Caleb felt like he was waking up from a deep sleep, a dreaminess still coating his mind like a fog on a spring morning slowly retreating. It always felt like this, the small moments of clarity whenever he was coming to. He didn't know the time but he assumed it was midnight, the usual time where he regained a sense of consciousness although the sun shining through the window told him otherwise. He walked towards the window, more of a slow hovering that looked like walking but the closest thing he had left to it. There were very few times when he would wake up before midnight, Halloween and the anniversary of his own death were the most consistent but there was another. Anytime someone new moved into his old house he would awaken, not enough to really do anything but enough to be aware once again. Looking out the window he saw a moving truck not unlike all the rest he had seen over the years since his death and rebirth. It wouldn't matter, they would move away before he ever got close to being his old self again. The longer someone stayed the more real he became only to get pulled back like a dog on a tight leash once they moved away. He wondered how long the woman outside would stay and how long he would be able to stay awake. @predictable_.

The morning sun made itself known, shining brightly onto the busy city. India had never lived in a big city before, so moving here was one big decision. After her brother convinced her to do so in order to be closer to one another, she searched the web for an affordable home to stay in. Surprisingly, she found a house for quite a cheap price. After contacting the realtor, she found out that the reason for the house being so cheap was because a person died in it a long time ago. India wasn't going to miss her chance out on the jackpot, so here she was, early in the morning moving her things in. She didn't have many things to move into her new home, mostly furniture and dressers. If she had done the moving in herself, it would have taken days or maybe even weeks. Luckily with the help, she was all moved in within a few hours. The house was spacious and cozy. It was a bit old, but she could make it work with the help of some decorations and good spirits. Currently, India was organizing the living room area. She cleaned off her coffee table before placing a purple vase with flowers in it. The couches were a pretty shade of sky blue. The walls were painted in a coat of brown, but she was sure to paint over it sometime later once she was settled. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb had watched in silence from the bedroom facing the moving truck as new things were brought into his home, or the woman's home he supposed. He was dead, what use did he have for belongings like a house anyway? It really spoke to the boredom of his half existence that watching someone unload furniture was entertainment. He watched for a while before making his way to the lower floor, just phasing through it so he could avoid the stairs. As the sky blue couch was brought in he floated onto it and laid back as if he was relaxing in it until it was down. He knew he would look stupid to anyone who could see but that didn't matter anymore and a silly game was still a game. He repeatedly told himself this while doing the same with every other piece of furniture. When everything was unloaded and things were getting set he looked around to see his home once again very different from when he lived here. He had long ago stopped caring about what was changed or how strange decorating seemed to be compared to his own life. Things went on and people's taste changed after all. Admittedly when he saw his first television he had panicked. Leaning down he tried to sniff the flowers knowing he wouldn't smell a thing but wanting to try. @predictable_.

After India finished decorating her living room, she decided to take a break. The woman grabbed a bag of chips from the kitchen and a bottle of water, returned to the living room, and plopped down on the couch. She let out a happy sigh of relief, turning the TV on. India flipped through the channels on the TV until she found a movie that interested her. She spent a while watching the movie and snacking on chips. She hardly ever had time to herself, so it felt good to do something for herself. Even if it meant just sitting down and watching television. ---- Hours passed until India finished moving everything into their places and decorating her home. It was a late afternoon, around 5PM. She was currently taking a hot shower. It helped relieve any tension in her muscles, and it also felt pretty amazing.

Caleb had watched the woman decorate a while but before long his sense of self began to fade, a feeling like slowly drifting off to sleep without being able to fight it. When he came back to he wasn't sure how long had passed but he heard the shower going. He began to drift around the house examining the boxes and new furniture trying to find a way to entertain himself while avoiding the bathroom. Sure he couldn't be seen but he wasn't the type to watch someone bathe without them knowing he was there. Caleb made his way up to the room where he had sat and watched the woman pull up and looked around. He felt real again, moreso than he had for a while anyway. Looking at the unpacked boxes he reached for them and found himself with a little bit of effort able to interact with them and even open them revealing mostly clothes and knick knacks. Slowly he began to empty the boxes keeping the laundry folded and laid them out on the bed. He was bored and while the woman would probably be confused he thought that a little help wouldn't hurt someone with so much to do. @predictable_.

She turned the water off after her shower, grabbed a dry towel, drying her body to rid herself of the water. She put on a white tank top, staying without a bra, and some comfortable black shorts. She preferred sleeping without a bra, mainly because it was quite comfy. before exiting the bathroom and returned back to her bedroom. She put her dirty clothes in a hamper, deciding to wash them later on. India turned, averting her attention onto the clothes that were laid out on her bed. She stood there, confused for a moment, "I really do need sleep.." The woman sighed quietly. She didn't remember unpacking some more clothes, but she simply shrugged and put them neatly in her drawers. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb sat in his...now her room he supposed unsure of what to do. This room had been his before and even after his death it was where he spent most of his conscious time. Now however someone else, a scantily clad woman, was in his room and he didn't know what to do. The only thing to really look at was her but it felt wrong with her wearing so little and not even wearing a bra so it made him feel like a creep. He had resigned himself to stand by the window and look outside but that could be a bit risky. Assuming he was still conscious if he was still there after midnight and she happened to look forwards the window it was possible she could catch a glimpse of him, especially if the moonlight was bright. He doubted she would still be awake by then so he decided to take his chance. @predictable_.

After putting up a box of clothing, the woman decided to call it a night. She had turned off her bedroom light and set her alarm on her phone. It was pretty early to be falling asleep right now, but she was exhausted from the move and settling into her new house. Tomorrow she planned on meeting her brother for coffee after work. Despite moving to a different country, she was able to transfer her job over to where she is currently living now. It was a work-from-home job, so she didn't have to worry about getting up and driving. India covered herself with her blanket, laid on her side, and faced the window for a moment. She slowly felt herself drifting off to sleep, her breathing slowed down and so did her heart rate. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb had stayed there for a while but he began to feel himself fading again. A clock said it was going on 4 and he knew that meant the witching hour was almost over and his connection would be weaker. He embraced it as if he was laying his head on a pillow before there was nothing once more. He came to suddenly when he heard a loud crashing noise, the sound of something breaking. His senses weren't at their fullest, his being only partially existing but he knew it was downstairs. He drifted down through the floor and found the base of the beautiful flowers he had inspected before now broken on the table, water soaking the table and floor and flowers and broken ceramic scattered.

The sleeping woman was soon rudely awoken by the sound of shattering glass coming from downstairs. She let out a yawn, sitting up in bed. She checked the time on her phone, realizing just how late it was. She got up out of bed and headed down the stairs to see what had caused such a noise. She was surprised to see the vase of flowers that had somehow broken and spilled over the table. She let out an annoyed sigh, bending down to pick up the bits and pieces of broken glass. She had accidentally cut herself with a piece of glass, wincing at the sudden pain.* "God dammit." She mumbled under her breath, quickly running to the kitchen to run cold water over her cut. Luckily the cut wasn't too deep. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb watched the new woman start to clean up before she cut her finger on the broken glass. It was strange, he could sense the blood that was coming from the cut. When she disappeared Caleb wondered if there was anything he could do to help. Caleb tried picking up the pieces of glass and struggled, he wasn't used to being able to interact with much and with him being close to fading once again it was even more difficult. The pieces he did manage to pick up he put inside part of the remaining vase as well as looked for any glass that was hard to see that she might step on. It was still a mess but he felt glad that he was able to help her. He was still curious about what broke it in the first place however. @predictable_.

The woman let out a sigh, a confused expression painted her face once more. "How the hell could you have broken?" She asked herself, although referring to the vase. She assumed that maybe the wind could have caused the accident, especially since her living room window was open to let in some cold and fresh air. Once the cut stopped bleeding, she returned to the living room with a plastic bag to pick up the rest of what was left of the vase. It pained her to do so, but she had to throw away the flowers since they'd end up dying. The woman swept up what was left and threw it away in the trash can. After doing so, she decided to go back upstairs to rest up for the morning.

Caleb watched for a while, still trying to figure out what had happened and anything going on better than nothing. He wasn't sure when it had happened but one moment he was staring at a table where a vase had broken and the next he was in his old room. At some point he had faded without warning only to return. He was curious what the woman had done through the day while he was gone although he assumed it was more unpacking. Drifting around for a while he found a notebook and pen and stared at it for a moment. Hesitantly he grabbed the pen and wrote a message, the act taking more will than he would have thought. "You're not alone" @predictable_.

*The next morning, India was woken up by her alarm. She let out a sigh, turning it off. She got up after a few minutes of procrastinating to get her day started. She grabbed a pair of pants, underwear, and a shirt out of her drawers. She then took a quick hot shower to wake her up some more. It was 10:30 AM, and her brother wasn't coming over until 12PM, so she decided it was best to finish organizing and emptying out the rest of her brown boxes. She started off with kitchenware and then the rest of her clothes and shoes. The woman put some of her clothing up on hangers and hung them up in her closet, while her shoes were lined up neatly underneath. And to finish up, writing utensils and other things she'd need for work. She was quite surprised to see one of the notebooks already open and written in. The handwriting was unfamiliar... Creepy even. Though, the woman didn't think too much about it at all. Maybe it could have been one of the guys at the office before she moved. --- A few hours passed and the sound of knocking came from the front door. It was a man, he looked much like India herself. He had dark black hair that stopped at his shoulders, his eyes a dark brown and he had two cups of coffee in his hand. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb watched her lack of reaction when she found the message and couldn't help but feel sad. It wasn't as if he knew this woman or even expected her to randomly start speaking aloud, he was just hoping for something. He drifted around to another one of the other bedrooms. When he was alive he used this bedroom to write song lyrics or play his guitar. One of his favorite parts about having new people move into his home was them bringing along radios and televisions and other things that let him hear new music as time passes. That was harder to do now since he had no idea how any of this woman's stuff worked. Looking at the walls he looked at where he had written song lyrics in the past. They had been painted over since then but he could still see them in a way he knew wasn't natural. Perhaps this house just had a hard time letting things go and it held the ghost of his songs here for him to read. @predictable_.

The woman made her way down the stairs, looking in the peephole before answering the door. She was happy to see her brother, their long and tight hug proved just that. "My god, is it good to see you." Her brother chuckled softly, closing the door behind him as he entered the house. "I bought you some coffee. Three creamers and two sugars, just how you like it." India smiled, taking the cup and placing it down on her living room table. "Thanks... It's good to see you again. I guess moving out here wasn't too bad." India sat down on the couch, bringing her knees up to her chest.* "You look good. You've been working out more often, hm?" She chuckled softly. "Just the perks of workin' heavy labor." Neymar said. He took a look around the living room. "Damn, India. You sure do know how to make a home more... homey ---- The two spend a few hours talking and catching up with one another. She even had Neymar set up her computer and desk in one of the rooms, which she now called her office. If she were going to be working from home, she wanted it to be as comfortable as can be. "Alright, sis, I'll check up on you tomorrow. Make sure you call me, alright?" Neymar demanded lightly before making his leave.

Hearing a second voice Caleb considered going to inspect it and see what was happening but that's sounded like too much work. No, that was silly, he had nothing but time. Caleb took a moment to stick his head through the floor and peek down seeing the new homeowner talking with someone over a cup of coffee. Caleb missed coffee too much and the fact that he could smell it made it even worse, he couldn't actually smell the coffee of course but the smell was so well known to him he could imagine it. He only watched for a short moment before leaving them alone to themselves. He closed his eyes for what felt like a second before he opened them to see the two of them now in the room installing a desk and computer, at least that's what he assumed it was even though it looked much different than the last one had had seen. Caleb spent a moment looking at the computer before hitting a button and watching as it started to turn on. Ooooohhh @predictable_.

India sighed softly. Here she was, back to the loneliness. You'd think that she'd be used to it by now, enjoyed it even. But she honestly grew tired of it. She was halfway through her 20s and still hadn't settled down or found someone to keep her company. She plopped down on her bed, scrolling through social media on her phone. Despite only just moving, she felt she deserved a vacation. It'd be long before she'd have one, especially with her first day of work in the big city starting tomorrow. Instead of lying around for any longer, India decided to make herself useful and take a trip to the store. She needed to fill the place up with groceries anyways and knew she'd be too busy with work tomorrow to even have a chance to do so. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb drifted around unsure of what to do. Most of his time since his death had been spent in boredom but at the same time he wasn't used to being around so much. Normally he would be himself for a few hours a day at most but with a new source of life around it was growing more constant and with it more boring. He continued drifting around looking at the decorations he was still unused to when he saw something from the corner of his eye. He turned his head slowly and saw something against the far wall of the living room, it looked like a small panel or door. As he got closer he saw it was a crawlspace, but he didn't remember there being a crawlspace here when he was alive or since. The more he stared at it the more a strange sensation swept over him. He couldn't fully explain it, something like when you know you're being watched mixed with anxiety. His stare glared into it until all of a sudden he blinked out. @predictable_.

An hour later, India entered through the front door with hands full of grocery bags. She placed them on the kitchen counter before heading back outside to her vehicle to grab even more. After bringing the bags inside, she began putting the groceries up. The pantry was quickly stacked with different canned goods, bread, snacks, and much more. The freezer had a range of different meats and frozen foods. The woman wanted to treat herself to a nice dinner, so she left out any ingredients for steak, mashed potatoes, and garlic bread. She even went all out with the expensive bottle of wine. The woman grabbed her phone out of her purse, paired it with her Bluetooth speaker, and played a song by Chase Atlantic. She hummed along to the song, obviously in a good mood. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb wasn't sure how long he was gone this time but when he came to he heard music. It had been ages since he had heard anything and although he had never heard this or really anything like it he was just glad to hear something. He drifted towards the room where he heard it coming from and stopped inside. He closed his eyes and listened to the music trying to stay in a corner where she wouldn't bump into him and be made uncomfortable by his cold presence. As he listened he started making out the sound of her humming. He had barely heard her speak since she moved in but as she hummed he thought she had a lovely voice. "Strange." He muttered looking at the Bluetooth speaker before hearing himself again faintly. "What was that?" He asked out loud before once again faintly hearing himself. He looked around for a.moment before leaning in closer to the speaker and saying "hello." A moment later as almost a whisper he heard himself say hello although it barely sounded like himself. @predictable_.

The woman kept her playlist on shuffle so that the music wouldn't come to an end. She enjoyed the tunes and loved Chase Atlantic. His voice was lovely and very attractive to the ears. India placed a pan on the stove, letting it heat up the oil inside. While she waited on that, she prepped and seasoned the meat. Cooking was way more satisfying than ordering takeout or delivery. She grabbed a wine glass out of the cabinet, pouring some of the red wine into her glass. The wine was great, and definitely worth the money she spent on it. She thought that her brother might like some too once he visited again. @Triceratops&Bottoms

Caleb was unsure of how the woman wasn't even acknowledging his presence. At this point she had seen his note in her notebook and even if it was quiet he could be heard through her music which to him was strange she hadn't noticed. He watched the woman drink her wine and was jealous again that he couldn't taste or smell anything. "Hello." He called again through the speaker wondering if it was fluke only to hear his voice again slightly louder. "If you can hear me you're not alone here." He moved away from the speaker and up to the woman waving his hands in front of her face knowing she wouldn't see. "I don't know if I'm too subtle or you're just not noticing." He poured before sticking his hand through her head wondering what it would feel like to her. @predictable_.

The woman was soon taken back by the sudden sweep of cold air that brushed over her. It made her shudder and the hairs on her neck stand. For a moment she assumed that she heard what sounded to be like a whisper. She looked over at the bottle of wine, hesitant to drink more. There was no way she could have gotten drunk so quickly. "What the hell..." The woman mumbled under her breath, scoffing afterward. She turned down the music on her speaker before she returned to finish cooking her meal. She didn't want to think too much about the strange whispers. Sure, people died here but India didn't believe in ghosts. @Triceratops&Bottoms
