Zaph Jharo BOT 18-Feb-23 11:53 AM
"Of all the idiocies you've accomplished so far..." Zaph spoke, trying to further articulate his frustrations with shaking hand gestures, "THIS is a thing of legend! I suppose have only myself to blame; after all, I didn't think to draw you a map with bright colorful arrows and small words in giant friendly letters!" He approached the ladies gathered with a sigh. "I kindly beg your pardons, ladies. I had asked my...'associate' here to find the local Adventurer's Guild in town to find capable people for the type of dangerous yet potentially lucrative work i'm sure your patrons have bragged to you about; and instead he went to your...establishment, due to an apparent issue he seems to have with reading. I apologize profusely for the loss of your time, and wish you good day." He looked to his Fighter associate, "Let's go; hopefully, the Guild hasn't closed, yet..."

"Hey, Zaph, why're you being so rude? You told me to get people willing to go on an adventure with us, and that's what I did! The kind lady at the desk directed me to these fine ladies, and they agreed. You can't refuse to let new adventurers get into the business, that's just bad manners." The human was tall and well-built, though not especially muscular for his size. He wore leather armor, with a longbow slung over his shoulder and a quiver on his hip. A bag hung from his shoulder, with a wide variety of items sticking out of it.
Avatar
"You guys should decide now. Anyway, I don't like the fact that you just shoo us away, as if we're not worth it. All of us do have the same goal, don't we? You want your adventure and thrill, so do we." She frowned, grabbed her bow and arrows and flipped her brown strand of hair back. She gave the human fighter her attention and smiled a little. "That longbow of yours look pretty promising. But are you capable to use that? Let's make a deal. A competition it is, the one who gets to hit all the targets in the bull's-eye first will win. Pretty simple, right? If I win I'll enter your team and be the leader and! You'll have to buy us all fine chocolat- ahem maybe one thing is enough. That said if you win I'll treat back, that's it. Or do you want to add something?" She peeked at the other ladies who looked way mature than herself and she sighed. One of her sides, she wished, she could get rid of. Her impatience and childish behavior every now and then, is just like back then. She got quiet suddenly and pointed at the door "What are you saying human? I wouldn't mind fighting you two either. That would also be an option."

He looked at Elfi, confused. "I.. don't see the point in having a competition. I want you all to come with us, it's not my fault that my friend's being a stick in the mud." Looking back at his half-elven companion, Drew just sighed. Making decisions like this wasn't what he usually did.. Zaph did all that- finding them jobs, securing payments, deciding where they went.. Drew just did what he did best, snipe things from far away with his bow before they realized he was there, and make friends and allies in the bar after jobs. Ah.. The nights full of booze and friends and song were what he lived for. "Why don't you just come with us? I'm already paying for you to travel."

Elfi stood still and looked at him confused. Money was the last thing she was interested in, so his offer was rather not interesting to her. "I want people, a party, which I can trust, and have fun adventuring together. As for payement, I'm not interested." Having a little competition wouldn't hurt anyone, it would just be a little training, she thought. She looked at him and realized that he wasn't like his 'friend'. Elfi needed to accept new challenges and hardships anyway or she wouldn't improve at anything at all. "Fine, it was just for fun and warming up, the competition. So you guys are going for it? What is the goal of this party?" (edited)

No-One was half asleep during the whole conversing of words between the elf and the man. She didn't really care too much about what was going on, she just wanted food, clothes and sleep. Two of those things however required money, so whatever the job was she'd do it. The elf girl seemed uninterested in receiving payment, No-One was however intrested and thought she'd make it known. "I want my meals paid for, my services-" she broke off to yawn midsentence, "arent free." She then caught something in the corner of her eye and started to wander away.

As Elfi noticed the tiefling getting away from the gathering, after stating her opinion. The tiefling wasn't wrong she thought, of course you need to get something back if you give something, whatever it is. But she didn't get why she was wandering away now! "Ummm...mam, please stay here until the gathering comes up to a conclusion."

Aurelia Voxtin BOT 19-Feb-23 09:56 AM
Aurelia came down the steps of the Adventure's Guilt. She noticed two men standing with two of her friends, Elfi and No-One. She fluffed her white hair and walked down the steps. Her black bralet and skirt snuggly hugging her body and her curves. "What's going on here~" She purred. Elfi was trying to get the men to play a game, and No-One simply wanted food. She chuckled and wrapped her arms around the girls, well, her arm around Elfi, her tail snagging No-One's and pulling her back til she could wrap her arm around her. "Ladies, ladies.... Can we chat for a moment?" She winked at the men, her long lilac purple tail coming out and running up the human man's leg. "Give us just a moment, boys. We're interested, but we need to discuss our price." She hummed. She pulled Elfi aand No-One aside. "Ladies, aren't you tired of the same old hum drum of our lives? Aren't you tired of the fear of getting your throat slit by an angry wife that discovers our customers might be her husband?" She held her friend's shoulders and she leaned in close. "Think about it. We could go on an adventure with these two! We could have all the fun we want. Yes, we'll need payment, but they seem to be willing to pay for our travel. I, personally, think that's worth it. We don't have to give our services unless we want too. Besides," She smirked, her tail swishing and coming back, holding a coin purse that she had swiped from a different patron. "I know how to keep our funds secure... So..." She looked at Elfi and No-One. "Are you going to join me? Or are you two going to stay here wasting your lives away in this shit hole?"
Avatar
Elfi nooded flustered and let Aurelia embrace her. She was like a big sister to her, she took Elfi in right from the beginning when she was looking for a guild, a safe and warm place. Aurelia was a prankster and kinda teasing, but that didn't change the fact that she was caring and sweet to her friends still. "I'll join you wherever you go or whatever you do Aurelia"
Avatar
No-One only nodded as she tried to move Aurelia's arm off her shoulders. "When are we going to eat? I'm hungry... and tired" she mumbled. She looked around, trying to find a fitting place to rest for the time being. No-One could sleep anywhere at anytime, she seemed to gravitate to small spaces. They were cozier and gave her a better sense of security.

Zaph Jharo BOT 19-Feb-23 01:14 PM
Zaph rolled his eyes at how Drew explained his blunder. Not only did he have trouble reading, but apparently also had issues with understanding innuendo as well. However as it turned out, it seemed he wasn't alone; did these women actually want to go treasure hunting? Surely not! He looked to Drew first. "Drew, you went to a brothel. What would be more rude is letting these nice ladies think they're doing one thing, when they're actually going to do another." He then looked to the women. "You do realize that we're actually going on a quest, right? This isn't some kind of role-play or whatever special activity you might charge extra for at the brothel? We're on our way to an actual dungeon, and we need actual capable people who can actually swing a sword or sling a spell." (edited)

Drew Eagleeye BOT 19-Feb-23 01:28 PM
"But I told them that we'd be going on an adventure. I didn't lie to them, and.." He paused for a moment. "..What's a brothel?" He hadn't been in these big cities for very long, and his home was a village with barely more than 500 people. They didn't have many businesses outside of the general store, the inn, and other craftsmen that they needed. "Do they sell broths for soup?"
Avatar
Zaph Jharo BOT 19-Feb-23 01:45 PM
"Oh, dear gods..." His head lowered, exhausted. "A brothel is a place where people pay other people to have sex with them...and if I have to explain that, then we're gonna need a lot more booze."

Aurelia smiled at her two friends and nodded. “Then it’s settled. We’ll go on this adventure and we’re going to have a great time. We’re going to see the world in a new way.” She kissed both girls on the cheek before she approached the men again, heading Zaph explain that they were going on a quest and that they needed capable people. Aurelia felt her cheeks heat up in anger. “Excuse you. Just because we work in a brothel doesn’t mean we aren’t capable.” Aurelia slid her skirt to the side just enough to reveal a dagger latched to her thigh. She then opened her palm and a heavy flame appeared in the center. “Never judge a whore by her dress, right?” She smirked. She made the flame vanish and she held her hand out. “You’ll pay for lodging and our rations unless we find our own. In exchange, we’ll join your quest and help to our fullest abilities. Agreed?”

*Elfi noods as she careses her cheek, where Aurelia kissed her. 'Man she was always so cool and aware', Elfi thought. "It was disrespectful enough, to turn down my competition offer." She glared at the human and clicked her tounge.

"Oh, you want to go get boose? I'd be down to get a drink." He responded, a smile coming over him. Getting drinks was always fun to do, especially when you needed to make new friends. Then, he turned to watch Aurelia as she explained that they had something to contribute to the team. He seemed pretty willing to go along with things, though seemed to pause when the fire appeared in her hand. Magic wasn't dependable, not like a good solid bow in your hands. Even so, Zaph would appreciate magic when they went into whatever dungeon he had planned for them, so he wouldn't raise a fuss about it. Then, the elf glared at him and he looked at her, confused. "There's plenty of time for training though. I just don't see why it's needed right now."

She looked away and hid behind Aurelia. Elfi shook her head and clinged onto Aurelia's arm. "I don't like humans, they're strange", she said with a low, almost whispering voice, while keeping an eye on both adventurers. "They're no ffun"

He watched as Aurelia showed off her dagger an and produced a bit of fire in her hand. He grimaced under his mask. "So you've got some steel and sparks in case people get rowdy, big deal. We're gonna be dealing with dangerous traps and monsters, lady, way different." Hearing her pitch, Zaph sighed. At this point, the Guild hall was closed, so what the hell. "Okay, tell you what; I'll agree to your terms, but I expect you all to pull your weight! If I don't see some razzle dazzle, we're dropping you." With that, he made his way towards the Inn in town, not looking back at the motley crew of misfits he now had to drag around. This dungeon's gonna eat us alive... (edited)

"You're both scary sir, just to make it clear. My Si- I mean Aurelia can be scary too if you make her mad, so you better be careful yourself" She kept an eye on the human and the complaining Zaph now. He looked dissatisfied, is it just because the girls are from the brothel? What a narrow way of thinking and judging she thought. Elfi tightened her grip and was even thinking about striking right away, but that would just cause pure problems, so she let it be. No-One and Aurelia are rather laid back people and handle with words, that's at least what she thought, she really wouldn't like to do a silly move, which might upset them. After taking a deep breath, she held out her hand to the human. "My name is Elfi, it's nice to meet you human. I guess we're going to work together for a while so I think it's better if we don't argue and stare at each other like that. I'm looking forward to a good cooperation." At least he wasn't a jerk and all serious person like his Half-Elf friend, who was just rude in her opinion

No-One had gotten bored of the conversation and was laying on a haybale, fast asleep, outside the stables they were fortunately right next to. She caught a few bits of the talking like, "capable," "expenses" "monsters" the monster part excited her a bit. Her tail swayed gently as she was fully submerged in the wonderous nap she'd been longing for. That was until Zaph had started walking away. She then got up to follow him. Halfway down the street she tackled the man, leaning over him on all fours and crawling closer. "Sir, do you believe in fate? Ever since your eyes fell upon me I've been feeling different-" ...truth was she couldn't really see much with his mask over his face. "Please! Allow me to seduce you with my petite body and luscious curves. Many of the men in town say I have the best breasts if you like that more!"

"What, me? Scary? Nahhh. I wouldn't hurt you guys." He said with a smile, definitely a very easy-going guy. "Name's Drew Eagleeye." He took Elfi's hand and gave her a firm handshake. She could tell that he had a very work-centered life, since his hands were very calloused. "I'm sure we'll get along just fine. I get along with nearly everyone, after all!" Then he turned to follow Zaph, a smile on his face. This day was going great! Now they had more friends to travel with. When one of the women tackled Zaph, Drew laughed. "See, Zaph? I told you that whoever i'd find would like you!"

Zaph was well on his way to the Inn, when he suddenly found himself struck from behind and tackled to the ground. "HuHp!!" He wheezed as the large tiefling narcoleptic slammed into him. Then he saw her crawl towards him spouting whatever nonsense she sold her patrons on, and tried to process why she would do this in the middle of the street, only for his brain to nearly short circuit in trying to apply sense to the senseless. Then Drew chimed in, making him fume further... "GET OFF ME!" He shouted, intent on making his feelings towards the situation quite clear. "Gods sake, woman, is your brain that sleep-deprived, or are you just insane!?" The half-elf got to his feet, dusting himself off and making sure he had everything still on his person, especially his purse and his Lucky Dagger. Good, everything was there...it wouldn't have been the first time someone played the old "tackle you in the street and behave strangely in a bid to swipe your purse" trick. (edited)

Aurelia sighed, shaking her head. It seemed the actually 'leader' of the group, didn't believe in them. That wasn't that shocking to her as all she had was a small dagger and some magic. But, he would see that she and her girls were good adventurers! That was, until she heard the leader scream as he stepped outside. Aurelia rushed outside, "No-One! Stop!" She sighed, grabbing the other tiefling and pulling her off. "What is the matter with you? We don't throw ourselves at people, especially if we're going to work with them. Come on, you know better." She scolded, shaking her head. She looked back up at Zaph and she gave him an apologetic smile. "Sorry. She's just a little... eager." She chuckled. "We will pull our weight. Don't worry about that." She looked between Zaph and Drew. "So what is the plan? Shall we meet up in the morning? Would you like to discuss plans now? What are you thinking?" @Deleted User

Zaph continued towards the inn as he explained. "The plan is to get some rest at the inn and leave for the dungeon tomorrow. We'll meet up the next morning at sunrise within the very same inn, where we'll formally introduce ourselves to one another and discuss our plan of action over breakfast. As for what I'm thinking currently, it's something along the lines of 'dear gods how is this my life?'" He pat his coin pouch. "As agreed, I'll cover your lodging and food. Any more questions?"

Aurelia nodded and nudged her head back towards the brothel. "No need for tonight. We have food and lodging for tonight. We will need to know what resources you have. We will obtain our own in the morning to accommodate what you do not have." She chuckled and leaned forward, her finger tapping his nose. "Well, we are quite good at helping adventurers clear their minds. I'm always happy to offer a new customer a free sample of what we can offer along the way." She winked. He nodded. "Alright, then. As far as resources go, Drew and I have the weapons and such you see on our person, and about 300 gold worth of coins that we can use for supplies, lodging, and equipment." He deadpanned as Aurelia tapped the nose of his mask, feeling his annoyance bubble up once again...though he had to admit, her offer was tempting, as she was far from unattractive. Still, this was business. "Tempting an offer though that may be, my dear, I'll take a raincheck. Besides, I'm sure you already have quite the selection of willing partners for the evening." He gave a slight bow. "I bid you goodnight, ladies."

Zaph was the one who made all the plans, he just did what he was told to do. Looking over at Aurelia after Zaph started walking away, he tilted his head. "..How do you clear adventurer's minds? I find that a big meal and a lot of ale goes a long way to help people relax after a long day of work. Maybe you ladies would wanna come drink with me and whoever else joins me?" Whether or not they actually planned on joining, he was planning on drinking for most of the night with whoever came to sit with him. No-one's eyebrows scrunched together as she backed off. "I was only attempting to protest my love for the mister.." she seemed confused on what she had done wrong and turned to Elfi after Aurelia had offered Zaph a 'free sample's. "Is it that my breasts are not big enough? Maybe he falls under the population of men who do enjoy larger breats-" No-One looked down at her chest and cupped her boobs, a slight frown was pulling the corners of her lips down.

Elfi immediately shook her head and grabbed No-One's shoulders, giving her a serious look. "Your breasts are fine dummy! Just look how soft they are! People care about their softness as well as their warmth, the size doesn't matter! Medium is premium as they say!", She came up with one of her brothers silly speeches, realizing what she just said she bowed and apologized hastily. "No-One... I'm sorry forget that what I said before, but it's just, just like Aurelia said you can't attack the people we're going to work with. We're gonna help them in another way you know." She says that as she waves her hands around nervously. She turned around and gave a look at both adventurers and Aurelia who seemed like talking about 'important' stuff. "I think we should go back to the brothel for now and order some food, let's go, shall we? You must be hungry too" Elfi held No-One's hand smiling and patted her head carefully "There there.." As they passed by Aurelia and Zaph, she poked Aurelia's from the side looking up to her "We'll be going and preparing stuff beforehand"

"If it's not my breasts then what is the problem?" No-one let Elfi drag her back to the brothel, all the while asking more questions. "Was my approach to straightforward? Don't men usually like that?" At this point she was just rambling to herself.

Elfi giggled quietly and kept up her pace. "Everybody's different as you know, so are men and their preferences, some take it slowly, some take it fast and directly and some seek for more romantical and real things No-One. She was used to strange looks, especially since she was a tiefling. She ordered her own ale and she winked at the bartender, "I forgot my coin purse at home. Do you mind letting this one slide?" She then leaned forward and whispered, "Or should I tell your wife that you sneak over to our little establishment every night before you come home?" The bartender huffed and handed her an ale. After a couple minutes Elfi already managed to grab some food and supplies for tomorrow, the bedroom was quiet so far, no fights, no discussion about breasts. No-One was taking a nap at the corner, she really sometimes acted like a child, she thought. The chattering from the lobby was quite chaotic, soon they'll be listening to unknown howling, rustling of trees and bushes and also the breeze. "It'll be fun mhm" She said with a smile plastered on her face. Aurelia didn't come after them, so she guessed that she must be with the adventurers. Elfi slowly approaches No-One, who looked like enjoying her sleep. She didn't want to leave her here alone so Elfi gave it a try to ask her if she would accompany her to check on Aurelia, since she had nothing to do anymore. "Psssst" With a careful little poke on her cheek Elfi tried to wake her up, honestly she didn't know why she didn't value her own beauty, maybe she was a little naive? Elfi giggled quietly and kept trying "Hey, c'mon please wake up. Let's go to Aurelia, I'm done with our work here, shall we?"

No-One groaned softly and shifted a bit. After she heard Elfi speak about finding the others her eyes blinked open. "Fine." She mumbled. She got up and stretched as she yawned. She'd give Elfi a small smile before looping her arm with hers and accompanying the Elf girl to find everyone else.

Elfi stumbled a little when No-One took her arm, but she kept her balance somehow. Before they left the Brothel she realized that she didn't know which inn they went off to. Thus she gulped and smiled awkwardly. "Ummm No-One do you perhaps know where the others..are?"

Aurelia chuckled again. "Mead sounds delicious. I might grab some wine too. Stay here." She went to the bar counter and once again, leaned over and asked for a few drinks. "I ain't handing over every drink." He growled. Aurelia nodded. "I know, I know. Here. How much." "Seven silver." "Three." "Six." "One." "T-That's not-" "Three it is then, thank you." Aurelia winked. She placed three silver down on the counter and the bar tender huffed. "Damn whore." He grabbed the four mugs and filled two with mead and two with wine. She then returned to the table with Drew and she sat down again. She handed him a mug with wine and one with mead. "Their wine is pretty good too." @Dark Cecils II

Aurelia laughed as Drew took a long swig of the wine. "Wine is typically sipped, but that's fine. Honestly, their ale is better than their wine." She sipped her own drink before she noticed Zaph approach. He asked about Elfi and No-One and she nodded, "They wanted to make some preparations, but I think they should be done. Elfi almost jumped as she heard Aurelia's voice, she turned her head to the direction where the voice came from and saw the silver haired Tiefling. Getting picked up felt kinda embarrassing but she was relived that it was Aurelia and not one of the adventurers, that would've been embarrassing if they caught her at such an embarrassing moment, her being forgetful and not good with directions... "Aurelia!" Elfi tightened her grip with No-One and dragged her along with her, still being careful not to be too harsh, she knew that No-One wouldn't like that. "It's really Aurelia, thank god you came- I mean! We were on our way to the inn why did you come?"

AV: Aurelia smiled and waited for the two to catch up. "I was worried you two hadn't heard where we were and I didn't want you guys wandering around for hours. Besides," She wrapped her arms around Elfi and gave her a side armed hug. She ruffled No-One's hair. "I missed you two. Boys are fun but not nearly as fun as you two." She smiled. Aurelia had become close with Elfi and No-One, and she would do everything in her power to make sure they were kept safe. The group made it back to the tavern and Aurelia brought them over to the table where Zaph and Drew sat. Aurelia whistled for the bar keeper as she dropped her friends off. "Oh no. Not again!" The bar tender growled. Aurelia smirked and leaned over to the bar, her mouth pressed close to his ear. Her tail slithered along the counter and wrapped around his wrist, the tip tickling his wrist, right where his vein would be. The man's eyes widened and his face paled. He nodded rapidly and he had his helper bring everyone at the table a drink. Aurelia smiled, kissed the bar tender's cheek, and headed back to the table. However, this time, she decided to sit on Drew's lap. "So, Zaph," She lifted a mug of wine and looked at Zaph. "What do you expect from us? What kind of quest is this?" (edited)

Elfi smiled brightly as Aurelia hugged her from the side, making her all warm and cozy. She was glad that it was nighttime, fortunately nobody would notice or see her happiness and silly, as well as happy face/gestures. She appreciated her only friends, Aurelia being the beautiful, caring and teasing big sis, No-One the sleepy, sweet and unexpected sister, both had their own treats. As they entered the tavern, Elfi got a little nervous and started looking around, at the pupil, the loud ones, ah also the ones sleeping on the floor too were a thing she couldn't unsee or ignore, the filled as well as empty glasses- "Wwoa so...much going on here", as Aurelia brought No-One and her over to the table where Zaph and Drew sat she just nooded and sat down. Aurelia was talking with the bartender now, it was quite quiet and she started nomming on the candies she prepared herself for the journey. They were candies with special spells but this one was plain and just a normal one.

He had gotten himself another mug of ale by the time the girls had made it back. "Oh, she's back already, and she brought her friends with her. See, Zaph? I knew they'd show up eventually!" He greeted the three of them as they made it to the table. Despite the several empty mugs in front of him, Drew did not seem like he was even the slightest bit phased by the alcohol, and looked about ready to order another when a mug of mead was set in front of him thanks to Aurelia's shenanigans. "Oh, you're a woman after a man's heart.." He said, grabbing the mead and taking a swig without a moment's hesitation. When Aurelia took a seat in his lap, Drew looked at her, confused. Then he looked at the others at the table, and assuming that there simply wasn't enough chairs at the table, shrugged and let her be. He glanced at Elfi. Elfi looked up and then down, staring at her candy bag. "Just some candies, I made them because No-One once told me that she liked those." She glared at him, watching Aurelia sit on his lap, 'what a perv' she thought. 'He better doesn't do anything strange to her' she grabbed after her dagger and checked if it was still there, she sighed and reached Drew a glass of water. "Don't get drunk. It would be surely just pain" Elfi sipped little by little on her Orange juice and listened carefully what their journey would be really about. It was hard enough not to freak out seeing the adventurers have fun with Aurelia. Then she remembered, Drew is kinda too naive to do something anyway! She took her candy bag once again out and and offered it to the human. "Here you can have one or two. As long as you promise me to drink water too"

He nodded when she explained that they were candies. He had a few every now and then when he was a child, but stopped when he was an adult. He raised a brow when she reached for her dagger and then told him to not get drunk. That was.. weird. "Don't you worry about me, little one. I can handle my ale quite well." When she offered candy in exchange for him drinking water, he thought for a moment and then nodded. "Sure, I can drink some water tonight." He reached out and took a single one, popping it in his mouth and nodding his thanks.

The half-elf looked at Drew with a deadpan expression at the human's response. How many blows to the head did this man take in his life? He rolled his eyes when Aurelia sat in his lap, and his response was to look at her like she'd grown a third head. This man makes Hill Ogres look like scholars. On the bright side, if one could call it that, Aurelia was successful in leading the other wayward lambs to the inn. This did not bode well for the mission, if two of the party members couldn't find their way across town, when they were about to go into the forest. Speaking of the mission, he would lift his mask up slightly to take a drink, before explaining. "You may or may not have heard of an Artificer by the name of Logrus Splint; he had amassed a bit of fame for creating magical limbs for people; some say he had a hand in creating Warforged, and wanted to take his work to another level…” “Whatever the case may be, he made a lot of money replacing lost limbs, and built his own vault to hold that vast amount of wealth. Some say that the vault’s empty, and that he actually gave away all his money; others say that he still kept a small trove tucked away for any children he might have sired in his youth to have an inheritance from. I believe it’s the latter, because the man passed around an old limerick that he said was the key to getting in. So…I’m gonna roll the dice, and see what’s there.”

Elfi gulped her orange juice down, and gave her attention to Zaph, she saved the information fully concentrated and nooded at the same time. A dungeon, or the forest on their way there, those weren't a problem for her. She tends to get lost at crowded places way too often but that didn't count for natural habitats. The dungeon may be a little challenge but the forest would be definitely an easy one for her. "Say Zaph, why are you so determined that the treasure is there?" She flicked the rim of the glass and looked now directly into his eyes, she felt the presence of them. 'How strange' she thought, it made her really curious, that mask of his was surely a mystery to her. Maybe she should just sneak into their room and at nighttime when they are asleep? No, that would be too dangerous and inappropriate, she doesn't even know how strong they are. What a shame that she couldn't test then earlier, when she offered a duel.

Drew's voice took her attention back and she nooded as he answered and guaranteed her question. "If you say so, I'll trust you human, you better be right." Thus said Elfi put in another candy in her mouth, blinking and curiously looking up "How's the candy? Do you like them?" "The candy's very yummy, thanks." He looked over at Elfi, nodding before taking another swig. He didn't outwardly show much, but he was finally starting to feel the effects of all the alcohol he had drank. So, he called for a mug of water and shifted in his seat slightly, a hand on Aurelia's thigh below the table to keep from just shoving her to the floor. It lingered for a second or two before he took it away, reaching for his coin purse and grabbing a couple of coins out to pay for the drinks he had gotten. Glancing at Zaph, he thought aloud. Drew was nice enough to answer Elfi's question for him, and Zaph himself added, "I know it's there because people have been trying for some time now, only to return empty-handed or not return at all. If somebody actually found the treasure, they'd be bragging from the rooftops and spending a King's ransom in places like the brothel. That's another reason why I'm looking for it; even if the vault's empty, I can still say I got in, and my reputation will open more doors, metaphorically speaking...money or fame, it's a win-win." He may not have magic or the ability to see in the dark or any other fancy moves like the other adventurers they had encountered throughout the past few months.. He wasn't strong or particularly fast or all that bright, but even he had his strengths. His undying loyalty to those he cared about, his talent with the bow sitting beside him, and his natural stealth. You didn't need to be smart to shoot a bow, and a bow could always outshoot magic, especially with his eye and steady hand. If a mage didn't know you were there, an arrow from 500 feet away could still take them out with a well-placed shot. He turned back to those at the table and smiled again. Even if he knew that Zaph would value these ladies more once he saw what they could do with their magic and their own talents, he knew he'd still have a place in the party.

Aurelia waved to Zaph as he came over to their table. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" She asked, finishing her meal. She licked her lips and and hummed softly. "Those beds are rather... stiff." She winked at Drew. "Now, Supplies are our next task, yes?" @Deleted User @Dark Cecils II

He raised a brow at Aurelia, not fully understanding what she meant by it but having a good idea that it was something overly flirty. Turning back to Zaph, he waited to see what his masked companion would say. Personally, Drew was fine on arrows and all of his cooking supplies, had plenty of rations (and planned on hunting to get more food).. He had his rope, some torches.. "Well, a lantern might be good for me, at least."

No-One looked livelier when Zaph joined them. Her tail swayed aggressively and if you were close enough you could hear it cutting through the air. "Morning!" She replied almost immediately. She wondered what he looked like without the mask. Why was he always wearing that thing anyways? Didn't it get hot? Wouldn't it be uncomfortable to breathe in for almost all day? She'd have to ask him about it later. For now they were discussing what supplies to bring on their adventure. No-one tilted her head boredly as they listed many things. She didn't need all those. The only thing she needed was her trusty battle axe. Maybe Zaph would think it was cool and fall madly in love with her. She could carry him towards the sunset, bridal style and they'd live happily ever after with 15 half-Elfling babies. She left the table quietly to go get her weapon. She could barely contain her excitement, as she retrieved her old gift from her father. It was almost twice her size. And nodoubt heavy, although it weighed nothing to No-One. She came back to the Inn, seeing as her axe was left at the brothel, and announced herself. She was holding the axe at as if it were an offering of some sorts, "I'm ready!" she chirped, her tail swaying heavier as she readied for Zaph to be swooned and all over her. @Dark Cecils II @Deleted User @The Legend of Vava: Scream Waker

Zaph did a slight double-take, distracted and unnerved by how...focused No-One was on him. In his experience, people who gave him this kind of attention were about to rob or kill him. "Well..." He finally answered Drew and Aurelia, "In addition to provisions, we'll also need light sources, healing and mana potions, mounts, and a long pole for trap-testing, among other tools. I'm thinking you and Elfi will gather consumables, I'll get the tools, Aurelia and No-One will procure the alchemy and mounts. Afterwards, we'll all meet at the north gate of town and start on our way." The Rogue lifted his mask just enough to be able to eat and drink, his hood once again obscuring his face as he did so, finally wiping his mouth and lowering the mask back once finished. "Delightful." he said with a sigh, looking forward to having enough wealth to not only not worry where his next meal will be coming from, but to feast daily. He stood up and turned around. "Right, to the General st-NEH!" He recoiled slightly upon seeing No-One wielding what appeared to be a portable Guillotine. "How in the hells are you able to carry that?"

No-One tilted her head and looked at Zaph with genuine confusion. "Am I not supposed to be able?" She lifted it as if it were a feather. "It's light really!" She smiled and held it out towards him. "See for yourself, try it!" She was very unaware of how strong she actually was compared to other people.

Aurelia nodded along as Zaph told them what other items they would need besides provisions. However, he suggested that Elfi and Drew go off, and Aurelia snagged Drew's arm. "Acftually, what if you and No-One went to grab tools and mounts? Drew and I can get consumables and the alchemy. I have a friend who runs the market sector and I'm sure I can get us a few deals here and there." She said, winking at Zaph. He looked back to the other two and shrugged. He'd go wherever he was needed, to be honest. A lot of this shopping required a good idea of quality, which he didn't have. Zaph always took care of that. It also needed knowledge of what stores were good, which he certainly didn't have. He knew animals, he knew pelts, and he knew bows and arrows. That's about all he knew.

"That works, as well, especially if you think you can get a better deal; I'll give you all a portion of the coins we've accumulated for your respective budgets before we part company." Caught off-guard when No-One tossed the axe, the axe hit Zaph in the chest. "OOWHUFF!" He fell backwards onto the ground, swearing and cursing. "Get this damn anchor off me!"

As much as Zaph wanted to respond to No-One's innocent query, he was too busy coughing as he stood up. Huffing an exasperated breath, he grumbled, "Right...come along, let's start with the horses..." Twenty minutes or so later, the pair found themselves at the local livery. The stock was decent, and naturally, Zaph tried to haggle the Stablemaster for a better price. "Forget it." She guided Drew out of the tavern and she brought him through the streets of the city. She brought him to the market and then she brought him to a small shop that was tucked into the back corner of the market. A wooden sign that read, "Agatha's Herbs and Tinctures" was carved in intricate lettering, and Aurelia opened the wooden door. "Agatha? Are you here?" An old raspy voice called from the back, "Aurelia? Oh, darling! Welcome! Oh! And who is this fine gentleman?" "This is my new traveling buddy, Drew. We are going on a quest and we need some healing potions. Do you have any?" Agatha nodded. "I have 5, darling. Will that suffice?" "It should, sure. What about mint and mugwort?" "I have that too." She said. "Yup!" Aurelia nodded and handed over a small pouch filled with gold. "Is that enough?" Agatha opened the pouch and counted. "Perfect. Thank you, Dearie." Aurelia smiled and turned to Drew. Drew was fine enough with letting Aurelia lead the way, though while they walked, he was always looking around. Identifying landmarks, interesting sights, anything they could make use of to make their way back, should they get lost. Not that he thought Aurelia wasn’t able to find her way around town, but it was a habit that he picked up because he normally struggled to find his way around bigger towns, much to Zaph’s displeasure. When they arrived at the potion shop, he looked up at the sign and stared at it for several seconds.. Having absolutely no idea what it said, he turned to follow Aurelia inside and listened quietly as she began to talk with the shopkeeper, an older woman. The smells coming from all the herbs and alchemy-related things in the shop made him a little woozy, just another thing that he didn’t trust from all that magic stuff, but he didn’t say anything to his companion about it. They needed potions, not him complaining. Five healing potions.. That was one for each of them. That’d certainly suffice. But did he need anything else? It wasn’t like he needed all that much to do his job.. “Do you have anything that’ll make dealing with monsters easier? Something I could put on my arrows?” @The Legend of Vava: Scream Waker

Agatha eyed Drew with a keen eye. She was a small dwarven woman and she gazed up at him as he asked if there was anything he could get that would make dealing with monsters easier. "I think I have just the thing." She said. She toddled over to a large chest before she grabbed a wooden chest and came back. The chest was small and she opened it up. Six medium sized bottles sat inside the chest, filled with either black or green liquids. "These are poisons and they will take down even the strongest monster. Just dip your arrows in these before you fire, and paw!" She cackled. "Dead as a doornail." @Dark Cecils II

Drew watched as the dwarven woman moved to pick up a wooden chest and brought it over, revealing its contents to be a variety of deadly poisons, apparently strong enough to take down strong monsters.. But that kind of thing was expensive, wasn’t it? There were a variety of poisonous plants that he had the misfortune of grabbing when he was still young, but those just gave him an upset stomach and the runs for weeks.. Nothing strong enough to kill someone, especially a monster.. “..How much do you want for these?” He asked, not sure how much he’d be able to spend if they would have enough for the rest of their supplies. @The Legend of Vava: Scream Waker

Zach seemed to be keeping him busy enough. "No-One is gonna save you!" She whispered. She slowly opened the stall door and began to lead the horse out. She paused after realizing one horse wasn't enough and opened 3 other stalls. Magically the four big creatures managed to somehow go unseen as she headed them to the other exit in the stables. She opened the gate and let them out before turning and grabbing a few reins. "I think Zaph said we already had rations, but I'll procure some more just in case." She walked to the market place and Aurelia purchased several packs of dried meat and several vegetables. "There we go." Once they had their rations, Aurelia turned to Drew. After "acquiring the horses at a bargain," Zaph and No-One would next acquire the tools they needed from Skold's Stuff, a less-than-reputable establishment that sold items both general and "specialized." Near the gate a sudden scream contest began. The words the people involved said to eachother were undecipherable and lost in the heat of the moment. All but one thing, the last. A woman screaming at the top of her lungs profanities in all languages known to man. The origin of said scream would become visible in no time as she walked to the main road, just a few meters away from the main gates themselves. It was a woman dressed in a skimpy and expensive looking dress. In her hands she carried a huge witch hat and was slapping the dust and dirt from it. Her intense red flocks fell down her back like a cascade, up to her rear. On her side a fat and tall book rested inside a book case made of leather decorated with gold and silver. She also carried a large bag on her back. - Moralists and their stupidity. Tsk, "people like you dont work outside of brothels". I should have turned him into a frog for calling me a witch -. After fixing her hat she put it on, making sure she hadn't missed any of her stuff. Her eyes glanced at the gate and then she turned her back and did a step towards the market. She stopped and turned back again, squinting really really hard, - Aurelia? No-One? Is that you?

He noticed that Elisabeth was writing stuff while they were riding, something that he thought was a little bit dangerous, but the fact that she was so confident in it made him hesitate bringing it up to her. A hand went from the reins to gently pat Aurelia's, letting her know that he was there for her if she needed it. He'd be there for everyone, if they needed it, though Zaph never asked for anything, he didn't think that No-One would ask him anything since she seemed so interested in Zaph, and the new girl.. He didn't have a read on her yet.

Aurelia smiled and she pressed a soft kiss against his back as he patted her hand. "Thank you, Drew." She cooed softly. He truly was a gentle soul, and she was eternally blessed that he had found their brothel. If he was literate, they never would have been able to join together like this! @Dark Cecils II

After a few hours of riding without incident, the group finally arrived at what appeared to be a ruin of what must have been a sizeable home... The crumbled stone and dry, rotten wood told of a place abandoned for a very long time, though marks of faded soot and fresh broken stones belied more recent conflict; whether this conflict was against some unseen guardians or amongst greedy explorers was not known, but conveyed a need for caution nonetheless.

When they got within reasonable distance of the ruins, Drew motioned for them to stop and dismount. They wouldn't want to risk their horses alerting anything inside, he said, but a part of him also just wanted to make sure that the horses were kept safe. He turned, bow in hand, to look at the ruins from where they stood. "Looks like someone's been here recently. Anything we should know going in?" His eyes turned to Zaph, who'd know way more about all this than he would. @Indi Gumbo
