"She went this way! After her!" The shouts of several men roared through the woods. Panting and gasping, a young woman ran through the woods, her bare feet slapping the path heavily, the crashing of twigs and leaves so loud it was like a symphony, though the actual sound was no where near as loud as the woman believed it to be.
The woman, a dark haired pale skinned beauty pushed through the twigs. Blood ran down her chest and torso from an arrow wound. She had been careless in her starvation. She had allowed her guard to go down and she now bore the injuries of that carelessness. She ran harder, and suddenly, she felt the ground under her feet vanish. She gasped as she lurched forward. She crashed down the side of a large gully. She crashed painfully down into the brush.
Lying in the brush, Navina panted heavily, her fingers shaking as she raised them to the wound. Her blood was so cold. She touched it, hissing in pain. "Where did she go? Do you see her?" She quickly pulled leaves and dirt over her skirt and her body, covering herself as much as she could to hide from the hunters. Their footsteps up above her made her stiffen. She stayed absolutely silent, until finally, the voices and their footsteps vanished.
Navina sighed, her head falling back in the dirt. Her eyes felt so heavy and her vision began to grow darker. Was this how she was going to die? Bleeding like a wounded animal? How pathetic. Typically she would be fine. She would have healed almost instantly from something like this, but things had been hard and finding a plentiful meal had been hard. Animal blood only did so much, and now, she was paying the price for not eating. Here she was... dying. She let out a weak laugh, shaking her head. "You really did it... this time..." She said weakly before she let her eyes shut slowly. If this was how she went... then this was how she went.
