Kai Elo Davínche BOT 21-Jul-22 01:23 PM
It was a rather risky debut. The Devinche family was willing to begin an all out war with their rivals. They wanted to be the only respectable jeweler in town, with not a speck of competition. Kai Elo's father, Giono, had his sights set on the mountains of money that would come his way if he could only rid the city of any other jeweler that dare defy him and his decades-old family business. They had decided that a select few of men would go to the opposing store, scope it out, and bring back any information they could in order to be one step ahead of the others if that meant they would win the battle for the top. "You may not go with them, Kai Elo. You will be recognized." Yet, here he was, suffering the consequences of his disobedience of that day. He and some of the men had gone into the jeweler, and for a while Kai had believed that it was going fairly smoothly - until he had been spotted by one of the young women behind the glass counter. "Hey... isn't that Giono's son?" She said, which sparked an all out brawl over the countertops of the jewelry store. Somewhere along the brawl, one of the goons of their enemy had grabbed Kai's jacket, which had a few important items stashed away in the pockets. A family heirloom, a cash clip that had the family name engraved into the solid gold piece, and a piece of paper that had his father's safe combination that he had poorly handled. After all, the combination number should've never been written down in the first place. His father would kill him if anyone ever managed to break in and take their things that had been stashed there... which is why he stood outside of the large home, allowing the pouring rain to wash over his clothing and soak him right to the bone. A sigh left his lips, puffing out a cloud of cigarette smoke from his last drag before he would drop the butt and snuff it out with his heel.

"Game on," he had mumbled to himself before he walked briskly to one of the side windows he had just watched a woman close behind her and forget to lock. It was sheer luck that she had done so, but Kai wasn't about to let the chance slip through his fingers. After watching her leave the room, which seemed to be a little reading corner that was piled full of books, he placed his palms against the glass and gently slid it open. Stepping over the side of the house and through the window, the young man looking down the hallway after the woman to see if she had gone. He couldn't see her anymore, so he wondered silently down towards another open door. He thought the most likely place for his jacket would be a study. He just had to find it. It didn't take too many doors to peek into before he finally found a room with a desk and a desktop computer. Once walking in, he shut the door behind him and began to take a look around. There was plenty of things, including a small area to sit around a very nice, probably genuine oak coffee table, and a large bay window that faced the mountains to the west. Kai frowned as he began to give up hope, knowing he had little time to find his jacket before someone would find him. He had to hurry. He almost decided to just leave and tell his father what had happened, so he could face the wrath and his family could protect their money elsewhere before he turned around and saw it. There it was, hanging on the back of a little chair in the corner of the room. The brown leather with slightly worn edges was recognizable anywhere, and that lifted a whole ten pounds off of his shoulders. Kai rushed over to it, picking it up and fishing through the pockets. The paper was there but... the money clip. "Fuck..." he mumbled, as he swiveled his head around to see where else that damn money clip could be. @Nakachu

Nathalie Giordano BOT 22-Jul-22 08:12 PM
It had been two days since the brawl had happened in their shop. Her family had always known that it was a dangerous business to get into. The Davinche family didn’t take kindly to those who tries to wrangle customers from them, yet the Giordano’s knew that they had higher quality product and could steal plenty of tat money away for themselves. It had even mostly been calm and smooth going until the son of Giono showed up at their place. In a way it was good that he had, if it had not been for him they would not have known that they were being spied on. In the very least they had discovered it before showing their big show pieces that they had for sale. The brawl that had came from it had been heavy and explosive. Even Nathalie had not came out unharmed, having taken a grazing shot on her arm. She was still unable to lift her arm above her head and was bandaged in bright white bandages. At least nobody actually got killed and they had even managed to get some important information in the process when the jacket of the son had been ripped from him. Inside his pocket had been a safe code that they had noted down in their own thing as well as a pure golden money clip with the name Davinche engraved into it. And it was that clip that she was playing with in her hand as Kai was snooping around their place. Of course she did not know that at the time. She was lost in thought as she walked around her own home, her heels softly clacking against te floor. As she walked past the study some movement caught her eye and she stopped in her tracks. She couldn’t help the soft smile on her face as she saw who it was. Her hand going to her boot where she had a knife hidden and pulling it out just in case. She heard his mumble and as he turned around would come face to face with him. The golden clip still in her hand, the knife visible in her other. “You are very far away from your home.. looking for this?” She asked him with a grin. “Don’t do anything stupid.. there are plenty
