Jules felt a slight jolt of surprise as the young woman suddenly gripped his arm, but he didn't protest her quick decision. He was mainly a skinny lad; most of the time, his main weapons were ink and parchment, not steel. Jules felt the knot of anxiety within him slowly fade as the two stealthily ran across the palace towards her Highness’s chambers. He thought it would be a struggle to meet the princess, let alone get her to listen to him. Part of him slightly recognized that familiar sense of curiosity he seemed to share with her.
Once he entered the princess’s room, his gaze swept across the room, noticing how it was a subtle reflection of her personality; however, he didn't consciously pay it much mind. His focus was laser-sharp, settling on the princess, who now commanded his full attention. When she introduced herself, he dipped into a bow, a gesture of proper respect to someone of her status.
“A pleasure to meet you, your highness! I'm very grateful to you for listening to my proposal!” he said, his voice tinged with excitement as he reached into his well-worn bag and extracted a bundle of tattered notes. “Before I delve into this little project of mine, I must warn you that it's still very experimental and needs a lot more time and research before I'd be confident in allowing anyone to take it consistently.” He extended the crinkled sheets of paper towards her, their age evident from their yellowing hue. They seemed to be many years old. ”The potion is meant initially to suppress curses that are inherited, not given. On top of that, the effects are only temporary and significantly weaken one's magical capabilities. However, with plenty of time and research, I'm sure I can re-engineer it to fit you perfectly, so you don't have to suffer just to get your normal life back.”
His golden eyes gleamed with a blend of earnestness and hope, a silent plea that the princess would see the potential in his groundbreaking work.
