Declan Go BOT 14-Mar-23 03:49 PM
Declan wasn't sure what was happening. The last thing he remembered was going below deck to sleep after some heavy fog had rolled in. Now he looked around at an almost empty beach and wondered how he could have gotten there, he was a relatively heavy sleeper but not to the point of sleeping in a bed and waking up in the sand. The fact that he was dry made it even more confusing. Declan turned and looked around noting that the beach he was on seemed to be temperate which didn't add up. If the ship had crashed into an island it should be tropical not a rather cozy temperate climate. Declan was a marine biologist and although navigation and geography weren't his field he had to do a certain amount of research and all of his prior to this trip was that there shouldn't be an island here at all. He sighed and finished wiping the sand off his jeans before looking back to the boat. The boat sat there on the beach quiet but in one piece and he imagined a crash would have left more damage but then where was the crew? He jogged towards it feeling the water soak his socks through his high tops and hauled himself aboard. The only person he could see in the entirety of the ship was one woman who seemed to be coming to. "Need a hand?" He offered holding his hand out to help her up, his voice warm and smooth like honey and tea. @Enummi

Lex Greywood BOT 14-Mar-23 04:25 PM
It had been a week since they had been on this excursion boat. It was the only travel method available to Lex at the time when she was looking for some transportation to a mysterious island just off the coast of Australia. She absolutely detested the deep ocean but she held up strong. Mainly by hiding away in the lower decks away from any views of the wide ocean. Every time the boat swayed, so did her insides. Seasickness was no joke! Taking some meds, she ended up wrapping herself inside her blankets and letting the meds take effect. Soon passing out from the drowsy side effect it had. When she awoke, Lex noticed the boat had stopped swaying. Did they arrive? Uncertain, she exited her room with her pack and walked down the corridor. It was quiet... Still and devoid of any life on board. How strange.. when she stepped up the ladder to the top deck, she was greeted by an outstretched hand. Unsure of who this man was, she climbed the rest of the way up and shook her head. "I'm alright, thank you." Lex took a look around with uncertain eyes. "What happened?" Her eyes then rested upon a peak in the distance, immediately rummaging through her bag until she snagged a rolled up piece of parchment. Unfurling it to reveal notes of the mysterious island she was looking for. The peaks were exactly the same as the ones in the distance. Her features then turned to astonishment as she connected reality to where they were. Now turning to face the man that had offered his generous help. "I.. we made it here without a scratch?" She heard that most people that visited this place all met an unfortunate end. Shaking off all of the thoughts running wild in her mind, she was the one to offer her hand this time. "Sorry about that, lets start over. The names Lex. Lex Greywood, and I'm an Archeologist who so happens to also be an Anthropologist. Who do I have the pleasure of meeting? Seeing as we're probably the only survivors currently." @Triceratops&Bottoms

Declan Go BOT 16-Mar-23 02:55 PM
Declan lowered his hand unsure of why she wouldn't take it but there was enough going on without being offended by the refusal. When she offered her hand though he took it and gave her a firm handshake. "Declan Go, and I wouldn't say without a scratch." It was true his skin seemed unmarked as did hers but they were alone. He looked back down below the deck and didn't see anyone else around. "Unless everyone is really good at hiding it's just us, there's not even signs of anyone else up here." Making his way to the controls of the boat she checked all the auxiliary functions and it seemed everything needing electricity was done for. He didn't know much about repairing boats but he had spent enough time on them for his work to learn a thing or two. "The boats out of commission as well so we're not going to be able to ask for help. This isn't ideal for sure, but maybe we should go see if we can find anyone else." Normally he would try to find a source of freshwater right off the go but they had some in storage and if the captain was out there he might be able to get the boat running again. @Enummi
