Tall buildings rose around the blue haired siren as she nervously flew unnoticed by the humans down below. Her eyes wide with all sorts of new sounds and smells as she looked for somewhere less busy and safe to land. The flapping of her wings causing her hair to fly ever wilder than the wind itself. She was growing tired, it had been days since she had left her home island to escape her sister's anger. Her body was growing weaker by the minute and she didn't think she could hold out much longer. Skye spotted what looked like a large mass of foliage and it had a perfect hill to land on that was surrounded by a lake. She silently thanked the gods and flapped her wings with the last amount of strength she had and began making her descent. As she dove she flew along side a small group of birds and she smiled, there were so many new creatures to discover and Skye couldn't contain her excitement. She reached out a hand to stroke one before leaving their flying pattern. She wasn't paying attention and before she realized it she flew into a trees branches and tumbled downward. Her wings wrapping around her to protect the main bits of her body. The ethereal looking wings shimmered blue as she landed with a loud thud on the ground. "Ow ow ow." She rubbed at her eyes that were beginning to fill with tears. She may not have been majorly hurt but Skye's bottom would be bruised for awhile. She opened her eyes and looked around, unsure of what her next step should be.

Evi had been strolling along a sidewalk, that circles the lake when this had happened. She had her walking cane out in front of her, trying to act like a normal human being. The cane tapped along where ever she walked. Evi was perfectly aware of her surroundings, the faint thoughts of people every once in a while could be heard. Aswell as their voice is heard by Evi. The bird chirped quietly, some had their wings flapping in the sky as they flew by. It wasn't until Evi heard the thought of someone.. above her? She lifted her head to watch the entire scene happen. A flying person.. interesting. Evi had seen many things but this.. this was a sight. Her wings were see through and she had talons. Evi watched the girl get distracted, but before Evi could speak she had already crashed into a tree. Evi gasps, looking around to see if anyone was around yo see what she was about to do. It one quick motion she dropped the cane right there and ran up the hill where she had last seen the.. flying human. It took her a minute, but before long the panting of someone could be heard and soon, a dark brown headed woman would come into sight. From what the bird could tell, she looked beautiful.. but she had a blindfold over her eyes. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay?!" Evi didn't care about the walking stick, she had seen supernatural beings before, so she could care less what they would think. "Um.. b- bird, are you okay?!" She fell to her knees and places a hand on the girls arm. "Are you o-.." Evi was suddenly caught by the girls beautiful.. ocean blue eyes. 'Oh wow..' She would think.

Skye rubbed her bottom as she saw a brown head appear. She hadn't thought any humans were around to have witnessed what she had just been doing. Panic started to take over and she quickly backed up. Had the woman heard her voice? She swallowed the building anxiety trying to calm herself. Surely if she had she would be in a trance, and that clearly was not the case. It took a moment for Skye to register that the beautiful lady before her had asked. She had opened her mouth to speak but then thought better of it and clamped her mouth shut tightly. Instead she would nod her head. How am I to communicate if I can not use words. Skye was frustrated but there wasn't much she could do. Instead she patted the woman's arm to indicate she was fine. She tilted her head, curious as to why the woman was wearing a blindfold on her face. Skye closed her eyes briefly and focused her energy on making her wings recede. When they were gone she would open her eyes again and try to stand, but instead of succeeding she stumbled and landed on top of the other woman. Her face flushed a flattering shade of scarlett.

Evi examined the woman, looking her up and down slowly. She had heard the bird talking in her mind, but she too busy looking at the gorgeous creature, literally gorgeous. She got caught on her own trance, that was quickly broken by a hand on her arm. Evi slowly tilts her head to look at the hand, a smile slowly forming on her face. When she looks back up Evi would soon notice her wings suddenly.. (disintegrate?) into mid air. "Woah.. wait hold on.. you can still communicate with me without using words, but I need you.. I need you to relax for now." As much as Evi didn't want the girl to, she would get up anyways. Evi motioned her to stay down, shaking her head. "No no, relax relax hu- Ahh!" Evi lost her balance, not expecting the girl to suddenly stumble into her. Evi wraps her arms tightly around the girl as Evi fell back. There was a loud thud, and now Evi lay on her back on the ground. Skye was on top of Evi now. Evi inhales a bit hard, having her breath knocked out of her. A soft chuckle leaves her mouth, and she began to softly rub the girls back. While Evi caught her breath, she would speak through her mind. 'Look at you, a blushing mess. Hehe. As I was saying before, you need to relax. Can you tell me your name darling? I'm Evi, Evi Mercer." Evi continues to run the girls back. "Just like you, I'm a supernatural being, but I'll get more into that later. Are you from around here, do you have a home in the area?'

Hearing the woman speak inside her mind her eyes went wide with confusion and excitement. My name is Skye. Just Skye." She shook her head side to side, *I'm not from here...I...come from somewhere else... She didn't want to elaborate, didn't know if it would be safe to. She swallowed the rising fear at the thought of her sisters and took a deep breath. She continued to lay on top of the other woman, her eyes staring at the cloth across her eyes. She reached up with a hand and touched the edge of it carefully. Why do you wear this? You're a supernatural creature too? Skye had so many questions.

Evi giggles at the confused look Skye gave her when she suddenly communicated through her mind. Evi nods. 'Well Skye, that is a very beautiful name. There is nothing to be ashamed of Skye, do you have a home somewhere here in the city?" Evi noticed when she mentioned her home that something was wrong, though she decided to keep it to herself, and ask her at a later date. 'If not, I don't mind you staying with me. I own a little apartment at the edge of the city. I.. don't have an extra bed, but I do have a futon at the end of my bed.' Evi smiles, letting Skye get a glance at her pearly whites. As soon as Skye went to touch the blindfold, Evi would quickly raise her other hand and wrap it around Skye's wrist gently. Evi shook her head, pushing her hand away from the grey cloth. 'I.. well..' Evi huffs and releases the gentle grip from Skye's wrist. 'I shall not speak of it in public darling. Too many.. listening ears and watching eyes.' Evi lifts her hand back up and brushes some hair out of Skye's face, clearing her voice. "I am, however, I think it would he safe if we get you someplace safe. Don't want you getting seen now, do you?"

Skye shook her head when Evi asked her if she had a place on the city. Of course the siren had no clue about anything in human society except for what they could find from the wrecked ships, and even then it had never been much. She tried her best to stay away from the humans because her sister's would have forced her to kill and she didn't want to do that. She pushed the thoughts away and tried to focus on the gorgeous woman in front of her. Skye wondered if maybe she was a siren or a goddess, with her looks there was no way she would be anything less. She blushed again when Evi offered to let her stay. I...I don't have anywhere, no. This city you speak if... are those the large buildings I flew past? She asked excitedly. She was almost bouncing with energy before she realized she was still laying on the other woman. Oh my goddess, I am so so sorry! Evi listens to the girl talk. In her head.. she had quite the nice voice. Just the sight of the girl, and the way she sounded sent warmth throughout Evi's body. Whatever this girl was.. was gorgeous. Evi would eventually place one of her hands on the girls cheek, gently caressing it as she talked. That moment didn't last long, and before she knew it, Skye had jumped off of her. Visual sadness in her eyes as she apologized. Evi shook her head and giggled, suddenly getting caught off guard by her scrambling to her feet. Evi managed to get herself up, not as quickly as Skye had, but at her own pace. As she got up, she spoke. 'Yes darling, the buildings you passed are part of the city.' She was now to her feet. She looked down and brushes her clothing off, front, and back as best she could. While Skye spoke, Evi would have continued with the brushing and wiping of her shirt and pants. Evi stopped in her tracks, a blush beginning to form on her face after what the Siren had said. 'I- I.. well.. Skye.. I appreciate the compliment. I assure you that I am not angry or upset with you in any way.' Evi finally finishes the brushing, turning around to look out over the lake towards the buildings. She turns to look at Skye, her eyes wondering down to her feet. 'Oh.. well..' Evi turns her head back and looks up and down the sidewalk that circled the lake. "Hmm.. my home is right there.." Evi turns back to the Siren and looks at her feet, before raising her head to look directly into the sirens eyes. "Do you trust me? If so, we mustn't waste time." Evi held her hand out with a soft smile. "Don't be shy.. I'll tend to your wounds at home aswell."

Skye didn't understand why Evi kept looking at her feet, they were like that of any other siren she had ever seen. Was there something wrong with her talons? She stared at her feet as Evi continued to speak. When she asked if she trusted her Skye was surprised to find that the answer was yes. She wasn't sure why she felt down in her core that this woman she had just met could be trusted but she knew it and wouldn't question it. She nodded her head, her teal colored hair bobbing with her head as she did so. Skye took Evi's hand and swallowed, the physical touch of another person sent little shocks through her hand down to her talons and she wondered if everyone had the same sort of reaction. Skye swallowed and looked around. I do not think I am too wounded...I have a few scratches and my bottom is sore. She squeezed Evi's hand and found herself rubbing the back of it with her thumb, the sensation very pleasant to her.

Evi leads the girl down the hill to where she had dropped her cane. 'I don't care..' She says, reaching down to grab her cane, she held it in her hand, didn't use it for walking or anything. She bent back up, leading the girl quickly along the side walk. 'I'm gonna tend to your wounds whether you like it or not. I'm not gonna let such a magnificent..' Evi turns to look at the girl as she walked. '..beautiful.. creature have her wounds unattended.' She looked forward, slightly pulling Skye to tell her to hurry. Evi rushed the two along the path around the lake. She couldn't let this girl get caught, it would be bad for the two of them, but mostly Skye. Poor Skye would be captured.. and tested like.. like a science experiment. She didn't want that for Skye.. Evi didn't know what she wanted for the bird girl.. but whatever it was, Evi was determined. Determined to keep the girl in safe hands instead of letting the government get her. Something kept telling Evi to take care of this girl, protect her, and she was also determined to do that aswell. The two made it around the lake in good time. Ahead the sidewalk split into two paths. One led back around the lake, but the other led to the buildings. People could be seen walking on the other side of the buildings, and thankfully.. Evi's house was one of those buildings before the busy roads. Evi rushed the girl even more, taking her into a sprint now down the sidewalk to the building. 'Hurry!' She said, panting a bit as she ran. The two quickly made their way to the back of the building where Evi all in one motion twisted the handle, opened the door and dragged the two inside the door before closing it. They ended up in a laundry room, a couple machines whirling as they washed clothing, or dried clothing. "That could've been.. very bad Skye.. but we are okay. My room is just a couple stories above this one. I'm sorry for rushing you." Evi turns to look at the girl, reaching up to brush some hair from her face. "Do

Skye held Evi's hand as she began to run with her, her mind reminded of what it felt like when she flew, her heart filled with joy. She tried to get a look at the things around them but they were running so quickly that she didn't have the time. Skye had heard the people on the other side of the building, wanting to say hello and see if they were as friendly as Evi but when she had told Skye to hurry she obeyed. When they entered the building with the strange whirly machines Skye stopped, her breath a bit ragged. She placed her hands on her knees and tried to catch her breath. Skye broke out into laughter, her heart and eyes filled with merriment as she looked at the other woman. She shook her head and looked at her. No, I am fine...can we do that again? She beamed a smile showing her pearly whites to Evi. When she had caught her breath she heard the whirring of the machines, and curiosity got the better of her and she had become distracted. She went over to one of the machines and bent over watching as the weird fabrics spun in soapy water. Her eyes went wide and she turned to Evi. What is this thing? It looks fun! She turned back to watch it spin around and around over and over, her head following it's motion. It didn't take long for the girl to get dizzy and she held her head before turning to walk back to Evi. Okay..maybe...not so fun. She frowned as she stumbled and grabbed Evi's shoulder to steady herself.

'Erm.. not.. right now darling. Another time, okay?' Evi giggled and watches the woman get her attention easily taken by the washing and drying machines. This tore Evi apart.. the amount of innocence that Skye was showing was so.. adorable! Evi loved it, and it filled her insides with happiness. It was obvious Evi was following the motion of the fabric, and Evi didn't say anything. She crosses her arms, nodding at the statement. She was waiting for Skye to gat dizzy, which she did. Evi chuckles a bit. "Oh Skye.. they are washing and drying machines. Made to wash and dry clothes. Next time.. maybe not follow it with your eyes. I wouldn't want you throwing up now." Evi takes the girls hand. "We will have plenty if time to explore later darling, for now it would probably be best if we got to my room. I need to.. well.. cover you up." She would say, not wasting a second to chat. They were already on the move again. Though this time she moved cautiously. Evi couldn't hear anyone. No thoughts at all. It sounded.. empty. As the two began there journey through the building, cautiously stopping before corners to peek around them. They would soon make it up the stairs to the second floor where Evi's room was. Evi begin to walk a bit faster a door suddenly opened down the hall and Evi took off at a sprint basically dragging the girl on her feet now. Evi busts through her door and quickly pulls Skye inside behind her. Evi had pulled her so hard that they would soon find themselves in the position they had found themselves in earlier. Evi had pulled Skye so hard that Skye would run into Evi knocking her to her back. Now Skye lay on top of Evi, again. Outside the person would have walked by without even noticing at all that anything had happened, and the door was WIDE open. Evi waited, putting a finger up to her mouth to hush any words that would leave them. After a bit, Evi would give a smirk, suddenly bursting out into laughter. "O- oh my gosh!" Her face got serious for

a moment. "That was so close!" She would return to laughing, wrapping her arms around the girl to give her a big hug. "Ohhh my gosh I'm so happy I got you here safe darling." Evi buries her face deep into the girls neck. "Are you okay darling?" Evi would ask rubbing her cheek against Skye's neck.

Skye blinked, she didn't understand what sort of game they were playing but it was fun. The running and stopping, the peeking over the corners. It all was thrilling and she was a ball of energy at the moment. When they made it to the floor Evi had wanted Skye was full on grinning and even more so as Evi pulled her faster and harder to prevent them from being seen by anyone. Skye still didn't understand the problem, she looked like every other siren out there in the world, did humans not have wings or talons? They always wore strange foot coverings so she wasn't sure, and the fact that her sisters never let her see the corpses of the humans, after all she had been the youngest of all the sirens on the island. She thought back to the island, her sisters and how they would lure the humans to their islands for their own entertainment. Skye never quite understood it, but if they played the sort of games this woman was having her do then Skye could understand why they lured them in. She just didn't understand why the humans had to die. Skye was snapped out of her thoughts as she bumped and fell on top of Evi again, a blush creeping across her cheeks but the smile still plastered on her face all the same. She held her breath when Evi held her finger to her lips, unsure of what was happening. Her blue eyes went wide as she heard a person walk by the entrance to the tiny building inside the bigger one. When Evi started laughing so did Skye and she rubbed her face into Evi's hand; she really enjoyed being petted by her. Mm. Are you Evi? Am I squishing you? She tilted her head, her teal colored waves of hair falling to envelop Evi's face like a curtain. My heart is beating rather quickly...but I am fine.

As much as Evi didn't want to, she gently pushed Skye off her, making sure to help lay her on her back so she didn't hurt the Siren. She grunts, getting to her feet, before helping the Siren up. Evi clears her face and kicks the door closed. She lifts her hands to place them together breathing in deep, before letting it all out audibly. "Listen.. Skye.. you are.. well.. if you're going to be staying in the city, we need to cover your feet. If anyone finds out what you actually are, they will take you. You'll be stuck in a cell and experimented on.. tested, all that stuff. I refuse to let that happen. So from now on, outside, you are a human. Understand?" Evi takes a step closer and places a hand on her shoulder. "Now I know it'll be a big change for you darling.." She reaches up with the other hand to place it gently on her other shoulder. "..but I cannot let that happen. The moment you stepped through that door you became my responsibility. I'll gladly teach you the ways of a human life. I'm gonna need your help though.. outside of this room, I am handicapped.. mean I'm blind. Which is the next thing I would like to talk to you about. The blindfold, it stays on. No matter what, you do not take this blindfold off of me, do you understand?" Evi all of a sudden got serious. Though it was for Skye's safety, everything she was talking about was for Skye's safety.

But Skye stared at the blindfold and tilted her head, she wanted to see the gorgeous woman's eyes. Her mother had always told her that the eyes were the window to the soul of a person. It would show you who they were inside, Skye was told that was how you knew if people meant good or harm. She shrugged and rubbed her index fingers and her thumbs together in nervousness. If it was so dangerous out there Skye was beginning to regret leaving the island. I'll just stay here. Skye sat on the edge of Evi's couch and looked at her talons. I will trust in Evi. Skye swung her feet and her talons tapped the wooden floor beneath them. Skye winced and frowned at Evi. Sorry I didn't mean to ruin your floor...

We don't have to discuss this now, but if you blend in with everyone outside.. you'll live a much better life.' Evi turns away for a second to look at the time. She thought about going to the store to maybe grab some shoes for Skye. Her train of thought was suddenly broken by the tapping of Skye's talons. 'Don't be sorry, it's okay darling. I am pleased to know you trust me though.' Evi flashes a quick smile at the girl before moving herself closer to Skye. She gets down on her knees and places both hands on the girls lower thighs. "Look at me Skye.." Evi pats her legs a couple of times, until Evi met eyes with the girl. "You'll live a much better life here.. however not all of it will be good. Don't trust others the way you suddenly trusted me.. there are bad people. Not everyone is bad, but.. I want you to promise me you won't just keep yourself inside here for the rest of your life."

Skye nodded her head after looking and listening to Evi. She didn't understand yet what it meant when her heart skipped a beat at 3vi's hand on her thigh. Okay....but first now...this will be my nest? She blinked at Evi and yawned. The truth was she really had been flying for days, only to stop long enough to take a short break. She didn't really need to eat so that wasn not necessary on the stops but the constant use of her wings took a toll on her. She looked at Evi and rubbed her eyes. I've been...flying for days...sleep? She leaned over and let her head fall onto Evi's chest. The sound of the other woman's heartbeat a soothing sound to hear, it reminded Skye of the waves near her nest when they hit the rocks, it sounded like home. She made a soft satisfied sound and nestled and promptly fell asleep. Evi...

Now that Evi was finally looking at Skye long enough, she noticed that the girl did look tore up, tired, exhausted. How long.. had this girl been flying? Something bad must've happened to make this girl fly for so long to get this tired. Now that Evi finally thought about it.. they were a good 2 hours from the ocean. "You poor thing.." Evi would speak softly. It wouldn't be long before Evi's question was answered. Days?! Oh my gosh.. something definitely happened, but Evi had yet to know what it was. Evi got lost in her own thoughts trying to think of the reason why. Surely.. well.. maybe she got run off her island from other sirens? Evi didn't have much time to ponder on it, because before she knew it Skye had leaned forward to lay her head on the girls chest. Evi huffs, reaching around to grab the girl by her bottom to hold her. Evi stumbled a bit trying to pick the girl up. She wanted to make sure she was comfortable, and Evi knew for a fact the couch wasn't. It was a leather couch, and tended to make you sweat A LOT, if you tried to sleep on it. 'Skye..' Evi spoke gently into the girls ear, turning to walk into her room. In her room there was in fact a futon at the end of her bed.. but was it really necessary for the girl to sleep there? Evi had enough room on her bed, and wanted Skye to be comfortable. She thought for a moment and nodded to herself. She slips into the bed, with the girl sound asleep on top of Evi. The girls breathing was soft, and Evi could feel each breath she took while Skye lay on top of her. Evi let her hands rest on the Sirens back, a smile spread out across her face. This was.. a new experience for Evi, and she liked it. She tended to keep to herself and not really get out much, but this.. this was a huge change! Evi finally had someone who was similar to her, well, that

she knew of. From then on it would be her teaching Skye to live like she did. Was it the right thing? Evi didn't know.. but the girl was adorable, and well.. simple to Evi. This wasn't a bad thing though, it just added to how much she is gonna enjoy taking care of Skye.

Skye slept for hours, at some time during the night she had rolled over and spread herself out, her hand touching Evi's face. At some point she fell off the bed and woke up abruptly. She had never slept on such a weird contraption before and it looked bouncy. She poked it as she sat on the floor, her hair a wild mess from tossing and turning. It was indeed springy, she glanced at Evi, she couldn't tell but by her breathing patterns Skye thought the woman was asleep. Not wanting to disturb her she crawled out of the room before standing. She was careful not to scratch the wooden floors. She wandered around looking at things that caught her interest. There was a big box that seemed to hum and she walked over to it, her head tilted. She touched it and it felt cold, the thing wasn't made of stone and Skye pulled on the handle causing the door to open. There were lots of strange smaller containers with what looked like food to Skye. She had seen some of the things humans had carried on their ships and they always fascinated her. She especially liked tasting the sweeter things the humans made. She opened a box but it smelt like fish and Skye had had enough of that particular smell for a lifetime. She found a bright red and white can and picked it up. She couldn't read the words on the thing but she easily figured out how to pop the cap off. There was a weird nozzle on the cylinder and Skype tried pushing it down, it didn't do anything though. Next she tried pulling it but that didn't seem right either. Finally Skye pushed on the side and white stuff that reminded her of clouds hissed and spewed out of the thing and she jumped. The cloud like stuff landed on the floor and Skye bent over to stare at it. She poked it and it didn't disappear like an actual cloud. She scooped a bit on her finger and sniffed it, it smelt sweet so next she placed her finger in her mouth. Her eyes going wide at the realization it was the sweetest thing she had ever tasted.

Skye stared at the can again and grinned; knees to chest she cleaned up the rest of what had spewed out before running to the bedroom with the can of sweet clouds.
