Thomas had recently been tasked with guarding the mermaid, mostly because he was the toughest out of them all, below their captain of course. Despite him being rather chatty and kind on the outside, he's tough and can be rather scary if provoked. So, every night, he'd be the one guarding their precious treasure while everyone else slept, and during the day, he'd mostly sleep, unless given a special task that day.
Today had been special, he hadn't slept all day due to the many jobs he had to do during the morning, and immense ruckus towards the end of the day, so, by the time the storm came in, and he had to guard the treasure, he just avoided all the noise and rain by walking inside the treasure room, walking down the small amount of stairs and yawning. It was then he finally saw it, after being told about the wonders of this magical being, he was quite fascinated still by its beauty.
He walked forward towards the tank she was in, offering a tired smile before he grabbed a chair and plopped down, facing the windows so that he'd have both his vision on the mermaid and the door to the basement of the ship. "So you're the famous mermaid, huh?" He spoke with a soft laugh
