Baylee Thorn BOT 23-Apr-23 01:45 PM
it was another day at the Thanks-a-Latte coffee shop. A small quaint area in the town of Langley Falls. The population less than 70k. Langley was known for the towns people and more importantly their Mayor, Julian Thorn, the father of Baylee. Julian became mayor of this city when he was about 35 and has just been re-elected for this term, so Langley was celebrating over his victory. Upon the celebration, thank-a-latte was doing a sale buy 1 coffee get a snack for free. There’s where Baylee was rightnow. The fair skinned women working behind the counters with her black hair tie in a messy bun wearing a black visor and blue apron over herself. The coffee shop was packed with costumers. Not only was the only coffee shop in town but it was fairly popular thanks to the Mayors daughter who worked there part time. Having that caught and drew a lot of people into the shop. It was a blessing and curse. As the town was celebrating a parade happening down the street caught Baylee’s attention almost spilling a coffee as she yelp quietly catching it before it fell and putting it on the counter “sorry about the Johnny” she awkwardly spoke her bright blue eyes glistening in the sun as Johnny stared at her in an awe and chuckled picking up his coffee and snack “no worry sugar.” hed wink as he go take a seat. Yup.. this was Baylee’s life.. getting hit on now and then by men who wanted her attention for bad intentions or good? Who knows Baylee never gave it to them. She knew as the mayoral daughter there would be plently after her.. so when you walked into the coffee shop. You slightly caught my attention. I’ve never seen someone like you before here in this small town.. after-all usually locals came here so I knew all the faces but yours she’d shrug it off thinking nothing much of it, perhaps a visitor stopping by? A new comer who knew. As she’d step up to the register and spoke “can I take your order” looking at the man @zerome1295

He hadn’t been around here much. Everything was new to him. Every little store and boutique he stumbled upon had probably been there for years, but to him, they were uncharted land. Most of them he didn’t investigate further, but this little coffee shop had seemed intriguing. Even though he enjoyed his coffee mostly plain and black, he was here for a fresh start. So why not try out something new he didn’t really do before? He had passed the shop window a few times already while he was on his way to his own newly opened flower boutique. Today he had finally found the courage and time to step inside and take in his surroundings. The air smelled sweet with a pungent note of distinct coffee. It wasn’t sickening, but at least something he would need to grow accustomed to. It was unusual, but probably pretty normal for anyone who spent more time here. The people around him didn’t seem to mind. Most of them were occupied with their own beverage or pastry of their choice, quietly talking or scrolling through their phone. He didn’t pay too much attention to them, not when he had to figure out what he wanted. The options seemed endless, some of them pretty cryptic, with names similar to the shop's name. Wordplays on different quotes and the like. He couldn’t really figure them out and didn’t want to spend too much time pondering over them. He already held up the line. Slowly stepping forward, his brow furrowed with a questioning look on his face. The woman before him smiled towards him, asking for his order. She was beautiful with her bright blue eyes and her round face. She could’ve been a model, and he understood why most of the customers appeared to be male. They probably all tried to get her number. It seemed a bit pathetic, but this should probably not be a thing he spent too much time thinking about. He was asked a question. He should answer and not brood silently any longer.

“I’m sorry to say that I’m not too sure yet. I’m a bit confused with the names and their meaning. Can you recommend something not overly sweet to me?”, he asked, reciprocating her smile, while shyly scratching his chin. He hoped he hadn’t made this encounter nay more weird than necessary. As long as she didn’t think he was flirting with her, it would probably be fine.
