I’ll write a starter soon @Vox the Diver

Rain plastered their hair to their skin, clothes into cement weights. His bare feet were smeared with mud, his pants drenched black. He was lost. His head was spinning. Memories of faces blurred with the people around him. Some gave him money. Others kicked him away. But he loved them all. And yet here he was, the woman in his arms. The rain pooled and ran in rivulets across her face as she cooled. The rain quenched his fevered skin and diluted his bloody tears. His mouth ached, stomach twisted in knots. He held her tight as silent sobs made him shake. He sat across the side door of the apartments, the door still cracked. He got up and nudged inside, barefoot trail of bloody rain steps leading across the tiles to beneath the stairs. He curled up beneath with her, keening softly. @.𖥔 ݁ ˖ 𝒮𝒶𝒷 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝒹𝑔𝑒𝒽𝑜𝑔 ✧˖°

Raven would be running from work to home, the rain falling hard on her as each footstep was in a puddle splashing everywhere. She forgot an umbrella this day and it just annoyed her not thinking the rain would fall this hard on her Upon approaching the apartment where she lived,not knowing the horrors that just happened moment before she arrived, Ravens run became a light jog.. the light jog becoming a walk as she’d just accept getting soaked in the rain, not like it mattered she was only 2 block away from her apartment 2 minutes pass Raven would enter her apartment place a nice little area heading towards the stairs since she only lived on the second floor besides, if she took the elevator she risked getting others wet and she didn’t want to. Her hair wet stuck to her face and back , her clothes drenched as she push open the door. Only too see the horrors of a crime scene Blood. Fresh. Raven wanted to scream but she covered her mouth before she even could. She felt sick to her stomach, as she gaze towards the blood And the small trail of blood.. Fuck *she thought her eyes widen seeing the blood trail on the tiles her eyes followed the tiles seeing it stopped beneath the stairs Raven panic but bit her lower lip in anticipation as she approach slowly and cautiously, bending down to see him and the dead women’s body.. analyzing closer she saw the bite marks, as she then slowly looked up to Knox who was crying? A vampire crying over their actions threw her off guard she didn’t know weather to act scared or feel sympathy But she stare at Knox speechless unsure what to say. He glared at the face looking into his space, the quiet place that was his. "Go away." His voice was hoarse and sore. He looked worse than he was as his tears were red staining his eyes. She'd seen the commercials and the warnings. Bloody tears and blood shot eyes in red, black, green, or yellow. Heavy bruising, abnormal teeth, swollen or cut lips. Abnormal hair or nail growth. He held that picture well.

Shed stare at him, and when he bared his fangs at her shed Jolted slightly afraid. She didn’t know what to do in the exact moment. She took her phone out about to dial the number .. having it ready on standby as she stare down at the 7 digits on her phone and back up to Knox She saw he was in pain, emotionally and mentally as she lowered her phone next to her, she’d lean slightly shaking a bit offering a hand towards him. The vampire , he just looked confused and Raven felt pity for him “H-hey I’m not here to hurt you.. o-okay…” she say in a calm manner her voice quivering in the slightest staring at his fangs in pure fear but she wasn’t going to let that get the best of her “Take- take my hand… we should get you out of here… before someone finds us and actually dials that number” she’d softly say, she’d heard tales and rumors of vampires amongst the humans but never expected it to be true @Vox the Diver

"I'm cold..." He murmured softly, the woman laid next to him tucked under the stairs. He carefully slid out from beneath the stairs and stood, bent and holding himself to keep warm. Shivering softly his hair hung in wet locks of dirt and rain. He was thin, his clothing quite ripped and rough like he'd had been outside. He seemed mostly lost and hazy. Sick and trying to figure out where he was. "Really cold." He thumped the base of his hand into his head with a soft groan. It'd be easy to hide her. No one searched after corpses anymore.... "I don't know where to go..." He mumbled but set behind her like he'd follow.

She stare worried looking at the frail vampire. She analyzed him head to toe, seeing his hair was wet from the rain.. and dirt? His clothes, ripped definitely didn’t look comfortable. She note that he didn’t even seem in the proper state of mind. Raven would gently grab his arm as she’d softly say “I got you…” *gently stroking his arm with her thumb. This poor thing. This so called vicious beast was nothing but a scared bunny . As she guide him up to the second floor and to her apartment. Upon opening the door the two walked in, as Raven would close the door behind and guide him to the living room, and sat him carefully on the couch. Before she scurry off she’d grabbed a fluffy blanket and wrapped t around him and then ran to grab towels and old clothes that were her brothers. She also grab med kits as she made her way back to Knox. She’d set the clothes neatly folded next to him, sweats a hoodie and a tee, as she then take the towel and clean him off, every rubble of dirt from his hair and on his body @Vox the Diver

He let her, idly watching her fuss. Her scrubbing bruised some of the thinner skin of his legs. They both decided to stop... well Knox did. He shuffled his body away and would bare his teeth when she tried. He agreed to a shower after he seemed to realize what it was. He sat in the bath basin with the shower head to warm himself up once she left him alone. He came out clean and in the new clothes and tugged back on the blanket around himself. Holding the edges he wedged his back into the corner of the couch and shut down. He was still twisting the thoughts in his head, trying to settle. He didn't know why it bothered him. He couldn't remember when he was like them. His eyes skimmed to Raven then back to the floor when she looked to him, pretending he hadn't been staring. when he bared her fangs at him she immediately backed up, it was like a abandoned dog growling and snapping when it was scared as she backed away nodding, she wasn’t going to push it. When he reluctantly agreed to a shower she’d guide him to her bathroom, a nice modern style style of bathroom, big for a 1b 1b apartment, as she lay the clothes she provided on the sink for him as she left him alone As he was showering raven took note into how hungry he was and how cold he was, so she brewed tea for him and put out some snacks like crackers and cheese — as she realize, vampires like blood. She’d gulp hesitant to provide some but didn’t go for it, she figured she’d ask him if he needed any blood and only then would she allow him to feast on her When he came out the shower Raven looked to him with a kind smile as walked to the corner of the couch and sat he was greeted with warm tea and snacks next to him, as raven would sit on the opposite side of him “Are you feeling better?” shed slightly tilt her head now @Vox the Diver

"Feel warm." He said softly, cautious and debating what she was intending. He carefully took a cracker cautiously eating the corner. "Why are you helping..." He eventually tsked softly. He behaved nearly a frightened child, his long legs folded to his chest beneath a blanket. His hair was dark and shaved into an undercut, barely growing in his turning. His split lips were stinging from the salty crackers and he licked them, stomach finally starting to relax. It isn't my fault. I had to. Her dead eyes were still staring at him. "Isn't it against the law for you to help..." He murmured again head tipping softly, slow blinks making him look tired or in thought. He was too still, making Raven slightly unnerved. A statue sitting across from her. Raven reminded him of someone he couldn't remember. Her earnest behavior made his heart hurt.

Raven would offer a kind and gentle smile , despite feeling discouraged. She look at his body language, That of a freight children she decided to ease off, she didn’t want to make him scared any longer as she got up off the couch, walking a good distance back from him to give him all the space he needed. As she gently spoke with a hopeful, kind tone “I’m helping because I want to… I don’t care if it’s against the law to help a vampire. You were scared. By the looks of your eyes, your body language I can tell yours fledging.. and I understand you had to get blood one way or another” she say she knew a lot of vampires as she studied them in her free time “I’ll give you space to breath. To relax okay? I understand your scared and I want to let you know, it’s not your fault. If you need me” she point to her bedroom door “I’ll be in there, okay?” she nod slowly “And.. shed pause hesitate as she said this “and if you need blood, let me know. But you have not to fear.. I won’t hurt you okay? I promise” as she pivoted her back to him “My names Raven… by the way so if you do need me just say my name.. okay” As she begun walking to her room @Vox the Diver

They both woke to knocking in the middle of the night. Knox quickly hid out of sight, angled down the hall so that if he must he could come from that direction. Two men were at the door, apologizing for the hour. "Earlier today a corpse was found in your building. Though the vampire has moved on we are still testing occupants. Will you bring forward everyone in the apartment." The two smiled to just keep the other calm. Knox hesitated, leaning against the wall. He worried they'd come in. Watching her silently, Knox kept his mouth shut hoping she'd play it clean. @.𖥔 ݁ ˖ 𝒮𝒶𝒷 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝒹𝑔𝑒𝒽𝑜𝑔 ✧˖°

Raven looked rather furious as she open the door slightly to see these men. The Audacity they had as she scoff “I’m sorry You guys woke me up at 5 in the god damn fucking morning for THIS!?” she say venomously “I wont let two men in my apartment when I’m alone so go do your investigation else where! Perhaps start with why we don’t have better security on the front doors! For fucks sake there’s no cameras and you morons really think I’ll be harboring a fugitive vampire.” she’d scoff leaning slightly on her door frame blocking their view into her apartment “I value my life too” she’d step back flipping the off slamming the door shut hoping those men would leave. Raven was clearly furious, definitely not a morning person, her hair was messy her shirt draping slightly to expose her shoulder and upper chest @Vox the Diver

He caught the door so it couldn't shut that way smiling as charming as he can, "I apologize for her mood gentlemen... afraid a bit of misplaced rage." He smiled lightly. His grip tightened on the back of her shirt keeping her in place. "We're happy to do the scan." He reassured. When the two held up the eyescanner she had no alerts. Raven could see the difference in Knox's appearance. He'd cut and reshaved his hair and trimmed his nails. His skin was a more normal peach than the sickly white and grayed it had been. He let them scan his eyes and the two left with a warning to obey officials. Knox shut and locked the door huffing, back to it. "What the hell do you think you were doing?! Are you trying to get yourself arrested!?" He barked angrily, far more active than he had been. He sighed dropping his head forwards and sunk to the floor. Seeing that the door didnt shut all the way she was confused until she heard him spoke, this make her jump out of her skin! she didnt even realize he was behind her until she swivels to see him. A new look? she scan him up and down confused on he even found the time for that given that this was a short notice inspection, and his skin flushed a peach color-- now she had to *know how he did that, how he was able to mask his vampirism in a matter of seconds, as the two scanned her apartment Raven had her hands fold the entire time just annoyed and tired... all until he angerily said that her mood switched. "Excuse me I DIDNT HAVE TO TAKE YOU IN?!" she bark back with anger and sadness "For once in my life I thought I was doing something nice and this is how im getting repaid!" shed dramatically throw her hands in the air as she stormed off shouting as she walked "I SHOULD HAVE LET THEM TAKE ME AWAY IF THIS IS THE THANKS IM GETTING!" *and with that shed slam her door shut, her heart dropped to the floor. what. the. fuck. @Vox the Diver

"That's not what I meant!" He said softly moving to follow but jerked to a stop when the door was slammed in his face. He stared at the door, then sighed. He slunk down with a soft sigh, sitting on the floor. He fell asleep sitting in the hall, hands on his lap, head tipped aside. Apart from a necklace, he'd still worn the slightly too small clothes she'd given. They made his arms and legs look gangly and thin like a dolls. The necklace looked like a dog tag, a small metal square with rounded corners stamped. She had to step over his legs to get out the hall. @.𖥔 ݁ ˖ 𝒮𝒶𝒷 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝒹𝑔𝑒𝒽𝑜𝑔 ✧˖°

Raven would end up falling back asleep for another couple hours, as she woke up with a clear head and mind. She run into the shower taking a hot, steamy one to just think of earlier events. Why did she even help someone like him if that’s really how he was going to repay her. After a good 20 minutes, she’d change into sweats and a sports bra as she’d open her door not seeing him at first as she’d trip over his legs falling “Uf!” she’d catch herself with her elbows and turned her head back looking at Knox. He.. he stayed outside her door waiting for her? She’d sit herself up and stood up dusting herself. Her hair was damp at this point as she’d rub her elbows , as they started to bleed slightly “Did you need something ..?” she look to Knox confused @Vox the Diver

He blinked awake confused as she fell, "I wanted to say sorry. I spoke wrong." He noticed her arms and grabbed a medical box, digging through it for bandages. "Those men don't treat humans any better than they do the sick. I got stressed. I didn't mean to snap." He sighed softly tearing open a bandage with his teeth. Tucking them over her scraped elbows, he swiped them down flat over her skin. "I can be out by tonight if I must." He announced gently voice quiet. He didn't want to be out so soon but he was already straining her to hide him. "I will bring you money to repay you when I can..." His hands trailed off her arms, then stepped away head down morose.

Raven was caught by surprise when he patched up her wound. A fledging like him wasn’t tempted by the sight of blood?. “It’s fine.. you don’t have to apologize it’s my fault.. I usually get very cranky in the mornings, *especially when I’m forced awake” she’d dryly chuckled as he finished patching her wounds hearing his slight voice change and looked at body language. Shame, pity, and sorrowful. Raven was shocked a vampire could feel that as she sigh titling his head up with her finger maintaining eye contact “you can stay here as long as you need to but I have a couple rules.. 1) don’t snap at me.. please, I’m putting myself in huge risk and danger.. and by keeping you I’ll still be learning your needs , wants, desires etc.. so I ask that you just stay patient with me no matter what… 2) “If you need blood…you can bite me But you have to ask before hand.. I- don’t want to get attacked” she’d rub her neck, hinting softly at the fact he killed someone “deal..?” @Vox the Diver

"I wasn't under control. I am not normally so... impulsive." He said softly crossing his arms about his stomach, leaving his chin on her fingers. He eventually pulled back, "I'm returning to sleep." He advised but his decision of where took a moment. He eventually tugged open the hall closet and sat in the back corner out of the way, and shut the door behind him. If she'd open it he didn't wake, leaning against the walls. Raven furrowed her brows at his behavior. Seeing how he went into a closet to sleep. She figured he wanted to be in pure darkness, away from windows and sun lights. Makes sense. Not bothering raven would run out her door closing it behind and locking it to grab some supplies, returning in a hour, as she open her door, and closed it with a bunch of supplies, blood bags curtains bed sheets clothes. She’d walk to her guest bedroom and put on the blackout curtains up, making the guest bedroom pitch black, the only light was the room light, she’d the. Make up the bed with new sheets and covers as she the. Lay out the clothes that would hopefully fit him on the bed and the blood pouches next to it. She’d then walked to the closet door and kneeled down placing her hand gently on his face as she chuckle lightly “Hey sleepy. If you can hear me I have a surprise for you” shed quietly whisper @Vox the Diver

He startled suddenly, grabbing her wrist. He quickly let go realizing and remembering the situation. Apologizing softly he rubbed an eye on a knuckle, carefully sitting back. He got up carefully when she started to explain to him, then standing in the doorway of the room embarrassed. "You. Did this. For me?" He blinked confused and trying to sort out his head. He held tight to his necklace, staring forward into the room with conflicted thought. "Thank you..." He added after a moment, thumb stroking the metal tab of his necklace. "I'll... repay you for it. Raven gently smiled shaking her head “No need to repay, I want you to feel like your a home.. okay” despite what he said to her hours ago, she put it past her, she couldn’t be all to mad at him, afterall he was confused and scared so she needed to first learn to be patient with him shed then notice him holding to his necklace as she raise. A brow “If you don’t mind me asking… what’s the importance of your necklace?” @Vox the Diver

"Identification..." He unhooked it and held it out. One side was worn flat. He had it for a long time. 'Knox' ID: 7923-A He tucked it back at his neck and under his shirt. The rest of the day, he remained in the spare room with the door shut. The next time she saw him was on the television.

Raven would analyze his tag, curious. Never having seen a vampire with an identification code, as she’d nod takin that into note. As she left she’d notice he’d close the door, not bothering she knew he needed space and time to adjust, so she gave him all the room and space he needed Raven would be in her room doing some research upon vampires mainly on their diets, blood moons etc.. mentally and physically preparing herself if he were to attack her one night, as she takes a break and turns her Tv on listening to the news only made raven grew more anxious, the way they described him made him sound like a monster and it scared raven that Knox was just putting on a facade. As she leave her room only to jump back startled seeing knox “Jesus!” she held her heart not expecting him to be out here “Hey.. are you feeling any better..” she approach closely to him looking up at him @Vox the Diver

"You believe that shit?" He gestured to the tv annoyed. He didn't want her to be afraid of him. She had no reason to fear... He crossed his arms quietly looking aside. "I am fine. Thank you for your concern." He needed to move. Staying this close to humans, and so stationary would be trouble. "Also... a good amount of that stuff is wrong. The government only allows some information into the public." He added, seeing her research. "It's wrong or so extremely cut down its mostly useless." Most of it was the same as old legends. Vampires drank blood, were functionally immortal, and predators. It was well known there was two facilities for the sick; Evertown and Coldtown. The full extent of what was known beyond that, the sick kept very close to the vest. He tucked his hands into the shorts pockets, leaning back on his heels, bare feet in the carpet. “Well not all of us are super natural vampires, of course I’m worried, compare to you I’m a light snack!” she retort back “A flimsy human, so excuse me for just being worried about myself… besides I know not all vampires are bad, clearly if I took you in” she place a finger on his chest “And good… I’m glad your feeling better…” she’d say still in that “rude/sassy tone, I mean even doing her own research she knew the Tv was wrong but it never hurts to worry about oneself when he mentions bank cards and a train ticket she’d remove her finger of his chest “Wait— your leaving?!” she say a bit shocked as she walked to grabbed her laptop from her room and then walked out to the sofa as she sit down opening it waiting for Knox to join her, there was no point in convincing him to just stay.. if he wanted to go as she’d sigh “Here come here, I’ll show you” @Vox the Diver

"I need to send tickets to a friend." He said gently in explanation. He didn't seem one for outbursts. She has enough energy for us both. "It isn't quite for me yet." He said softly, sitting down on the couch with her. He at least knew his bank and card number by heart, requesting a new one to be delivered to an anonymous P.O. box that he also knew on command. "Thank you." He nodded slightly, smiling gently, "I appreciate the help." Rubbing his eyes with a knuckle, he yawned and turned his head slightly away, revealing his teeth were sharp all the way back. He had no molars, only canines and four flat teeth in the front mimicking humans. "Last time I used mechanics it was a flipphone." He chuckled finally seeming somewhat relaxed fully. Shed gaze at his teeth, ouch.. to be bite by those looked painful as she gaze away nodding “yeah.. of course” shed hand him the laptop explaining what he needed to do, as he would log into the bank statement and whatnot, Raven watching over his shoulder pointing to the screen where he needed to click and what to type “And flip phones?! "Much older than you." He stated without much intone but the amusement was clear in his eyes. He had meant it merely to tease, rather than pointedly avoid. He got up to tuck into her kitchen, finding a glass for water. He fumbled it and caught the plastic cup before it hit the floor and was just quietly cussing while he fiddled about. Poking about cupboards he found lemonade powder and opened the container, nose wrinkled. He dipped a small spoon into it curious of what it was. She knew he'd tasted it when he grimaced gagging and bent to drink water out of the tap to get out the taste of the sour powder. He put it back away delicately and shut the cupboard like it was poison, nose wrinkled. "Do you work? Or go out? I'm curious of you." @.𖥔 ݁ ˖ 𝒮𝒶𝒷 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝒹𝑔𝑒𝒽𝑜𝑔 ✧˖°

Raven snickered watching him try the dry lemonade as she’d turn her head back around to face her laptop typing away “I’m in school.. we’ll to be exact med school trying to get my Doctorate, I study humans and supernaturals in my free time, hence why I am well versed in vampires” she’d say closing her laptop as she’d pushed it aside “I uh I do go out I like clubbing , bar hopping when I can but being in med school isss a bit hard to do that” “Not to mention harboring a vampire in my apartment” shed tease getting up walking to the kitchen, as she grabbed the lemonade powder and a cup of water, scooping the powder into the water and mixing it so it fully dissolves handing him the lemonade “And by the way that’s how you make it.. it’s sour but good.. if you don’t like it I have regular water and the blood bags for you” @Vox the Diver

"I don't drink humans anymore." He murmured, sipping the lemonade and making a face at the taste. He wasn't sure if it could be considered 'good' or not.... "Tomorrow I'll go out for hunting. You don't have to worry about my food." He smiled rinsing the cup delicately. He relied pretty heavy on touch she realized, often working with his eyes shut or looking in completely different directions. He took in stimuli differently. "I quite like normal food. Even if it makes me Ill. Worth it." He smiled again, lips tight across his teeth. He wanted to get along with her, debating how to do so. He didn't quite know how to go about a conversation.
