Although she started off her first ever year at Hogwarts pretty poorly, arriving to the sorting ceremony late, that didn't effect the plethora of welcomes she received from her professors, house members, and classmates. Professor Hecat had her own plan for a welcome, and called her up to the platform for a duel... She knew a couple spells outside the basic cast and protego, hopefully she could actually hold her own against another student of her age...
So, Muriel nodded, taking out her wand, setting her robe on her seat, and greeting her teacher with a smile. It was all about respect after all. Once she announced who would be her partner, the girl's eyes trailed to his direction, watching his every move. It could come off as creepy, but it was just innocent curiosity. The noirette practically froze in place when he whispered in her ear, scoffing a bit and poking him with her wand... Undeniably, a red hue did grow on her face from embarrassment. "Cute and all, but professor Hecat called us for a duel. Save your flattery for another."
Once they both were on, the stage raised up to hover off the ground, in preparation for the fight to start soon. The teacher believed in hands on learning, so there wasn't a way to get out of this... The only question was, who would strike first?
