seemed like she was only 50% their if recovering. In fact all she could really think about was how tomorrow would be the one year anniversary of the breakup. Her mind was racing and her heart was pounding as she’d snap out hearing the professor speak “Miss Graham , the answer?” As Mackenzie snapped out looking at her professor with an anxious look, her skin pale as she slowly breath and respond back “Sorry Mr Lockhart, the answer is C you would delete the x and put it before the parentheses” she say as her professor nodded “very good” hed say as he’d continue on the lecture “Mac you okay..” Jake said looking at her as Mac nodded “yeah I’m fine..” she’d whisper back as Jake would gently rub her shoulder and lower it as class ended Jake and Mackenzie would be walking out talking about their plans “yeah actually tonight I’ll be swinging by the cafe to study, and help out if needed” she’d say as Jake would nudge Mackenzie * “You always seem to be in that cafe helping him out girl..” Jake would taunt “just admit you like himmmm” hed hum chuckling as Mackenzie would hit his arm, heading Jake whimper in pain

“If you say his name I swear I’ll toss you into that pond” Jake cut her off hissing as Mackenzie nodded laughing

As Mackenzie would watch Jake leave.. she’d began heading towards the cafe, her AirPods in listening to Everything I do, I do it for you by Bryan Adams. As she’d walked in she was greeted immediately by the warmth and smell of the cafe she’d do her rounds saying hello to all the workers as they greeted her back with a gentle smile, as Mackenzie would slip past Thomas and into the kitchen to give Mama Beth a big hug “Oh hello sugah!!” Mama Beth said as she’d kiss Mackenzie’s cheek “how are you Darlin! You look like a stick are you not eating!!” shed say

“hi mama Beth” Mac smiled as she’d chuckle “I’m good class ended so I’m here to study a bit before I help around— and yes!! Im eating” she’d say as Mama Beth playfully swatted her with her rubber spatula

“Yeah yeah!! Well hun if you want anything let me know I’ll cook it for you okay?” Shed smile as she go back to work.. as Mackenzie would leave the kitchen and tip toe behind Thomas in hopes to scare him

“Boo!!” she say as she’d laugh and then lean back to look at him “did I scare you? I hope I did” she’d say as they would walk to her table, Mackenzie setting her book bag down and taking out her laptop and supplies

Thomas was infront of the register when two hands touched his back out of nowhere. "Jesuss!......for fuck's sake Mac don't do that....you scare me too much."- He exclaimed, his heart pounding from the sudden incident. "ha ha ha....you got me . i surrender"-Thomas replied with the 'ha' part sacrcastically. She sat on her usual spot and demanded her favourite croissant. "You are getting this cause you declared me handsome. I am flat-arsed!"- He laughed as he went behind the counter and took out the croissant. Prepared a plate , put the piece in the middle, dusted some power sugar on the top. He prepared her coffee and presented both at her table. "study first , complete your assignments and then only provide a helping hand to the other workers."

"You know that right, i couldn't go to college, and i want you to complete college and get a good job."-he further added. Thomas left her at the table so that she can study peacefully. He went behind the corner and started cleaning counter-top. The customer rush was low at this time. He had time in his hand. Jarred came from his break and took over the counter. Thomas went inside the kitchen to help Mama Beth and let Gloria go as she was next for the break. He filled chocolate fillings into the freshly baked croissants. He then cleaned the oven and some utensils so that Mama Beth can reuse them for the second batch. The dish-washer guy comes at 8 in the evening, after there is nothing to cook more. After 8 the cafe serves only coffee and confectionaries displayed on the counter. Thomas was mixing the batter for the next batch when Jarred came to the kitchen and told him-"Someone is here to talk to you Thomas." "Yeah , i am coming in 5 minutes. "-he replied as he finished mixing the batter completely. Infront of the counter was a woman standing, in her mid 20s, black hair and a beautiful face. Probably a Latino. "Hello , how can i help you ?"- Thomas asked. "Hi, are you Thomas Park , the famous night photographer?"- she declared, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "I am Thomas and yes i do photography but i am not famous at all..umm..miss?"-he replied and asked at the same time. "I am sorry to not introduce myself. I am Steph Armas . I am from Europe and currently studying photography here at the Lakeside University."-She chimed in. Thomas was smart and he quickly understood why she was here in the cafe at the first place. He replied-"So do you wish to study night photography from me?". "How do you knew that, did i just tell you?"- Her eyes in disbelief, big and wide open , looking at him with curiosity.

"I figured eventually through your study subject, but who told you about me ?"- He questioned Steph. "I got to know about you through your blog page, i must admit your photographs are so beautiful. Every concept has a meaning. I wish to learn from you . Please teach me."- Steph blurted out her words as she joined the hands as namaste and begged of him to become his tutor. In reality he didn't had any blog page , either she is lying or it has been created by someone else whom i know very dearly, he thought while he looked at Mackenzie , tuned in her laptop, studying with focus. He started thinking what to do. He can teach her , but didn't had that much of time. If he could get a new full-timer , he can go out for photoshoots , and Steph can join him too. Full-time worker , right? what about half-time and some other half-timer looking at the shop at night. He quickly added-"Steph , i have an offer for you, i can teach you for free , but you have to work here in my cafe at evening shift. My cafe closes at 10pm and after that i can take you with me for night photoshoots, you can watch and learn. I will pay what my other workers get paid. It's a win win for you. Take your time to think on it." Uptil now Mac used to help her in the evening, she was always there and he didn't wanted her ruin her college life , staying and working in his cafe for free. She should be enjoying good quality times with her friends after what happened with her and Alex. "Do i have to clean the dishes as well ?"- Steph quickly replied. "No we have a assigned dish washer." "Then i have no problems with joining ."- she exclaimed, excitement in her voice. "Cool, please give ur details to Jarred here, and will meet you tomorrow evening in here. Mac would thank him as he’d set the baked goods down and her usual favorite coffee as she’d smiled, huffing “yes yes father I know” she’d joke as she’d go to study tuning in while Thomas did his job.. she tuned out the moment she heard someone call for Thomas name.. she’d glanced to the time wow it’s been 4 hours.. she’d stretch and looked up seeing the women at the counter talking to Thomas. She suddenly felt.. jealousy? She was curious she carefully listen into the conversation, her loud squeals of excitement and playful touching on Thomas hands and arms made Macs blood boil. She didn’t understand why she felt so.. angry now as she’d immediately looked down and just drowned herself back into studying. The women was beautiful.. why wouldn’t Thomas be interested? She seemed to have same interest as him too.. she heard her say photography and teach.. Tch why was Mackenzie even thinking all this… But her eyes widen when he offered her the evening shift job— Mackenzie almost wanted to jump in and say something but he assumed she was tuned out not listening.. her heart sank… great there goes her one time to get quality time with the guy.. she liked? Likes.. unsure of. Mackenzie had enough, she’d huff closing her laptop shut as she’d call it a day. As she got up she’d turn her head seeing Thomas approach the table her eyes filled with fury as she venomously spoke “No Thomas I did not..” she’d say as began to walk out “and I heard your entire conversation with little miss squeaky over there…” she’d scoff leaving the cafe. She didn’t want to hear his reasonings anymore about how she should have a good college life.. and how she needs a good job, she’s heard that way to many times from her family. And for once, she was just having fun with the person she wanted to have fun with. She was doing a great job balancing work and life.. or so she thought! Thomas woke up at 8 in the morning. Today was Saturday and the shop used to open a little late on weekends . The rush was low in the mornings and it was more in the evenings. He came out of his bed and made some coffee . He placed the coffee jar on the dinning table for Mackenzie and filled his cup first. He blasted some music in his airpods and started preparing breakfast. Today's menu was strawberry pancakes with maple syrup. Thomas prepared the batter as chopped strawberries were added. The pan was hot as he applied some butter on the pan , let it melt to the heat. The pan was rotated on the heat so the butter can cover all of the pan while he prepared a spoon full of batter . Thomas swiftly spread the batter on the pan as he let it soak all the butter below. The pancakes were ready , he garnished it with some strawberries and kept it beside the coffee jar , a plate kept over it to not allow any foreign particles inside. Mac would be happy , he thought, it was one of her favourites while he laid the maple syrup pot on the table as well. Thomas quickly showered and changed his clothes. He applied perfume and applied blower on his hair. he wore his favourite watch when he remembered that Mac might have a headache when she will wake up.

He took two advils from the medical cabinet and kept it beside Mac's table. She was deep asleep, her red hair all over her face , Thomas laughed as he moved her hair towards her ears and her pretty face was revealed. He gave it a good look as he patted her head twice. Thomas came out of the apartment and took out his car from the garage. The roads were less crowded and the traffic was less. He arrived at the cafe in just like 20 minutes were it takes around 40 to arrive during weekdays. The cafe needed some cleaning as he rushed yesterday. He cleaned the counters and the floors while he kept everything at their place. He prepared coffee for his employees and started reading some newspaper. Mama Beth arrived 30 minutes later as she poured some coffee and sat at the table to discuss today's menu. Today was saturday so mama Beth doesn't have to work in the afternoons , she prepares some orders in the mornings and goes home around at afternoon , and returns again at evening for the evening rush. Jarred and Gloria arrived together and the Cafe was opened around 10 in the morning. The morning rush was not there , some regular customers who came at the cafe to chit-chat with Thomas and his employees. The morning was pleasant and quiet. Thomas had loads of time to think what Alexia told her yesterday. He knew he had feelings for Mackenzie. He never wanted to tell her that , it was from high school and but was never confessed to her . Thomas just wanted Mac happy after she had a brutal break-up. "Yeah i am fine with it, will clear my schedule accordingly. when will we start my lessons ..btw?" "Umm...i go generally after closing cafe ....so at night time...i will teach you as i take pictures."- Thomas replied. **Reminder: Street committee meeting!**

Thomas has really forgotten about the meeting as he checked today's schedule. It started at 3upto 5pm. He can manage back in time when Mac's shift starts. Jarred and Gloria entered as he told them to manage the shop and explained them the meeting thing. He even told Gloria to tell about the meeting information to Mackenzie when she arrives. He took his car and went straight to the committee center. The committee center that created by a group of businessman to address any issues related to business for the area. It was formed 50 years or so ago. Since Thomas owned a business in that street , he was a member as well. The committee meetings happens once a month to discuss issues that may or will affect their businesses. Thomas was one of the persons on the meeting who raised a hand when allowing the mall ion the main street was discussed. After the decision was passed and mall was set up , many businesses including Thomas's cafe had a genuine increase in customers. Some also opposed the idea since they had to do direct competition with the Mall. After the decision , there had been less unity among people in the committee. Thomas was one of the youngest businessman there and there was also Tulip who also inherited her Father's watch showroom. He would always stay away from these politics as it created bad impressions to other business owners. Tulip and Thomas would always sit at the back as other members will discuss issues and argue as well. Thomas parked his car beside the committee center as he saw Tulip beside the gates, smoking. Tulip asked her what happened as he shook his head declaring nothing. The meeting started as he waited it to end as quick it can. He wanted to see Mac and drink coffee together , talk things out. Man it was tough , to again suppress those feelings he had for her. Thomas was always insecure of himself as he was not a bright student and he had left high school in mid semester. His high school friends had pity on their eyes when they used to talk to him. Now things have changed , he have a business and a passion . He reached cafe at 4 past 15 as he was about to enter , he saw the sign outside his cafe was placed on the wrong direction . He grabbed the sign and placed it towards the way he came in . He entered through the glass door entrance as he saw 4 men sitting on the table laughing on to something. Matthew over heard them talking something about a red-head. The group left and Thomas turned himself towards the counter when he saw Mac standing there , her arms crossed , a angry look on her face , not filled with a huge amount of rage that can suffice with a trip to their favourite chinese restaurant. Mackenzie went into the kitchen as Thomas followed her . "Hiii Mac ... was wondering shall we go to the chinese restaurant on the 6th Street? oh and Steph will be working in the morning shift. He was laughing loudly as he explained that he wanted something to go with the soup. It was a chaos down there , but it was refreshing. They both loved each other's company. They will smile and laugh at the weirdest things possible but at the end they protected each other. The food was delicious as Thomas paid the bill. Thomas was driving , as he saw Mackenzie thinking in silence. Her face serious . He thought of staying quiet and let her make her decisions. Thomas looked straight at the road as Mackenzie started saying -“You know.. I think I’ll be fine I don’t plan on texting him.. I’ve been ignoring his messages all day..” That was like music to his ears . He replied -"That's really good to hear.", as she further added-“I should block his number..”. Which she couldn't , as she hesitated. She chuckled weakly at Thomas , to which he nodded his head softly. The rest of the ride was smooth , both of them didn't talk much as they reached the cafe. He told Mac to clean the counter and tables to which she clearly denied and told him that she will help in the kitchen too, Thomas couldn't argue as he needed help. Thomas and Mackenzie started washing and cleaning the kitchen. Thomas would crack some jokes as they would listen to good pop songs from the speakers installed in the cafe. Thomas would make bubbles with dish soap as he float them in the air , making Mac giggle . That was fun as they finished cleaning the kitchen. Now it was time for the counter and tables.

Thomas took out the mop from the cleaning room as he started mopping the floor. Mac was cleaning the tables . Both of them, humming to Let her Go by Passengers. They would looked at each other and laugh as they loudly sing the lyrics of the song, trying to out-loud each other. The floor and tables were done as Thomas started moving the pastries inside the freezer. They didn't served them to customers, but they were donated to the Homeless groups that needed food for survival. They came every morning to get previous day's food. This social service made Thomas really happy, and he has always promised himself, that whatever his financial situations would be , he will continue to donate food to them. Mackenzie meanwhile cleaned the counter for him. She wanted help to clean the coffee machines , as the locks were tight for her small fingers to open them . Thomas opened them for her , as he concentrated on cleaning the cups and placing them in their counter place. He then restocked the coffee beans box and sugar boxes. He placed the coffee filters at their allocated place and also stacked the milk and cream compartment. Everything was done as they sat on two chairs , looking at the clean cafe . They were tired but they were happy. It felt pure, it was so good to vibe together and do your work, It was worth it , maybe half of the work could have been done yesterday morning, but they wanted to spend this time together , alone, Maybe , that's why they finished everything tonight only. "wanna go home and drink some wine?"- Thomas asked , for which Mac nodded with her eyes sparkly, filled with excitement, beaming a beautiful smile. Thomas chuckled as they switched off the lights and closed the cafe. There was least to none traffic as they reached their apartment very fast. Thomas quickly showered as he got dressed in his mickey-mouse pajamas. He came to the kitchen and put some caramel popcorn in the oven. He took out a bottle of wine and two glasses as he placed them in the living room. The popcorn was done ,as he placed it on a large glass bowl and started walking towards the couch. Mackenzie was already there on the couch, opening the wine bottle and pouring for the two of them. The smell of caramel popcorn was in the room to which she became excited. "Wanna watch Witcher 3?"- He asked as he switched on the tv. She declared yes as they both sat together on the couch , blankets on , sipping some good wine and having some popcorn , as they watch studded Henry Cavill doing his magic in screen. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂 awww!! so sweet. As they arrived home, Mackenzie would head to her room and also shower, taking shorter than Thomas as All she did was wash her body, as she’d step out and dried her body she’d throw on her plaid pj pants and a baggy tee with a cow on it as she’d head towards the couch with her favorite monkey stuff animal and fluffy blanket big enough for the two as he’d sit down. She’d place the blankets on their lap as she’d pop the top off the wine and poured it in the glasses for them “cheers” she say as they clicked their glasses and sipped their wine.. well mac downing half as she needed a drink.. or 7. As he’d offer to watch the Witcher Mackenzie would look at him, nodding with awe in her eyes. The Witcher was her favorite series as he’d put it on. As they would be watching the movie and happily munching on their popcorn and sipping their wine, Macs phone would be buzzing like crazy.. as she’d glanced to her phone and back, she didn’t bother picking it up, only moving it slightly so the ringer was off as she looked back at the movie fixated, However Thomas could see the messages since Macs phone was in the middle between the two, the spam coming from Alex as the message read

"Cheers!!"- Mackenzie exclaimed as they clicked their wine glasses while they laid back in the couch , blankets up and popcorn on the table. They were watching Witcher together as Thomas suggested and Mac excepted the idea gladly. Through to the movie, Mackenzie's phone started to chime with new messages. It came in succession, ringing in few seconds of interval. Someone over the other side was in desperation. Was it Alex again? Thomas snickered to the feeling of Alex texting her again. What was he texting ? he thought. Mackenzie was deep into the movie, giving attention to the scenes. The message ring chimed again, now Thomas looked over to the screen without turning his head . Thomas started making himself calm, thinking different topics in his head, trying to forget what he saw just now. He couldn't concentrate on the movie at all , as he gulped some of the wine from his glass. Suddenly Mackenzie jump scared and started laughing looking at him. He had to react fast as he smiled weakly , trying to convert it into a genuine laugh. The movie ended as Thomas sighed looking at the tv screen reading the credits , trying his best to avoid eye contact with Mackenzie. Mac was smart as she quickly caught upto his strange behaviour. “Hey.. are you okay?” *- She enquired. "Yeah..i umm..fine.."- Thomas replied as he made eye contact with her , trying to act normal. *“Hey now you know I can tell when u lie! "Yes dear you can sleep here....good night..." - Thomas whispered as he kissed her forehead, running his hands over her head, massaging slowly to make her fall asleep. Mac felt asleep a little later on Thomas's lap. It was late in the night. Thomas couldn't fall asleep as he looked at her as she was deep asleep. He didn't wanted to wake her up or carry her to her bedroom, he wanted to admire her there infront of him, sleeping peacefully. He caressed her hair slowly , making her curls go behind her ears exposing her beautiful face. Thomas admired her beauty as he kept staring at her girl, smiling . The morning alarm waked him up , he was still in the couch , Mac all over the sofa, Thomas slept there looking at her , his back hurting after sitting in the couch for so many hours. He placed a pillow below Mac's head as he tip-toed to his room. He smiled as he looked over Mac's sleeping face before going for his daily workout. He came back from his room completing his workout and freshed up and ready to make breakfast. He went to the kitchen ,Today he wanted to make some pancakes

Thomas turned the coffee pot on as he prepared the pancakes , taking out the ingredients for the batter. He prepared the batter as he poured some bananas into the batter , making it taste much better. He placed the pan on the stove as oil was poured on it , making a sizzling sound . Thomas prepared the pancakes and placed on two plates , as he poured some maple syrup over the hit pancakes and a small piece of butter over the top to melt it. He poured some coffee on Mac's favourite cup and started moving towards the living room to found Mac's was sitting in the couch , just woke up from her sleep. Macs face grew heavily red as he started to describe the woman he liked.. he immediately knew he was talking about her as soon as he said redhead, she swore her heart skipped a beat as she felt a wash of relief knowing he liked her back. She also felt scared.. it’s been awhile since she has had a crush and someone actually like her back.. as she pinky promised him she didn’t love Alex anymore. As she’d block Alex she’d set her phone down and nuzzle into his neck tightly hugging her monkey plush as he’d pull the blanket up more to cover the two as they fell asleep. She’d blush feeling his lips on her forehead and his arm wrap around her, his other massaging her head as she’d fell asleep her head resting on his shoulder. As the next morning came Mac would be flared out on the couch on leg dangling off one arm on the cushions her plush on the floor and the blanket half on her as she was dead sleep. She didn’t even notice Thomas get up, none the less slip a pillow under her head. Mac took the plate as she nodded , her face sleepy , still trying to figure out what's happening around her. She placed the plate on the table and started cutting the pancakes, taking a small portion out from the table, she picked it up with her fork and ate it peacefully, her eyes closed as she savoured the maple and butter combo. Thomas admired the scene as he sat on the small recliner beside the couch, sipping his morning coffee. He smiled at her as she suddenly looked at him and asked the most bizzare question- “hey was I dreaming or did I actually admit that I liked you.. and that you liked me back?” *. Thomas blushed as he hesitated first to answer her . He gained confidence after few seconds-"no.. you weren’t dreaming.....idiot..."* He replied mumbling the last words. Mackenzie smiled as she completed her food and complimented him . Thomas smiled as he looked at her , a stab like pain in his back , maybe sitting on the couch all night, resulted it to happen. Mac gave a concerned look towards him as she asked-“You look like your in pain........did you sleep okay??”. "Yeah...ahaha...i slept like a log...don't sweat about it.."- He responded rather immediately. Mackenzie looked at him for a few seconds and went to the kitchen to rinse her plate off. Thomas finished his coffee quickly , his back was killing him , maybe a hot shower will help. He went straight to his room and so did Mac, turned on the hot shower in the bathroom. He collected his towel from the bed and went for his shower. The shower was really soothing, his back pain aching a lot less than before. He opened his wardrobe and took out his hoodie and skinny jeans. He placed it on the bed while packing his small camera bag, today he promised Steph that he will take her with him for the night photography sessions. Thomas took his lenses and covered them in silk bags and then kept inside the bag, he also packed his camera and chargers as well as memory cards.

Thomas took his tripod stand, kept beside the small table placed near his bed. He took his phone that was charging and also his purse from the table and went straight to the dinning hall to finish his breakfast. He placed his plate on the table , poured some more maple syrup on the top and started eating. Mac came out after sometime , dressed and ready for her university classes. Her beautiful face glistening in the morning sunrays coming from the window beside her room door. Her eyes carefully wrapped in mascara. Her smile towards him made Thomas's heart beat fast as he looked at her in awe, his food inedible at the moment. "Wow...uff...you look beautiful..."- He complimented her while he admired with her eyes. "Well i will be going for some photoshoots tonight with Steph, i hope you will come by the cafe in the evening, i was thinking of making butter chicken , i have seen the recipe on instagram. I will go buy all the ingredients in the afternoon, so after we close the cafe, can you come home and prepare and marinate the chicken? It will take just an hour with Steph , will teach her some basics today, i will come home after that and make us some butter chicken and rice....what do you think?"- Thomas added with a straight flow, not stopping in between , making Mac laugh at him loud. Mackenzie left the house after agreeing to hop by the cafe later in the evening. She goes to university by bus. Her friends meet her on the bus stop , a mile away from the apartment. Thomas wished her luck for the day , and then only he could concentrate on his food. His heart still pounding heavily. Thomas locked the apartment as he took his bag and belongings to his car , another day of running a business starts. Thomas parked his car and went inside his cafe, since it was perfectly cleaned , he didn't had much to do. He started preparing coffee for his employees as he sat on the chair thinking about Mac and how to approach her after they both confessed.

The rest of the day went very smooth for Thomas. Steph as expected came in the morning shift and did her chores. Thomas went in the afternoon to the supermarket to buy the ingredients required for tonight's delicacy. The rest of the afternoon was uneventful as he spaced out most of the time either thinking about Mac or how to prepare the butter chicken without any hiccups. Mackenzie arrived at the evening , a wide smile on his face appeared as he told her to finish her uni work and then help him. Mac did so as she sat on her favourite chair while Thomas served her coffee and snacks at the table. Mama Beth went home later in the evening as Thomas and Mackenzie started tidying up the cafe again for the next day. There was not really a lot of work , since most of the work was completed beforehand . Steph came around 9 as they were completing the last works for today. Mackenzie pouted as she looked at her , she was a little jealous but she also knew that Thomas have promised Steph to giver her lessons so it was okay from her side. Thomas gave Mac his car keys as she will drive away back to their apartment. "Is she your wife?..."- Steph asked rather teasingly. Thomas coughed loudly as he replied-" ahhhh....no....not yet!". Steph looked at him, who was looking at the sky instead . She smiled as she added-"So what are you gonna teach me today?" "Today we will learn the basics, use of ISO and lenses as well as concept of dark and light....will be over within an hour..."- Thomas replied rather stiffly showing that he takes photography very seriously. One hour went by pretty quickly as Thomas taught Steph to take street pictures using light and shadow concept. It was around 10.30 pm when Thomas reached his apartment after Steph went back to his dorm by her bike. Thomas rang the bell, he was excited as they would cook together tonight, his heart thumping waiting for Mac to open the door.

Waking up to the smell of Pancakes lingering in the air was the best way to wakeup.. as she’d sit up and head over to him asking him that question. As he said no she wasn’t dreaming.. Mac smiled softly and nodded, giggling quietly as he called her an idiot and swatted the air rolling her eyes “heyyyy I heard that” she’d playfully pouted seeing how much pain he was in “You look like your in pain.. did you sleep okay??” shed question “Yeah…ahaha.. I slept like a log don’t sweat about it” he said as Mac narrowed her eyes.. he was lying clearly as she’d shrug it off and headed toward the kitchen to clean her plate as she did she’d head towards her room washing her face and putting on moisturizer, she was going to shower but she decided to do it later, as she’d step out her bathroom she’d toss on bell bottom pants and a halter top, putting her hair in a messy bun as she’d toss her notebooks and laptop into her backpack zipping it up and heading out her room as she’d head into the kitchen she was greeted by Thomas with a friendly smiled as she smiled back, blushing “heh—- thanks..” she’d say swaying slightly all shy and fidgetity as he said he was going for some photoshoots with steph.. her eyes narrowed in jealousy for a slight second as she continued to listen to him talk “Sounds delicious! And absolutely I’ll marinate the chicken as soon as I get home….” she say snickering “you really went on a ramble huh? Well I’ll see you tonight ..” as she waved him bye. Heading to class as she arrived at university she would be greeted by Jake and Alexia “guys.. As she arrived home she began to marinate the chicken like she was told to do, once finished she’d then shower and come back out in baggy sweats and a sports bra hearing the doorbell as she’d open it and let him in, she smelled of coconuts and pineapple thanks to her scrub and body wash, as he’d walk in she’d closed the door and locked it* “I marinated the chicken like you said and let it sit.. I also started up on the rice knowing it would take a bit” Mac said as she’d open the fridge taking the chicken out, naan she picked up from the store along with chips and salsa to snack on as they cooked as Thomas headed towards his room to change.. she’d stare at his phone he left on his counter..wanted to rummage through it.. scared he was flirting with Steph.. but she held herself back knowing she couldn’t do that. As Thomas stepped out he’d grab the chicken and tossed it on the pan cooking it, the house starting to smell of all sorts of delicious spices as Mac would keep an eye on the rice, whilst cutting up onion and cilantro to use to top it off. Once the chicken and rice were done, mac would plate the bowls with rice on the bottom as Thomas put the chicken ontop, as mac would grab the onion/cilantro mixture and top it off..she’d grab forks for the two and grabbed a piece of chicken blowing on it to cool it down and then bite into it as she’d hum in enjoyment.. the chicken basically melting on her tongue “We should open up our own restaurant Damn!” she joked as Thomas and her would head to the kitchen table to eat “So.. how was your “date” (photo lessons) with Steph…” she say with jealousy in her voice and a hint of teasing @Büññy

Mackenzie opened the door wearing her baggy sweats and sports bra, her beautiful smell of shampoo (coconuts and pineapple ) all around the apartment. The nervousness of Thomas went away, as he smiled at her , his eyes fixed on her pretty face. “I marinated the chicken like you said and let it sit.. I also started up on the rice knowing it would take a bit”- she chimed in , moving towards the kitchen. "Lovely , I am gonna go fresh up and then come there , also look at the rice."- Thomas replied as he quickly went to his room, kept the bag carrying his equipments on the floor , as he changed into his black turtle neck and his khakee pajamas. He went straight to the bathroom to freshen up and rushed to the kitchen to join Mac. The chicken looked well marinated as he patted Mac's head -"Wow girl , you did some great work with the chicken." The rice was almost done as Mac kept her eyes on it and also started cutting up onion and cilantro. Thomas shifted his focus to the butter chicken. He turned on the stove , placed his favourite pan on top, added a shit load of butter , after the butter melted , he added indian spices , roasting them on the heat to make the whole apartment smell delicious. Thomas placed good amount of the cashews inside the grinder, loads of tomatoes and good amount of different spices and turned on the machine, and the result was amazing thick orange gravy. He added the gravy on the pan and mixed it well with the roasted spices covered with butter. He mixed them well and let it cook in low heat for a while. Thomas took out the marinated chicken as he placed them on the grill tray , coated each of them with butter and sprinkled lemon juice on it. He had pre heated the oven for 10 minutes before he started the gravy. He placed the grill tray inside the oven to cook the chicken for atleast 30 minutes. He took out the naan and also the salsa and tacos , while they waited for the chicken, they ate the chips with salsa, laughing and enjoying.

The oven beeped , as Thomas went over the counter to open the oven lid , and take out the grill tray. The chicken came out perfect, smoky and soft inside. The gravy needed two more minutes to cook , he increased the flame to make the process fast. He added the chickens slowly into the gravy , mixing the chicken into the gravy properly. The butter chicken was ready as Mackenzie took the responsibilty to plate. She placed the bowls on the table and put rice in the bottom as he would place chicken pieces on the top as well as generous amount of gravy on top. Mac would place the onion/cilantro mixture on top to finish it up. Mackenzie would take a bite as she hummed making Thomas laugh with joy. “We should open up our own restaurant Damn!” -she joked, still savouring the first bite , preparing her second. "Yeah , i can't wait to see Karens making scene in my restaurant and frequently calling me to complain..."- He laughed as he replied, while moving towards the kitchen table. Mac also followed her as she sat on the chair beside him. Her eyes facing towards him as she asked -“So.. how was your “date” (photo lessons) with Steph…?” *. Thomas could feel her dagger eyes piercing his face, as he kept eyes on the food while answering the question- *"Hey you know it's nothing like that, she just wants to learn photography. She is not my type and my heart has been taken by someone else.". He winked at her while murmuring "Jealous baby". They continued their dinner as Thomas placed some wine on the table to go with the food. He prepared two wine glasses to pour into it as Mac went to kitchen to heat up the naan. They clinged their glasses as they enjoyed butter chicken with naan. Dinner was complete as they sat on the couch , watching a movie , sipping wine, promising each other not to be drunk like yesterday. They laughed and joked about different topics as the night became more deep. It was time to bed when Thomas asked -"Wanna sleep in my bed tonight?".

Mac would giggle as he stepped in, the way he looked all nervous and flustered was cute, she’d never seen this side of him usually Thomas was confident and outgoing. As he stated he was going to freshen up and start the rice, Mackenzie nodded as she locked the front door and headed back to the kitchen, cleaning up any dirty dishes and putting them in the dishwasher for them to run tonight. Mac would be humming to herself, a podcast playing in the background about self love and self worth as she’d be washing the rice for him. As she finished she’d dry her hands and headed to the cutting board to cut them some cucumbers to snack on, as she put a little lime and salt on them and mixed it around the bowl as she’d munch on some. As he stepped out his room after freshening up and rushed to the kitchen Mac would look at him with a cucumber slice in her mouth as he patted Macs head.. complimenting on how she did an amazing job on the chicken, she’d frown “hey!!! I know how to cook..” she say assuming he was just being all joking as she’d finish off her cucumber and then went to start cutting up onions and cilantro the smell of butter chicken hitting her nose was pleasant as she wanted to drool over it, she’d walk over and got on her tippy toes to look over Thomas shoulder as he simmered the chicken in the sauce.. she’d smell the food once more letting the spices hit her nose.. as she grabbed a spoon and quickly dipped it in the sauce and tasted it humming with joy “I can’t wait to eat this it smells amazing.. what a chef..” *she say as she head back to her station, and cleaned it up tossing the onion skins away and putting the knife in the sink, as he took out the naan she’d preheat the toaster for him and headed back grabbing some chips and dipping them as they chatted about their day briefly and sharing jokes. It felt nice doing this. As the oven went off Mac would look over squealing excited as he walked over to take the chicken out, and doing last minute

As she grabbed the bowls and began to plate the dishes for them putting rice on the bottom and the butter chicken on them, and garnishing them with the onions and cilantro as she’d give him his bowl. She’d take a bite and did her little happy dance wiggling as she chewed on her food, humming with joy as she swallowed and said* “we should open our own restaurant damn!” as she go for a second bite, covering her mouth chuckling along as he mentioned how the Karen’s would complain. As she swallowed her food and grabbed her bowl heading to the kitchen table and sat down next to him.. of course she had to inquire about his little so call date today as Thomas would refuse to make eye contact with her.. as she was glaring daggers at him “mhmmmm sureeee” she say after he told her it was nothing like that, and how she wanted to learn photography. She only eased up when he said his heart has been taken by someone else as her face flushed red hearing him call her a jealous baby “H-hey!! Im no such thing!” she lie between her teeth looking away all flustered as Thomas got up grabbing wine as he’d pour her a glass. The two would cheer over their dinner as Mackenize would sip to her wine slowly, she didn’t need a repeat of last time. As they finished up dinner Mac took both bowls and rinsed them putting them in the dishwasher and cleaned up the sink as Thomas would be picking out a movie. Mac would start the dishwasher and turn off the kitchen lights as she walked over to the living room and sat down next to him as she continued to drink her wine “yeah yeah!! Her before she answered* “y-yeah that sounds lovely..let me just freshen up.. brush my teeth and I’ll meet you in your room” As mac got up and headed to her room to do those , she’d brush her teeth trying to contain her excitement as she was flossing as then mouth washed. She’d be all giddy while she was in her room thinking about how she’d be spending the night in his bed, god she felt like a 4th grader having a crush. As she finished she’d head to his room, seeing Thomas already lying down waiting for her , an empty pillow as he patted it motioning her to come over as mac pulled the blankets back and got in. She’d move closer to Thomas as he’d turn the lights off with a little remote as Thomas pulled her in closer, Mac-rested her head on his chest as her arm slung around him. She’d be shaking a bit nervous.. but it slowly started to go away as she drifted off to sleep whispering “good night.. Thomas..” @Büññy

Thomas was blushing as she agreed with the idea as he nodded and went to his room, he started quickly cleaning the bed, making the pillows stay in their places, new bed sheets on the bed and the equipments as well as books to their appropriate place. He scrolled through his phone as he layed down on the bed, he was nervous though waiting for Mac to show up. She did appear after a while, in her beautiful night dress, a smile on her face. Thomas patted on the pillow beside his, telling Mac to settle down beside her. She layed beside her , pulling the blanket back. She moved closer to him, the sweet smell of strawberries lingering his nose. He smiled as he switched off the lights with the remote and kept it on the side table. He wrapped Mackenzie around his arms , while she rested her head on his chest, snuggling inside making space for her. She was shaking a little bit , but started to slow down, as he heard her say-"good night.. Thomas..”. He smiled as he kissed her forehead and whispered -"Good night, baby." The next morning Thomas woke up a little but early , his left hand completely senseless, but he was beaming with a smile, watching Mackenzie's cute face, asleep. He slowly removed his hand from her head and placed a pillow underneath. He slowly changed , not making a sound as she was deep asleep. The going for run was a sudden idea , so he did go for it. He ran a mile or two and returned home. He started the coffee machine , while it was grinding , Thomas returned to his room , surprised, Mac was not there in his room, Maybe she woke up and went to her washroom to freshen up.

He quickly changed and took a shower, and returned to teh kitchen o prepare the coffee for two, He kept the cups on the table while he waited on the dining for Mackenzie to pop up from her room. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

“Good night, baby” was the last thing Mac heard from him, his voice quiet and then feeling his soft lips press on her forehead as she’d knocked out, her arm slung around him with a soft smile on her face as she fell asleep fast. As the next morning came, she didn’t even notice Thomas waking up, usually she’d wakeup to the slightest move or sound but today she was just sound asleep not noticing Thomas remove his hand from under her. A soft groan slipped her mouth as she’d turn the other way getting semi bothered feeling that movement from under her head, but she didn’t think any of it. *as 30 minutes passed Mackenzie rolled over her arm hitting the empty spot next to her as she slowly open her eyes to see Thomas gone!? She immediately sat up- her heart racing and her mind jumping to a million conclusions as she left his bed, maybe he was in the kitchen.. nope empty- her room? Empty, the shower!? Nada! Mac felt tears to her eyes for some odd reason, where the hell was he!? Why did he just leave her suddenly after they slept together.. She’d take a deep breath and ruffled her hair heading to her room to shower, maybe she was over thinking all this. She didn’t want to scare him away. Was it a mistake to sleep in the same bed as him? Was it too early?! All these questions wandered in her mind as the hot water hit her. Another 15 minutes passed and Mac got out , towel drying her hair and tossing on her boyshorts and a long sleeve tee wiping her face as she walked out her room “FUCK” Mackenzie screamed noticing Thomas suddenly appeared in the kitchen with the two coffees made for them. Her hand over her heart as she’d stare at him pissed “where the hell were you this morning!! Did I do something wrong that you left me?!” she said walking over and grabbing her coffee. Thomas looking at her like she was crazy, as he chuckled , smiling “Why are you smiling like that!!! You had me worried I did something wrong! It’s not funny”

she pouted, childishly stopping her feet as she set her mug down “I was so worried I was crying! And I thought so many negative things.. and and maybe I’m just scared we’re going to fast!? I-I don’t know…. All I know is, I don’t want to fuck up” she said with a sigh of relief. It felt good to just let that little tangent out as she’d sipped her coffee smacking her lips and went “ahh.. so.. what’s the plan for today? My morning classes are cancled so I’m free til 3.. and than I have my evening class 4-6:15pm.. I was planning to hang with my friends but maybe I’ll just have them come here if you want?” Mac said her voice trailing “orrrr maybe I could come up with an excuse and have you to myself” shed wink “I was thinking we’d go on an actual date.. to a fancy place…if that’s okay with you? The question made Thomas chuckle hard, as he gave the mug to her. “Why are you smiling like that!!! You had me worried I did something wrong! It’s not funny”- She said again, frustrated from him. "I went for a run Mac, calm down, you didn't do anything wrong."- he chuckled while he took a sip. "Awww little Mac was worried that daddy has left her." he laughed while he added those. "You the morning shift? i don't want chaos in my cafe darling, you would pounce on Steph the moment you see her."- Thomas replied as i sip onto my coffee. "You can complete your classes and come to the cafe, we can come back home and go on a date? The date plan sounds good"- he added. "And you don't have to come to help in the cafe, i can manage today."- Thomas winked at Baylee as went inside to freshen up. After an hour or so he came out of the room , he kissed Mac on the forehead as he left , bidding her bye for the time being. Thomas hummed when he opened his cafe's doors. He turned on some music as he cleaned the counters and shifted the fresh ingredients and supplies inside the kitchen for mama Beth to use it. He prepared coffee for his employees as he poured himself one and sat at one of the table. He looked at the street, a little bit quiet for what would be bustling in few hours. He thought and smiled about Mackenzie when he noticed Jared and Steph entering the cafe together. Thomas stood up , break was over , as he took his last sips of the coffee and started turning on the coffee machines and keeping sugar and coffee boxes beside each one of them. He went inside for the milk cartons as Jared and Steph took their coffee and sat together and chatted for a while. Thomas had always led his employees enjoy the morning coffee with peace so he doesn't mind the morning slack off. Thomas prepared everything on the counter as mama Beth entered, he poured a coffee for her as they went inside the kitchen. Thomas discussed about the menu before he led Mama Beth relax and have her coffee. She was leaving early today so the menu was kept short , no special orders today , only what was on the display. Thomas placed the trays and prepping items on the kitchen deck , as he went outside to see Jared mopping the floor and Steph wiping the tables. Thomas placed the small cafe hoarding outside the glass door. He placed the placard to open as he went inside. The customers will start coming and it would be busy anytime. The morning rush started a few moments, he and Jared was preparing coffee for the customers while Steph was managing the tables. As usual Mama Beth was fast , the croissants were coming in fresh and hot with sandwiches and pastries next. The morning coffee line was huge today, Mac was right he couldn't handle the rush with out her, calling her now was getting into his head but he removed it and looked over the orders and prepared it.

It was afternoon , the rush was gone, everything was in order now, people at their tables enjoying their food and coffee, mama Beth has left while Steph and Jarred were behind the counter and Thomas was serving the tables . While he was serving the other tables , Mac entered , her face livid , she took her favourite spot as she placed her head on the table , covering her face with her hands. Thomas's brows furrowed, he looked confused as he saw the things that happened just now. Steph started going towards her when Thomas stopped her. He went behind the counter as he told Steph to tend the other tables. He prepared Mac's coffee and took a croissant for her. He placed it on the table as he sat on the opposite side. "What happened love?". Mac lift her head up as she told him everything that happened. Thomas was annoyed but he kept his calm. He kept her coffee aside as he spoke -"Come on Mac let's go for a walk". "Jarred and Steph look at the cafe , i will come back shortly" As both of them stepped outside. Thomas took her to the nearby ice-cream shop as he let her order. Thomas chimed in -" Look Mac , i know Jake betrayed you , but i think there must be a reason behind it. If you can give Alex 3 minutes , i think Jake needs a chance of explaination too right? You are such a good girl , you are kind and you try give others every love you can. So give him a chance to explain himself." "And for Alex , if he steps infront of the apartment again , i will break his leg." They both had ice-cream together as he let Mac think of her next actions. She needed time and Thomas was a patient person. So he sat beside her giving her all the support he could cause at the end it was she who have to decide what she want to do. @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

Mackenize looked distraught the entire day, her whole routine thrown off as she’d just stare at the wall, she didn’t even notice Thomas coming by until he placed down the coffee and croissant for her. She’d gaze up, and pushed the two away from her as she lost her appetite. As he suggested to go for a walk, Mac wiped her eyes as she followed him out the store “Where are we going. Don’t you have to be in the cafe to manage” she said sniffling again wiping her tears as Thomas would laugh “mama Beth got it.. besides it’s a surprise” he said as he took her to a small ice cream shop. Mac smiled as she’d order to usual, Cookie Monster as she and Thomas would sit down on a picnic table “A good reason!? There can’t be any” Mac huffed glaring daggers at Thomas. Why was he looking at such a “positive” side to this. She’d then snicker nodding her whole demeanor changing as he spoke about breaking Alex’s leg “well that’s if you get to him first, cause if I got to him first.. I would definitely end up in jail..” Mac said as she’d lick her ice cream , eating it slowly, resting her head on his shoulder “I don’t know what I want to do about Jake. He’s been my best friend since 3rd grade and for him to do something like this out of the blue.. doesn’t make any sense! I know 100% for Alex I never want to see his stupid, ugly face again..” she said looking up at him “Do you think you can talk to Jake.. see why he would do something like that? Maybe you’ll get an honest answer.. besides I probably would lose my cool and get all emotional .. and go on a longggg rant..” Mac sighed as she’d let Thomas finish the rest of the icecream @Büññy t

"I will go talk to him now, can you look over the cafe until then?"- Thomas asked as they exited the ice-cream parlor. He cracked some jokes as they walked towards the cafe. He was worried for Mackenzie , going through such a ordeal first thing in the morning. Thomas needed to do something, he wanted to cheer her up. He crossed his fingers as he left Mac to look at the cafe while he went to the car, hoping that there was a big reason behind Jake's betreyal. Jake's house was not that far from Thomas's apartment, he crossed his block as he drove 10 minutes more straight to take a turn at the curb, he lived few houses down the turn, he parked his car on the opposite lane while he got out and approached the house entrance. The bell rang as Jake opened the door. His eyes red, fear on his face, as he clenched his fists. "I-I do-don't want any trouble infront of my house.....please leave." He blurted out. Thomas chuckled as he looked at Jake, relieved that there was really something behind his betrayal. "I don't want to cause any trouble at all Jake, just want to ask something" Jake crossed his arms as he replied -"What do you want to ask, ask quickly, i have work to do." Thomas looked to his left and right, as he sighed as asked-"Did Alex threatened you to do what you did today?" Jake eyes went wide, as he looked here and there, "No...that's not true....I-I did this on my own accord." Jake rushed inside as he slammed the door infront of Thomas. He called Jake few more times as he went back to his car, and drove off towards the cafe. Thomas entered the cafe through the glass doors as he saw Mac's expecting eyes from behind the counter, he looked down as he went towards his girl. He held her hand as he said- "He is hiding something, Alex has scared him good with something, maybe you should come with me, you can learn what Alex did to him?" @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂 @𝓢𝓪𝓫𝓫𝔂

Mackenzie's heart raced as Thomas approached her with a concerned look on his face. She had been left in charge of the cafe while he went to talk to Jake, and the worry that had been gnawing at her only intensified. She had been through a daunting ordeal earlier that morning, and now the uncertainty surrounding Jake's betrayal left her on edge As Thomas reached her, he gently took her hand and looked into her eyes. His touch provided a small comfort amidst the turmoil. His words tugged at her curiosity, and she couldn't help but wonder what was behind Jake's actions. She nodded, a mix of apprehension and determination in her eyes "Yes, Thomas. I want to know. I want to understand why Jake would do this. I don't want to jump to conclusions until I have all the facts” Her heart pounded with anticipation as Thomas made his way towards Jake's house. She hoped that this conversation would shed light on the reasons behind Jake's betrayal and perhaps ease the pain she felt. As he arrived at Jake's house, Thomas rang the doorbell. When the door opened, a wave of fear washed over Jake's face, and his voice trembled as he pleaded for him to leave As Thomas returned back to the cafe Mackenzie jumped over grabbing his arm as the two sat down in a nearby booth “tell me, what happened!” she said as he began to explain how nervous Jake was, and how Alex might have something to do with it. Mac sighed and looked at him fiddling with her hair “maybe you should come with me, you can learn what Alex did to him” he suggested as Mackenzie would stare at him dumbfounded “What no!? I don’t— I just I know I’ll punch him right in the face” she growled as Thomas would look at her with a sincere, soft look, a sly smirk on his face.. as Mac would sigh and let a soft chuckle out “fine.. let’s go” she said as the two would close up and lock the cafe as they left they would approach Jake’s apartment once more as Mac would knock on the door “I said to leave me

Alone!” Jake belted as Mac would shout back “EITHER I KICK THE DOOR DOWN OR YOU UNLOCK I—“ as the door would immediately unlock, Jake staring at Mackenzie surprised she was even her “Mackenzie I—“ only to be shortly cut off as Mack would fold her arms “Just tell me what Alex did” she said as Jake would stare at Thomas, and then back to Mackenzie, as he began to explain @Büññy (I’ll let you decide what Alex does hehe)
