Myra turned her head to look at her brother, dragging him along behind her as they walked. She couldn't help but smile, he seemed tense and nervous. She understood, it wasn't everyday you stumbled upon a well in the forest, especially when they spent years trying to find the portal to a magical kingdom. She smiled, squeezing her brother's hand in hers. "Hey Mavey, it's okay really. There is nothing to worry about. If this isn't well in mom's stories then it's fine, we can keep looking. As long as we get to hang out, that's all I care about ." She smiled
Maverick gave a small smile, nodded as they walked. He was afraid of what they would find, if this really was the portal, what were they supposed to do. In their mothers stories she had said they would have to be invited to get in. What if someone was waiting there for them, just to hurt them and kick them out. The six foot eight man sighed softly, trying to keep up with his sister as they walked. He didn't speak, just nodded at her words of comfort, he knew she was right, he just hoped everything would be okay if and when they found this well.
The two suddenly came to a stop, staring at what was in front of them, the well. The well was grey and broken down, it seemed to have been built years ago, almost a hundred years if Maverick had to guess. As they got closer, the weird feelings they both began to feel grew. The two tightened the hold on each other's hands as they looked into the well. It was dark, and seemed to go on forever.
Myra gulped looking at Maverick. "Do you want to put the coin in,Or me?" She asked softly, trying to stay brave, but the uneasy feeling of being watched, caused her to feel very unsettled. When Maverick pulled the penny out of his pocket, he put it on top of their held hands. Signaling they would do it together. Which she didn't mind at all.She nodded "Alright, on the count of three. "
