University. A place where all sorts of people and beings went to get a stronger and better education, and this included those that were not necessarily human. Mages from all walks of life gathered at universities around the world to harness and enhance their magical abilities, and Millie was one of those walks of life. At the age of 200, Millie was young, but ambition. She was not an old hag at 200, no, she was a vampire. She stood at five feet tall and had skin that rivaled the brightest ivory. Her hair was dark as night with flecks of red dancing through it in just the right light. She wore mostly all black clothing, and today was no exception. She wore a black maxi dress that hugged her torso tight but the skirt flowed openly, red lace synching the bodice together in a corset like design at the front. The sleeves were long and left her hands exposed but her red tipped fingers were long and elegant. Her ruby red lips reflected the light as she walked into her first class of the day, magical enchantments. She sat down in the back of the classroom. She could hear and see far better than most others, so she had no need to sit right up front. With that, she set her belongings down on the table and sat down, sipping on a latte, though the contents of said latte might make someone else collapse. @peachbunny_

Elias sat up in bed, to the sound of his irritating alarm. A cold sweat dripped down his forehead and a peek of sunshine glimmered through his navy blue curtains. Shit. He had overslept. Overslept was a stretch as he hadn’t gotten much sleep at all. He quickly throws off the grey comforter that was rested over him and gets up. His roommate was gone for the morning. The digital clock on the desk read 8:49am. The first class of the day on his schedule was for 9:00. Elias snatched a forest green hooded sweatshirt and a faded blue pair of jeans from his clean laundry bin and put it on quickly. The jeans were slim and fit just right. He pulled on his black boots and grabbed his backpack before hurrying out the door, making sure to shut and lock it behind him. University wasn’t part of Elias’ plan when he was growing up. It was more of a family expectation that ended up growing on him. As the semesters went on, he didn’t mind it as much. A part of him felt out of place. He was rather lonely apart from the occasional company of his roommate. The air outdoors was cool and brisk. Wind rustled the leaves and bushes along the edges of the sidewalks. Elias ran past many individuals taking their time but he couldn’t wait. By the time he got to the old lecture hall building, the guard was about to lock the door. He thanked the tall man with broad shoulders and a stern expression and made it to the classroom just on time. He took a seat in one of the middle rows. @vavavicodin

Millie looked up as the door to the classroom opened and a tall man rushed in, finding a seat in the middle row. The very first thing Millie noticed was that the man was incredibly handsome. She watched him carefully and she felt drawn to him. He was handsome. "Alright, everyone. Settle down." The professor, a short man dressed in a white button up and black slacks with long pointed ears, tapped the white board with a stick, calling the attention to him. "My name is Professor Morrighan, and I am going to be your Enchantments professor this semester. Right now, I want to shake things up. You are going to have a project due, and it needs to be on a magical enchantment. You have to perform this enchantment on... a partner!" He grinned. "So, your first task today is to grab your partner that you want to work with. You two will have two weeks to enchant the other, and perform the enchantment. Your enchantment can not be harmful and it must be reversible, unless your partner has agreed to any permanent affects. So! Grab your partners." Millie felt anxiety creep into her chest. Enchanting people? That could leave a lot up to interpretation. Vampires were also known to heavily influence people, sometimes even mind controlling them. It was something Millie hated... What kind of enchantment could she do? Nevermind that, she had to find a partner. So, she stood and made her way down to the man in the middle row. She tapped his shoulder. "Uhm, hi... My name is Millie. Do...Do you want to be partners?" She asked. @peachbunny_

Enchantments. This wasn’t a subject that Elias was very familiar with. He didn’t particularly think that he had any sort of powers, at least none that he knew of. There was one exception. Elias and his family came from a long line of werewolves. It wasn’t something he was open to discussing. Even some of the friends he had in the past didn’t know about this. He looked like your average, every day man who stood at six feet tall. His hands were calloused and he wore faded silver metal rings on two of his fingers. Elias was deep in thought about what the professor was saying. Two weeks didn’t seem like quite enough time for him to grasp safe magic- he didn’t want to cause any harm to someone. How would he manage this? He was certain that he had a book about this somewhere. It broke when he felt a gentle tap on his shoulder. He quickly turned to look in the direction it came from and made eye contact with a woman. “Partners.. yeah, sure, we can do that.” He cleared his throat and felt a wave of embarrassment. Was it obvious that he was lost in his mind? She looked trustworthy enough. @vavavicodin

Millie wasn't sure if this new classmate would want anything to do with her. Vampires had a reputation amongst others that wasn't exactly fun or kind. Vampires were usually seen as ravenous monsters or posh and pompous stuckups who were elitists. Millie was neither, but no matter where she went, she was always met with hate. Even amongst her own people she wasn't exactly liked. She wasn't very skilled with her magic, and this made her an outcast amongst other vampires. Because of this, she hadn't developed a lot of friendships with others. However, this man seemed understanding and he said they could be partners! Millie's eyes widened and she felt her lips curl upwards, a shy smile on her dark red lips. "Really? That's wonderful!" "Does everyone have a partner? Good. Sit with your partner. These will be your seats from now until the end of this project. Maybe longer if I feel like it." The man smirked. Several students groaned in annoyance but Millie didn't mind. She made sure she had her belongings before she sat down beside the man. "My name is Millie. It's nice to meet you." She said softly. She gazed over at the man, curious to learn more about him. What was he? Who was he? @peachbunny_

Elias folded his hands on his lap and shivered. He longed for the comfort of his bed, which he wished he never left that morning. He smiled politely as the woman sat next to him. “I’m Elias. Nice to meet you, too.” He reached for his book bag that sat on the floor beside the legs of his chair and fumbled through it blindly until his hand met a familiar book cover. He pulled it out and set it carefully on the table. The book cover was crimson leather, with fading and fringe along the edges. “I think this might be useful.” Chatter filled the room as people began to discuss their ideas. While flipping through the yellowed pages, Elias began to have an uneasy feeling of anxiety in his stomach. He didn’t understand this. The index was too faded to find the page number. Elias was curious. What made him stand out to be chosen as a partner? Maybe he was the odd one out- lots of the pairings seemed to already know each other. The Professor was watching the room with a smug expression. To break the awkward silence, Elias spoke up. “So, is this your first year on campus?”

Millie couldn't really tell that Elias was nervous, but she did get a sense that he wasn't exactly good with people. He did seem a little on edge, but perhaps that was just first day jitters. She wasn't too worried about it right this second. He pulled a large leather bound book out of his bag and she nodded. "I'm sure it will be! Thank you, Elias." Millie looked at the board and jotted down notes as the teacher wrote a few spell components one would need for an enchantment, though it wasn't a complete list. Looking over at Elias as he asked his question, she nodded. "Yes, I'm a freshman here. I was unable to find a school that peaked my interest up until now, so this is my first year at a school in nearly two centuries. What about you, Elias?" She turned a little more, her eyes meeting his. He was truly interesting. She also... had struggled desperately to make friends before. It had been at least a century since she had a friend, and that was due to a human friend of hers passing away. She hadn't actually spoken to her in about one hundred and fifty years, because once her friend began to age, and she didn't, she knew her friend would be afraid of her. Vampires were not typically liked among humans, so Millie stayed away when she had to. But, it was a lonely experience. @peachbunny_
