Jin nodded. He had been suspicious of Palpatine too, but he never imagined he would be the shadowy enemy the Jedi had been chasing all this time. The Sith Lord himself, right under their noses. He shook those thoughts away as he looked back at Sezie, watching as she unclipped his pendant and tried to hand it back to him, to which he shook his head again, gently closing her fingers around it and pushing it back towards her. Even now he found a way to smile, and it was largely due to seeing her. He had never had trouble admitting to his feelings, even when the Jedi tried to force him to leave any attachments he had. At times he felt bad for maybe leading her down the wrong path, but he never told her she had to care about him. And if he was honest....he had always hoped she did.
"No chance. I gave that to you years ago, hoping it would protect you. Give you something to keep fighting for. To give you hope. There's no way I'm taking it back after it's done everything I asked. Besides, I made myself a new one," he said, reaching under his clothes and armour to pull out an identical necklace and pendant. Something that he believed had kept them connected all those years they spent apart.
"You know, since the day we met I've always had feelings for you, though you could probably guess that. And after that day three years ago, I kept hoping that we'd meet so I could tell you. So I'm going to do it now: I care about you. Alot. Thinking of you kept me going all these years. Kept me from going bad, though I was tempted a few times I'll admit. It's fine if you don't feel the same, I just had to tell you." In a somewhat bold move, he put a hand on her cheek, lightly stroking it with his thumb as he looked her in the eyes, inching closer to her on the bench so they were only a few inches apart. (edited)
