The boy stood up with the help of the were-girl, and followed along with barely a hint of reluctance. He had no idea where he was, and he didn't know how far from home he'd become. It might pay off to follow her, since she'd seemed kind so far, ignoring her initial aggression.
After about 20 minutes the two arrived at a cave. It was an enclosed space that seemed to grow more welcoming the closer to the light the two became. Eventually the growing light became a constant warm hue emitting from a small pond that the cave had been hiding til just then. The beauty emanating from the small pond was a miracle to the boy, glowing plants send refracting light through the still waters that shined it upon the rocky walls.
The boy stared at the dazzling scene, quietly nodding in answer to his young companion's question, and then the words that followed...
When the girl grasped his arm again to gently push him forward he saw her reflection. Her reflection was cute, an opposite to his vacant scene. He knew what would come if she put two and two together, but he hoped she knew it wasn't his fault. He was born this way, he wasn't even fully grown yet. His thirst for blood was nothing a pig or squirrel couldn't satiate. His appetite was as justifiable as a human's.
But the girl wasn't quick to justify him. "Why don't you have a reflection!",she shouted at the vampire boy.
He raised his arms up and shook his hands in a small panic. "I don't know...that's just how God made us. Please don't be mad." ,he said in defense of himself. A normal vampire would have control of its senses, abilities, temper, and thirst, but the young boy, as dangerous as he could be, was no more a threat to others than he was to himself...
