Saga Solburg BOT 04/26/2023 01:44
Ten years ago, in a land far west, a ground breaking moment in history broke apart the family of a chief. His only daughter, and his heir, had been harboring the most dangerous dragon known to mankind, a Night Fury. In a fit of rage, and to protect his land, he banished his thirteen year old girl off the land to fend for herself, giving her only a boat, some supplies and the company of her dragon. There, she was never seen again by her father nor her people. As time went on, and her story spread all across the world, not only did the news of her father's sickness reach her, but the news of her capture. In order for a leader by blood to guide the land, the outcast woman needed to return home. Yet for ten years, she's done anything but. Saga Solburg, daughter of Hermund Solburg, and rightful heir to Elio, and a traitor to mankind. For ten years she's lived on a small island in the North, by a dormant volcano, and lived her life at peace. She's crafted armor from the shed scales of her dragon, and leather, plowed a garden, crafted a bow with obsidian arrow tips, kept her canoe in decent shape to go sailing, and won any fight with bounty hunters trying to collect her. Perhaps her life was easy, and simple, but it was lonely. No man understood why she helped an infant dragon, and never listened to an explanation. It made her life lived in forced solitude, mistrust and paranoia. No twenty three year old woman should consider killing any human being for the sake of being human... Often times, she wondered what life would be like if her father decided to be the first to listen? .
01:45
Whatever her thoughts were about, they had to be set aside. Today's jobs were more important than some "what if" questions she had... The sun was setting, and she needed to harvest what was in her garden in order for food for the next while, as well as more in the winter's supply. So, with that in mind, she finished up her day's tasks before dusk rolled around, storing everything where they needed to go, before working on a set of armor she had on a display in her cabin. Leather armor with dragon scales. This would be a treasure once it was finished. Especially, since the scales she needed, belonged to a dragon sleeping on her inner roof supports.

Faolan BOT 04/26/2023 12:06
Earlier that day “Aye, I dare one of yasss taa push Faol overboard! I wanna see if ‘e sinksss ‘r swimsss!” One of Faolan’s friends slurridly teased. This got the four other men to burst out in drunken laughter. “Do it, I dare yas! Jus’ cause I goh par’ me leg gone don’ mean I woh jus’ dump ya drunkin’ arse ouh wiv me!” Faolan challenged back with a devilish grin and cracking knuckles. Due to being raised in a tribe not of his own, Faolan was the black sheep amongst the herd. Everyone had either varying shades of brown or red hair and dark brown, green, or blue eyes. Everyone living in the Northern tribe of Halthlir were practically giants. Faolan on the other hand? He was a short man with a blond mop of hair and hazel eyes. Luckily throughout the years his fellow peers gradually learned to respect and see him as one with the tribe. The cruel remarks and harsh glares were now ones of friendly banter and welcoming gazes… The downside to that was getting tangled up in stupid decisions and even stupider friends. .
12:07
The rowdy gang that Faolan considered good friends of his had decided to ‘help’ the village out for once and set sail to gather fish before the waters became too frigid to sail in. Their dedicated work didn’t last long once one of the older guys hauled out a barrel of mead. While Faolan wasn’t a huge drinker, he did have a mug out of courtesy. His friends on the other hand… let's just say they had a bit too much. The lot of them were just about to gang up on the blond when it struck. Nobody saw it coming, the giant head of a scauldron rearing up out of the water right in the middle of their boat. If they were out actually doing their job, one of them might have been able to spot the flash of scales from underneath their ship, but due to their attention being elsewhere, they never saw it until it was too late. The dragon caused everyone to go airborne due to the sheer force and speed it used to collide with the boat. When Faolan hit the water, he hit it hard. The air in his lungs got punched out of him and he inadvertently sucked in seawater in return. He struggled to the surface, coughing violently once he managed to get his head above the tormented waves. He only caught a glimpse of one of his friends trying to swim away before the dragon’s tail came swinging around. The lad didn’t even have time to cry out in alarm before it slammed right on top of him and pulled him under. The lack of oxygen and direct hit to his head knocked Faolan out like a light. Hours later his limp and unconscious body washed ashore on an island… An island hidden in the mist and lost in the sea.

Saga Solburg BOT 04/26/2023 12:37
It had been so long since the island had met another person in need of a home. Humans came with their weapons and left without their lives constantly, it's as though Forseti, the god of justice, peace and truth, dwelled on this island. Perhaps people came in pain, but they always found peace within solitude, just like the banished tanist found. It couldn't last forever, and she should know better than anyone that harsh truth. Once the new guest washed up on the island, the nightfury sleeping on the inner roof supports immediately perked up, ears flying straight up. Her hearing was better than any creature on the island, so to hear such small noises was not beyond her abilities. Before Saga could even comprehend what was going on, the dragon bolted out of the cabin to the beach. In an instant, the woman lit a oil lantern, leaving her to trail behind in confusion. "Iona! Where are you going?? Dusk already settled, not everyone can see in the dark!" Well, her question was definitely answered the moment the light hit the face of the unconscious man... He was injured, and looked too weak to take care of himself if he were to wake up. How could he be trusted? What if he was a poacher, or one of his father's hired bounty hunters? ... The only reason she even considered helping, was remembering just what a poor condition she was in when she arrived. Forseti took care of her, why couldn't she take care of him? With a long sigh, she handed the lantern over to the pitch black dragon. "Hold this for a moment, I'll place him on your back before I take the lantern back." Saga instructed, and after it was taken, she managed to pry him off the ground and onto her back, transferring him over as soon as he got there. Perhaps she was strong, but not just lifting, but carrying a grown man was still a difficult feat to achieve. .
12:41
After a short journey, the three of them finally arrived back to the humble cabin on the island, placing him down on her bed to begin fixing his wounds. Vinegar, cotton pads, linen bandages and glue was all she had, and needed. She cleaned, padded and wrapped each wound on his body with as much care as she had, and he needed. It took quite the bit of effort to search for each injury and tend to them, which resulted in her finding his missing leg... "Oh... He didn't wash up with a cane of some sort, did he?" The brunette asked, receiving a silent no from the only other being in the home. "I'll begin carving one in the morning... I haven't enough iron to build him some sort of a prosthetic."

Faolan BOT 04/27/2023 05:41
It wasn’t until later in the night did the unconscious man stir from his slumber. The first sign of him gaining consciousness was the movement behind his closed eyelids. It took an embarrassing amount of time for Faolan to actually open them, to say the least. After his vision cleared from a clouded haze, he knitted his brow and frowned as he stared at an unfamiliar wooden ceiling. Where… am I…? He tried to move his head to the side to get a better sense of where he was, but the nauseating sensation and stabbing pain that permeated his skull caused him to hiss in discomfort and stop him from advancing. Despite his body begging him to lay back down and sleep, the blond didn’t like sleeping in a place he didn’t know. With a great amount of effort, Faolan slowly sat himself up. Once he was upright and the furs covering him were yanked aside, his confusion only grew after noticing that his tunic had been removed and was replaced by gauze wrapped around different parts of his body. Who did dis? Wuh happened? The mass amount of discomfort he felt in his head immediately told him that he was concussed. How exactly that happened was a mystery to him though. The last thing he remembered was that he and his friends were going to go out fishing for the village. They had sailed a good way up North from the large peninsula they called home and then… nothing… He just so happens to wake up here. After a moment of staring blankly at his legs, Faolan finally started to look around, albeit a bit sluggish. The first thing his muddled brain could understand was that he was alone. Where’s everyone? He tried calling out at first, but his throat was so dry that all that came out was a barely audible squawk. He winced at the noise, alarmed that he could even make such a sound given the fact he could make a plethora of strange and random noises at will. Once he licked his lips and cleared his throat, he tried again. “E-ello? Anyone ouh der?” .
05:41
When a few moments passed with no response, the lad debated on whether he should stay put or move around. The logical side of him told him to stay put and rest until someone came for him. The illogical side of him… told him to wander around. So of course he went with the illogical side despite being currently uncoordinated, tired, and weak. It took much straining, pain, and effort to maneuver himself off the bed and safely onto the floor. Once he was on the floor he realized that it was very much not worth exploring with the current state his body was in. Newly exhausted, Faolan decided to lean against the side of the bed and wait out his time till someone came by to check on him. It didn’t take very long for him to fall back asleep.

The lonely house laid silent, settling on occasion to the environment it's lived in for so long. Peacefully it sheltered a confused man as it once did when it was originally made for a young girl. Perhaps he didn't know what was good for him, better yet, what awaited him, but he had shelter, safety in a well maintained, sturdy cabin. Although, it didn't remain alone forever. Eventually, the woman who built it, pushed the door open with her foot, carrying a basket full of her harvest, sea hunting, tools, as well as a halfway carven log... To say, seeing the injured man, standing up by her bedside, was the shock of the day. The brunette woman dropped the basket straight on the ground, before rushing over to the blond and forcing him to lay back down. "Down! Down! You're too injured!" She said in an anxious tone, her speech clearly short from a lack of practice on another actual human being... Perhaps it'll be smoother the more comfortable she became. Once she was sure he would remain flat on the bed, she went back to the halfway made crutch, with her tools still in the basket. "Didn't have one, I'll carve. Rest now." She continued, now focusing on cooking... She had some fish she caught during hunting, why not cook that? It only took her around thirty minutes, with her butter, newly gathered harvest, and ground and tried spices she grew and stored. Everything was fresh, everything would taste great, especially for someone that hurt. Accompanied with a glass of filtered water, she sat it down by the bedside... That was a good way to finish the day, so, she sat down by the brick fireplace, and after an hour or so, fell asleep on the floor until dawn.

Faolan BOT 04/28/2023 02:09
By the time his saviour entered the cabin with supplies in hand, Faolan was practically asleep on his feet. How he managed to stay upright was beyond comprehension, yet it was clearly possible given the fact that his leg didn’t buckle and make him collapse onto the floor. His mind was so exhausted and dysfunctional that the sound of the door opening, supplies falling, and someone racing up to his side didn’t even register in his brain. It was only when he felt small yet firm hands forcing him to lay back down back onto the bed and a very startling order from a young woman that he snapped back to reality. The stranger practically gave him a heart attack due to startling him so badly. He was so preoccupied with trying to calm his pounding heart and newly resurfaced migraine that he didn’t even put up a fight as she laid him back down. He’s got to admit laying back down did feel… pretty nice. If Faolan had more energy, he would have laughed in amusement at seeing the young lass stare him down to make sure he understood that he wasn’t allowed to move. But with his strength spent and busy trying to block out the gnawing headache, he simply remained still. Don’t have wuh…? Carve…? His gaze shifted onto the basket and half carved log with confusion. He tried making out what she was creating but quickly gave up with a soft huff. Thinking hurt his head too much. He tried staying awake long enough for the food to finish cooking, but it was a battle he was quickly losing. Even after the food was done and placed beside him, he was already in a deep slumber. .
02:09
It was just before dawn that the blond finally woke up. The much needed rest did wonders on his battered body. Granted, his head still hurt and he was sore all over, but all of that was now tolerable instead of down suffocating. He let out a sigh of relief as no immense discomfort plagued him as he slowly sat up in bed. Noticing the lass still asleep, he decided to simply stay put and look around at the cabin from where he sat. He didn’t want a repeat of what would happen if he did decide to move off the bed.

Saga Solburg BOT 04/28/2023 12:24
Only the desperate slept comfortably on tampered wood floors in front of a dying fire, with nothing seperating her body from it besides the clothing on her back. Perhaps she was desperate enough, since she slept like a baby in these conditions. Taking an extra few hours just to take care of a stranger's wounds, get a long ways in to carving a crutch, as well as cook a meal she didn't even get to eat... Rest came easier when the body was pushed an extra mile past it's usual, especially in rough conditions, like hunger or soreness. Unlike her usual rise at dawn, the only reason she even became conscious was the sun glaring in her eyes through the translucent black glass, otherwise she would've slept until midday. With enough willpower, the brunette woman propped herself off the ground, before slowly getting onto her feet. Iona was still sleeping soundly on the rafters, her black prosthetic wing giving her no trouble at all, which brought her some peace. Now, it was the man her gaze was set upon, sat up in bed... At least he wasn't standing up with a missing leg. She couldn't really panic. So, instead, she went over to where her basket last was, set the halfway carven log in her lap, tools at her side, and continued her work. "Did not eat?" She asked, her obsidian knives flicking away flakes of wood with each stroke... She did say she didn't have enough iron, and on an island with a dormant volcano, almost extinct, it'd make sense her tools were made of obsidian. The silence, for someone this wild and alone, brought her uncomfort. After all, it's only polite to talk to guests. "You must. Must recover... Making cane, for missing leg." She continued, haven't making eye contact with this man since she sat down. .
12:25
Although, surely he should know her name, and she the same. It'd make everything a little easier, right? Although, perhaps he'd figure her out the moment she said something... After a long few moments of heavy contemplation, the woman looked up, and placed a hand over her chest. "Saga Solburg, daughter of Hermund Solburg." She began, referring to the father was just a custom. "Your name? Where did you come from?"

When the young woman rose an hour or two after dawn, Faolan quietly watched with a tilted head as she immediately got to work constructing whatever it was. His hazel eyes were practically glued onto the log in which she was carving into. A curious, soft whistle that sounded like one of the native birds that lived in the forest beside his village escaped him subconsciously as he watched her work. Who is she? Why save me? Wuh she makin’? Wuh kinda metal is dah?? Her question directed at him broke him out of his thoughts with a hard blink. “Wuh-- Oh.. Wasn’t sure dah was frr me or noh.” He answered sheepishly before reaching over to set the plate of cold food on his lap that was beside the bed. Even though he saw the food when he woke up and was hungry, he didn’t know if the meal was for him or not. Granted… the implications of it being there for him were clear as day… he just didn’t eat it in case it actually wasn’t for him… As she spoke about what he assumed to be about him needing to recover and her making a cane, he tried to eat all neat and modest, but once the food hit his taste buds, it was gone in a flash. Good thing Ma ain’t here… she’d be chewin’ me ouh frr eatin’ like so…. He didn’t mind at all once noticing her lack of eye contact as she spoke to him. He himself was known to only be able to maintain eye contact 50% of the time. When she finally looked up at him and introduced herself, it caused him to knit his brow in thought. Saga Solburg… Why’s dah sound so familiar… He didn’t give that itch much thought though once the brunette asked him who he was and where he was from. Placing his hand over his chest, he answered, “Faolan Neil, son of Bryden Neil. ‘m from one of deh Northern Tribes.”

She chuckled a little bit at his accent, finding it so different and strange. She had lost her own so many years ago, and adapted her own method of speech, to hear a different one always made her amused. "Your voice is funny, do all northern people speak like that?" The dark haired woman asked with curiousity, doing a crouched walk, her hands boosting her speed, and peering up to his face. "I like your face... Hair is like the sun." She continued, reaching out and touching it ever so gently, walking around him in a circle to get a full body understanding of him. For being an amputee, his body was built surprisingly well, not to mention the distinct blond hair. His skin wasn't sun kissed like most of her people, and by observation, he'd age well with that. She then pulled the bottom of the blanket up to view his missing leg... The cane should work well for this... Perhaps she'll build a prosthetic, but that'd take a lot of time... "Faolan..." She mumbled, elongating his name to memorize the pronunciation, still examining him from head to toe from pure curiosity. "I come from the West, Elio..." She mumbled mindlessly, mostly just curious about her guest. Once she had a general idea of what he looked like, she immediately finishes up carving the crutch for him, went over and did a visual with it. "Looks good... Here, this is a crutch, for leg." She said, hitting the bed lightly where his missing leg wasn't. So was the dragon above, a nightfury was closely examining the blond man from the rafters, only now being seen when the sun reached the roof. Her entire body was pitch black, the only thing that stuck out, was her wing. It was black, sure, but it was clear it was man made, and not her real wing. Her wing was made of leather, coated in her saliva and shed scales, and the base was made of iron, wrapped in leather, and also coated in her saliva and scales. The creature jumped down onto the floor, examining him from afar with an intense gaze. (edited)

Hearing her comment about his accent caused Faolan to blink in surprise and cock his head slightly. He never considered that his accent would be considered funny, but then, no outsider has ever bothered to outright say it to his face before. He found it quite amusing. When he watched the young woman stalk closer to him, a shiver of excitement and recognition ran down his spine. She walked not exactly how he walked when he was without any crutch or cane, but it was close enough to stir happiness within him. He wasn’t alone after all… That happiness quickly shifted to one of awkward unease once realizing that she wasn’t stopping her advance. He swallowed nervously once she reached out to touch his face. “Uhh.. I like yar face too… reminds me of… uh… pretty things?” He tumbled out while avoiding her gaze, trying his best to keep the heat of embarrassment from crawling up his neck. It was only when she pulled away to a more comfortable distance did the blond relax with a small huff. As she circled him, he too observed her from where he sat. Her movements… It was very fluid and lithe. Yet he could tell that she could spring away at a moment's notice if needed. It reminded him of a cat. A graceful yet unpredictable cat. Once she lifted up the bottom of the blanket and he felt a more than normal draft of air, Faolan couldn’t help but let out a strangled noise of alarm as he realized he was only in his undergarments. Luckily the young lass only seemed to have wanted to examine his amputated leg before setting the blanket back down, much to his relief. When she told him the tribe she was from, something tugged at his mind. Again, this sounded familiar… yet whenever he tried to dig deeper into it, his mind drew a blank. Why couldn’t he remember? Was it due to his concussion? He gave up trying to think about it. “Halthlir,” He simply answered back. .
21:11
As she turned her attention toward the crutch she was making, he was able to quickly locate the rest of his clothing beside the bed and tug them on with only slight difficulty. Now being fully clothed with his brown tunic and black pants (his right pant leg was tied in a knot just below the stump of his leg), he felt much more secure of himself. After the crutch was complete and given to him. He smiled in gratitude as he scooted to the edge of the bed and stood up with it, testing it out. The height was perfect and it was comfortable enough to use without getting immediately sore. Before he could say thanks, a sudden black mass fell from the rafters causing the lad to jump with a start. It took him a moment to realize what fell, but once he was able to understand what it was, he stumbled back with a curse of alarm. “By teh tides of Lir! Wuh deh Hel is dah!?” He shouted, brandishing the newly acquired crutch like a weapon.

She giggled again at his awkward reply, once again touching his face. "You're not very food at this... Uncomfortable?" The brunette asked with care, now touching his hair and just examining his overall build, lifted the blanket, and allowed him to stand on his new crutch. "Halthlir... I remember! I was about to be wed, for tribal alliance. The chief's son was like a child, so I didn't marry him." She retold with a proud smile, holding her hands out just a bit to make sure the man didn't fall forward on his new crutch. Falling back wasn't a problem, he'd land on the bed. Although, that quickly became the least of her worries once a soft thump hit the floor, as well as the man panicking like a mad man. The woman quickly turned her body halfway around, with her head turned completely towards the creature. Her scales fully replicated the night, soft glitter like the stars, and her movements much like a cat as well. She meant no harm, rather just curious about the new person in her home. "Iona, by the gods you must be more careful. You scared the poor lad." She said, her words much more fluid and comfortable, rather than how she was speaking to the boy. The woman wasn't alarmed, nor even the tiniest bit cautious. "I'm sorry, my nightfury... She's like you, missing something important." Saga continued, motioning towards her right wing, the metal humerus and radius sticking out the most. "She won't hurt you, she's curious. You are in her home, after all." She continued, while the dragon approached him, sniffing where his leg was missing, as well as the rest of his body. She indeed focused on the amputation, though, finding in herself to trust this stranger more because of it. Like the brunette said, he was just like her. He was missing his leg, taking his ability to naturally walk, and she was missing her wing, taking her natural flight. .
14:04
The woman then rubbed Iona's head, and mumbled something to tell her to step back. "See? She won't hurt you... Offspring of lightning and death, doesn't mean she's not a grown babe." Once again, she giggled, whilst giving her physical affection to the nightfury at her side.

Faolan BOT 05/11/2023 05:14
Hearing her talk about nearly being wedded to Bryn Lirus didn’t even last two seconds in his mind before the strange looking tarp - least that’s what he thought it was - fell from the rafters and materialize into the dragon of lighting and death. The blond stared at the brunette with eyes as wide as saucers, unable to grasp the fact that she was talking to it like it was a person. The information of it also missing a vital part of its body fell on deaf ears, for the only thing Faolan was able to hear was the pounding of his heart as the thing shifted its gaze onto him. The piercing eyes seemed to stare into his very soul. The urge to scream at the woman to run away and grab a weapon had long dried up in his throat. He was silenced through pure terror under its look alone. As the dragon started its slow advance toward him, the amputee merely tumbled back onto the bed, losing his grasp of the crutch in the process, and scrambled backward with haste. Once his back hit the wall, the single thought of him going to die came crashing down. His thoughts were so jumbled with panic that he didn’t see the passive and curious expression on the creature’s face, only fangs and eyes so vivid that they seemed to glow. When the creature was close enough that he could feel its breath, Faolan violently flinched and jerked his arms above his head to defend himself. He shut his eyes tight, ready for the inevitable. Nothing. The feeling of his flesh being ripped off his bones or the stench of copper filling the air never came. The only sensation he could actually feel was a few puffs of air scattered across his body. After what felt like eons to him (in actuality it was a minute or two), the young lad dared to crack an eye open to see what the hold up of him getting mauled to death was. .
05:14
“W-wuh? H-how’re ya doin’ dah…” He stammered out shakily as he watched Saga seemingly tell the dragon to step back and see it actually listen. He slowly started to lower his arms away from his face and uncurl his defensive posture. Despite this, his body remained rigid and tense. “Why ain’ it eatin’ ya?” He questioned incredulously.

"You're rather jumpy, aren't you? Trust me, Faolan," she said, once again, slightly elongating his name to ensure proper pronunciation. Although she completely understood why he was so petrified, ensuring the safety of both of them also meant also ensuring a mutual understanding between each other, "you're safe with her. She's the one who found you on my beach, after all." She then chuckled again, lifting the dragon's head up and petting her. "Because she's not aggressive. I found her as an infant, and I raised her, taught her how to fly, hunt, everything a wild animal should know... She's never been violent towards humans right away." The young woman responded with a smile, pressing her cheek on the top of her snout, doting on probably the only friend she's had in years. Even just the way she touched such a beast without any hesitation, nor fear for her own safety, only proved her bond with the dragon, as well as it's fondness towards humanity. Iona popped her head up high, with her ears straight up, before prancing away towards whatever noise she heard. It only made the woman giggle more. "You have much to learn, Faolan. It will take a great amount of time before I can properly send you back on your way, so for now, you'll have to learn how to live here the way I do." After several moments of talking, the night fury came straight back with a mouth full of fish, dropping just a few in front of both people, before she piled the rest on the ground and began eating. Saga's smile grew wider, picking up the fish into her arms. "I suppose I can cook this... Are you hungry?"

A frown managed to flash across his lips as he heard her statement about him being jumpy. I wonder why… His gaze flickered back toward the dragon with an expression of skepticism and unease. Where his village rested, dragons who primarily resided on land were small and easy to capture or kill. Larger dragons were almost always found in the sea. So seeing such a creature up close and personal was… alarming… especially with it being a nighfury. He let out a simple hum of acknowledgment as he listened to the brunette answer his questions. As he watched the two display their affection toward one another, he unconsciously relaxed. He didn’t know why, but seeing such a ferocious beast cuddling up to a human caused a sense of indescribable feelings to worm itself within his soul. It was invigorating yet terrifying. It was only when the creature reared its head back that he flinched back in startled alarm, and it was only when it pranced off that he once again relaxed. Once Saga told him that he was to be stuck here for an unknown amount of time, he wasn’t able to stop the pit that formed within his gut. How long would that be? What about his friends that were also on that boat? What would his mother and father think? Would they be worried if they found out he wasn’t back home? Right as his thoughts started to become too much for him to bear, the dragon came back with a mouthful of fish. A noise of disgust unwillingly escaped him as it dropped a few saliva covered fish beside the lass before settling down to eat. “Uhh… sure…” He answered after a moment, unable to stop staring at the black beast with wide eyes.

She seemed to chuckle under her breath at his constant state of uneasiness, with its peaks and troughs, even when the dragon was gone, and hearing about his unexpected stay. Keeping him here wasn't exactly something either of them wanted, but it was a necessity, to let him heal and to fix the boat. With a quiet groan, she stood up from the ground with the fish in her arms, and headed towards the cabin. Leaving Iona and Faolan alone, she could guarantee he'd be following behind her any second... If not, how ballsy of him. Once she entered her home, Saga plopped the fish down on the table, took her obsidian knife and started to scale and clean each one of its guts, bones, scales, and anything else that wasn't solely the meat. Afterwards, she layed each one on a metal rack, and slid it in above her lit fireplace to cook. Then, she prepared her seasoned goat milk butter for the fish, along with plates and some wooden utensils. Luckily this was all ready, otherwise it'd take so much longer... Her guest couldn't go hungry, he was stranded here, after all, the least she could do was be timely. While she got everything set up and finally putting it all together, she hummed a simple song to herself, dropping butter on the grilled fish to melt, cleaning up her mess, and eventually leaving his on the table, and going to eat her's by the fire.

Faolan’s attention shifted back toward his savior once she rose to her full height. It took him a second to realize that she had left to go cook them some food. A thrill of panic shot down his spine as his mind told him that with her out of the room, the dragon could do anything to him now that its master was out of sight. What the woman told him about not harming him be damned. He was injured and physically disabled. A perfect target for any predator. He did not want to take any chances. He snuck another peek at the thing, mentally signing in relief when he saw it still eating away at its catch. With a bit more confidence, he slowly and carefully scooted his way toward the front of the bed, gaze never leaving the creature in case it suddenly wanted to attack. Once he had the crutch in hand, Faolan slowly (and I mean slowly) hobbled after the lass. He didn’t want to draw its attention to him after all. By the time he entered the room, she had just placed his food on the table and was walking toward the fire to eat. Now out of the room with the dragon, he made his way over to the table at a more normal pace. He debated if he should follow her, but eventually scrapped the idea; figuring she’d like her space. He sat down in one of the chairs beside the table. “Thank ya… Frr everythin’. I am in yar debt.” He said after a moment of admiring the food she had created. “If ya ever need anythin’ frr me ta do, jus’ ask.”
