Invitations were sent out far and wide. Klaus von Faust, heir to Glyswing Kingdom also known as the Silver Sanctuary, was hosting a ball. It was always winter, but it wasn’t always cold at the Silver Sanctuary. The aqua eyed prince grew up alone without interaction with the outside world. Though despite this, the prince still had a kind heart.
The night of the ball, he didn’t make a formal entrance, granted he was already there, just not many to no one would be able to see him. It was certainly a night to be remembered. Royals and well dressed commoners danced together under the palace roof.
Prince Faust left the crowded ballroom and went to the rose gardens. He took a deep breath of cool night air and smiled. He was happy to see the halls filled with townspeople, and hear joyous music. Something he had missed growing up, with the early passing of his parents.
Soft footsteps caught his attention and the prince hastily put his mask back on. “Please don’t hide your face, Prince Faust. You have a kind gaze for as much as you suffered.”
Klaus narrowed his eyes at the young woman facing him. He always had an appreciation for the ones who knew more than they let on. “You can see me? Hm.”
The prince gently broke off a dark purple rose and passed it to her with a slight smile, before going back inside to the crowd.
She watched the prince leave and turned the rose between her fingers. The color was often associated with love at first sight, but also healing and protection. With him no longer in sight, she followed and went back inside after him. Her gaze scanned the crowd for any sign of him, but to no avail. She held onto the rose as the palace halls soon emptied.
How odd. It was like the prince pulled a disappearing act. There was no sign of him as the guests left and even as the last to leave the halls, the only memory of him was the rose in her hand.
