It was a new day, it had only been weeks after the Rebellion, since her mother had passed, the new Empress woke in a cold sweat, nightmares riddled her nights and left her restless, she couldn’t help but wonder when the next time she would go feral would be, hopefully the “cure” that had been concocted by Lord Liu Kang would work, she loved her people and wished nothing to happen to them. Her breathing soon slowed, and her hands had stopped shaking. Mileena pushed herself from her bed, she only walked a few steps before she fell down to the floor. The sound of her hitting the floor was enough to cause Umgadi to rush into her room. Tanya the first to enter kneeled next to her to help her, Mileena waved her off as she pushed herself from the floor. Standing the new Empress would lean against their bed, looking around the room she would take a few minutes before finally coming to her senses. She would get dressed in her everyday clothes only coupled by a crown that once belonged to her Mother. Leaving her room she would prepare herself and sat down on the throne. She had only one thing on her mind, seeing the man she had blinded, she had sent an envoy regarding a new Tournament, she had received no response but didn’t doubt Liu Kang’s desire to visit outward. As the new Queen she waited for hours listening to the demands and worries of her people, it was tiring but with all the time in the world she had little choice, due to her condition, she’s been left with snake like pupils, which changed people’s views around her, though many thought best to keep it to themselves.

Weeks passed since the Rebellion against all timelines. Despite weeks having been passed, it felt like mere days to Kenshi Takahashi. It was only weeks ago that he sought out Johnny Cage to retrieve Sento, a sword used by many great swordsmen before him. It was only weeks ago that they were introduced to Outworld and learned many new things they never knew existed before. It was only weeks ago when he lost his sight to Princess Mileena, who now had been crowned Empress after her mothers unfortunate death. Despite being blinded by Mileena, he never blamed her; he blamed himself for being reckless. During the few weeks after the Rebellion, Kenshi was beginning to be taught how to master his newfound abilities. After being blinded and trying to stop Quan Chi from progressing with the soul stealer, he realized that Sento wasn’t just any ordinary sword. Within it held ancestors souls before him, and somehow and for some reason they connected with him. He realized with Sento in hand, he was granted with unique and powerful abilities. — It was another morning, around the break of dawn. Kenshi and every other earth realm protector had been requested by Liu Kang. It was an odd and unexpected request, especially being Liu Kang was often busy in matters they had no knowledge of. It was then that they met up at Madam Bo’s that they realized what it is they were called for. “The empress had requested us? For what reason?” Kenshi asked, obviously confused and curious. It seemed everyone else was curious as well. “You will just have to wait and see.” Liu Kang stated, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. Before they knew it, they were stepping foot in Outworlds courts.

The Empress was informed by messenger that the Earthrealm party had arrived to Outworld, the empress would excitingly rise from her throne before making her way to where they had usually met, the Empress would bow before Liu Kang. ”Ah- Lord Kiu Kang, I apologize for my tardiness, I had not received word of your coming until you had stepped foot into Outworld, on behalf of Edenia and all of Outworld, welcome.” she smiled though it was hidden under her mask. She stood again and turned to see her Sister and Father standing behind her, smiles on their face, seemingly of pride. ”Come, the Tournament will start soon, a new Era of Edenia, it is only fitting we start it with a treaty, one settled in Kombat, as is tradition” she was nervous, she had not chosen her champions, she was to nervous to do so up until now. As they made their way to the palace she still remember Johnnys crew here and how much of a pain it was, but despite his advances his humor always made her laugh and the movie was.. pretty good. Sitting in her throne she would wait to be introduced to Earthrealms champion, expecting which would be Raiden.

Liu Kang and as well as the other earthrealmer’s bowed down before the empress. It was to show respect, and they knew that much. “Do not apologize, we only arrived mere minutes ago.” Lord Liu Kang reassured with a warm smile. “So, remind me, why are we here again?” Johnny, the annoyance of their group asked Kenshi in a low whisper. Ever since their return back to earth-realm, he busied himself in producing a movie based on the events that conspired between the realms. “You are just as clueless as I, Johnny.” He simply replied. If he weren’t blind, he’d probably be rolling his eyes right now. “Tournament?” Raiden repeated, confusion painted his face. “But we have already won the previous tournament. “I thought tournaments between our worlds only occurred once every 50 years.” “It is not a competitive tournament, Raiden. It is simply to rekindle our treaty.” Though of course they were all confused- except Liu Kang, who already have known about this tournament. . They followed in behind the empress. @maccywalls

The empress would look towards the people among her crowd, eyeing Tanya she would nudge her head. *”Come forth Champion of Earthrealm, I am eager to see how you skills improved since last met, as for my champion, it will be Tanya.” The Empress declared as she adjusted herself in her seat. Though some chatter came amongst the people watching she gave Tanya a nod to encourage her to fight for her.

“Excuse me, empress Mileena, but I have decided that Raiden will not participate in the tournament. Instead, Kenshi will be taking his place.” Liu Kang knew just how difficult it was for Kenshi to get used to living without his sight. He spent the past few weeks training him, moreso than the others. He knew that Kenshi improved well and showed great skills to be able to take this fight. Kenshi was obviously surprised by this sudden change, but he did not back down. He knew Liu Kang wouldn’t choose him for no reason, and trusted him well. “It will be my honor to fight.” Kenshi stepped forward, drawing his sword. @maccywalls

She sighed as she looked to her sister, pain in her eyes as well. ”Very well, I am sure he has surpassed himself and will continue to be an excellent combatant.” she said as she had gotten excited in watching him, her heart started to race as she saw him draw his weapon. ”Well.. if both Combatants are ready, then commence”

Kenshi let out a deep sigh as he got into his fighting stance. For a moment, everything around his went completely silent. He couldn’t hear the chatter of Outworlders or his own people. His only focus was on the opponent before him. —- The fight ended with Kenshi as the victor. Many were surprised that a blind swordsman managed to defeat an Umgadi. “Thank you for such a fight, Tanya. You did great.” Kenshi lended her a hand, helping her off of the floor. @maccywalls

”Marvelously done, you have chosen a fine warrior Lord Liu Kang. But can he hold his own against the person who helped him discover his power. Father will you take this next fight?” she looked towards her father who had taken over a new body, Ermac. She smiled watching her father descend the stairs and get into a fighting stance. ”Perhaps your fighting skills will be tested thoroughly this day, or perhaps, we will have to gain lessons ourselves from Lord Liu Kang.” she giggled which only heightened her beauty and brightened her image as a more gentler and peaceful ruler.

Liu Kang didn’t expect any other outcome from Kenshi. He was indeed a mighty fine warrior, and his strong will and humbleness proved just as so. “I suppose only time will tell.” Liu Kang stated, folding his arms against his chest. Kenshi readied himself for their next fight, getting into stance once again. “Good luck to you.” A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, awaiting for Mileena’s father to make the first move. @maccywalls

Watching the battle commence had gotten Mileena in a better mood than before, she would even press her finger against her lips, biting softly against her skin. She enjoyed watching the man fight. She supposed these feelings started after she blinded the man. The fight concluded with Kenshi the victor, with no one better to surpass her father, other than herself that is. She would stand and take a deep breath. Approaching them with a smile. ”Sheath your blade blind swordsman, you face no more obstacles, Such a fine champion Lord Liu Kang, where did you find him?” she smiled looking Kenshi up and down. @predictable_.

Kenshi withdrew his sword, a soft chuckle escaped the mans lips. He felt confident and accomplished after winning fights against Mileena’s best fighters. Maybe that was Liu Kang’s goal all along when choosing Kenshi instead of Raiden. He knew he needed the boost in mood and ego . . Especially after loosing his sight. It seemed no matter how many times time was restarted, some things were inevitable. “Thank you, Empress. It is such a pleasure to receive such praise from someone as such as yourself.” Kenshi stated. Although he could not see Mileena now, he still remembered just how breathtakingly beautiful she was. @maccywalls

”Hm, well at least most of you are well mannered~” she gave a smirk and look to Johnny Cage before dropping her mood, turning back to Liu Kang she would nod her head towards him. ”I know relations between Outworld and Earthrealm were strained not to long ago, but unlike my mother, I will give you free access to Outworld, may you or your champions wish to visit our beautiful world, you are allowed entry. Now I would think it is time to feast.” she said as she would make her way to the feasting hall, the food was being brought out as they entered and she would take the seat at the end of the table. Turning to her guards at her side whispering to them. ”Bring me Earthrealms Champion, I wish for him to sit next to me, tell Lord Liu Kang that it would be no more than a friendly conversation, he need not worry his champions whereabouts.” Two guards would go to Liu Kang and per his permission would accompany Kenshi’s side ”The Empress has requested you be seated by her.” One guard said. @predictable_.

Johnny could feel the empress’s eyes on him, a rather offended expression painted his face. He was well-mannered, well at least that’s what he believed. Johnny was way too cocky for his own good. “Yes of course, that sounds like a grand idea.” Raiden commented. Being able to visit Outworld whenever they pleased sounded like a dream. Maybe even Kitana would acknowledge him. “I’m starvin’. I could do for something to eat.” Johnny said, gently placing his arm over Kenshi’s shoulder as they followed the empress. Johnny and Kenshi seemed to have grown to be rather great friends, despite their opposite personalities. As Kenshi entered feasting hall, he could smell a plethora of many different dishes. Just then, his stomach rumbled. He didn’t realize just how hungry he was until now. Just as he began taking his seat at the table, he heard people approach. “Of course. . If that is what he desires.” Liu Kang replied, having not minded Kenshi sitting next to the empress. Kenshi followed the guards down the the table. At the end Mileena was sat, awaiting his arrival. He took the empty chair besides her, somehow and for some reason feeling nervous. “You requested to see me, empress.” It was more of a statement than a question. @maccywalls

Mileena would wave her hand to the guards, allowing them to go back to their posts. ”Yes, I have.. matters to discuss with you. Some more dire than others, and some of varying degrees.” she would say with a pause, a plate of food was brought to the Empress but she would eat later. ”I see it only fitting to start slowly, on the matter of cross world travel, I ask that you accompany your friend Johnny Cage, I do not want another… ‘meatball’ situation.” The Empress would use a changed tone of voice when pronouncing meatball. *”I’m sure your friend was also to embarrassed to actually tell you the story.” she giggled some before returning back to her main goal. ”But as Champion I wish to reward you, especially with the peace you had brought between our realms, unlike your friends and your master, who will be staying in the guest rooms, I wish to offer you your own room, though as daunting as it may seem the Umgadi have pampered it enough to be comfortable, it is located amongst the other royalty rooms.” Mileena finished her sentence then had picked up some meat from her plate starting to eat.

Kenshi couldn’t help but stifle a laugh at the mention of the so-called ‘meatball’ situation. But all jokes aside, he knew Johnny wouldn’t be able to travel to outworld on his own. Hell, he always managed to get himself into trouble. “Yes, of course. I will see to it.” As they spoke, a plate of food had been placed in front of him. “Reward me? But what is that I have done that Raiden had not? He was champion before me after all.” He didn’t remember Raiden receiving any of this treatment. “As amazing as that sounds, Empress. . I cannot take such an offer. You have already done so much, and for that I am grateful for.” @maccywalls

Kenshi felt his jaw tense momentarily. It was rude to reject a gift from someone. “I apologize, empress. On second thought, I will gladly accept it.” Although he didn’t feel at all he deserved it. “Yes, of course.” His tone grew serious. What possibly could there be that she needed to discuss with him? And privately for that matter. He could feel her warm hand take his own, assuming she would guide him. @maccywalls

Mileena stood and helped Kenshi from his chair, her warm hand cupping his and with gentleness she guided him from the feast hall to the balcony away from others. ”Well, now that we are out ear shot, there is something I wish to tell you.. about your condition, It was caused by my hand and I must apologize, despite my action towards you, you have stayed respectful and quite humorous towards me. I am sorry, though there isn’t much I can give you to make up for what I’ve done, I will do what I can.” She said pulling his hand close to her chest, her hastened heartbeat able to be felt. The Empress had a small blush on her face though unseen she hated the feeling of her face warming up. @predictable_.

Kenshi didn’t feel afraid or nervous alone with Mileena. Even though she blinded him, he didn’t feel any hatred towards her or regret for saving Johnny’s life that day. “There is no need for apologies, empress. It was my doing and misunderstanding that lead to my blindness.” He felt oddly happy knowing that Mileena did care so much, even though she did not have to. “It does not make me any less of a man that I am today.” He could feel her heartbeat accelerating. @maccywalls

Mileena took his words to her heart, knowing she was absolved of her crime, she still felt guilty though. Mileena would pull her mask from her face, there was some scarring from the constant back and forth transformation, her cheeks were left toothed but luckily she was left with her lips and her voice had not turned feral. Despite her monster like appearance she was still quite beautiful. The girls hands moved from his hand to his neck and up his face where she would cup his cheeks. ”May I Earthrealmer?” she asked him, she had gotten super nervous and wandered if she would spoil the mood.

Kenshi felt his body shiver from her touch, but not out of fear… more-so anticipation. He didn’t know what it is Mileena desired with him, or if there was anything she desired at all from him. She rubbed her fingers along his cheeks as their kiss went on for awhile. Pulling away and breaking the kiss, she would stay quiet waiting to hear his reaction, in fear she would put her mask back on to hide her face. ”I-I’m sorry, I should’ve.. I.. Kenshi chuckled softly. Even if he didn’t tell Johnny, the idiot had an odd sense when things were going on between two people romantically or just intimately. He wouldn’t have dared to tell Johnny, especially knowing just how big his mouth was. “Of course. .” And before he knew it, he could feel her soft lips pressed against his own. It was unexpected, that was for sure. But did he regret what just happened? Once relations between Outworld and Earthrealm prosper only then may we continue our relation in public.” she said with a slight sigh taking his hand once more. ”Reminds me of when I was once Champion of Earthrealm. Oh how long ago that was.” Liu Kang would say as he emerged from the feast hall, a smile on his face as he had seen the whole thing. ”Love is beautiful, is it not?” he chuckled before joining them on the balcony. @predictable_.

Kenshi didn’t know what it was he was getting himself into, but honestly he did not want to stray away. Whatever this was, he wanted it to be with Mileena. Sure, he felt an attraction towards her during their first meeting several weeks ago. But for her to feel the same? That was rather unexpected. Kenshi was startled by the sudden presence, but quickly calmed when he realized it was Liu Kang. “Lord Liu Kang-. Wait, you were watching the entire time?” Creepy much. But sounded oddly fitting for a creator of a realm. “Was this apart of your. . Plan?” He asked, referring to the making of their timeline. He hoped it was not, and that these feelings he felt were purely by his own choice. @maccywalls

Mileena let go of his hand and rather leaned on the railing of the balcony. She was embarrassed that they were so easily caught. ”I wasn’t watching, but with god like perception, and your rather abrupt disappearance, it was obvious what was happening.” he chuckled as he winked. ”Though not part of the plan, I do not control everything merely specific events, they rest is up to you and you alone. You two remind me of me and… it doesn’t matter.” Liu Kang stopped himself from saying too much as it was not the right time nor was it necessary. @predictable_.

Kenshi was rather curious as to why Liu Kang didn’t finish his sentence. He and who? Did Liu Kang have a past lover whom nobody knew about? Whatever the case, it seemed rather personal. “We… Cannot let the others know of this.” He said, referring to his blossoming relationship between he and Mileena. “Outworlders would not like to hear such news.” He muttered. @maccywalls

It seems only fitting that the Champion of Earthrealm and the Empress of Outworld seem keen to each other.” he chuckled before beginning to walk away. ”Wait what? Who is it that will spoil our.. it is not you is it? And how exactly do you expect my people to react knowing their Empress has fallen for an Earthrealmer, a commoner too. Sorry…” she would say turning to Kenshi meaning no offense towards him. @predictable_.

He didn’t want to give Outworld another reason to dislike them. “No offense taken.” He shrugged. After returning home after their war, he made it his goal to free his clan from the Yakuza. But still, he has not made any progress in doing so. @maccywalls

Whatever it was..” she paused for a moment before turning to Kenshi and sighing. ”It is best we return to the feast, later come by my room, for we have much to discuss, the Umgadi will not stop you.” she said before taking his hand once more and guiding him back to the feast hall where she would sit down and continue eating. @predictable_.

Deep into the night when everyone was expected to return to their rooms, Mileena was pacing back and forth past her bed waiting for the sound of her bedroom door opening. She had gotten really excited when she heard her door open, rushing to the door she would discover Kitana sneaking into her room. ”Sister? Why do you enter my room at this hour?” ”I have questions, where were you during the feast? And I could not find the Earthrealm Champion either. Has your condition returned?” Mileena sighed as she was relieved she had not brought up their relationship. ”No, I am quite well, I had.. matters to discuss, you need not worry Sister.” @predictable_.

After the feast and enjoyable conversation with everyone at the table, it was now time to call it a night. Being that the other champions were given a room to stay in for the night, they ventured off there. Liu Kang went about tending to his own matters. “I will return shortly. No need to accompany me.” He told his friends before he departed. @maccywalls

”Are you sure sister, I can have Lord Liu Kang accompany you, if the cure had not the affect we hoped for, perhaps you need another dosage” Kitana for say as she got closer to Mileena. ”I also have reason to believe that Earthrealms champion plans to sneak about the Palace like they had weeks prior, I have not seen him in a while, I will call for the Umgadi to search for him. *”No, There is no need for the Umgadi to bother our guests… I had given free reign to the Champion, and he has a room amongst our wing of the palace, you will not bother him, that is an order, besides me and the champion need to discuss further peace treaties, so I will need you to leave.” not giving her sister time to argue back she would push her sister out of the room. Kitana would pace the hall back and forth wondering what her sister would mean by peace treaties.

Within minutes after their conversation, Kenshi could be heard nearing Mileena’s courts. The Umgadi were kind enough to lead him some of the way, but he assured them he had the rest. @maccywalls

Kitana gave Kenshi a confused look as he neared her room. She was confused as to what business they had to discuss. Stopping the man she would look him up and down before sighed and shaking her head. ”Her rooms right there on your left.” she said before leaving and going back to her own room. Mileena had switch clothes, now wearing a fancier nightgown rather than her usual outfit, it was a shiny pink shirt and shorts, golden edges and their family crest. She sat on her bed, her knees in her arms as she had gotten worried waiting for him. @predictable_.

Come in!” she would say as she got up from her bed, going to her door she would hide behind it when she opened it for him, somewhat embarrassed she would pull him in and close the door behind him. ”I am glad you came, I was starting to think that you wouldn’t have come.” she said with clear doubt in her voice.
