College was an important time in many people's lives. People of all ages would enter this school to obtain a degree that would better their future. Molly Bolton was no different. She had done things differently instead of typical students, and instead of entering college at age eighteen, she took a few years off to work and save up some money. She then entered college at age twenty one. Now at age twenty two, she was a sophomore, and she was on her way to earning her degree. With every college degree, there were classes that were required for someone's general education. Molly's degree was in Education, but one of the courses she had to take was a biology course, and Molly chose to take Marine Biology. The professor's name was Jonathan McCoy, and from day one, Molly had found Mr. McCoy to be fascinating and engaging. As time went on, she was found herself more and more drawn to Mr. McCoy. He was friendly, kind, understanding, and incredibly smart. She felt so giddy around him, and today was no different. Today was Molly's twenty second birthday. As her Marine Biology class ended, she walked up to Mr. McCoy with a smile. "Hi, Mr. McCoy! Today's lesson was really interesting!" @vegas949

Johnathan McCoy looked up to see the bubbly Molly. Even her smile was infectious. He had just finished printing up a flyer when she had approached. He couldn't help but smile. "Well hello Miss Bolton. I am glad someone enjoyed it. I could have sworn I heard snoring from the back. But I don't know why anyone would sleep on my lecture of Otters and their habitats. " He proceeded to grab the flyer. It was bright yellow with a sail boat on it. Johnathan was closing up his lap top and grab his paper back novel. It was almost his lunch time and he had finally gotten to a nice part in the book. "So what's on your plans for tonight? Gonna hit the town? Some big birthday bash?" He had checked his student's info and knew it was her birthday. He knew he sounded like an old man, but he at least wanted to wish her a proper birthday.

Molly blushed a little as he asked about her birthday. He remembered her birthday? That was so sweet! However, a sad smile crept up her lips and she shook her head. "No. Unfortunately, my parents are overseas for work, and everyone was busy." That wasn't true. Well, not all of it. Molly didn't really have any friends. She had people she was friendly with, but no one had reached out to her, and those that she had tried to reach out to were either busy, or didn't respond. It was a little sad and disheartening, but, what could she do. "I'll probably just go home and make myself some hibachi noodles and have some wine. Just something simple." She shrugged. @vegas949

Johnathan's heart sank. No one should be alone on their birthday. His thoughts began to race. He started to weigh the pros and cons of his next idea. But even if so many cons were there, he couldn't help but go with his gut. "Miss Bolton. I have been where you are right now. I had many b-day alone. And I truly hated it, and don't wish that on anyone. So if you would not mind having a very public dinner with a teacher, the is a hibachi grill on campus that I think you deserve. " Johnathan knew it was not the best idea to have dinner with a student. It was public, he would at least try and talk about class and like much hibachi grills, they would be sitting in a group. Plus... he wanted her never to lose that smile.

Molly's eyes widened as he offered to take her out for dinner at a hibachi dinner. This was the first time anyone had ever wanted to take her out to dinner... and having it be her professor was another strange part too. "I...I would be honored! Thank you! That's very kind of you, Sir." She smiled sweetly. "What time should I meet you there? The hibachi restaurant is close to my apartment." Another thought struck her, and Molly couldn't help but blush a little as she realized that she'd be having dinner with her professor! Not just any professor, Professor McCoy. She had always been interested in him, and she was really honored that he would care for her like this. @vegas949

"Hmmm let's say 8pm. I will call and set it up. " After she had left , he made a quick call. The reservation was set and paid for ahead of time. He couldn't help but smile at the aspect of making Molly smile. He told himself it was just him being a good teacher and helping morale. But a nagging thought said he was happy to take this sweet girl on a date. He literally was on auto while doing the next three classes. He kept checking his phone for the n time. It felt like time was crawling. Once the class ended, he left to make his way home faster than he should have. If he had to guess, he probably sped and should have gotten a ticket. But luck was on his side. He got home and was greeted by his roommate/ puppy. Artie the corgi was so ready for time with Johnathan. "Sorry buddy...Daddy has a non date. " He fed Artie and went to his closet. He pulled out 3 different colored dress shirts. "Which one do you think?" After a very unhelpful doggo advice, he settled for jewel blue dress shirt and a black tie. Of course his dog being color blind didn't help. But after some prep time, he was ready for his non date. An hour later he was standing in front of the hibachi restaurant.

Molly went through the rest of the day looking at the clock. She was so excited to leave that the second her last class ended, she gathered her belongings and headed out to her apartment. Molly's apartment was close to campus so she had no trouble getting there. Professor McCoy that they would meet at eight. She did some chores and finished her homework, and at six thirty she got ready. At eight, she was walking up the sidewalk towards the hibachi restaurant. Hibachi Flame was one of the best restaurants in town, and Molly was really excited to be there, but she was even more excited to be there with Professor McCoy. Molly was dressed in a black dress with half sleeves and a flowy skirt that went to her knees and high heels. The sleeves were made of black lace and the dress sat right below her shoulders, exposing her upper back and her collarbones. She brushed her hair and curled the ends, and the only makeup she had on was a pink lipstick and mascara and eyeliner. She laid eyes on Professor McCoy and Molly's lips curled into a smile. "Hi, Professor McCoy!" She waved her hand and she approached him. "You look really nice." @vegas949

Johnathan heard this name. He turned to see her only to be pushes back on his heels. This could not be the same girl from his class. No this was a stunning woman. And he was not prepared. "Molly...wow.... I mean you look very.... nice.... yes nice....wow " He stammered. Any sort of language left him. "Um let's get a spot for the dinner... " He almost slammed into the wall cause he kept looking at her. As Johnathan got to the host, he grabbed his wallet and pulled a bill. What he grabbed, Johnathan couldn't tell since his eyes were on her. "Get us a proper spot for the birthday girl. " As he handed the hostess a bill. The hostess eyes widened...."Sir are you sure? We normally don't..." Johnathan cut her off. "It's fine. It's her birthday ! We have to go special, right?" "Right this way. " The hostess lead them away from the hibachi stations and into a private room. "Um? What's this?" "Sir you paid for the special room..." and holds up a $100 bill. Johnathan sweatted He meant to give a 10... but now had apparently paid for a private hibachi room for the two of them.... not according to plan at all.... "H h happy birth..... day?"
