Next time, you pick the time and place. I’ll be there.
- X It won’t be the last. I’ll be there in 15, little one.
His emotions had jumped back and forth all day, but with that text he had a permanent look of mischief as he made his way to the corner of Maple abs Abbey.
1 Have a fun first day. You’ll have to let me know how it goes.
He sent the text before he jumped in his black Dodge Challenger and drove to the school, anxiously awaiting the look on her face when they saw each other in the hallway or walking to their cars. It wasn’t the first time he had been around a college campus. He would just have to find where the darkest of corners were. The trek to his classroom wasn’t as confusing as he thought it would be, but it was much bigger. Colleges had come a long way in the more modern years. Emptying his briefcase and setting up his desk, he wrote on the white board:
Sociology & Philosophy
*He grabbed his attendance list and scanned over the names as he paced in front of the seating section. Nervousness was nowhere to be found, but practice in presentation never hurt. Not a I need to talk to you.
She scoffed at the message, having received countless texts similar in the past and tucked the phone away. She finished packing the overloaded suitcase, zipped it up and looked around with a huff.
Almost done.
She made her way passed the living room couch and happened to catch a darkened spot that hadn’t been there until about a month ago. The text itches at her brain again, but surely it couldn’t have been. She pulled out her phone and stared at the letters for a few moments before finally texting back.
I’m home.
If it was Ellie, she would show up. If it was anyone else, they would likely show up to an abandoned building somewhere and if that was the case, she didn’t want to see them anyway.
@nakachuX’ and typed the letters: SOS before putting the phone back into her pocket; all while never talking her eyes off Ellie. Her shock was slowly turning to hurt and anger as her eyes flicked back and forth from the girl to her stomach. If she was pregnant with Xaiden’s child, then that meant she didn’t have much longer to live. Her body could only create so much blood and for a brand new fetus that is already dependent, six humans likely wouldn’t be enough blood to sustain it. She crossed her arms and tried to think of possible solutions before her irritation became too much.
“I… need a drink.” She disappeared from the room and made her way to the kitchen, cussing upon entering at having packed all their necessities away already.
@nakachuSeveral Hours LaterEllie in his contacts and sent her a message as he stood in the open doorway with Rowan.
We need to talk. I’m home.One Week Later

1 I heard what happened and I didn’t want to interrupt. I just dropped the bags off in a cooler on the back porch. I hope it’s enough as it’s all I can get for awhile.
*He was extremely delighted, not at the fact that she knew what had happened, that pissed him off a little, but that Elina had something to hold her over. He darted out of the room, rushing down the stairs as fast as his human legs would carry him, and opened the back door to see a small cooler. He picked it up, closed the door and sat it down on the kitchen table to see just how much she was able to get. There were only four bags in it, but that would be plenty until she gave birth,Shame. Maybe next time you’ll make a better decision.
In a bout of anger, he squeezed his phone until it almost combusted in his hand. The only thing that stopped him was the fact that he would need it to get ahold of Delayna when Ellie was due. He gently sat his phone on the counter before staring out into the empty living room. He could envision a family there, but old memories threatened to overtake it every time he tried. Grabbing his phone, he texted back.
To Airaden Redford: Next time, only one of us are walking away.
@nakachuAll I can do is tell you the truth. Whether you believe me or act on my information is up to you.
@nakachuAs you wish, dear.
@nakachuWe need to talk. Tomorrow?
He say his phone down on the counter as he stared at the pizza. With an eye roll, he grabbed a slice and took one bite before his phone went off.
De Marx: Sure.
He didn’t feel better as the text came through, but he knew one thing for sure. He didn’t feel like eating. He tossed the slice in the garbage can with a lid and made his way upstairs with his phone in his pocket.
@nakachu
1I can’t find it. I’m going to a walk. I’ll be back soon.
With that, he made his way towards the tree line at the edge of their property, past the barn. Unless he was stopped, he would walk straight on, not looking anywhere except directly in front of him. Once he reached it, he would slide down the slight hill into the trees and be gone.
@nakachu
1 Delayna.
He pulled his phone out first to make sure he didn’t have signal like he suspected and he was right. The phone in the room had a couple bars, but it also had the clubs logo on the back, a house on fire. Right as he went to call, a voice came over the intercom below the security camera.
I wouldn’t do that if I were you. At least, not yet.
It was the voice of Airaden Red and it made the fear drain from Xaiden’s face to quickly be replaced with anger.
“Why did you do this?! What do you want?!”
You’re the one who decided to snoop around private property. It’s not my fault you were caught.
Xaiden crossed his arms and tossed the phone down on the stand next to the TV, shutting it off to cancel out the static noise.
“Airaden. Let me out of here so I can kick your ass properly!”
Now, is that anyway to talk to someone who has you captive?
Xaiden walked around the room, picturing all of the hellacious things he was going to do to him once he got out, until the voice came again.
Now, as I see it, I’m a very lucky dog. Just the person I wanted to see has wondered into my web. I want to negotiate. Do you have your listening ears on, Dracula?You told me to tell you if he came back. He’s here and I think he’s looking for someone.
@nakachuApologies, you’re girlfriend was messaging me. Apparently she’s trying to get ahold of you. Shame, that.
“Red, I swear to God, if you don’t tell me what you want, I will make sure your head is the first thing I claim when I get out of here.”
What I want… is for you to have some patience.
“AIRADEN! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!”
The silence coated the room in panic as Xaiden checked his phone to have received nothing. He tried to send Ellie a text, but it refused to go through.
Accic… Jack of all Trades… I will let you go, but I’m demanding a trade. My… pack.. isn’t happy that there is a baby vampire on the way. I’d HATE to see them attack your happy little family. I’ll let you go.. but you and your family leaves this neighborhood, this area, this state even. Hell, the country wouldn’t be bad. I NEVER want to hear from you again… That means, cutting ties with me, Delayna and your precious Cassandra.
Just the sound of her name being spoken aloud caused Xaiden’s rage to boil over. He swung a closed fist into the door and yelled at the security camera.
“DON’T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT HER!” He took a deep breath and tried to get himself under control before he continued, leaning against the wall. “So that’s it?! You just want me to leave?? Fine!”No, I don’t want you to just leave. I want you to abandon the footholds you have with your immortal friends. I want you to rip Ellie from her home, again, and take her somewhere that is unfamiliar to the both of you. AND… if I ever hear that your family has killed a human or a werewolf… I will hunt you down.I told him. He ignored me. He must be too interested in discussing what sounds to be a very important conversation.I need you to get him on the phone right fucking now… I don’t care who he is with, I don’t care if you need to bust down that door. I don’t… Aaaah! … I am having his child!
Xaiden’s skin went white as he heard Ellie shout over that electric speaker. His chest froze, his palms started to sweat and in that moment he realized if he didn’t do what Airaden wanted, he would miss the birth of his daughter.
“LET ME OUT OF HERE YOU SON IF A BITCH! I’LL DO IT! I’LL DO IT.”
He slammed his fist into the door again, tears streaming down his face as he thought of the last thing he said to Ellie. It wasn’t kind and if he didn’t make it in time or if she didn’t make it at all.. she would never forgive himself.
“RED! … I’LL DO IT!!”
He slammed into the door again, letting the tears flow freely as he thought of how scared she probably was.
My my… How the tables have turned, Accic.
Frustrated and completely out of options, Xaiden ran to the phone across the room and opened it to call Delayna, but the sound of the intercom stopped him in his tracks.
If you call that number, She’ll die just like your mother….. Oh? You didn’t think I wouldn’t hold you here without an insurance policy? I have my pack right outside your house… Waiting…
Xaiden was frozen by Airaden’s words. He had just threatened Ellie’s life and his daughters… he needed to get out. He needed to get them out.
Leave, Never Kill Again and hell, send Rowan my way and I may even give you those blood bags you came for.Xaiden,
This should be enough to get you far far away.
He could smell the blood in it and knew Ellie would need it, especially now. Hope would drain her dry in days if they didn’t have a substitute. Groaning and running his hands through his hair, he grabbed the box and used his speed to get to his car.
Xaiden had never drove so fast in his entire life. He didn’t care about the traffic lights or the police officers, nothing was going to stop him from getting home to her. He flew through the back roads and made it back to the house with a wild drift into the driveway before he grabbed the box and busted his way into the house.
The door nearly swung off its hinges as he kicked it open. Elina was laying on the couch with a couple of blankets shoved between her legs, blood soaking through them quickly, while Delayna was knelt down at her face. He didn’t know that they were conversing, all it looked like to him was that she was dead.
“E.. Elina….”
His voice barely broke out past the panting and his choked tears. Tossing the box to the adjacent couch, he used his speed to appear at her head and kneel down next to Delayna.
‘WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN?!’
“You’re fucking lap dog held me hostage, now save her life before we all get torn to shreds!”
He was angry and he was scared. He grabbed Elina hand and brought it his lips as he realized her eyes were open.
“H—Hey, Hey, baby. I’m here, okay. Everything is going to be okay.”
If she would let him, he would lift her head enough to slid in underneath her, allowing her to lay between his legs as he wrapped his arms around her and brought his lips to her ear.
“I’m so sorry.. I love you. I’m here now.”

1I love you - ♠️
He then made his way out to the car to make sure it was all cleaned out for Hope to sit comfortably. The trunk had a few bags of tools and a spare tire that he removed for the sake of space and when he was done, he made his way back into the house. He realized then that Hope might need help with her hair, but as he rounded the corner, he saw her bound down the stairs with her money still in hand.
“Heh, love your money so much you showered with it?”
He teased through a small chuckle. He took it from her and put it in his front pocket before motioning towards the front door. He grabbed his leather jacket and followed her out, locking the door behind him as they left.
The pair would go to the store first. Xaiden having received Elina’s text before they made it there made it easy to go in and get everything they needed with ease. It took Hope a few isles to find exactly what she wanted to get for Elina and since it was only a few dollars, Xaiden let her pay for it. When they went to check out, he paid for all of his items and let her cash out separately so she could hand the cashier her money herself. She was much too excited as they made their way to the car and couldn’t stop bouncing in her seat as they took off. Xaiden occasionally looked in the rear view mirror at her in her car seat and couldn’t help but laugh as she admired the gift and couldn’t seem to sit still.
The next stop was the hospital. He pulled up to the emergency room doors and parked the car in the lot. He kept the car on as he turned back to Hope.

His lower voice traveled much farther than his normal voice, even if he wasn't yelling. He did turn back a bit to make sure he got her attention and when he was satisfied, he returned to the table in front of him. He didn't expect for Elina or Hope to treat him kindly after his display, but he was far beyond controlling himself.
@nakachu
He let her go then, knowing Hope would likely listen to her mother in that moment as opposed to him. As she left, he took his time gathering up the food they didn't eat and putting it all on the same tray. He made his way to the trash can and disposed of it all before taking his drink to the fountains to refill it. His eyes slowly glanced at the cashier who was busy tending to other customers before he focused on his drink and made his way towards the door. He didn't like how fast she was growing and he knew she needed some other kind of stimulation, but the danger far outweighed the benefits. She could hate him for the rest of her life if she wanted to, but at least she would have a long life that wasn't filled with running.
He peered out the glass doors to the best of his ability without opening them and saw the two conversing in the back of the truck. He wanted to give them both the space they needed and would only come out once Elina made her way into the passenger seat. He couldn't hear what was being said, but that didn't bother him. Maybe it would give Hope some amount of comfort knowing that he gave her as much privacy as he could. Once Elina made her way into the cab, he would walk out of the glass doors and make his way towards the drivers side, hopping in without a word as he pulled back onto the highway to finish their trek home.
@nakachu
He then turned to speak to Elina as he squeezed her hand.
"Everything is going to be okay."
He jumped out of the car then and slammed the door behind him. Once out of his family's vicinity, the rage slowly started to take over. He had been worried about what he would find, but as he walked up onto the porch he hoped he would find people inside. No one had the right to scare his family and get away with it. He noticed a few shoe prints on the porch, but quickly swung the door open in hopes of catching someone inside. What he saw was horrifying and it didn't even have the added bonus of someone standing their unsuspectingly. Their living room was trashed, furniture toppled over, glass broken and stuffing from pillows strewn about the floor. He slowly stepped into the residence and made his way into the kitchen.
The same was said for every room he found himself in. The kitchen had broken dishes scattered all across the floor, one of the back patio glass doors were broken and the bedrooms upstairs had been ransacked. The entire house have been flipped upside down as if someone was looking for something and couldn’t find it. He didn’t see anyone in the house, nor did he hear anyone try to escape his eyesight. Once he had thoroughly searched the house, he came outside to see Elina and Hope standing as close to each other as they could by the truck. He had no idea what he was going to tell them without freezing them with fear. He silently made his way over to them and crossed his arms across his chest when he got close.
“Did you girls see anything? There’s no one inside.”
@nakachu
Xaiden had already decided he would take the living room so that he could inspect the room a little more thoroughly. He wanted to see how they got in and if anything from the front room had been taken. It very well could be the last room they hit if they entered from another place, but he wouldn’t know until he checked.
@nakachu
It wasn’t until he heard his daughter holler for her mom that his heart truly sank. He stopped what he was doing and used his hearing to make out what they were saying in Elina’s doorway. Hope had been upset that a childhood stuffed animal was taken, but that was definitely something that he hadn’t seen. It wasn’t in the kitchen and when he walked back into the living room, it was nowhere to be found. He turned to head towards the staircase when he saw Hope looking down at him from the top of it. He simply shook his head in defeat and looked back down at the floor. ‘Why would someone break in to steal a stuffed cat?’ None of it made any sense and as he started to head up the stairs, he locked eyes with Elina.
“I didn’t see Whiskers downstairs. Surely someone didn’t break in to steal him though. He’s probably around here somewhere.”
His bright eyes found Elina’s with a tad of optimism in them. Hope had lost a lot in her young life and while it seemed silly, he didn’t want her to lose something so precious. There was a deep pool of anger boiling within him, but not enough that he let it show yet. His family needed him and if that meant keeping his composure for a little while longer, he would.
@nakachu
His hands tightened a bit around her arms before he pulled her into a tight hug and rubbed her back. A soft sigh left his lips as his eyes closed. He felt awful for the child. She had done everything she was told to and yet there were still hunters that were after them and likely sent by Airaden and his pack of mutts. The very idea was enough to get Xaiden’s blood going and he couldn’t let Hope see that side of him. He pulled her away and kissed her cheek, bringing his hand up to her head before pressing his forehead against hers.
“I need you to understand that you did not do this. I don’t know how they found us, but everything is okay right now, alright?” He would kiss her forehead then before pulling farther away from her. “Why don’t you go upstairs and help your mom with getting rid of the irreparable stuff?”
If she agreed and left him in the kitchen alone, ||he would rise to his feet and his eyes would become sharper. Like a switch flipped, all the fear and sadness turned into rage as he stepped through the broken back door. The backyard was trashed as well and had he been a younger vampire, he might not have caught the soft tracks they left in the woods. He couldn’t leave his family unprotected, but now he knew where they were coming from or maybe where they had run off too. He wanted to scream and shout, but there was no reason to alert them of his presence if they were nearby. Instead, he made his way to the shed to see if they had wood or spare glass for the windows.
As he pulled open the shed door, he saw the vandalism that had occurred inside. These people left nothing to chance and seeing how they destroyed ANY room they could on the property, it only made Xaiden realize that they absolutely checked the freezer. They knew they were vampires and there was no way all the destruction wasn't a sign. There wasn’t much intact in the shed, nothing that could be used for anything to repair the windows anyway. Tools were broken in half, spare planks were broken in two and even the food for the cattle was strewn about the floor. Lifting up a broken rake handle, his eyes could’ve flashed red in rage. Wood would kill Hope or himself and out of all five of the tools lying around, only one handle remained.
Using his speed, he locked the shed down and rushed into the house, quickly trying to find anything to cover the windows and door with. The only thing he could find that would do any good was large blankets and he still didn’t have anything to nail them to the walls with right away. Trying to keep calm, he decided that they couldn’t stay there for the night. They would have to leave and return in the morning to work or they might be woken late at night with a surprise. He refused to keep his family in a compromising position and as he made his way to the stairs, he called up to the two women.
“Pack your bags, girls. We aren’t staying here tonight.”
@nakachu911
@nakachu
“Alright, ladies. We’ve been on the road awhile. How about we stop at a hotel?”
He would look back at the both of them for confirmation as he seamlessly drove down the exit ramp. He wasn’t exactly sure which state they were in, but if he had to guess he would’ve went with one of the Carolina’s. The breeze was nice enough for him to have his window down a bit as he started paying more attention to the traffic than he had been. He followed a few signs and before long, he pulled into the parking lot of a four-story hotel that seemed fairly new.
“Well… What do we think about this for the night?”
@nakachu
