Off to see Fall Out Boy with a Good Boy
It was funny and she couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her as she hit the send button.
Cassie Johnson.
A small smirk formed on his face before he clicked it, watching the app take him to her profile where the very first picture was one of her and James on their way to the concert. He rolled his eyes and squeezed his phone a bit as he tried not to stare too hard at the photo. ‘A Good Boy’… He tossed his phone down without accepting the request before starting to put together his meal for the night. There should’ve been some sort of pride there that she had to change before her date or that her hair looked freshly washed like she took a shower, but instead it was pure jealousy. He didn’t want her out with him and the rage he felt inside felt completely unwarranted when only forty-eight hours ago he was ready to fire her just so he didn’t have to hear her speak again.

I truly hope you’re having a great night, Cassandra. Feel free to not come in tomorrow if you’re not well.
There is absolutely no way I will not be coming in tomorrow. I may be late, but expect to see me Mr. Lowe.
She locked her phone, resting in on her chest as she returned her attention to the movie that was playing. What had he been doing for the night? She tried to imagine if it was him by her side in the hotel, would they argue about the movie or would they continue what they had been doing earlier? She chewed on her lip at the reminder of what they had done in the breakroom and her core ached.

You'd like that, wouldn't you? Not having to put up with my smart mouth? In your dreams, sir.
Satisfied with that response she hit send, locking her phone and sticking it in her back pocket before once again joining James. She finished out the movie with him with no further incident of him trying to get too comfortable and it was a relief. Perhaps she had scared him enough, or maybe he was catching on but whatever was the case she was relieved. After it was over she bid him goodnight, retiring to her own room and stripping down to her underwear before climbing into the comfortable queen sized bed on her own.
Cassie couldn't help but hold her phone, wondering if perhaps he might reply to her before sleep claimed her. If he did... Or if he didn't would reflect on what sort of dreams she would have for the night.
If I’m honest, I’m starting to realize just how much I appreciate that mouth of yours, especially in my dreams, ma’am.
He didn’t care. She won. All that time he had spent counting his winnings against her, now that she was away with someone else he couldn’t bring himself care about losing. Maybe he was a fool for showing how much she effected him, but he couldn’t help it. Even now, he stared at his phone anxiously awaiting a reply as if she had nothing better to do than message him.
@enchantednymph
You say that now, but as soon as I stood in front of you...
Cassie hit send, her bottom lip going between her teeth before she continued.
You'd just be irritated and growly like you were a dog or something.
@shayshayrian
I said I appreciated your mouth, not necessarily what comes out of it. Out of the two of us, you’re the one in desperate need of training, love.
She had called him a dog and he had too in riposte, but she had no clue how right she was. Maybe his genetics had something to do with why he was so protective over her suddenly, but it was much more than that and he knew it by hours much his heart rate picked up at just seeing those dots when she would start to reply.
@enchantednymph
 You have yet to experience just what my mouth can do Mr. Lowe...
She paused for a moment before quickly adding.
To Aiden Lowe: Do you think you have it in you to train me? Because I'd like to see you try...
A small chuckle from her lips as she sent send. Her left hand moved to run through her hair before she fell back down to rest her head on her pillow. Was she actually flirting with her asshole of a boss right now? It certainly seemed like it but... Cassie shook her head. No, clearly the drinks were getting to her. There was no way she could actually like Aiden Lowe.
@shayshayrian
If your secret kisses are any indication, I have a pretty good idea what your mouth can do. As for training you, I think I do. I mean, I already have you thinking about me at midnight… How is your golden boy?
He chuckled evilly to himself as he sent it. She may not respond to that, but if she didn’t he considered that a point. Here they were, flirting back and forth and how was she doing so without James seeing her? She did say they would get one room. Was he on the couch? On the floor? Asleep next to her? He couldn’t help but smile at the mere thought that she was talking to him like she was whether he was there or not.
@enchantednymph
You think you do but I bet I have a thing or two that'd surprise you...
Cassie opened up her camera app and placed it propped up on the pillow before positioning herself so that he could see she was alone in the bed. She hit the camera button and it began to count down from five. Before the last second ticked by Cassie quickly removed her oversized shirt to reveal her underwear. It was a last minute decision but the picture came out decent. Before she could chicken out she sent him the quick snap.
As the seconds ticked by she started to worry that perhaps she had taken it a step too far, boldened by the distance between them currently and the alcohol that was running through her veins.
@shayshayrian (edited)
You are full of surprises… Where is your date? If I knew you were going to spend the night alone I would’ve extended an invitation.
He only started breathing again after he sent the message. She was incredible and with every passing second, he was getting harder underneath those sheets. All she had to do was say the word and he would come get her. His eyes were laser focused on the screen, anxiously waiting for her reply.
@enchantednymph
My bed is empty save for myself, James has his own room... After what you pulled in the breakroom it wasn't like I could do much else. As to your invitation I highly doubt it. I wouldn't expect anything from it...
Was she playing with fire? Could anything actually come from this? The doubt was there but she couldn't help but hold her breath as she awaited his response.
@shayshayrian
I’m glad I could give you something to remember for the rest of your night, but it doesn’t have to end there. Just tell me you’re lonely and I’ll be there in half the time it took you to get there.
He jumped up from the bed and started slipping on a pair of underwear, jeans and a loose-fitting T-shirt. If she wanted him to come get her, he would be out the door before she had time to sit her phone down. Grabbing his keys, he took a picture of his keys in his hand with his jeans clearly visible in the background and sent that as well.
To Cassie Johnson: Just say the words.
@enchantednymph
Room 210 second floor of Riverside Hotel
Granted her words weren't exactly what he had wanted her to say, but that was all he would get. If he came... Sucking in a breath she rolled over and buried her face into her pillow letting out a silent exasperated yell. What even was she doing? What was he doing? Did either of them even know?
Picking back up her phone she opened her camera, positioning her legs one over the other, only showing him a tiny glimpse of her panties. Sending the image she attached the following.
To Aiden Lowe: The clock is ticking Aiden...
@shayshayrian
Keep up encouragement like that and I’ll be there sooner than even I expected.
He was flying down the road. If there had been a cop patrolling that highway at that time of night, he surely would’ve been busted. His arrival time was quickly dropping, what had started as two hours had swiftly turned into an hour and a half. He was making great time for only being on the highway for maybe ten minutes. His eyes were able to spot cop cars and other hazards as he drove, making his way to his girl in record time.
@enchantednymph
If you do manage that... I may just have a treat waiting for you...
@shayshayrian 1

After all this driving, I’m going to need more than a treat, but something tells me you have dinner warmed up.
@enchantednymph
I think I can manage that... Keep your eyes on the road Mr. Lowe.
What was she even doing? Cassie shook her head, locking her phone and placing it on the side table. She slid from the bed and went back into the bathroom and looked herself over before getting a small cup of water. Staring at her reflection as she drank she wondered if it was a good idea to invite him here when James was still in the other adjoining room. If the breakroom incident was any indicator of what it would be like when he got here... If he knew James was on the other side of that wall? Her eyelids drooped a bit at the idea. He seemed like the type who was territorial, all alpha male energy. Cassie shivered and set the empty cup by the sink and left the dim bathroom light on as she made her way back to the bed.
She stopped by the adjoining door and made sure that it was locked before she felt comfortable enough to climb back into the bed. She thought about putting on a movie but Cassie had a feeling if she had did that some of the heat that had slowly begun to build between her thighs would diminish so instead she crawled back under the blankets and let her hands slowly drift beneath the sheets. She would use the faintest of touches, just enough to keep the heat going though as the minutes ticked by she found herself shutting her eyes and imagining the look he had given her at the club.
A soft moan escaped her as her nipples pebbled against the fabric of her bra and she shifted slightly as she applied just a bit more pressure to her core as her fingers slipped beneath the silky fabric. He was a dangerous one in more ways than one and that was part of the problem. Like a moth to a flame he pulled her in with his icy words and cockiness. She wanted to see all the different sides that made up Aiden Lowe, and maybe tonight would be just the beginning...
@shayshayrian
Would you believe me if I said I was here?
He pulled his lip between his teeth as his heart pounded out of his chest. She was just on the other side of that door and it was taking every ounce of willpower he had not to bust through it.

 He wasn't entirely sure what she was asking as his mind had been miles away when she asked. Was it the way he held himself in the car or the way he spoke? Was it a look he unknowingly had in his eyes or was it simply their past together? He turned his bright blue gaze to her for a split second with a hint of a smile on his lips before turning back to the highway in front of them. He couldn't help but think how beautiful she was in his passenger seat and that thought made his jaw clench a bit. He couldn't stand the fact that every time he looked at her he felt a wave of warmth coat his body, especially when she was being absolutely impossible.

 He could've went on. He could've told her how envious he was whenever his mind wandered to her or how much harder he fucked her in the break room just because she was on the phone with him. She drove him absolutely crazy in every way and while the sentiment was rooted in his mind, he couldn't voice it to her. He couldn't bring himself to tell her how tight of a hold she had on him because the last thing he would want to do was involve her in his life that deeply. He lived a dangerous life with even more dangerous people and no matter what he had seen in her eyes, there was no way he was going to subject her to that. Instead, he decided it was likely best to keep her as far away from himself as possible.
"I know where we are headed, but I can drop you off anywhere. Your own home perhaps?"
He wanted her to come back with him, but it was far too dangerous. They couldn't be together even if he wanted to be and if he had to be the one to break what they were starting, then he would. He made a few more turns on the dark roads until he was back on another highway, cruising down the lonely road with only Cassandra's company to break the silence.

 "Alright, Cassandra. It's time to tell me what's going on. We still have another hour before we hit the city and I am not taking you anywhere until you tell me the truth." He gave her that mischievous grin that sat all too well on his face before focusing back on driving. "Why did your eyes change colors when we were having sex?"
He was aware that she might not have even noticed they had, but she also didn't point out his when he knew damn well that the golden-yellow hue was very distinguishable from his usual blue. Maybe she was just caught up in the moment or maybe she had been lying about what she was from the beginning, either way he was going to get down to the bottom of it before they hit the city limits.

 Images of their encounters slid through his memory like a power point presentation. He recalled every movement, every noise and every moan as their sweat and fluids combined. She was a breath of fresh air, a sparkling light in his otherwise lack-luster life and for a brief moment his lips curled into a faint smile. He remembered how she had made him feel with their messages and how he had turned down sex with his mentor due to his feelings for Cassandra. He hadn't known it at the time, but he had deep feelings for her and now... Now he felt wounded and broken by the very same woman. He pulled himself back from the lovely memories that would always reside in his mind and focused back on the dark, empty road. His eyes dulled to a deep blue and his facial features seemed to tighten as he remembered that she was still sitting in the spot next to him.
"My mistake, Miss Johnson. It must have been a shift of the light. I didn't see anything at all."
His voice came out far more steady than he thought it was going to, but it was clear that it took every ounce of will he had to only say what he had. An abundance of emotions were raging through him, but instead of lashing out he simply gripped the wheel a little tighter and grinded his teeth together. He would not start anymore conversation with her the rest of the trip, only answer anything she asked as direct as he could. Once he came to the next stop sign, he looked down at his phone again to plug in the address she had given him to his GPS. It lit up on the screen above his radio and allowed him to follow every direction without asking her for anything.

 He threw the car in reverse and slowly made his way back down the hill and onto the street. It would take him much less time to get home than it did to her hotel and he couldn't be happier. The late night escapade was worth every minute away from home he had, even if in the end it simply solidified why he had to end things with the woman who had captured him mind. The five minute drive was filled with thoughts of what he would say to her the next time he saw her at work, but every time he thought of the gallery he thought of James. By the time he made it home, he was filled with anger and jealousy, a fuel that hadn't properly combined within him in a long time.
He didn't act out, nor did he scream and shout. Aiden Lowe internalized every emotion the woman had given him and tried his best to tell himself that it was over. It didn't matter that she had broken his heart, nor did James matter any longer. She was free to do as she wished because in all actuality, she had never really been his. She was denying her true form and he couldn't be with someone like that anyway. His mind was a stewing pot full of hatred that would settle behind a hair-trigger just waiting to be pulled whether he knew it or not.

 As he pushed the door open, a small sigh left his lips. The table was exactly where they had left it, signs of scuffing down by each leg against the floor, and for a brief moment he could've sworn he saw Cassandra bent over it. He was going to see her in every accessible room of that gallery along with an encounter that they shared that wasn't all that long ago. Pushing past his mental blocks, he went about making himself a cup of coffee before looking for the foreman. He needed an update on the renovations and then all that was left to do was wait on her to show up. Surely she wouldn't decide that now was the time to take her offered vacation. No, she would be there and he would be waiting for her.

 'Fairness' and 'Peace' were heavy words where Aiden came from. They were almost always said to respected member of the community and very always expressed with the utmost sincerity. While the man's soft smirk did not relay the sincerity well, it was insinuated in those bright eyes. It all seemed a little too coincidental, that Cassandra's wolf form came out and the next day there is a family emergency, but Aiden didn't pretend to know what went on in her life, nor make assumptions about her inner circle. Instead, he would politely escort Ewan out of the building if he didn't have anything further to add.

If you're going to be gone for longer than two weeks, you'll have to let me know how long so I can figure out what to do with either your pay or your position.
He tried to be professional about it, but more than anything he wanted to ask what was wrong. He couldn't though, not after their last fight. The haunting stare she gave him would linger in his mind the rest of the day, along with the even worse possibility that she wouldn't return. His figure was tense and his eyes focused completely on his imagination the rest of the day. He decided once work had ended, then he would text her again if she hadn't responded to see if he could maybe swing by sometime and find out properly what was wrong with her.
@enchantednymph

The absence of lights in Aiden's residence was only one of the many noticeable transitions from the man over the last few days. He had been sticking around the gallery less and less, if he didn't seem withdrawn before he absolutely did now and when he arrived home earlier in the day, he didn't even bother turning the lights on. He sank into his recliner, still dressed in the same clothes he had been in at the gallery and stared absently at the blank, black tv screen on the wall. He hadn't heard from Cassandra since he dropped her off at her grandparents house and the image of her walking through that door continuously played in his mind. Looking down at his phone, he lazily swiped his thumb across the screen as if what he was doing wasn't going to amount to anything anyway.
To Cassandra Johnson: Thinking of you.
He sent the message, the 8th one over the course of three days that had yet to be responded to, and sat his phone down on his thigh. One hand unknowingly picked at his bottom lip while the other gently let his fingers fall on the case of his phone. His pinky hit first, followed by his ring finger, then the middle one until they all hit the phone before lifting up to repeat themselves. He was thinking of her, thinking of what he needed to do to rectify her situation or at least get her to talk to him again. He was beyond wondering why she mattered so much to him, he was going stir crazy and with every silent second, more feral. Leaping up from the chair and tossing the phone onto the couch, he ran up the stairs into his bedroom. The stoic expression remained on his face as he quickly disrobed into nothing but his underwear and a pair of loose-fitting shorts that came down to his knees. He needed to get out and he knew if he got behind the wheel, there was no telling the damages he would do. Sliding his running shoes over his socked-feet, he bolted down the stairs and out the front door without locking it behind him. The atmosphere was immediately different and cased his eyes to slam shut for a moment. The cool air hit him hard, causing all the tiny hairs across his body to stand on end and it also allowed him to take the first full breath he had taken in what felt like years. He immediately began to job down the streets, slowly opening his eyes and just letting his feet take him wherever they needed to go.
The sidewalk below him quickly turned to grass and the straight path he had been taking became full of twists and turns, peaks and valleys as the grass gradually turned into forest floor. It wasn't until he heard the sound of water that he realized he had run clear out of town and into the forest that seemed to stretch for miles behind it. The moon light shone through the trees and illuminated everything around him to the point he thought a flashlight may even hinder his vision, not that he would ever have a use for something as mundane as a flashlight. He only stopped to admire the view for a moment before he looked straight up and saw how full the moon was overhead. It felt like he was coming home after a long time away.

His moment of respite was ended rather abruptly though as a blood-curdling scream launched it's way through the trees around him. It was distant, but distant enough for him to miss or even reach. That should've been enough to unnerve him, a shrill shriek slicing through the rustling leaves in an otherwise peaceful forest, but no. Aiden's heart dropped into his stomach and his blood ran cold, but not because of the presence of the scream, but because he knew exactly who it was. Almost instantly, fangs protruded an inch from their usual places in his mouth as he honed in on the direction and ran full speed towards it. Branches were switching his skin and leaves were being kicked up behind the man as bright blue eyes, then after a blink, striking golden eyes stared straight ahead towards the source of Cassandra's cries.

 Without a single word or thought about what they could be doing, Aiden went to use his speed to rush into the circle and snatch Cassandra off the ground. He needed to save her from whatever satanic cult exercise they were doing to her because from everything he had witnessed, they were going to kill her. Bright gold eyes were locked onto the poor woman in the circle, paying no mind to anyone else around him. It was the first time he had seen her in days and to see her screaming and writhing in pain caused every muscle in his body to strengthen. If he was stopped, he would fight with every ounce of fortitude he had to get within that circle. If he couldn't, he would have to resort to screaming.
"CASSANDRA! DON'T LET THEM DO THIS! FIGHT! FIGHT BACK!"

 The words bellowed into Aiden's ear, but he refused to listen, refused to even look at the half-shifted man as he himself started to shift. Claws shot out from his fingers, fangs ejected from his gums and his muscles seemed to harden into steel. He didn't need to fully shift, not to escape the confines of Ewan's grip. With a swift jerk and a tossed elbow to the chin of the old man, Aiden broke free and took lengthy strides to reach the center of the circle. Adrenaline and rage pushed Aiden unshakably towards his target allowing him to scoop her off the ground and nearly pounce out of the circle with only two steps to do so. He felt her chest heaving, her limbs clawing into him and her whimpers as every single candle in the circle suddenly went out.
Piercing eyes that practically glowed in the night stared at the ground as he cradled Cassandra in his arms. He was panting as well, out of breath and slowly feeling his adrenaline drain now that she was safe. He couldn't bring himself to look at her, smelling her blood in the air, as he turned to face the two that in his mind, had been torturing her. Dangerous, golden eyes stared directly into the matching set he saw across the ritual site while Aiden helped his granddaughter in silence. The air was still around them all until Aiden's gruff voice broke it like a sonic boom in the sky.

His grip on Cassandra tightened as he held her close to his chest, her legs draped over one arm while the other wrapped around her torso. He hadn't yet checked on her, but he couldn't bring himself to look away from the threats around them. He could see the woman who was chanting, but he didn't consider her as much of a danger as he did Ewan. He had wanted the event to continue, the torture to go on and Aiden wasn't going to allow it. Any advancement made by either parties would have Aiden's eyes fixed on them as a low, guttural growl came from his throat. He had lost her once, he didn't plan on doing it again.
"You have ten seconds to start explaining why I shouldn't kill you both right here and now."

 He would continue to pet her fur and stare into her eyes until he could at least be sure she wasn't violently shaking with fear. She was gorgeous and for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why she had never shown signs of her shift before. Now, her scent was an aphrodisiac that he would be able to track across countries. There wasn't a place she could go that he couldn't find her in wolf-form. He wouldn't be pulled from his trance until someone spoke up. He was hypnotized without question and more concerned for her well-being than anything anyone else had to say.

 "I'm so sorry for this. I don't even know if you can understand me properly... I didn't-- Can you shift back? Are you stuck in this form?... ugghh... Well. I know I can't leave you out here. I guess I'm finally taking you back to my place after all?"
He chuckled a bit at their situation. She didn't want to go home with him when she was human, but now that she was a wolf she didn't have a choice. He looked out towards the woods and knew how freeing it was to run through them. He couldn't imagine how it would feel for her since she had never done it. His eyes then fell on her belongings and the card from the witch. They were things he needed to take with them and things he couldn't carry if he shifted. With a long sigh he made his way over to collect everything he could.
"Maybe another time. For now, let's get you something to eat and somewhere warm to rest."

 "Okay, but you have to stay with me. I don't know who we could run into tonight. Stay close and don't stop."
He made sure she understood before looking back in front of him. They wouldn't have to worry about the fallen limbs he was currently stepping over or the slow pace at which he was currently traveling, he was more concerned with hunters or predators in the woods that he hadn't explored yet. He took another deep breath before sticking the folded end of her clothes, along with the card, between his teeth as his eyes slowly started to glow gold. One foot after another he started to speed up; jogging became running and running became bounding as his muscles grew, contorted and burst out of his clothes. Snapping bones and deep groans were the only sound next to her aside from the rustling of the leaves he was causing with his-- paws. They were paws and within a few seconds a thick black coat grew along every patch of skin. His clothes fell off him in shreds as he jumped one finally time over a broken log. When he landed, he landed as a full, large, black wolf with those same golden eyes. He came to a stuttered stop when he realized Cassandra wasn't next to him anymore. Turning back, he saw her standing at the log he had just leapt over, staring at him. With a forced exhale through his snout and a tilt of his head towards the woods, he slowly started to walk until she was next to him again.

If she was ready and he could see it in her eyes, he would look forward again and take off into the trees. The wind whipped through his coat and the chilled ground seeped through his bones. Running through the forest was one of the most freeing feelings he could experience and part of him wanted to see that on her face. He'd slow his pace just enough to keep her in view without having to turn his head much if he could, watching the euphoria wash over her. He made sure to keep her close, slowing down or speeding up if necessary and making sure she saw him when he made a turn or diverted from their current path in any way.

Mine'
The word seeped into his mind as if he heard it being spoken directly to him. It made his eyes shift to hers for a moment as they ran with a questioning look. He could hear perfectly in wolf form if humans spoke, but what shook him was the fact that it was her voice. It was as if she said the word directly to him and it made his pace slow a bit. Shaking his large head, he continued to race through the forestry with her, letting her separate from him a bit to truly feel the freeing embrace of the wind through her coat. Once they neared the city by a mile or so, he started to slow as they wouldn't be able to rush through the wood line, but like a bat out of hell he saw her copper fur race by in a blur off in the distance.
He had let her get a few feet away, but he didn't realize just how far she had gotten as he came to sit on the small hill he found himself on. The trees were getting sparce around them and it allowed him to watch as she bolted through clearing after clearing to feel the thrill of being free. A small chuckle echoed through his head as he spit the clothes out on the ground and looked towards the edge of the forest. It was still a few yards away and in the opposite direction that Cassandra had ran. A small whine came from his throat as he turned around, leaving her belongings on the hill and ran after the freshly-freed woman. Her scent was everywhere in the air, something he enjoyed picking up on as he charged after her. She was merely enjoying herself and it was foolish of him to think she wouldn't want to if she hadn't ever experienced it. He didn't lose sight of her for very long as at time as they practically danced through the trees. He made sure to stay behind her and keep his distance as well, mainly just watching over her to make sure she didn't wind up in a sticky situation. Once she hit the open meadow fields, he almost just sat on the edge of the clearing and watched her frolic. He had never been more in love with anyone that he was in that moment. Fireflies leapt from their perched positions and the bright red from her fur made her stand out so beautifully among the nature that surrounded her.
Letting his jaw fall open as he licked his nose and tilted his head, he decided to give her a bit of a surprise since she had blatantly disobeyed him. Sneaking into the tall grass nearby, he lowered himself to the ground and waited for her to come back up the hill before he emitted a low growl and pounced onto her side. He sent her into the ground with his surprise attack, but made sure his claws didn't nick her as he pushed her down with his paws. Standing over her for a moment, he lowered his nose to her temple and neck before huffing out an exhale and staring down at her bright eyes. He couldn't be mad at her and he didn't want to be. Instead, he nuzzled her snout with his own before bringing his tongue out to lick against her cheek.

"`I told you to stay close, Copper..." He more so said it to himself than to her, but what he didn't know was that she would hear every word. If she would allow him, he would move off of her, lifting one paw off the ground and away from her shoulder to no longer be hovering over her. They needed to get home before someone saw them and decided to hunt them for sport. She was brand new and didn't need to have an encounter with a hunter on her first night in the woods.

I told you to stay close, Copper"

You were here. I am."
She closed her mouth then, her nose nudging against his own before she gave him a return lick against his muzzle. Cassie let out a soft whimper, she knew they needed to leave, to go to his home like he had said but she was enjoying herself and she wasn't sure what would happen once they got to his place. Like this...Like this they were the same, they were complete.
You were here. I am.’
He had to shove down the craving to be in awe of her. She was magical as she hovered above him, nuzzling against him and giving him the same affection he had given her. He couldn’t blame her for her actions, but they needed to be on their way. A soft, groaned whine left him as he muscled his way out from underneath her. Shaking his coat out and turning back to her, he said what was on his mind.
“I promise I’ll take you for a longer run another time. For now, we need to head back.” There was a hint of sadness in his eyes before he turned away to head back into the woods. He didn’t want the night to end, but he was more worried about her protection at the moment than anything else. He’s wait for him to join him before he made his way back to the hill to pick up her belongings again. Sitting on the ground, he would turn to look at her before he spoke.

“Come on. We’re almost there.”
His voice in her mind was just a fraction deeper than his normal voice, the wolf bringing about a gruffness that his human form couldn’t. He would run down the hill and make his way, carefully, to the edge of the woodline. Looking off to both directions first, he lightly trotted out of the woods and towards the small collection of houses that lined the street ahead. He made sure to come out of the woods on his street, but they would still have to make it past a handful of others before they made it into his yard. Lightly jogging and occasionally casting his eyes to Cassandra, he finally made it onto his back porch without anyone alerting them of their presence.
Poking his head up to listen for trespassers, he took one last look at Cassandra before he shifted. His transformation didn’t take long at all and almost seemed quieter than it had before. Hair disappeared to reveal his tanned skin, bones grew while muscle diminished and his canine posture shifted into a more humanoid form. He was suddenly standing over her as he opened the door for her to run through before stepping through himself. His naked form was only covered by the clothes he had had in his mouth as he dropped them in his hand to cover his genitals. Once the door was closed, he leaned against it for a moment, twisting his neck to stretch out the muscles that had cramped during their rough-housing.

 The name on his tongue didn't feel right anymore, not with her in her current state, but he didn't have anything solid to call her yet. He didn't know how she felt about the transition and while running through the fields she looked happy, he knew that running under the moon had that effect on even the most depressed of weres. Licking his lips and scrunching his brows at the thought, he slid his steak on a separate plate, turned the stove off and brought both plates to the island in the middle of the kitchen. He would set her plate next to his until he saw her, lowering it down to his side as if to ask if she wanted him to sit the plate on the floor. Wherever she decided to eat, he would take a seat at the island and grab a fork and knife for himself.
He watched her eat for a few bites of his own meal before he came to the conclusion that he wouldn't be able to finish the whole thing. He felt sick from the events over the last week and needed sleep more than anything else; maybe then he would know how he was going to handle what happened to her. He made a mental note that the witch's number was still in the laundry room and he might have to give her a call when he awoke the next morning. Taking one more bite, he shoved the fork in his mouth as he sat his plate next to hers, on the counter or on the floor. He tossed his silverware in the sink and let out a deep sigh as he looked out towards his living room. Bath first, then rest.

 He said with a genuine smirk. Scrubbing up the side he hadn't had the chance to properly clean, he made sure to only get the spots that were dirty before lifting her front paws to see if they needed scrubbed as well. Looking around the tub, he found a rather long scrub brush that was meant for reaching the middle of the back, but it would do well to get around her claws. After fighting, tugging and chastising her a bit to get her paws cleaned, he finally stood up to drain the tub and held both of his arms out to her.
"FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS, Please. Wait."
If she would let him, he would make his way over to the towel rack, slipping and slidding on the floor to grab a handful to towels to attempt to dry her off. He wouldn't be able to get her completely dry, but it would be enough to not have to worry about her walking through the house, dripping.

First.
How he had managed to communicate with her telepathically so easily when they had been in the forest Cassie didn't know but it took her a lot just to manage a few words and if she tried to think something complicated her head would begin to ache. With a huff she lifted her paw to scratch at her nose before deciding that she was done being scrubbed down. Without looking at Aiden she pushed passed him and padded out of the bathroom. Not even caring to look for permission before she jumped up on the bed.
She paced in circles until she found a comfortable spot and plopped herself down. Her head moving to lay on her paws. Her eyes stayed on the bathroom wondering if Aiden would follow or if he would clean himself first. Cassie was exhausted, the events of the night still had her muscles and bones aching. The entirety of it weighing on her mentally and physically.

 His eyes had drifted to her fur as he spoke and when he felt like he had said too much, they redirected to her eyes. They were bluer than any ocean and shined bright than any full moon he had ever seen. It felt right having her next to him, but he could only speak for himself. He brought his hand back up to her muzzle, rubbing her nose softly before he rolled back and pressed his spine into the mattress. His eyes moved towards the ceiling then, a million thoughts flying through his head.

 "There are different species of werewolves and every one of them change differently. Some are forced to change under the full moon, others have a bit of free-will and can decide when and if they want to shift ever. For us, the curse is triggered when you... kill another person."
He gave pause in his explanation and focused on the hands that were on his companion. If she flinched or leapt up from the bed, he couldn't blame her. He had told her from the very beginning that he wasn't a good person and that she deserved better. This was one of those reasons.
"Because I was his son, they made me do it in front of our entire pack. They picked some half-starved kid that was about my age and deemed him unable to make anything of his future self. It was probably because he was thin and lanky, but that was no reason to die. My father said if I had to kill someone, it might as well be someone who was no good to anybody but themselves... When it was all said and done, my body began to change right there. I had already had the fever, the chills and the nightmares for weeks, letting them know I was ready. Usually those things come in between your first kill and your transformation, but apparently not for someone who was a pure-blood wolf. My body broke in front of everyone I ever knew and I don't think I've ever felt that kind of pain since."

That wasn't the case, Cassandra being the first person outside of his pack that he had ever told, but he didn’t seem to mind her knowing. Perhaps it was because in her current form she couldn’t berate him for his actions, even if they were chosen by someone above him. When he finished, he held her a little tighter if she had remained next to him. His fingers pressed a little deeper into her fur the silence settled over them, but before it could make the moment anymore depressing than it already was, he rolled onto his side and let his eye fall on hers. There was pain in his eyes, but not tears. He caressed her face again before one corner of his mouth rose a bit.
“I’m sorry to dump all of that on you. We should get some sleep.”
He would give her a moment to find a comfortable position before he settled in as well. No matter how she lay, he would wrap one of his arms around her torso while the other gently scratched at her ears until he fell asleep. When he did finally sleep, his face turned soft and his breathing was slow and deep. The eyes she had been staring at the entire night had finally closed to rest.

She had slept like the dead until the early hours of the morning when the sun had begun to peak over the horizon. What had once been a sleep full of nothing but darkness warped into discordant images that were the stuff of nightmares. Of tiny hands covered in blood, the sound of a gun going off, to an image of a younger gramps as he bent down his finger rising to cover his lips in an attempt to get hr to be quiet. The final image was that of a woman that looked very much like Cassie but older and covered in blood.
She woke up with a yip, so disoriented that she'd stumbled out of the bed still on all fours. Her heart hammered wildly inside her chest as she whined, scrambling back against a wall as she shook violently. She was still a wolf.

 He laid back down, his eyes closing before he even hit the mattress, with a soft sigh leaking out of his nose. One arm lay next to his face while the other draped across his chest, slowly rising and falling with his breathing. He may not have had the best dreams, but he had been warm; something that was now currently missing with the absence of his wolf. If she didn't return right away, his brows would furrow while his eyes remained shut and a low, husky voice would whine at her.
"It's cold in here without you."

She hadn't thought of herself since the shift, at least not what she might look like. She'd seen her paws, had seen the tail as she had looked back at him but Cassie hadn't seen her true self, all of it so when she thought of herself she envisioned her human form. The only one she had known most of her life, the one that had gone through all that pain. She'd say the word one more time before going to the front door waiting expectantly.

 He was being an ass, but he wasn't prepared for the mental images she would surely send him. He was about to put the car in drive as he finished speaking, chuckling to himself at the thought of her in a Christmas sweater. As for the collar and leash, he pictured a bright pink with red rhinestones and he couldn't stop smiling. She would utterly hate it and it gave him a small bit of joy after how she kept his jacket from him.

I'll kill you."
She envisioned him buying the gaudiest ugliest pink collar that he possibly could and she mentally gagged. There was no way in hell that she would let him put on something so bad. Instead she focused hard in hopes she could better manage communication. If she was going to be stuck in her current form then she needed to work at it and Cassandra Johnson was not someone who backed down from a challenge.

 (edited)Leather, black."
Something sleek and pretty would be the only thing she would accept. A huff from her nose and his hair ruffled as she flicked her tongue along his ear, giving him the most drool filled lick that she possibly could. Another huff and she sat back in her chair, her attention turning to the window where she promptly ignored him.

 The bell above the entrance rang as Aiden entered the small store. It was a place that not only sold accessories for pets, but also pets themselves. They had guinea pigs, fish, snakes, dogs, mice and ferrets all lined up on the walls and in pins in the middle of the aisles. The smell hit him first. He had never any use to go into a pet store and always forgot how horrid they smelled, especially to him. The stench of food, old cages and dirty fur filled his nose as he made his way to the dog section. He tried his best not to cough, but there were a couple times his body won out over his mental fortitude.
Checking out the collars, he found a few that looked gaudy enough to piss her off, but as he scanned the selection he found one that looked perfect. Picking up the black and red collar, he also spotted 'name tags' that could be clipped onto them. He knew 'Cassandra' wasn't a common dog name, but just before he gave up and made his way to the counter, he saw a small golden charm in the shape of a heart that read:

A small smile formed on his lips and without really telling his arm to grab it, his body obeyed. He could feel something strange going on with him as he walked to the counter to check out. She had some kind of hold over him and while he just assumed it was her wolf form connecting with his, he knew that wasn't exactly the case. Paying for the collar, the accompanying leash and the charm, he made his way back to the car. As soon as he exited the building with the small bag, he held it up for Cassandra to see with raised brows and a cheeky grin. He didn't get her anything that would make her look ridiculous, but he didn't have to tell her that right away. He climbed into the drivers seat after he clicked the locks and sat the bag on the center console while he buckled himself in. Turning to her, he reached over to do the same, pulling the seatbelt across her chest to make sure she wasn't injured if they wrecked.
"I found the perfect thing for you, but you have to wait until we get to the gallery to see it. I can't wait for our run. All the other wolves are going to laugh at you."
He teased, clicking her seatbelt and snatching the bag to try and keep it as far away from her as he could. He sat it on his floorboard and pinned it to his seat with the foot he wasn't using to drive as he backed the car up and made his way to the gallery. Even if she had managed to keep the bag from him, she wouldn't have been able to see the contents as everything inside was wrapped in a few layers of tissue paper. She would be forced to wait to see the collar until they were safely parked at their place of employment and Aiden couldn't be happier.

 He would only put the charm on the collar if she approved. Whether she did or not, he would slip the collar on her before pulling the plain, black leash out of the bag as well. Clipping her collar to the leash, he let it hangar her side before he got out of the drivers seat. He would make his way around to the passenger side and open the door for her, grabbing the leash as she jumped out. Her head came to his waist as he walked her towards the gallery, slipping the hand that held her leash into his Jean pocket. He looked over the damage of the building and sighed as he simply walked into one of the rooms on the first floor. The foreman was likely in his office, the first place he would check. Pulling Cassandra along, he would walk into his office and be greeted by a rather portly man who seemed all too eager to see him.
‘There you are, Sir! Wonderful to see you again! I’m sorry to call you in with such short notice, I just had some inquiries about the building.’

 Once he opened the door she pushed herself through lifting her head to stare at the man who was responsible for the work being done. Her eyes narrowed sniffing the air, he smelt of cigarettes and enough grease to drown an elephant. She sneezed then, drawing the foreman's attention to her. His eyes bulging slightly as he looked down at the very large...dog. Was that a dog?

 He looked Michael in the eyes and nodded politely before ushering Cassandra out the door. The foreman followed them both out of the office and seemed to scurry away from the dog with haste. When they were alone, Aiden stuck the leash in his pocket again before he turned to look towards her section of the gallery.

Changes. Yes, walk around, look."
She pulled him towards the section she had been incharge of before his complete take over. A whine escaping her. Changes could be good but that didn't mean that she had to like them. Cassie had always been a stickler for the comforts of norms and one of the most important parts of it was now in Aiden's hands... make that several parts of her life were now in his hands since she was currently stuck like this. Would they even be able to undo whatever had been done? They needed answers and clearly neither Aiden nor Cassie had them but that was something to worry about later, first she wanted to see the gallery.
"Where's the art?"

 Stace turned to look at the new customer that walked through the door and he instantly saw it in her eyes. Flashbacks of the ritual permeated his peaceful mind as his grip tightened on the leash. It was her fault that Cassandra was the way she was, stuck in a forever fur coat that she didn’t know how to function. His eyes threatened to change and his voice came out in almost a growl as he spoke to her.
“I thought you looked familiar.”
He couldn’t say much else without sounding completely absurd, but he almost didn’t care. He had thought she looked familiar at the ritual site, but he couldn’t quite place her. It was only when she turned to him and he fully saw her face that he also saw Cassandra’s face in agonizing pain; a silent, screaming face he would never get out of his memory. If she would move from around the counter, he would make his way to a table far away from the other girls, but his bright eyes wouldn’t leave hers. If she stayed where she was, he would cross his arms and glare at her until she either spoke or moved.
“Fancy running into you here, I was just about to call you.”
He lied. He had contemplated calling her or at least looking at the number when he got home with Cassandra, but he hadn’t been entirely convinced he was going to. The only thing that made it a possibility in his mind was how worried Cassandra must have been. She didn’t like being a wolf and ONLY a wolf and that was enough to push him to do the right thing.

 Cassie whined. She wasn't sure if Aiden was going to attack or not, but the pure fury that radiated off of him had her backing up and brushing against Stace. A flash of something coming from Cassie's fur, like a whisp of yellow smoke that went right up through Stace's leg until it went all the way up to her eyes. The faint glow remaining there for more than a heartbeat.
Within that heartbeat Stace had been lashed at by the magic that had been cast on Cassie. Cassie herself was flooded with flashbacks of the night before, the pain so intense in that one heartbeat. She yelped, now quickly backing away from Stace as well as Aiden.
Behind them the chime to the door could be heard and Cassie instantly yanked with all her might, bolting for the door. A flash of red fur pushing over a young woman. People yelled in shock and confusion. Her claws scratching into the tiled floor as she slammed into the glass door. With adrenaline pumping through her veins Cassie rushed out the door and down the street. Too caught up in the fear to know which direction she was truly going, the only thought in that moment was to run.

 He let out a deep breath as he felt Stace come near him. He shook his head and wiped a hand down his face as he turned to face her. He could track Cassandra. He wasn’t worried she would get lost or that she couldn’t find her way back if she had to, but he was worried she would remain a wolf forever. For the first time since the shift, he realized that being stuck as a wolf wasn’t doing either of them any favors.
“Let’s get something straight. I don’t trust you, but if you say you can fix her, I know she’d want you to try anything.”
His stark blue eyes looked down the street that Cassandra had run down and squinted as the sun blocked his view. He flashed her a very insincere grin and clicked the button to unlock his car.
“You have 24 hours. Find me something by then or I’m coming back. With or without Cassandra.”
He gave her a narrow-eyed look before he made his way to his car and hopped in the driver's seat. He needed to find Cassandra before she got too far and with her scent, it wouldn’t be too hard.Putting the car in drive and speeding away from the cafe, Aiden looked out his windows and scanned with squinted eyes down every alley, every side street and at every building trying to find her. It wasn’t until he was far away from Stace that he felt the rush of guilt come over him. He had scared Cassandra and maybe if he hadn’t she wouldn’t have felt scared enough to run.

 There was an old shop along the road out of town and there was rarely anyone there, at least that Aiden had observed. He made his way towards the shop even though Cassandra’s path to the woods was much more direct than his. He refused to leave his car unprotected and figured that parking it in a lot would be better than leaving it on the side of the road. It only took a few blocks to get there, but it was long enough with traffic that her scent was starting to diminish. Sliding into the lot and jumping out with haste, he locked the door and took off running towards the woodline. His eyes had scanned the parking lot before he ran, but he didn’t pay as much attention as he should have. His thoughts of the witch were completely gone and with every lunge towards the forest, he could feel himself getting closer to Cassandra.
“I’m coming, babydoll.”
His feet hit the ground with a rough thump as he ran, the hardness of the ground sending shock after shock through his human body. His quickened breath froze his lungs and the smell of the damp woodland floor had his bones aching to shift. He needed to be one with the earth again and once he cleared the treeline, black fur and canine legs burst forth from his clothes. Shreds of his clothes fell from his muscular form as a shadowy wolf with bright yellow eyes took the place of the tall man that had previously been there. The shift was almost instant and looked like it took no effort at all; one leap he was human and the next he was running on all fours deeper in the forest.

Weaving through trees and following the smell of her to the best of his ability, he could see familiar trees and eventually smelled familiar odors. ‘She is going back to the meadows?’ He thought, pressing his legs to move faster. It didn’t take him long to find the meadow they had run around in the night before and when he got closer, he came to a gradual stop at the edge of the clearing.

“Cassandra?!”
He called for her as he poked his head out of the trees to see if she was there. His deep voice in his own mind would travel down to the tall grass below, eliminating his chances of being sneaky. He just wanted to make sure she was okay, that she was safe. If he was able to spot her, he would sit down next to the trees that likely hid him just a bit and watch her. If he didn’t see her, he would continue down into the meadow and start to track her again.
@enchantednymph

Aiden...
@shayshayrian
Cassandra… What can I do?”
He pulled a paw over her back and brought himself as close to her as he could, draping his head atop hers as if shielding her from something above. He felt useless and he couldn’t take her back to the house, not right then. She needed out of her wolf form, but there was no way they could rush the process. He had already done what he could with his threats, but that meant she would still have to wait a full day.
“I’ll do anything you ask, my love. Just name it.”
@enchantednymph
I want to run.
She moved closed rubbing against him and turned again, her tail flicking in his face. She wanted to run, to play like they had in the meadow. Cassie let out a playful noise, or attempted it coming out like a distorted yip. She wanted to see more of that sweet side that her human side didn't get to see. She stretched then, her butt jutting up as her tail moved across his face again, a small growl leaving her before she took off towards the other side of the meadow.
@shayshayrian
I want to run.’
His eyes stayed on hers and watched the small movements of her wolfish face. It was still daylight, people were surely looking for her and it was not the safest plan. People in town who had spotted a wolf were more than likely already grabbing their guns to head for the woods and if there had been any enemy packs in town, they would surely know another wolf was there now. The playfulness that bellowed out of her made the corners of his mouth curl up as he contemplated the pros and cons. They shouldn’t, they should just go home and wait for the town to settle down, but he had asked what she needed and she told him.
“Alright.”
Before he even got the word out of his mind she had taken off across the meadow. Flower pedals and dandelion seeds dusted the top of the grass as she ran. Red fur and tossed-up weeds created a line through the peaceful land, one that was quickly followed by a similar black line that was gaining fast. The feeling of the wet grass and crisp air sliding through his fur was magical. It ignited every nerve in his body and made him run harder. His tongue fell out the side of his maw as he ran next to the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. The striking red of her body and the way she moved alongside him, it was as if she had never been a human and only knew this form. The two wolves ran side by side across the meadow, through the tall grass and back into it again. Aiden charged ahead of her though on their way back in, urging her to follow him as he pushed through the clusters of babies-breath and moved head-long into the forest. He jumped over fallen trees, ran through the ancient moss and jumped over small ravines until he hit a small creek. The water flowed in the same direction they were running, splashing up to lap at their paws as he led her along its edge. It wasn’t until the creek turned into a small lake that he started to slow his pace, eventually coming to a walk at it’s bank before hopping down to drink from the creek before it entered the larger body of water.

“If you find yourself in the woods, always drink from the creeks and streams. The rocks help filter it while the larger bodies of water more often than not have fish that contaminate it.”
He wasn’t trying to chastise her, only teach her the ways of nature since they had no idea how long she was going to remain in her animal form. A long tongue came out to lap up the water before it hit the lake, a cool and instant relief for the older wolf. He stepped away and allowed her to take a drink as well if she wanted one.Looking around and listening for threats, he spoke to her again without looking at her.
“Where do you want to go?”
@enchantednymph
I'm hungry..." It wasn't a direct answer but she wondered if they'd be able to run home in time? She had asked to run and he had allowed her that but where they were versus where Aiden's home was... they were nowhere close by. Another whine and Cassie sniffed at the air, moving to nudge Aiden with her snout.

"You didn't feed me this morning."
Her voice practically grumbled though it was definitely more clearly spoken than what she'd been able to do before.
@shayshayrian
I’m hungry… You didn’t feed me this morning.’
Aiden felt Cassandra bump his nose with her own, gingerly running her snout against his as her words floated into his mind. He came to sit then, pushing back into her face for a moment before lifting his head to look around. He smelled all sorts of prey around them; rabbits, deer and even moose, but he wasn’t sure if hunting was something she was ready for. She would have to dig her teeth into their skin and break it, something he even had a hard time doing at first. The black wolf gave a small sneeze as he cleared his sinuses and shook his head rapidly.
“Do you want to hunt or do you want to head home?”
He left it up to her to decide. He personally didn’t think she was ready for it, but she had proved him wrong on many occasions. His golden eyes found hers as his front paws pressed deeper into the ground. If she chose to go home, he would have to try and sneak them both back into the town. If she chose to hunt, there were plenty of options, but none that he thought she would like. Lowering his head a bit, he continued to look at the red wolf until she made her decision.
@enchantednymph
Home... I can't-"
She couldn't hunt, wouldn't. There were a lot of things she could do, but that...would take a long time to even contemplate and her stomach was already in knots after that flashback from the night before though the run had helped with that some. Cassie stretched then, her muscles feeling better after having used them so much. She wasn't one hundred on what the plan was to get back home, but she did know that she had messed up back in town, she'd ran off in her fear and had caused an accident. The image of the car flashed through her mind and she wondered if whoever had wrecked their car was alright, if she had accidently hurt someone... Another whine and she brushed up against Aiden again, he truly was a salve to her internal and external struggles.
"I'm sorry."
The thought left her as she rested her head against him, a soft huff leaving her causing his black fur to move. To what she was apologizing was the more ambiguous thing. Was she apologizing for running? For being scared of him? Or was it something else? Her eyes shut before she eventually pulled away and waited for him to direct her wherever it was they would be heading next.
@shayshayrian
Home… I can’t’
Aiden knew somewhere in his mind that that would be her answer. Bringing a paw up to his nose, he rubbed his snout before looking around and contemplating what to do next. They were a long way from home, but it wasn’t unfounded. They could traverse the forest and come out in Aiden’s neighborhood, but it would mean that they couldn’t be seen afterwards or they would likely be hunted. His golden eyes pierced through the nearby trees, mapping out a path in his mind before her voice broke his concentration.
‘I’m sorry.’
He looked down to see her nuzzle into him, causing his head to lower and rest against her’s for a moment. When she pulled away, he shook his head to her and looked out towards the trees once more.
“Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault and I understand…” He let out a small sigh as he turned back to her, coming to stand on all fours again. “Follow me. We’ll head back to the house, but you’ll have to be discrete. I think the whole town may be looking for you after today.”
If she seemed ready to follow him, he would face the grove alongside the river and take off through the tall grass. Flowers and seeds flew through the air as the bolts of black and red raced through the foliage. The hard pound of their paws against the ground rumbled all around them, causing rabbits, birds and other small prey to flee from the dangerous duo. Aiden kept his eye ahead, trusting that she would follow him, but also listened for her voice for any distractions. The forest held many a beast inside and while it was still daytime, there were some shadows caused by the leaves that seemed to move at odd angles and no doubt looked like moving figures at the speed they were traveling at.
“Stay close, Copper.”
He continued his rush through the trees, scaling down ravines and jumping over small bushes. He slowed once the trees became more dense and the light seemed to reach the ground less and less.
“Are you okay?” He knew it was a ridiculous question, but he had to ask. Obviously she wasn’t. The wolf took a lot from her, but it also gave her a lot too. He would try his best to get her back to normal and as the thought entered his mind, he thought that maybe she would enjoy running through the woods at night. There was a perfect spot where the moon illuminated almost an entire glen and he knew she would love it. The thought made his wolfish smile grow until he looked back at her.

I am...working on it.
It was the truth, as simple as that. There was still so much she didn't understand or hadn't experienced yet and it would take her time to process through everything. Even if she was angry with her grandfather right now, and partially with Stace as well they had answers to the questions she had and she would need to confront them. Then there was the whole ordeal of her dream the night before. What had that been? Was it truly a dream or was it a memory and why did it give her a sense of dread deep within her gut when she thought about that?

She stared at him then, those piercing blue eyes staring into the gold. They had fought so much before all of this had begun and yet all he had shown her since had been a kindness she hadn't thought he had possessed. Something tugged at her heart and she let out a soft whine.
I'd be lost without you.
