Rhythm Of A War Drum: Details

Eletha Frosted blue eyes flicked towards a far arched window overlooking a wide expanse of forest. Thick woodland, trees that could date back to the time of dragons and ancient wars. Lips curled upwards in a satisfied smile. Emotions slide comfortably along her body with cool precision. Everyone envied her, she couldn’t deny that she’d feel much the same had someone else been chosen. Violence wasn’t against her personal moral beliefs. If not for this marriage she knew Mirth would be married to her and not Sydia. What did she care about Mirth when she could have a vampire? Myths of their unnatural beauty was enough to gain her full attention. So much so that she hadn’t even noticed the slaves moving about. Far too often Eletha didn’t take notice of others. She found not distaste of them but not did she give them much of a passing thought. One replaced the other making them easily replaced. No, her force for the last few months had been on the man coming to claim her as his wife. A shiver of anticipation crawled along her skin, creating little goose flesh to prickle over the pale cream of her complexion. Much of what her father spoke of mere weeks ago had already been lost in the excitement as the days were quickly drawing to a close. Any hour now and he would arrive. Their marriage soon to be concluded, she the envy of many women within her kingdom and likely many in all of the other six kingdoms. The very thought of her stealing the prince’s hand, making it impossible for another vampire to wed him sent a thrill of excitement racing through her. He was worthy of her hand, and dear she feel he was lucky to have an elf such as she. .

Dasha “This is beautiful Fallacy!” Excitement and genuine affection wrapped along every syllable in an almost infectious sound. Feline dark amber eyes studied each arrangement, marveling at the vibrant colors, a burst of beauty that took her breath away. Full lips, dusky with a pleasant tint of pink curled into a wide smile. A flash of pearly whites sealing the affect. Fallacy beamed. For three days the elven woman did little else. Creating some of the most remarkable flower arrangements likely anyone would ever find. Dasha wasn’t one to skimp on encouragement which meant she spent a goodly amount of time boosting Fallacy’s confidence. That is until her owner called her away. Four hours later and her papers belonged to someone else and her journey would see her sent to the vampire kingdom. Trepidation filled every inch of her thoughts making her work suffer. Everything she knew about vampires proclaimed them an off-breed of the some foul monster. Content to bleed the kingdoms dry. Wicked faces of sin and beauty with glowing red eyes and ravenous appetites. They shunned the sun, living forever in darkness, and killing every trickle of light. Dasha sent a silent pray to the sun God, a whispered phrase for support and protection. Everything she was devolved around the sun, her life burned with the warmth of light. A shiver of unease slithered through her even as she reminded herself that she had no choice. Slavery had never been one she found distasteful, the king found favor in her, though less frequent. Much of her life was easy, tending to her owners in whatever suited them, listening to their worries and desires. Obedience had always come natural to her, even in her youth. The slavers had found her personality pleasing, enough so that her training and education was far superior then that of other slaves. In this she found pride. Pride that she was of use, and pride that she had only felt the kiss of a whip twice. With the back of her hand Dasha brushed

the trail of tears from her cheek. Silly to mourn the sun, in the forest she rarely saw the heavenly rays but when she did nothing could compare. All of this would be given up when she made the journey into the darkness. There was one shred of hope, maybe the rumors were false, and maybe light did in fact venture through the savagery. So, with that firmly in mind she sniffled once and set back to work. Gathering all of her owners cloths, belongings and anything else Eletha deemed fit to bring.

“You’ve sent for them?” Silen kept his back turned on the people in the room. People he trusted. People he grew up with and considered family - but today was a day he didn’t want to tell them he was disappointed in all of them. It wasn’t their fault he was being forced to marry someone from outside their Kingdom. Technically it could be blamed on his father, the King, an old man nearly on his deathbed who would sink into hibernation according to their customs within the catacombs below the city, and when that time came, the Kingdom of Roslauten, home of the vampire race, would need a new ruler. Reluctantly, Silen agreed to his father’s pleas to take Eletha, Princess of Alrakis, as his bride. He was coxed with many suggestions on why this was a good idea. Her beauty compared to no other, or so they said. Their elvish Kingdom united with the vampire Kingdom would give them an advantage over everyone else. They spoke of the possibility of future children and how the hybrid child would have powers unlike any have seen within their world… All of this sounded great, the only problem was, he did not love her. To be fair, he loved no one. Silen was not known for soft and warm conversations. Those he considered for romantic interests, much like all vampires, were done out of a need to satisfy pleasure - and if one found a mate, that was a sacred partnership highly respected by his people. To Silen, this was a sham of a marriage and done out of a need for power and nothing else. The people within his Kingdom also frowned upon the arranged marriage and respected Silen for initially disagreeing to unite the two kingdoms due to the complications with their customs. There were rumors of a war on the horizon, how this was a trap and Eletha would be used to gain information to tip the balance - this was, of course, all lies. Fear had a way of warping conflict into every conversation, and it’s all anyone could talk about within the realm. Everyone knew about this marriage and

what it meant to have Silen and Eletha unite. How the power would increase within the seven Kingdoms for Alrakis and Roslauten… “They arrived hours ago, along with their select few to witness the marriage between you and Princess Eletha - all that stands in the way is walking into that room and finishing the ceremony,” said Silen’s counselor. He was a man with a long white beard, pale skin, and dark grey eyes.

“The Princess and her servants had their belongings escorted to the West Wing of the castle, where no one will be allowed to go until we know for sure the castle can handle elvish blood within our walls. It is dangerous to have anyone here due to the temptation of their blood. Guards will be stationed at the West Wing entrance, no one goes in or out, however, the Princess will have full access to the gardens and views within the castle.” “This is a disaster,” said Silen. He finally turned around to look at his family, all of them with hopeful expressions that this would go well. “Other than to create a child and maintain a unity between the two Kingdoms, there is no other requirement to see her beyond our meeting this once - is that correct?” “If that is what you wish, my Lord,” said the counselor. “Though you may find other reasons to see her again if you give your wedding night a chance...” And there it was, the look that made others cower backward. Each of them shrank into their respective seats and braced for the fury that was about to embark upon all of them. Silen’s anger was evident. His face contorted with detest for this situation. Call it an energy, a rage, a type of invisible warning that could be felt deep within one’s core - Silen had a way of tainting his surroundings to make everyone uncomfortable and question their moral compass. Strands of dark hair hung over a judgmental gaze, which often changed color depending on the lighting. And the few words he spoke showed the tips of fangs that had taken more lives than one could hold against their conscious without regret - yet he felt nothing for the dead, or this forsaken marriage he was about to embark on. “I will never forgive you for this mistake we are about to ignite…” The room cringed, and when Silen left they followed him out of the royal chamber. He walked the halls of the castle through shadows and darkness. Rain drizzled out the open windows and when he used both hands to push back the

metal double doors to the ceremony, a gust of wind blew through the room causing the candles on the walls to flicker. As Silen walked up the red carpet leading to a podium where Eletha stood, every member of Silen’s council took their respective seats on the opposite side of the room from the elvish Kingdom. This would be a quick ceremony, and a wicked night between Silen and Eletha… @Sevin

Dasha There had been many weddings throughout her life at the elven kingdom but none had ever been witnessed by her eyes. Only the aftermath of a well celebrated ceremony. Here she expected much the same and many things to be different. Such was the way of things were they not? Dash had never found weddings to be particularly spectacular, people married with faith their union would be an easy one. Few had such luck even the ones born of love. Hours inside the vampire kingdom was enlightening, just not in the way she’d hoped. Many of the people found joy and happiness under the rule of their king. Fair was one she’d heard many times and one she trusted the least. Truths were always stretched if only a little to accommodate the story being told. Isn’t that what made a good story? Embellishments, dramatic flair and much much more. Dash wondered and moved about with ease and undetected for the most part. Absorbing the culture and idea of this place and all the people within. As the ceremony came to its inevitable end Dasha moved back to the chambers set for her mistress. There she worked slowly, diligently to handle each and every article of clothing, soap, scents, and other more personal belongings. Arranging her mistresses dressing table just as she liked them, folding cloths in such a way to not wrinkle. Everything had a place, an order that Dasha followed without question. Every so often dark amber eyes flittered to the window, darkness and the clouds covering the sky, blocking out stars and moon. A soft ache shivered along her spine, over her body until the darkened hue of her skin prickled with gooseflesh. Eletha: Seeing Silen for the first time caused an involuntary smile to lift the fullness of her lips. Pale pink stained her smile as she stared at the dark vampire. Their ceremony was lavish, not so bright and colorful as weddings in her own kingdom but still beautiful. Eletha studied him, absorbing every inch of him as if it were her right. Did a sma

ll part of her think he was beneath her? Maybe just a little. It didn’t however show in the cold paleness of her gaze, so blue they seemed ethereal in nature. Much like himself, he looked every bit as wickedly handsome, unearthly, and devastatingly handsome. All hers, such a prize to be sure. In that moment of thoughts a smile etched along her face again, wider and more meaningful then before. That rare smile that showed more than it should. “It is a pleasure to finally meet you.” She said, her voice a sensual timbre that ghosted her lips like the whisper between lovers. Slender body moved with a fluid graceful motion that left her seem more like she glided or floated. Long waves of frost white lifted in a flattering updo with wisps of tendrils to move about her angelic face. Arched brows delicately posed in such a way that made her seem regal and timeless. Once at his side she stood beautifully, arching upward as to give advantage of her figure. “The journey was pleasant and your men most accommodating. My father wished me to pass on his blessing for our union, for the kingdoms to flourish together, and for us to find happiness together. I myself believe we will do well together side by side. I am sure you could not believe your luck, my father has turned down many matches for me, wishing only the best. I was a little nervous at first but the wisdom of our fathers stands correct.” She offered in her most regal voice, pristine and sensual.
