Alexander Hellscythe BOT 10-Aug-21 01:34 PM
It was his 19th birthday, Alexander had become a strong and aspiring man, who studied and worked his hardest to become fit for his dream girl - Julia Bellwind. A dark mage. In his eyes, there was no girl, cuter and more interesting than her. He was told often that someone as low as him, would never be fit for her, as he's just a mere boy. To fix that, at an early age of 15, he started to study hard, force himself to become better, and relentlessly train in many areas, such as magic, sword fighting, and literature. He had one thought in mind, to confess to the girl, he worked so hard for. She arrived at his birthday, and silently took part of the party, as if she felt obligated. And near the evening, the worst thing possible happened, she told him the news of her marriage, a knight had proposed to her, and she took the ring. At that exact moment, Alexander felt an enormous dread cold in his blood, as if all he worked for was for nothing. His heart felt as if it was stabbed with a sharp blade, his motivation, for doing what he did, was gone. At that moment his mind went blank, and his heart was void of purpose, all he remembered was... he must become better and better. His entire drive was for improving himself. Over the years, many woman of extreme beauty or cuteness had approached him and tried to win his heart, but all of them, couldn't get past first short words. Many rumors spread around about Alexander being disinterested in woman. But only the closest people to him knew, the true reason behind his state, and the church knew it far too well, but nobody could convince him to do anything otherwise. He was stubborn as a rock. Even threats of death wouldn't convince him to marry a woman. He was lost cause in the eyes of many people. He's now 27 years old, and working alone on his studies, becoming one of the most powerful people in the continent, yet he can't get, what he always had dreamed of. In his eyes, he's nothing!

Alexander is sitting in his laboratory and reading a long text in ancient language "...И тогда агон стал и принес своево жертво на МИРЕ" Right from his arm, a small flame escapes the finger, barely warming up the air. "Alright, so you must put more accent upon the flame and direction... put more diction upon this sentence.... and stress out the ending for this part here" Alexander right after turned over his page and looked at the bottle that was holding napalm fluid. "If I can light up the fluid with magic, it would go out in an instant.... however the process of casting a spell is extremely slow. Yet these writings talk about wizards who could cast them in their minds...wait, so that means people were able to think in extreme speed?" The idea comes to mind about the psychedelic drugs, that were recently discovered, which caused the person to feel as if the surrounding area slow down, which is a clear indication of increased mind processing speed, however the test subjects also talked about a severe head pain. Alexander was stuck in his research, which was getting him nowhere. The magic was something he managed to recreate, but he could not make use of it just as adaptive and good, as the ancient scriptures talked about. This was frustrating him, as nothing before could be as difficult. He clearly managed to create a gas out of water, which would make a huge flame, but he still couldn't cast a simple spell. He could create a tool, that would turn wood into a flammable gas, but he couldn't cast a spell that would make wind slash an object. This was clearly a humiliating defeat. He returned back to the books and continued to read about increasing mind speed, and soon he could find several notes about a plant, that was used in rituals, to cast an extremely complex spell that required only 20 seconds to cast. He thought about the plant, and found the name 'Eritriculate'.
"Hmm... I think I read about that plant somewhere, just where....." * He started to grab the botania books, and glanced over every page in a diagonal pattern and turned to next page within a second.* At the end of the first book, he failed to find any records. Then he picked up the next one and continued his search, until, on page 124, he finally found the name. However the text was not pleasing to him "mmm znznzn... And the plant was to be destroyed on every fields and all the seeds to be confiscated by the church and not given to people, as it was proven to be lethal to every one who had tasted them. Last indication of there being a plant... over two hundred years ago...." Alexander placed the book back in the shelf with a disappointing look on his face. "Hmm... if I cannot get the plant, maybe I can find out what the plant was composed of, so I could replicate it." Having this bright thought, Alexander returned to the botanic books and continued to search for instances of the before mentioned plant "znznzn.... mmmmm.... Eritriculate, a flowering plant, which is thought to have originated from... This is hopeless. Those plants don't exist for more than thousand years!"

Knell was in the garden, his-her, their duty for the day was to wash and hang all the sheets from the many beds within the abby he lived in along with about fifteen other nuns, a slew of orphans, a few homeless, some travelers, and poor souls seeking salvation. As well as the priests and male members of the clergy who lived in a separate wing of the massive church and abby. It would be a long day. Though, Knell didn't mind. He enjoyed the quiet gentle work of washing and hanging the now pristine white sheets fresh from the blessed waters of the garden fountain that stayed clear and clean enough to wash and drink from for years without being changed. The garden was massive as well, surrounded by the abbey itself the garden was a courtyard filled with many flowers, carefully trimmed hedge sculptures, various charms, and of course the fountain that was the pride of the garden fixed perfectly in the center.
Knell hummed a soft tune he'd heard long ago, possibly from his mother, possibly from the nun. Maybe he'd heard it on one of his errands considering the bards who littered the streets playing their lovely music for little coin. The kingdom Knell and the church lived withen was the second largest in the realm, filled with wonders and people Knell would never see or meet. He was confined to this place and the small section of Kingdom where he ran errands for the church, in his childhood counted himself lucky to be so beloved and safe, but he was turning twenty soon and he'd began to long for more than this humble life. He did his best to hide and scold himself for these thoughts but with every passing day they came more vivid and every more frequent. Few at the church knew of his true nature as a male, with his bright eyes, soft structure, and pump cherry red lips he could never be mistaken as anything but a young woman. And though his hair and body was hidden under his habit he was still lithe and curved, and his hair was grown long and luscious. The now elderly nuns who raised him since age 11 knew of his true nature, and only one priest Father Zander. They kept his secret guarded tight, and he appreciated their discretion. Sometimes he would catch his reflection in the fountain, or the silverware he polished, and would wonder if he was truly a girl, or a mistake of nature. A cruel joke. Knell pushed the thoughts away, turning his full attention back to the sheets in his care.

Alexander laid back, feeling defeated. However at that moment, when he was feeling the most frustrated, someone was knocking on his door. He went to the door frustrated and opened it wide open "Who in the Gods name is wandering around at this hour!" In front of him was a messenger from the church, giving him a letter from Father Zanders. He thanked the messenger and closed the door behind him. Going back to the chair, he opened the scroll and read it's contents. And ofc, it had text written in there, that would make him both irritated and confused. THE CONTENTS Dear Alexander! Recently a well known priest had read in his book about the prophesy of the end of the world, that could arrive after 40 days. We are unsure, if any of this is true, but we have been worried about the possibility. The book stated, that the end of the world might happen, when the gates of hell are open. But we don't know when... or where is this event going to take place. We know all about your sorrow, but what we know more, is that Julie had passed away a few days ago. It seems that her husband strangled her. He was executed the following day for his atrocities. But I think that you would want to be there when we are giving her our final farewell, so please come to the church tomorrow. Back to RP After reading the Letter's contents fully, Alexander felt enraged, he smashed the glass that he was drinking his tea from, in his hand. He felt enraged and couldn't bare with the news. "I CURSE YOU! SIGURD! I CURSE YOU!!!"
"I warned them, I knew this might happen. I TOLD THEM! Nobody listened to me. Now I won't listen to them... I don't want to live, and so they won't live. Everything will be over soon anyway, I don't care. I have nothing left to care for...." Alexnader then calmed down and looked at the photo of Julia, thinning about what she would do in such situation, and decided that at least he would do is indeed go and tell his goodbye. He dressed in this black robe and went right outside of his house, locking the door behind him, and asked for a chariot to lead him to the Saint Julian Church, at this pace, he should get to the church in the early morning

Knell was half way through his work when a young nun in training came up to him and tapped his shoulder. Knell turned to her in surprise and smiled brightly. "Oh hello Ragina, how may I help you?" He spoke in a silk and rose toned voice. The nervous novitiate twiddled with her white habit, glancing up from under her brow at the older nun. "S-Sister Knell, I-Im am supposed to be aiding Father Zander during this morning funeral service, b-but-" the poor girl burst into tears. "I'm not ready! I fear I may pass out at the very sight of a body! I-I-I-I don't know what to do!" The fifteen year old fell to her knees and hugged Knell knees, pulling gently on his habit. Knell's already soft eyes smiled along with his cherry lips as he knelt down to gently rest his hands on Regina's shoulders. "Oh dear Ragina...don't fret, I'll explain the situation to Father Zander and we'll work through this together. Fetch a stool from the wash closet and finish this sheets for me, I'll take your place at the funeral" The young girl gasped as her eyes lit up and a snot covered watery smile filled her lips. "You are truly a godsend Sister!" She sniffled as Knell wiped way her tears with his habit. ~ Knell dressed in his funeral cloths with is bare, humble room. They were not allowed any decoratives or belongings that didn't invoke pure thoughts and devotion to their god. Though, Knell snuck in a small piece of parchment that he hid with the door of his closet. It was a poem written to him by his mother they day she knew she was passing on. A soft smile crept over Knell's lips as he red the paper once more before returning it to it's secure hiding place. Actual knells began to ring from the funerary chapel, he had to hurry.
After finishing dressing he ran outside through the stained glass arches that overlooked the garden, the colorful light shimmering on his face as he ran. as he approached the entry to the chapel he didn't notice the tall long blonde haired man stepping out of a chariot, and the two collided sending both to the ground below.

Alexander had barely any sleep during the ride though the night, and during the ride, he didn't have enough sleep either so he was a little startled by the collision "Argh, who in the Gods name! Do you know where your eyes are?" The huge cursing, alerted Father Zanders, who went to see what is the rucks going on. Seeing Alexander on the ground was amusing thing to see. He had a mild chuckle out of the entire situation. Alexander stood up and noticed that it was a nun who bumped into him, and he quickly wanted to fix the problem by extending his arm and helping the nun stand up. "Please forgive me sister, I haven't had any sleep this night, so please excuse my rude behavior. I am not in the best of shapes right now." Father Zander smiled at the situation, seeing how Alexander is still kind to Sisters. It was a rare sight certainly to see Alexander kind to any other woman than Julia, but there was another reasoning. Alexande felt safer, knowing that no Nun would ever try to seduce him. Alexander then turned to Father Zanders, and in his formal soft voice began to talk "Father. I know you as my best friend, so I do know that what you might ask of me is a request that you knew only I could do. I know that you always supported me when I talked about how Sigurd might be the one who kills Julia... And you protected me from all higher ups, who thought I am going insane." Alexander took a deep breath and looked into eyes of Father Zander "First I want to pay my respects to Julia. We both know what she meant to me. After that... we should look into the books. I must see the sources first hand to figure out what is the prophecy about." As the carriage went away, Alexander remembered an important step, the greetings. "Almost forgot." "The Lord be with you." Father Zander shakes his hand and replied "and with your spirit!" Father Zander then pointed at the crowd gathering around the church and said.
"We will soon pay our respects, so I expect everything to go smoothly. Please come along.... And I am glad that you still remember the customs. I do think that you are the only fitting person to bear her cross, and bring it to the grave site. I don't know anyone who was as close to her and loved her as much. But there is one thing you must understand. We all have our problems, our struggles. And some day we must face them, understand why God made us the way we are, and accept it." Father Zanders then looked at Sister Knell and nodded to her as well, indicating that he was talking to both of them about the exact same thing. What it meant, was up to each one's interpretation Alexander nodded, and then went alone to the coffin, to look at Julia. It was their last time seeing each other, at least in his mind. The only woman he could truly love. Even now as she's asleep in grave, dread, her face looks the same, peaceful, almost as if she's smiling. It was too much for him. Alexander broke down in tears, looking at her face. Everyone around knew about his true feelings and the entire situation, and with understanding mind, they decided to overlook it

Knell gasped as he was hollard at but smiled nervously as a handsome magician helped him up. Ah, this must be the widower. Knell wasn't familar with the goings on of this particular funeral considering he wasnt ment to be a part of it today. "Forgive me sir, I wasn't looking where I was going, my condolences for your loss" he spoke with a little nod before dusting off his funeral habit. After Alexander and the Father finished speaking Knell explain the situation of why he was there to assist instead of Regina. As the funeral commenced Knell did his duty, placing the correct robes over Father Zander's shoulders, lighting the ritual candles at the proper time, and assisting the Father with anything he needed at the alter. Father Zander was the only man in the church who knew of Knell's true nature, and for his secrecy he trusted him immensely. Knell looked over the morning man he'd just so recently tackled to the ground. He must have truly loved her. True, pure love was rare within the church. At least what Knell had seen seemed so. Marriages often from necessity and church intervention over true love. A familiar sad thought entered Knell's mind. The fact he'd never find love. Not only was it against his vows, he was seen as a woman by the entire community. Even if he did take the risk of falling in love the man he did so with would surely reject him and have burned at the stake. Catholic funerals were long and a drawn out afair, but eventually it was time to begin the funeral procession. It was a short trip considering the cemetery was only a few yards behind the abbey.

Alexander was sitting at the front chair, sitting alone, not approached by anyone. People feared him, and for a good reason. He was after all, one of the most powerful men. Known in the whole continent Father Zanders asked everyone to think of the greatest time they had with Lady Julia, who recently passed away... The smile she gave to everyone, or some accident that left a smile on their faces. Alexander remembered the first time, he met Julia. He was 12 years old, his parents were dead by that time, so he was taken under the custody of the church. One day he played around and bumped into her, the lady in all black. He noticed how beautiful she was and said it right into her face. Julia smiled at him, having a small laugh. That is when he got attached to her. He liked Julia. She had come to Father Zanders for an advice about the dark arts and helping people. It was a conversation, Alexander wouldn't understand, but he knew it was important. His next memory was when he was 15 years old. He remembers saying how he would like to marry Lady Julia one day, but father Zanders told him that he must become really strong to become fit for her, and that such a small and weak boy would never be fit for her. Alexander however was determinate to become strong than he is right now, and those words made Julia chuckle and give a kiss on his forehead, saying words 'Well then, if you become a powerful man, then I don't have any problems having you as my husband.' However Alexander's dream would never come to fruition, because of what happened 4 years later.... Alexander placed his arms into knuckles and felt small rage and regret. Standing up and wanting to leave right now.

Knell finished up Regina's funerals tasks, he was free to assist the Father with anything he needed and converse with the mourners. The young nun was speaking with an elderly woman who Julia had helped many times with the pain of old age. He glanced over to see the man he'd knocked over a few hours ago. He look vaugly familiar...he'd definitely seen him at the church before. He looked important, and exuded power. Knell had little knowledge of the world outside the abbey. He was aware that there were powerful people throughout the kingdom, be had no idea this man was the famed Alexander Hellsythe. He assumed him to be the deceased's widowed husband. Knell's excused himself from his conversation and walked over to the mourning man. Knell was good at reading people, dispite his relaxed stoned face he knew the tall man was stressed. Knell walked over him slowly from behind, gently resting a hand on his shoulder. "Forgive me for running into you this morning, I suppose I didnt help your mood any." He chuckled gently in his gentle feminine voice "Is there anything I can get for you? Water?, A handkerchief?" He asked softly with a cute close eyed smile. His bright eyes and plush cherry lips beautifully highlighted in the golden rays of sun cast through the stained glass of the massive church windows.

The memories were going through his mind, like a film, that would spin around and show the events, recorded picture by picture. But this was suddenly interrupted, leaving Alexander sit there, and realise that he quite possibly was daydreaming in his memories. Alexander wasn't that much found of strangers approaching him, or for that case, anyone to approach him, without his specific permit. On top of all that, being touched was something that he hated. Whenever someone would touch him, a cold feeling would go down his spine, and sometimes his reactions would range from cold shivers, to outright defence mechanism, that would make someone back away from him. When Kneel placed her arm on his shoulder, he felt instant danger and would back away a little. Looked at the nun and then placed 2 + 2 together, realising that perhaps she wanted to ask something. He didn't want to make a huge scene out of this small inconvenience, so he just stood up and smiled at the nun, even if he was not feeling well. "Thank you sister! And do not worry about the encounter. Please be vary about your footsteps, and be on your alert as always." Alexander then decided that it's best to head and speak with Father Zanders. As there are several unfinished business yet to discuss. He backed away from Knell and walked to Father, asking him for when will the burial ceremony take place, and how much time they have after.
