Carter would bring his car to a halt outside the track and field area of the university as he'd step out.. He knew he probably looked out of place amongst people dressed in athleisure or gymwear with bags over their shoulders, but as the sun kissed his face, he felt good to be in that environment once again.. He was aging now, 34 and he felt the pressure of starting this new journey in his life..
He wasn't worried about the money, that was one thing in his life that was actually working on him but he was taking this step and everyone that knew him would judge him for leaving that comfortable corporate job to chase the dream once again.. even if it wouldn't be he would be doing it actively anymore.. but having been away from the arena so long, it almost brought back a host of emotions as he walked through the hall leading out into the gym.. This University in question was obviously a very well stocked place and they had food gym equipments and a big place to practice various disciplines..
He however had already reached out to her parents and he knew she would be doing cardio today as he would make his way through the host of young bodies, men and women alike, all built and ready for competition, to find the treadmills.. And our for the picture stood the woman, not too short, not too tall either, but the one with the long luscious lock as she ran on the treadmill..
But now he really felt out of place.. the only person in there not dressed to work out, but in a corporate suit, he would walk up to the front of the machine, in case she had ear pods on as he would find her beautiful eyes on him.. confidence was never the issue as he'd smile instantly and say,
"Hi, I'm Carter Woods, are you Amara, Amara Healani? Did I pronounce that right?"
He'd extend out a confident hand but his words would reflect the doubt he felt as he hoped that he didn't butcher the first impression completely..
